Once again plugging the BEASTS OF BURDEN OMNIBUS in the hopes of selling a copy or two. In this modern comics world a book comes out and disappears like a pebble tossed in a lake. There's a few ripples and then it's forgotten. I keep taking this pebble out and drying it. I don't think that metaphor really works but fuck it.

BUY THIS BOOK. DON'T POSTPONE JOY.

The Beasts of Burden Omnibus is available at full-line comic shops and bookstores that support stuff like this. It's also available from online book and comic shops and sellers. Published by Dark Horse Comics, the same folks who published The Eltingville Club, Dork and Milk & Cheese (and will once again in the future).

Almost 600 color pages of story and extras for only $30. Dogs and cats versus the supernatural. Includes every story done so far including the crossover with Mike Mignola's Hellboy. Art by co-creator Jill Thompson and Benjamin Dewey. Lettering by Nate Piekos and Jason Arthur. Scripts by e, with several stories co-written with Sarah Dyer. Winner of eight Eisner Awards and a Harvey Award. We lost some other things we were nominated for.

It's a good comic.

Forty Days of Frankenstein, Day Thirty-five: back in 2012, artist Benjamin Dewey was creating a series of humorous cartoons called the "Tragedy Series." #78 in that series was this one, featuring a bald Creature, and am Igor/Fritz that seems like he was sketched from Dwight Frye. I do see what the Doctor here was going for, but the cartoon is correct. Such a tragedy!

Since she's had so many over the years, what's your favorite look for princess fen?

I don't think anything will ever be better than Jae Lee's Fen from the 90s series (although this wasn't the real Fen, but a bodyswitcher witch, Artys-Gran, using Fen's body I still think it counts) Lee went Undersea Gothic (my favorite vibe) for the Atlanteans and I wish we could get more like this in future stuff, especially Fen's headdress, it's something I'm lowkey obsessed about.

Namor, the Sub-Mariner (1990) # 30-40

I even commissioned @ecairnsart to create a royal look for Namor's Hellfire Gala with inspiration from this era.

Also I commissioned @makajinjin to create a Namor & Fen art for me that included this headdress.

As for my other favorites, I am a "Fen has dark black hair" truther, I know the comics have shown Fen with everything from blonde, orange, red, brown, to black hair but I know in my heart that Fen has black hair. (Also we have Dorma, Andromeda, and Mystique in Marvel Comics who all have red hair/blue skin, so I like Fen's hair to be black like Namor's)

I love this one panel look for Fen, because I love when Fen is decked out in crown/jewels!

The Order (2007) #7

Fen's look in King in Black: Namor (2020) 4-5 is so pretty. Benjamin Dewey is a great artist and I really enjoyed the past Namor sequences and Fen's cameo.

But I think that Fen in Saga of the Sub-Mariner (1988) #1 was amazing. That is definitely the best comic for her because it focused on her character and her slowly falling in love with Leonard.

I actually do think that if Fen doesn't have black hair then she should have brown hair, but again I don't want her with lighter hair colors. lol. However I do think her look here is very cute, during this time period according to the comics Fen would have been an outcast and in exile from Atlantis, so this would have been her raising Namor in the wilds of the ocean. Summary:
