Helpful Advice for Purchasing a Used Vehicle
Purchasing a pre-owned automobile is a financially astute option when the time comes to replace your current car. Although more people are buying brand-new vehicles now than ever before, if you know how to find a decent bargain, a used car can be a fantastic option.
A previously owned vehicle is the most cost-effective option. It's a chance to upgrade your lifestyle, but a used vehicle comes with all the problems associated with regular use. As a result, it's crucial that you steer clear of these blunders the next time you go used-car buying. However, when it comes to used automobiles, you must exercise extreme caution, as there is a good chance that you will make a poor bargain or even lose money. Here are some things to keep in mind when shopping for a used vehicle.
Never purchase a vehicle sight unseen.
Strangely, people will purchase vehicles blindly from the internet without ever having seen them in person. I heard you could get a good deal on a vehicle if you went out of state. If you haven't seen the vehicle with your own senses, how do you know it exists? There were instances where consumers who purchased a vehicle based on online photos were in touch to express their disappointment. To find a used car vendor close to you, just Google automotive dealership Hoover AL.
Check it out
What's your certification status? Expert Mechanic? If not, drive the vehicle around town for a while before buying it. Once they've bought a vehicle, many people take it to a repair shop to make sure it's in good working condition. That's backward, to say the least. If you discover something after you acquire the vehicle, it won't stop you from purchasing it. The horse has already departed the stable, as the saying goes.
Get behind the wheel and give it a spin.
Instead of just a circle in the parking lot, this one is out on the street. When you've finished, take it for a spin down the motorway at top speed and check out all the bells and whistles. It's important to factor in the expense of broken air conditioning, but only after you've done your research.
Make no up-front payments
Scams are the most prevalent unethical practices being carried out under the guise of the used vehicle market. Buyers are being duped by con artists using the Internet and mobile applications who only show them photos of the vehicle before asking for a down payment. Don't fall for their ploy; they'll pocket the fee you paid for their "help" and you won't be receiving a vehicle. You should, therefore, request a meeting with the proprietors and a personal inspection of the vehicle and its documentation before finalizing any deal.

We're going to toss the Camaro in there too cuz it's a piece now top speed is like 400 mph and a lot of warlock on it and you can get at the dealership and he said but it's a toned down version this one has the stingray motor and people are interested in that looks different too it has different fairings and different intake and it's mean looking and Mac wants it so he's going to send it over and the more lock are going to the Chevy dealer that's where they can get the super duper one they have to order it though they say so they can't get it there the top speed of the one that the dealership is about $250 and there's no limiter just 250 and that's it so I've got Ford and I've got three models ready to go to the GT dealer and that's what it is
Oh God did the dealer say he says look you only get hurt like one movie and that's Justin's movie it says that's not me then who the hell is it that's Stan he's Obi-Wan okay okay so you're fine
I know I'm fine and what are you okay you're good we understand that Ben Arnold says
So I'm sending along three models and he says he's reviewed them and they're acceptable and he wants the muscular mustang and it is beefed up and it goes about 450 it's a little bit beefier than the Camaro but then again he's lying about the speed so they like it and you don't really redline it to get the top speed but okay if your red line is 450 then we have to raise sometime soon he's going to get as fast and furious man out BG. Is the alternate Mac and he's getting ready so I'm getting mine out and guess who that is bja. So the grinning and they're going to have fun and it's going to be at the speedway hopefully in Sarasota and they both say yes it's a kickoff they're not the mega muscle but this is what these guys like the warlock and you can't get the mega muscle one at the dealer yeah you can and they might have some but really you end up ordering it and it takes time but the Corvette dealer will have the new Camaro muscle muscle car super sports car and the Ford GT dealer will have the muscly mustang they have three cars in addition
The Ford mustang GT starting price $35,000 that's right that's the base model if you add a motor that goes somewhere it's $45,000 with the souped-up version with the bells and whistles the base model is $65,000 and it goes 250 mph
The Ford mustang GT at the GT dealer starting price is $70,000 it goes 450 mph top speed and it's capable of handling the speed we recommend you don't go over 400 and it has some safety features
The Ford GT which is the indie format it is smaller it is a mid-engine just like the Corvette stingray and top speed is around 750 miles an hour, and we have a limiter about 600. Starting price $90,000
There a couple other Ford models and they are the same alpha numerical designations and they do have numbers to them too as the race cars but let's keep it simple and just follow the same
Ford GT C and it is a wonderful vehicle it is extremely powerful it's designed very well and looks very sleek and awesome impressive it's a Ford GT and everything you wanted it to be it goes about 900 mph the limiter is set to 6:50 and we don't recommend you take it off unless you're an expert the reason why the motor goes so fast and it handles like a dream and the motor is so fast so it will last. It does have some more safety features in there significant. And it does sell for $145,000
Ford GT B and this is the muscle car of hypercars it is a hypercar not a super car is much faster top speed of about 1500 miles an hour and it will compete and compete with the Corvette d. The price tag is about $280,000 and we're more than Chevrolet and we haven't been producing cars for a while and they cost a lot to make and our factories are not set up once they are we're going to lower the prices and Ford will sell like hotcakes we are reintroducing several cars in order for that to take place
The Ford escort the Ford explorer and the Ford expedition and they're a little wider that is the Ford explorer but they're excellent cars and they just continued them and it was ridiculous there's also a car that was very famous sold all the time and it's a standard Ford in North Carolina and it's like an LTD but we don't have the moon window it's our standard window it's a very nice vehicle and it's not compact it's one step up and it will sell like madness and I'm putting it all together now all the cars are changed no but we have changed several of them for sale at the Ford GT dealer that's in Sarasota Florida and it's been Arnold and he does compete and he owns it the dealership and his part ownership in Ford and he dreamed about this day and didn't think it would happen today and neither did we but this is how we want to approach it and we have new pickup trucks coming out and they're nice and some of them have decent performance packages that you'll love and an awesome cars and trucks
Hera
You go girl I see the effect on him and it's intense you got up and started plowing and pushing these things are awesome I've never seen anybody act so fast on straightening it out it's been sitting there talking about the whole time and wanting to fix it and it couldn't believe these guys are sitting there doing nothing since switch gears you lost he's kicking your ass do something step back put the forest take the hit they won't do it they want to go in first no matter what you do it's too much for them they can't handle it it's gold just sitting there they say it's not he says that it is so he doesn't care go ahead in first he's not arguing that point I want to be clear about this he knows what will happen to you and so do we we're not making it happen so get lost we say and she wants him to drive a Ford and I'll sell so many it won't I wouldn't know what to do with the money but it's real money so I'm interested in that and then he says mustang and she says no pickup truck and he likes one of those slightly big tires not huge ones I know he's talking about too this one is a little bit hyped up but not much it looks like his style he put some other things on it like the chain around the license plate no the ball is hanging down probably not. So I do know what he's saying it's pretty tact it's not tacky and it's functional stuff he puts on so I like it we're actually ready to do that kind of thing he wants to put like a real roll cage it's tactful and some lights and it's respected out here because you kind of need it sometimes and he said you do and he gives an example that's really not really that terrific but it's absolutely true if you're hitting on that road that's to the south of the 75 into the glades you need light if you're going faster than 60 there's so much stuff out there jumps in front of you you have a couple things jump out I had to avoid it and it was scary to him slow down way down went to see what the hell's going on sometimes it's flock of them so casein point he's been experienced at it and we have to and you really need some lights out sometimes and these new Ford mustangs even the base model and we might sell some of those too at the GT store have fog lights and they're very handy especially here in Florida where they have fog. They cut through the phone they're kind of below it and it works. I'm looking forward to this and sales figures are up meaning we're getting calls and they want the car we have probably 400 prospective sales already so going to the office and we're going to get them in here I'm going to sell cars and I appreciate him it's something to do it's positive I'm going to call my people and get them in and he says he suggest it and something to do but it's real we need to pick up trucks they're going to make them now and a lot of them and they're powerful strong and sturdy what an exciting day and he says it is exciting it's wonderful it says for one commercial for Ford mustang and he could get a free truck I'm trying to arrange that like if he has asked to park a mustang or something.
Ben Arnold
Wow that's a good idea now we're going to compete
Mac daddy I have to send it's not my fault
Oh okay this was happening so so what I still can't get anything and that was him and I'm always saying it and it doesn't matter cuz he can't get anything
Trump
Wow that actually sucks we're doing better though it's good he says. Yeah hope she don't get sucked in the vortex of attacking first and we probably will

If you stand that's stupid that's a huge teams come in might be out and take the stuff it's better for us

I want to tell you a quick story about a motor vehicle my bride and I just purchased. It’s a story about how technology is being deployed to protect human life. I never knew such technology existed.
We purchased a 2022 Ford Ranger pickup from a dealer in McKinney. We ordered it from the factory in Dearborn, Mich. We added a couple of bells and whistles that weren’t part of the truck…

Brent’s Top 10 Movies of 2019
Scorsese is probably my favorite living filmmaker, but I’ll be honest, when I heard that Scorsese was making this movie, and *how* he was making it (heavily digital de-aged actors) I was a bit skeptical. De Niro and Pacino haven’t been turning in interesting performances in quite awhile, and Pesci came out of a decades-long retirement for the movie as well. On top of that, the first trailer released did little for me. All that to say I was an idiot to doubt the master.
Scorsese returns to the crime genre that he re-invented many times over the years, this time with the eyes of a man in his 70’s, looking back on his life and career. The movie is very long, but in my opinion, it needs the length. The viewer needs to *feel* the totality of a life, and as is his intent with The Irishman, the *consequences* of this specific life. The final hour or so of this movie feels like a culmination of Scorsese’s career in many ways. The energy and entertainment of a crime/mob epic, with the fatalism and philosophical leanings of a movie like ‘Silence’. It’s a 3.5 hour movie that I’ve already rewatched, and actively want to again, so that alone ought to speak volumes.
Harmony Korine made one of my favorite movies of the 2010’s, the neon-soaked and often misunderstood ‘Spring Breakers’, so I was already in the bag for whatever he did next. When I heard it was a freewheeling stoner comedy where Matthew Mcconaughey plays a guy named ‘Moondog’ costarring Snoop Dogg, I reserved its location on my top 10 list.
This movie doesn’t have the empty heart at its core that defines Spring Breakers, opting instead for a character study about a ‘Florida man’ poet after his life pretty much falls apart. It’s basically plotless, stumbling from one insane, borderline hallucinatory sequence to the next, but I just loved living in the world of this movie. Beach Bum almost feels like a deliriously fun VR simulation of hanging out with Matt McConaughey and his weirdo friends down in the Florida keys. This is one that probably won’t pop up on many top 10 lists but I really adore, and will surely rewatch it a dozen times in the years to come.
Let the record show, I’ve been a huge fan of Bong Joon-ho since I first saw his monster movie/family drama ‘The Host’. Some time later, he went on to make ‘Snowpiercer’, one of my favorite movies of the last decade. All that to say, I think Parasite is probably his best movie, and a true masterwork of thriller direction. It also has his usual brand of social commentary and a script filled with darkness and humor, following a South Korean tendency to juggle multiple tones throughout, sometimes all in one moment or scene.
Parasite also follows a big 2019 trend of commenting on class and social dynamics between the rich and the poor. I think that’s part of why it’s done incredibly well at the box office (especially for a Korean language film), the fact that people can relate in a huge way, regardless of which country your from. Parasite is one of the most entertaining movie viewing experiences I’ve had this year and I’d recommend everyone check it out.
If you were to ask me what the funnest movie-going experience I had in 2019 was, I’d have to pick Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out’. Hot off making one of the best Star Wars movies ever made (don’t @ me) Johnson decided to make a passion project in the vein of classic Agatha Christie style murder mysteries, and the results are a total blast. Filled with clever twists and turns, weaponizing the structure of murder-mysteries against the audiences expectations, it stays one step ahead of you the entire time.
Aside from the clever mystery of it all, it’s the actors performances and chemistry that really sell this thing. Jamie Lee Curtis and Toni Collette are expectedly great per usual, and Daniel Craig is having the time of his life as Mississippi private-eye Benoit Blanc, but the heart of the movie is relative newcomer Ana de Armas. She brings an emotional weight and anchor to the movie that always keeps you emotionally invested amidst the terrible, money hungry backstabbing by the other heightened characters. I hope everyone sees this movie and Johnson is able to give us another Benoit Blanc adventure somewhere down the line, I’ll be there opening day.
Nobody makes an upbeat, feel-good movie like Ari Aster does! After last years light and breezy ‘Hereditary’ (which I liked a lot but didn’t totally love) he’s back with a completely riveting and emotionally draining (not to mention horrific) masterpiece. What I connected to most in Midsommar is the journey of Dani, played incredibly by Florence Pugh. The way the film portrays the relationship between her and her dog shit boyfriend played by the (usually) charming Jack Reynor keeps you invested in every twist, perfectly paced out over the movies admittedly long runtime.
I won’t get into spoiler territory, but where this movie goes in the end is what makes this a fully 5-star movie for me. After putting you through hell, like Aster loves to do with bells on, Midsommar ends in a euphoric, psychedelic orgy of music and violence that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Midsommar rules so hard and I can’t wait for whatever twisted thing Aster cooks up next.
One of my increasingly favorite brands of movies is a finely crafted, primo slice of dad-movie cinema, and James Mangold has made one with Ford v Ferrari. The story chronicles the partnership of ex-racer and designer Carroll Shelby and racer Ken Miles as they work to make a Ford that can compete in the 24 hour race of Le Mans. Bale and Damon are a blast to watch bounce off each other and the race sequences are pretty damn thrilling, combining (what I expect is) a solid amount of great VFX with practical racing to great effect.
I also didn’t expect it to have as much to say about the struggle to create something special by passionate people and not committees while also inside the very machine that churns out products on an assembly line. Just a random note, this original movie was just put out by 20th Century Fox, now owned by Disney but that’s completely unrelated and I’m not sure why I’d even bring that up??? Anyway, I love this movie and dads, moms and everybody else should check it out.
If you saw my list last year, then it must appear like I’m some diehard Mr. Rogers fan. I don’t really have many memories watching his show as a child, but what the documentary ‘Won’t You be my Neighbor’ and this film by Marielle Heller have in common is a shared fascination of his immense empathy and character. It’s only right that America’s dad Tom Hanks should play him, and I was surprised at the end that I was able to get over his stardom and accept him as Rogers. He’s not doing a direct impersonation, and I think it’s all the better for it, instead opting for matching his soft tone and laid back movements.
On a pure emotional level, this movie was a freight train. It didn’t help that the movie covers a lot of father stuff, from losing your own to becoming one yourself (2 big boxes on the Brent bingo card). Heller’s direction is clever in its weaponizing of meta/post-modern techniques, such as one incredible fourth wall break in a diner scene. It literally breaks down the barrier between Mr. Rogers, we the audience, and the films intent to make us feel something.
I cry a lot at movies, that much is well known, but it’s rare that a movie makes me weep, and this one did. Even thinking about scenes right now, days later, my eyes are welling up with tears thinking about the messages of the movie. Mr. Rogers and his lessons of empathy and emotional understanding have rarely been as vital and important as they are right now in our world.
Robert Eggers first film ‘The Witch’ from 2015 is one of my favorite movies of this decade, possibly of all time, so my hype for his black and white, period piece two-hander ‘The Lighthouse’ was through the roof. Even with sky-high expectations, it still blew me away. With dialogue reminiscent of The Witch in its specific authenticity to its era, to the two lead actors giving all-time great performances, It was one of the most entertaining film viewing experiences I had this year.
There’s something about both of Egger’s movies that I really keyed into watching this one: his fascination with shame and the liberation from it. Where Witch was from the female perspective, Lighthouse literally has two farting, drunk men in a giant phallic symbol fighting for dominance. It’s less a horror film than his first, but still utterly engrossing, demented and specific to his singular vision. I can’t wait to see 20 more movies from this guy.
This is another big movie of 2019, like The Irishman, where you can see the director looking inward, at what his films mean and represent. It initially caught me so off guard that I really didn’t know how to feel about it, but after seeing it again, it’s one of my favorites of the year, and probably Tarantino’s filmography overall. More akin to something like Boogie Nights or Dazed and Confused, letting us live with and follow a small group of characters, it mostly doesn’t feel like a Tarantino movie (until the inevitable and shocking explosion of violence in the third act, of course).
‘Hollywood’ is the most sincere and loving movie Tarantino has made, interested in giving us a send off to an era of Hollywood and artists that have been lost or forgotten (Some more tragically than others). In the end, the movie functions similarly to ‘Inglorious Basterds’ in it’s rewriting of history to give us catharsis. “If only things could have worked out this way.” Luckily in movies, removed from the restrictions of reality, they can. And once upon a time in Hollywood, they did.
Uncut Gems probably tripled my blood pressure by the time the credits rolled. A slice-of-life story about a gambler/dealer in New York’s diamond district, the movie follows Howard Ratner, played by Adam Sandler in easily the best performance of his career. Ratner is basically addicted to living at the edge of a cliff, being chased by violent debt collectors, juggling a home life and a relationship with an employee, and fully relying on risky sports bets to stay afloat. It makes for a consistently tense and unique viewing experience, expertly directed by the Safdie brothers.
Something that might not work for everyone but that I personally loved, is the chaotic way in which the movie is shot. What feels like loosely directed scenes, with characters talking over each other and multiple conversations happening at once, adds an authenticity and reality lacking from most other movies. It’s more adjacent to Linklater (thanks to Adam for the comparison) or Scorsese’s earlier films (also fitting, that he’s a producer on this). Following Howard Ratner as his life descends into chaotic hell was one of the best times I’ve had watching a movie this year.

November 5, 2020: 3:30 pm:
I few days ago, I sent in my vehicle registration renewal, the envelope came quickly, with only a few days of sending the payment online.
I opened the envelope today, from DMV. Inside is a piece of paper, with some numbers on it, an expiration date and some other information about the vehicle it supposed to be taped onto.
There is a letter along with the paper. It explains that the Oregon DMV ran out of vehicle registration stickers, that there was a large number of renewals, they ran out of sticker inventory, and are sending a piece of paper to tape onto the vehicle instead of real tags. I did not receive the new registration for the vehicle, only a paper that looks like it was printed from a computer printer, that I am instructed to tape onto the car.
I anticipate problems. I see it as a set-up. It looks personally aimed at me like a weapon.
Steve Bell and Clyde Baum are behind the paper printed registration that gets taped onto the car, Wesely Crowel plays a role also.
This is like the Josephine county jail scenario, where you have very little chance of survival. The tags are needed, the real registration is needed, but the only sent a piece of printed paper to tape to the vehicle, and a letter explaining that the DMV ran out of registration tags. That does not explain why they did not send the registration card that is supposed to come with the new tags.
This Josephine County Oregon terror situation is more terrifying than most. It will put me face to face with a Royal Canadian Mounted Police who is disguised as an Oregon State Police officer, on a traffic stop. I will be accused of printing the paper sticker replacement myself. All I have to show is that paper, and the letter it came with, along with the renewal notice I was sent a few weeks ago.
Bad news.
Stay tuned, If I don’t return, or my writing style changes, it’s because of a impostor police, Clyde Baum, and Stephen Bell, Wesely Crowel, and Mock’s Ford dealership on 6th Street in Grants Pass Oregon. They are able to manipulate licensing there and are old terror in Oregon.
Lithia Dodge on 6th St is the same way, all of the car dealers in Grants Pass are terror cells capable of licensing manipulation.
End terror report: 3:52 pm.

January 28, 2021: The Fugitive (1993) (Part 1)
Ahem. A reading.
Objectively, there’s only one good movie, and it’s The Fugitive. The Fugitive is the only good movie. Now, if you think I’m capricious, know that I have had this feeling before about other things - I remember when I first read Island of the Blue Dolphins, I was like, “Shut it down, no need to write more book.” Ditto with “The Sign” by Ace of Base - but those feelings didn’t last because eventually I heard “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe and read a little story wou might have hear of called THE BIBLE? But when t comes to The Fugitive, I have never wavered. The Fugitive is the only good movie.
- Lindy West, Shit, Actually
That was the first paragraph of the first essay of Lindy West’s book, Shit, Actually, the book that, you may recall if you’ve been here from the beginning, started on this exciting, over-ambitiously dumb project of mine. And, no...I have never seen The Fugitive. I didn’t even finish this essay, because I knew I’d wanted to watch this movie for a bit. So, what better way to finish this action-packed journey, than to watch this film?
Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, two of modern Hollywood’s most legendary curmudgeons, in a movie together! I am excited. I love both of these guys, and this movie is a major hallmark in their careers. It was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, with Jones WINNING for Best Supporting Actor, and is called one of the greatest action films of all time, especially for the decade. AND, it’s based on a television series from the 1960s, just like another entry in this month, Mission: Impossible! Look, I’m excited, so let’s do this, huh?
Gonna find out if Lindy West was right. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Recap
As the credits roll, and views of Chicago flash by us, a murder is also taking place. A woman struggles with an unseen assailant, until eventually being shot. The woman is Helen Kimble (Sela Ward), and her newly-bereaved husband is Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford), a respected vascular surgeon in the area. As he’s taken to the police station, he flashes back to the last time they were together: a fundraising benefit.
The two seem like a very happy couple, and drive home as Richard is called in to perform an emergency surgery. As he remembers that night, the police question him on the fight and struggle. Apparently, Kimble was there and fought with a one-armed man with a prosthetic arm. And as he answers various probing questions, two things become overly clear: that the cops suspect Kimble of killing his wife, and also that these are really shitty cops.
I don’t know what it is with movie cops, but they’re always absolutely the worst during questioning. Not that it matters, because Kimble would appear to be the only suspect. At the trial, a tape is played that seems to directly implicate Kimble...I guess. Kimble, as a result, is...like, IMMEDIATELY sent to the chair! WOW. That’s...that’s a little extreme there, your honor, don’t you think? Dear God.
Now going to jail, Kimball’s put on a prison bus with other prisoners However, those other prisoners don’t want to stay that way, and orchestrate a breakout on the bus, leading to a crash. One of the guards is injured, and another card asks Kimball to help, and hands him the keys to his handcuffs at his request. However, there isn’t enough time to save him, as the bus has landed in an...inopportune location
Lot of damaged property today. Not a good day for the state of Illinois, I tell you what. Kimble and another prisoner make it out, and flee the scene quick-as-they-can. Arriving soon after them is Deputy U.S. Marshall Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones). There, one of the guards (who ran away and abandoned his partner) is claiming to have saved his partner, when Kimball’s the one who pulled him out of the bus. He also claims that all of the passengers, Kimball included, are dead.
Although the sheriff is inclined to believe this story, Gerard is less inclined to do so, and takes over the investigation. He basically almost immediately finds out that the guard is lying, and the guard recants his story. Gerard then makes the following speech:
Iconic. Absolutely iconic.
Kimble’s on the run, and skillfully makes his way into a hospital. He treats his wounds from the crash, then shaves his beard and changes his clothes. He passes by a cop who’s SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR HIM, and the cop doesn’t even slightly recognize him, even though his dialogue points out that he fits LITERALLY EVERY PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION, except for the beard.
Wow. Cops are NOT smart in this movie, huh? Gerard and his coworkers, Cosmo Renfro (Joe Pantoliano), Erin Poole (L. Scott Caldwell), Robert Biggs (Daniel Roebuck), and Noah Newman (Tom Wood) go over Kimball’s file, and discover that the injured guard recognized him at the hospital. Kimball’s also stolen an ambulance, resulting in a chase between Kimball in the ambulance, and the Marshals in a helicopter. He finds himself trapped in a tunnel.
Somehow, he manages to weasel his way out, escaping from right under their noses into a storm drain. They chase him into the tunnel, with Gerard following in the lead. However, Kimble, who’s armed, manages to get the drop on Gerard, grabs his gun, and the following exchange takes place.
ICONIC ONCE MORE.
Kimble runs, and Gerard chases him to the top of a spillover above a dam, AND THAT MOTHER FUCKER JUMPS
GUY DID A PETER PAN RIGHT OFF OF THE DAM (to quote Gerard). AWESOME.
Gerard ain’t playin’ around, despite the likelihood of Kimble’s death. He gets them to turn off the damn dam water, and to get a team to search for Kimble’s body. Which is gonna be hard, because HE SURVIVED THAT MASSIVE ASS FALL. SICK.
But he understandably collapses a few minutes later, after climbing onto shore. In his sleep, he dreams of Helen. Said dream seamlessly transitions from peacefully romantic bliss to the night of the murder, and Kimble’s struggle with the mysterious one-armed man.
The Marshals, in the meantime, find Kimble’s fellow prisoner, and Gerard takes him out without a second word. When questioned by a fellow officer why he didn’t bargain with the guy, he simply says, “I. Don’t. Bargain.” Tough man. But I like him? Whaaaaaat?
Kimble wakes up and hitches a ride back into Chicago, on a mission to search for the one-armed man. He calls his lawyer, Walter Gutherie (Dick Cusack), who tells him to turn himself in. He refuses, and tells Walter that he’s in St. Louis. Doesn’t fool the Marshals, though, who’ve procured a recording of the call (probably by bugging Walter). They recognize from the background that the call is coming from Chicago.
In Chicago, Richard gets in contact with another friend, Dr. Charlie Nichols (Jeroen Krabbé), who provides him with some money, allowing him to get a temporary place to stay. Kimble, meanwhile, gets in contact with the stupid...STUPID cops from the interrogation scene, and they inform the rest of the department of Kimble’s escape.
Kimble isn’t acting overly intelligent himself, as he goes RIGHT BACK to his old hospital to go to the prosthetics lab, to try and discern the type of prosthetic, as well as the source. The Marshals head there, too, to speak with Charlie. While he admits that he saw Kimble that morning, he doesn’t have any other information to give him. They go around interviewing everybody at the hospital who knew him, including...Jane Lynch?
...Huh. Neat! Anyway, they investigate Kimble, and Kimble takes up an identity as a hospital worker, teaching himself about prosthetics all the while. But one day, as he’s sleeping, the police raid the apartment that he’s staying in, as her son is a drug dealer. A narrow escape for an anxious Kimble.
Having now remembered what the prosthetic looked like, he poses as a janitor and makes his way into the prosthetics lab. On the computer, he searches for the model of prosthetic arm. He finds 5 matching records for prosthetic limbs.
But Chicago is busy tonight. While the landlady’s son is spilling the beans on Kimble to the cops, a bus crash has happened, sending several young kids into the hospital as Kimble’s about to leave. And one boy appears to be in a lot of trouble. The doctor in charge, Anne Eastman (Julianne Moore), asks Kimble to take him to a waiting room, believing that the boy is stable. They’ve written the boy off as stable, but Kimble, being a brilliant doctor, knows that something seems wrong. Covertly, he fills out a chart, then saves his life by getting him to surgery.
Eastman figures out that Kimble’s saved his life, and figures out exactly who he is. On her way to report him, he escapes the hospital just as the Marshals arrive.
Halfway point! See you in Part 2!

Is Blockchain a Fad?
Blockchain is the technology on which Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies are built. Much of the talk around this technology revolves around speculation and making fast money. Because of this many scams have been pulled and this has, in turn, led many people to discount the entire technology as unnecessary and as even a scam itself. In fact, my favorite place for tech news for over a decade has been Hacker News but you will find nearly all the comments on all articles related to blockchain technology completely dismissive of it. It was pretty shocking to me when I first saw it because the level of disdain for anything related to blockchain technology on Hacker News is nearly absolute. There aren't even metered assessments such as Blockchain has a specific and limited use case but rather the opinions are that the technology has zero use and has zero value in any context. One can't help but give pause and really wonder if you're being deceived when the likes of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett dismiss the entire technology as worthless as well.
Think twice before you listen to advice from people who don't know the difference between Bitcoin and Blockchain. You might as well take technology advice from someone who doesn't know the difference between Facebook and the World Wide Web. For as many naysayers, there are thought leaders who pronounce Blockchain as his greatest discovery of man since fire, the wheel, and the internet. Steve Wozniak for one compares it to the early days of Apple when they were still in the garage. The very fact that these disagreements and controversies exist points to the reality of how early we are in the development and application of this technology. The polarization is so deep right now you could almost say that the mental divide that existed between the pre-internet mindsets and the pioneers of the internet now exists between traditional internet thinkers and decentralized Blockchain thinkers. Time will show you who the truly prescient ones were. Consider the following analogy that illustrates where I think we are with this technology.
Imagine we're in the early nineteen hundreds and there are only 100,000 cars in the country. By 1908 there will be somewhere around 200,000 vehicles registered in the United States and around 500 companies busily making more types of cars. Ford leads the pack with the Model T, Buick is right behind them, and General Motors has just been founded and will be creating even more models. There are no shortage of critics. The president of a Michigan savings bank advised Horace Rackham, Henry Ford’s lawyer, not to invest in his client’s company, telling him, “The horse is here to stay, but the automobile is only a novelty -- a fad.” The Washington Post stated that "Local horse dealers do not look upon the advent of the automobile with any degree of seriousness. It is true that society has taken up the automobile, but the dealers consider it nothing but a fad, which will not have as much permanency as the bicycle. They argue that the noise of the engine or motor will soon wear the tender nerves of the society belle or swell to a frazzle and that the odor of the locomobile is not at all agreeable to the sensitive nostrils." - The Washington Post from May 14th, 1900
Consider the following parallels. Blockchain is to the crypto ecosystem what the internal combustion engine was to the automobile ecosystem. Bitcoin is the Model T of this new burgeoning ecosystem. It has all the brand recognition and it's come to be almost entirely identified with the automobile itself. But there are many other types of automobiles on the road and many more will come that bring their own unique properties, strengths, and weaknesses. There are numerous other cryptocurrencies and Blockchains that exist besides Bitcoin. There were many unorthodox car designs in the early days and even foolish applications of the internal combustion engine but none of these discounted the entire revolution in transportation that was transpiring.
Just like the analogy with these cars, there doesn't need to be one car to rule them all or a "winner". Each protocol can have its own unique properties suited to a specific use case. One doesn't even need to know which particular car is going to do well or not in the market. Just knowing that the world is going to be overtaken by cars as a product category puts you in an extremely advantageous position. Certainly better than the horse traders who could see nothing but another fad. A person with this knowledge can invest in cars at the ecosystem level. As I've stated elsewhere, this technology has produced digital scarcity, something inconceivable prior to the Bitcoin whitepaper and we are in the very early stages of recognizing its impact and potential applications.
There are two methods of analysis that are used when analyzing the value of any asset security. Technical analysis and fundamental analysis. Technical analysis has to do with understanding charts and the fluctuating price of something and trying to infer certain patterns to determine whether the price will go up or down. This is what a lot of people think of when they think of cryptocurrency and Blockchain. This involves studying charts and buying tokens when they're cheap and waiting for them to go up in value and making lots of money. But fundamental analysis has to do with the intrinsic utility of the thing being studied. That is, regardless of how the price is fluctuating or what the current demand is, how useful is this thing? This is what separates the traders and investors. So drawing upon the previous analogy with the history of automobiles, I asked myself, what is the fundamental utility of programmable digital scarcity? This technology not only has the power to displace everything we've known concerning financial systems but it also has the potential to completely rewrite the internet and all digital coordination as we have known it thus far.

“Self-inflicted pain”
President Donald Trump took a step back on Tuesday from his threat to close the U.S. southern border to fight illegal immigration, as pressure mounted from companies worried that a shutdown would cause chaos to supply chains.
Trump threatened on Friday to close the border this week unless Mexico acted. He repeated that threat on Tuesday but said he had not made a decision yet: “We’re going to see what happens over the next few days.”
Closing the border could disrupt millions of legal crossings and billions of dollars in trade. Auto companies have been warning the White House privately that it would lead to the idling of U.S. plants within days because they rely on prompt deliveries of components made in Mexico.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest U.S. business lobbying group, has been in contact with the White House to discuss the “very negative economic consequences that would occur across the country,” said Neil Bradley, the group’s top lobbyist, on a call with reporters.[...]
Trump has made fighting illegal immigration from Mexico and Central America a key part of his agenda, but shutting down one of the world’s most used borders might be a step too far, even for many of his fellow Republicans.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent cast his shadow on a plaque marking the boundaries of Mexico and United States, at Paso del Norte international border crossing bridge, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico April 1, 2019. REUTERS/Jose Luis Gonzalez
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell joined Democrats in warning Trump against such a move.
“Closing down the border would have potentially catastrophic economic impact on our country and I would hope we would not be doing that sort of thing,” McConnell told reporters on Tuesday.
A group representing General Motors Co, Ford Motor Co and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said in a statement that “any action that stops commerce at the border would be harmful to the U.S. economy, and in particular, the auto industry.”
Dozens of U.S. vehicle, engine, transmission and other auto parts plants could close because of a lack of components in the days after a border shutdown. It would also prevent thousands of vehicles built in Mexico from landing in U.S. dealer showrooms.[...]
Retailers are also raising alarm bells, according to officials with two groups that represent hundreds of U.S. retail firms.
“It will be unprecedented self-inflicted pain,” said David French, senior vice president of government relations at the National Retail Federation. “We are still nervous about this and we have been talking to some of our companies about maybe ramping up direct pressure on the White House by getting CEOs to call.”

Used Ford Car Dealerships Near Me
Buying a used car can sometimes be frustrating. You want to make sure you’re getting a car that addresses your needs and that you are buying from an honest dealer. At Gengras Ford your used Ford Car Dealerships near me, we understand and we are here to help you during your buying process.
Mileage You’re Comfortable With on a Used Vehicle
There’s no such thing as mileage that’s “too high” on a used car’s odometer. That’s because modern vehicles regularly achieve more than 200,000 miles before they reach the end of their useful life. Especially if you don’t plan to drive much, or if you like to upgrade regularly, a high-mileage vehicle can save you major money upfront when you buy a used car near you.
You may find that a well-loved car with high miles received frequent oil changes and tune-ups. Cars driven less often likely sat longer between these services, causing fluids to deteriorate over time. Aging fluids may not work as well as fresh ones recently refilled in a used car.
A quality local car dealership near me, like Gengras Ford, will carefully inspect every vehicle, even high-mileage ones, before they ever are listed for sale and put on the lot.
A Reasonable Price for a Used Car for Sale
Before committing to a used car, it’s wise to check out a few sales listings online to get an idea of how much you should expect to pay at a used car dealership. Another way to find a good price for a vehicle is to check on the Kelley Blue Book website at kbb.com.
Once you know how much you might pay, you should head to the car dealership to see what’s available in the makes, models, and years you’re interested in.
All the Bells and Whistles You Want
Get the most for your money when you shop for a used car. Make a list of all the features you want in a used vehicle, including size, engine power, transmission type, interior finishes, electronics and infotainment systems, and more. Determine which ones are non-negotiable, and which you can compromise on.
If you have your eye on a car with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, look for vehicles manufactured in the last two or three years; if you simply want general Bluetooth connectivity, you might be able to save a little bit of money by looking at vehicles from the past five years or so. You don’t have to settle for outdated technology and base models. Gengras Ford has a huge selection of used cars for sale near me and a vast array of options to meet your needs.
A Clean Vehicle Condition Report from the Used Car Dealership
Gengras Ford is up front with you about a used car for sale’s condition and history. If you aren’t offered a copy of a used vehicle history report, like a Carfax, when you look at a used car, it is totally reasonable to ask to see it! These vehicle history reports can include information that you’ll find helpful in determining which used car, truck, or SUV you might want to purchase. If a dealer doesn’t have a report, it’s best to look elsewhere for your next new-to-you vehicle.
A vehicle history report includes information about:
Whether the car has been in any accidents.
Whether the car has sustained any damage.
The vehicle’s title history.
When and where the vehicle has been sold.
How many owners a vehicle has had.
What the mileage on the odometer should show.
Whether the vehicle has been properly and regularly serviced.
Where the vehicle has been inspected or registered.
If there are any open manufacturer recalls.
All the used vehicles we sell at Gengras Ford, come with one of these reports. We use them as part of our inspection process and while we’re analyzing a car to sell on our lot. That’s one of the ways we make sure all the cars on our lot are the best possible quality for our customers.

Why waste a lot of time searching online listings and random car lots for a used car, when you can come Gengras Ford you see tons of options in your price range? Gengras Ford, the local Ford dealership that CT trusts, focuses on customer satisfaction before all else.
