Ahem. Actually - Mathieu Bellamont was a bona-fide badass and nobody can change my mind.

The man systematically dismantled and nearly exterminated an entire province's Dark Brotherhood at it's most stable, using deception and exploitation of their flaws and ignorance.

The man infiltrated a cult of killers, hellbent on vengeance for the mother he watched as a child get slain, sacrificing his sanity and morality in order to destroy a group of monsters from within - at the cost of becoming a monster himself.

Albeit he did it for selfish, obsessive reasons - had he completely destroyed the group, he would've been doing Tamriel a favor.

Meanwhile the Penitus Oculatus, a trained military force, couldn't even destroy a single Sanctuary of a Brotherhood that was literally on it's last legs. 🙃
