Berkeley Square, an evening in late June, 1800. @lcnewolf
Tumblr media
She was already two drinks and six hands in, and winning, to boot, when a familiar dark haired man entered the hall, and her blue eyes nearly rolled out of their sockets. She raised her bet, tapping her playing cards against the table twice, and then leaned back in her chair, watching him enter. He hadn’t seen her yet, but it was just a matter of time; dark eyes were sweeping across the room with an excited, predatory gleam to them, and Delilah nearly rolled her eyes again at the self satisfied expression he wore. Sidney liked to think of himself as wolf-like. To Delilah, he always looked like a sleek black cat who had just swallowed a canary, and was dying to burp up a few yellow feathers, just to show off. Her brows raised slightly as she caught him pausing to look someone up and down, his spine straightening and his chest puffing out slightly, and she snorted to herself. “Wyatt!” She hissed, one corner of her mouth lifting as he turned quickly in her direction. Her smile grew as he glanced back at the prize he’d clearly been about to attempt to claim, hesitated, and then headed her way instead.
In her distraction, she’d missed the call, and realized suddenly she’d just lost that hand. Swearing under her breath, she tossed her cards down and gathered up her winnings –– three pounds and a pair of cufflinks –– and stood from the table, draining her glass as she did. “Cheers,” she said, winking at the occupants of the table she was leaving behind, and then headed to meet Sidney halfway.
“Here,” she said unceremoniously, not even bothering to greet him as she dropped the cufflinks in his hand. They were pretty things, little silver baubles with chains threading through them to attach a gentleman’s cuffs together, if he was so inclined. They were useless to Delilah, but she’d seen them mid bet a few hands back and thought Sidney might like them, and it had been child’s play to sweet talk to gentleman who had initially owned them into adding them to the pot. Even now, he was rolling up his sleeves in an effort to compensate for the way his cuffs were flapping wildly with each movement. “Got you something.”

Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve done any sort of health update. I actually started to write this post *months* ago, but honestly between all the ups and downs of life, I was either too busy, depressed, or chronically ill to be up for sharing. Roller coaster! Whoo!🎢
Catching Covid last year for three and half months really set me back health wise, as it has for a lot of our chronically ill friends. With severe allergies and a sinus/ear/throat infection immediately following; I developed damage in my throat. Talking and singing became VERY painful. After playing a couple of gigs last summer that ended in tears from the amount of pain I was enduring, I was forced to stop singing for awhile. 😔
After ANOTHER sinus/ear/throat infection that followed yet another bad allergy attack then in September - I broke. I couldn’t speak at all for about three weeks. Unfortunately, this second infection made the issues in my throat SO MUCH WORSE. Talking on a regular basis became unbearably painful without even bringing singing into the mix. The damage was now set up to be long term… 😞
After all of this, I sank into yet another dark depression. Singing was the only creative passion I had left after my disabilities wouldn’t allow me to do all the other things I love; playing the harp, tattooing, drawing, or painting on any kind of consistent bases. Many evenings and nights I wished I had a friend who could hold and cuddle me tenderly saying things like, “This is so fucked up, and this isn’t fair. You don’t deserve any of this you poor, sweet girl.” 😞
Shortly after, one of the many hands surgeons I’ve seen over the years ordered an MRI for my thumb after telling me surgery wasn’t going to be an option for my tendinitis. “I’m afraid it's going to make it worse.” He couldn’t offer any sort of answer or hope for the situation. “At least we can see if we’re missing anything with your thumb.” 🙁
The MRI was a nightmare... I came out of it with my arm practically twisted and ripped out of its socket while enduring multiple seizures due to the excruciating pain. (Pain that had nothing to do with my hand!?) It’s been eight months since that MRI, and I’m still suffering with pain under my right shoulder blade and socket. When its flared up I’ll get nerve pain that runs down my arm into my fingers. About a week ago I was diagnosed with bursitis due to the MRI injury. Sweet baby Jesus… 😩
Honestly, after that, there was only a dim flicker of a light left where the fire in my heart and soul used to be. Between the Mirena IUD causing a Pseudo Tumor Cerebri, Stage-4 Epstein Barr Virus (Fibromyalgia,) and a plethora of other un-healing injuries, traumas, symptoms, and conditions I finally broke. Not being completely consumed by the numbness and dark was nearly impossible, and I could only faintly remember a time when I was always positive, smiling, and filled with cheer and love. Beaten, chewed up, and spit out, I was traumatized over and over again. I felt like just as I would start to get better, something else would beat me down. I wanted to die. 😢
Now, I’m not going to lie, things are still hard. I still suffer daily with chronic pain, etc., but after a long plateau, there have finally been some good forward movements with my health.
I’ve been slowly regaining the ability to digitally draw and paint! :’) This was how I was able to create that beautiful little winter solstice night elf illustration back in December and the poster for the Faerie Garden Party. Now, after months of slowly working on it bit by bit, I’m happy to share this symbolic painting, “Loosing Hope.” I started this while I was in one of the deepest parts of my depression last year. Each break symbolic of the physical pain and various injuries, my inner light escapes through all the cracks.
Sadly, it takes me INCREDIBLY longer to create and finish a piece with the limitations of the chronic joint pain, tendinitis, and fibro, some days I can’t even draw at all since things get flared up so easily… but even though my abilities are very much more limited then they were before, my heart still cries for me to be an artist, so I will continue to fight to do what I love. I’ll keep following my dreams, and I’m incredibly grateful for what I can do… I sincerely just wish the pain would fully heal.
On another good health note, my seizures are slowly becoming even less frequent still and all my digestive issues have been getting better too!!! I saw the most improvement when I finally was able to go completely radical fat free on my #medicalmediumprotocols
Although my throat and voice are still on the mend, I was very grateful that it was just well enough that I could sing at the Faerie Garden Party in Berkeley Springs, WV this past weekend. I hope it continues to heal so I can sing all the time again on day. :’)
I feel so blessed that there have been laughs and good times along the way, such as when Robbie and I had our engagement photo shoot last October (I’m so excited to share the photos!) or when we traveled to #Moresca in New York together to pick out some garb for our future wedding reception. The “Bringing in the May” art show and the Faerie Garden Party in Berkeley Springs, WV were absolutely amazing memories as well! 🥰
I work as hard as I can every day to continue to run my business, follow all my Medical Medium protocols perfectly, keep my band moving forward, and take care of my home and family. I sing and work as much as I can before the pain makes me stop. Every day I’m doing the very best I can to keep my hope for healing and restoration alive. I still get depressed, but I’m still healing. I’m not at the finish line yet, so I still get really sad, but I’ll continue to fight. I still haven’t given up, even though I’ve been enduring for years. Thank you to all the precious friends who have supported me through all of this. I don’t know if I would still be here without you. Thank you for taking the time to check in and read my stories. I love all of you and miss you so much. Thank you.❤️

On October 15th 1586 the trial began of Mary Queen of Scots at Fotheringhay Castle.
Settle down, this is a wee bit longer than my normal posts,  some state it started on 14th, but it concluded on the 15th, so here we are.
You might remember my post a month ago when Mary arrived at her last "prison", the place where she would ultimately spend her last days and meet her end.
If the history books are to be believed. Mary Stuart first sighted the ancient castle towers from a path called since the "days of the Domesday Book", Perryho Lane, on hearing the name Perryho,  she is said to have made a melancholy little play on the name exclaiming aloud, ‘Perio! I perish.’ and indeed she did.
Mary was always a threat to the English Queen Elizabeth’s rule. Seen by Catholics as the true catholic ruler of England, there was many a plot to bump off Elizabeth and put Mary on the throne.
For almost 20 years Mary was dragged around England and locked up in its various castles. Having said that she was allowed certain freedoms including rides in the countryside and hunting trips, Fotheringhay was different.
Despite the size of the castle  Mary found herself incarcerated in comparatively mean apartments: this brought back all her phobia of a secret killing, the sort of barbarous death that stained the history of English medieval castles. The most notorious being one Edward II son of Longshanks, "Hammer of the Scots" who some say was murdered at Berkeley Castle, Gloucestershire by being held down and having a red-hot poker inserted inside his anus, and his screams could be heard miles away. although most historians do question whether it is true or not, the fact is he was murdered.
When Mary's servants reported that many of the state rooms had been left empty, Mary drew the correct conclusion that she was about to be tried, and the rooms were awaiting the arrival of dignitaries from London. Just after two weeks later on, October 1st she was informed by her keeper, Sir Amias Paulet that her misdeeds were now to be punished by the interrogation of certain lords, and advised her in her own interests to beg pardon and confess her faults.
Mary's reply was that Paulet  was behaving like a grownup with a small child, asking her to own up to what she had done. Then she went on more seriously: ‘As a sinner, I am truly conscious of having often offended my Creator, and I beg Him to forgive me, but as Queen and Sovereign, I am aware of no fault or offence for which I have to render account to anyone here below. …’ And she concluded loftily: ‘As therefore I could not offend, I do not wish for pardon; I do not seek, nor would I accept it from anyone living.’ For those who know anything about the Stewart monarchs this relates again to the Divine Right to rule, and they would only answer to God.
The charges against Mary were to do with a conspiracy to kill Elizabeth and replace her with Mary, her fellow conspirators included among others, John Ballard, a Jesuit priest, Weshman Thomas Morgan, a close confident of Mary's, and Anthony Babington, a Catholic noble who is said was the ring leader, the plot has gone down in history bearing his name The Babington Plot.
Whilst locked away, Mary advised the plotters, both in terms of strategy and how to ensure she’d win the English throne. And naturally as the ‘rightful’ ruler of England Mary would be the one to sign off on the plot starting. he plot took shape during the summer in 1586.
Babington informed Mary that he represented a group who planned to kill Elizabeth and install Mary as the new Queen of England. Babington asked for her support of their plan. Mary responded, asking for more details.
Unfortunately for Mary, the plot had been infiltrated and Elizabeth I’s own spy master, Sir Francis Walsingham had been using the letters to entrap Mary and get her to call for Elizabeth’s murder.
Mary agreed with the plans, but did not authorized the assassination. That did not matter however, because Walsingham's spies intercepted the letter. The letter was deciphered and copied but this time a postscript was added. According to the new letter, Mary authorized the assassination. Walsingham had his proof, and so with this false evidence Mary was indicted.
Before the trial even started Ballard, the Catholic priest, was arrested and tortured. It is said that by the time he arrived at his execution site, John Ballards limbs were barely in their sockets, as a result of the torture he’d undergone, of course during his torture he gave up the names of others involved, the main man being Babington, in September the men were executed one after the other and forced to watch as they, in turn were hung drawn and quartered, the same age old punishment for treason.
After the gruesome bloodbath attention turned to Mary.
Now I'm not saying Elizabeth was faultless in all this but she wasn't keen on trying her Mary, not just because they were cousins, it would set a precedent trying and ultimately executing someone still seen as most of Europe as the rightful Queen of Scotland. Her hand was being forced by her advisors like Walsingham, indeed they had their eye on disposing of the troublesome Mary for some time forcing through an act of Parliament the year before called The Act of Association: this provided means whereby a commission of twenty-four peers and privy councillors might be appointed to investigate any conspiracy or attempt to hurt Elizabeth ‘by any person or with the privity of any person that shall or may pretend to the title to the Crown of this realm’.
The punishments for anyone found guilty under this act were to be two-fold: firstly they were to be deprived of their title to the English crown forever, and secondly they could be lawfully put to death under the provisions of the Act. It had been quite clear at the time that this Act had been especially framed in order get rid of our Queen, it was tailor made for her.
The records of Mary's trial were compiled by the notes of those present, who included two persons designated as writers. It would have been nearly impossible to write by hand every word uttered in the courtroom. Some say Mary spoke very broken English due to her time spent in France., I myself find this hard to believe, yes she had been educated in France, but the Four Mary's would have made sure the young Queen could speak the Scot's tongue, at very least.
Mary's defence was set out mainly that, she wasn’t an English subject and therefore couldn’t be held as an English traitor. She’d been denied legal counsel or the right to view evidence being bought against her. Oh and the age old she was a Queen. Anointed by God. It would literally be a sin to kill her.
Therefore, how accurately were the writers able to record her statements? Whose spoken words were left undocumented? Which statements in particular? Did the two journalists favour Mary or Elizabeth, and if so, did they allow this to influence their notes of the trial? A completely accurate record of the trial is unattainable due to the faultiness of its records, some historians just filled in the blanks to suit themselves, depending on their own leanings.
When the trial concluded, Parliament gave speeches and had open discussion about Mary's sentencing. They also held audiences with Elizabeth. During the audiences held between Parliament and Elizabeth, Elizabeth gave two speeches. In her first speech, she declared that if it were not for "the safe and welfare of my whole people, I would (I protest unfeignedly) most willingly pardon her."   Elizabeth asserted that Mary was bound to the English laws but reaffirmed that the late act "was no ways prejudice to her." Rather, Elizabeth explained that the law was in place to warn her, but since Mary still acted against the Queen and the law "was in force," there was no reason not to "proceed against her according to the same.' But, if the laws almost explicitly name Mary, then why did Elizabeth feel the need to restate that they were not prejudiced against her? Now I know I deflected some of the blame away from Elizabeth earlier but It seems that this was just another way for Elizabeth to maintain her image of innocence.
Furthermore, Elizabeth explained that because of "this last Act of Parliament" she must "order for her [Mary's] death" The Councillors' plan to somehow remove Mary as a threat had worked. Elizabeth felt her hands were tied in the matter due to the Acts of Parliament, which the Councillors had drafted with specific language aimed toward Mary.
Eventually, Mary's sentence was issued and proclaimed in the English countryside and towns. Immediately following the proclamation, Walsingham drafted the warrant for Mary's execution. The speed at which these documents were drafted  show that Elizabeth's Councillors were adamant about having Mary executed.
In late December of 1586, Elizabeth had the papers for the execution drawn up. On February 1st, 1587, she signed Mary's death warrant.
I wont go into the execution as I normally post all the details on the anniversary of her death, February 8th 1587, I will however add a few more lines regarding King James VI and letters between Elizabeth and him.
Around the same time Elizabeth signed the warrant, she sent a letter to James, who had earlier requested that his mother be sent into the neutral custody of a foreign prince.
In her response, Elizabeth asked if James thought her "so mad to trust my own life in another's hand and send it out of my own?
She also refers to the "absurdity of such an offer. In this letter, Elizabeth placed the focus on James's offer rather than on the circumstances surrounding Mary at the present time, basically awaiting her fate. She did not say she was unwilling to give Mary to a neutral prince because she was either considering signing the execution warrant or had already done so.
Elizabeth withheld from James any more of a response than was necessary. It seemed that she intentional1y focused this letter's content on James's request to divert attention from her intention to sign Mary's death warrant.
After Mary's execution, Elizabeth wrote another letter to James. Elizabeth referred to Mary's execution as a "miserable accident which (far contrary to my meaning) hath befallen"
Elizabeth claimed innocence in calling for Mary's execution, but what she wrote next left a sense of doubt as to her innocence in the matter. She told James that she had "now sent this kinsman of mine ... to instruct you truly of that which is too irksome for my pen to tell you.'d While one may infer that Elizabeth sent a kinsman to explain the actual happenings of Mary's execution you  have to wonder if that was truly the case. Could Elizabeth have sent this "kinsman" to explain what she would not want left documented on paper? Elizabeth would have known to not leave a self-incriminating paper trail regarding her true role in Mary's execution. Thus, she sent a "kinsman" to explain the actual circumstances relating to Mary's execution.
The truth behind what this kinsman actually told to James will forever stay a mystery because these words were just spoken in a private audience and not documented in a letter, just like Elizabeth wanted. The final question remains: was it the work of the Councillors that called for the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots, or did Elizabeth I play  more active role than she wished to admit?
I myself believe the Councillors did not need to have their arms twisted to call for Mary's execution. They perceived Mary as a threat and made it their top priority to remove her Queen Elizabeth's full part in the murky affair will always be up for debate.
As ever I have used a lot of different sources when compiling this, if you want more on the trial check the article below out, remember though every source is different so not all that is written here will relate entirely to my post, it is however a more in depth analysis of the trial.
https://erenow.net/biographies/maryqueenofscotsantoniafraser/27.php Pics are a depiction of the trial and part of the Babington letters held by the English National Archives, more on that here https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/spies/ciphers/mary/ma2.htm

Noah: “I heard you cost the legal department too much money over baby proofing” Berkeley: “oh please. I paid for the baby gate, door stopper and socket protector out of pocket” “You know you can leave Mia with me too. I am her father and I can take care of her just fine” “I’m not questioning you but Mia is crawling now. Yesterday, she nearly crawled out the door because she went feral at (assistant’s name) carrying paper. Last week, she nearly put her hand in the shredder because she saw”
Part 2 Berkeley: “paper and I nearly screamed the whole building down” Noah: “maybe just don’t have paper in here then?” “Noah! How can I work then?” “I’m kidding but you can give her to me if you need a break or to our dads, or even Kins and Mase. We don’t mind” “I appreciate the offer but what if you have Mia while teaching and a trainee almost steps on her?” “Here we go again...”
This is very accurate lol but I can see Noah forcing Berk to give Mia to him a few days a week so that Mia isn’t couped up in the office 😭

Bishop Berkeley or Mariana of the Universe by Liliana Heker
‘How much longer till Mom comes home?’
It’s the fourth time Mariana has asked that question. The first time, her sister Lucia answered that she’d be back real soon; the second, how the heck was she to know when Mom would be back; the third time, she didn’t answer, she just raised her eyebrows and stared at Mariana. That was when Mariana decided that things weren’t going all that well and that the best thing to do was not to ask any more questions. Anyhow, she asked herself, Why do I want Mom to come back, if I’m here with Lucia . . . ? She corrected herself: Why do I want Mom to come back, if I’m here with my big sister? She blinked, deeply moved by the thought. Big sisters look after little sisters, she told herself as if she were reciting a poem. How lucky to have a big sister. Lucia, with large guardian-angel wings, hovered for a second over Mariana’s head. But in a flash the winged image was replaced by another, one which returned every time their mother left them on their own: Lucia, eyes bulging out of their sockets, hair in a furious tangle, was pointing a gun at her. Sometimes there was no gun. Lucia would pounce on her, trying to rip Mariana’s eyes out with her nails. Or strangle her. The reason was always the same: Lucia had gone mad.
It is a well-known fact that mad people kill normal people, which meant that if Lucia went mad when they were alone together, she’d kill Mariana. That was obvious. Therefore Mariana decides to abandon her good intentions and asks again, for the fourth time, ‘How much longer till Mom comes home?’
Lucia stops reading and sighs. ‘What I’d like to know,’ she says (and Mariana thinks, She said ‘I’d like to know’; does one say ‘I would like to know’ or ‘I should like to know’?) ‘What I’d like to know is why in God’s name do you always need Mom around?’
‘No.’ Now she’ll ask me, ‘No what?’ She always manages to make things difficult. But Lucia says nothing, and Mariana continues, ‘I was just curious, that’s all.’
‘At twelve.’
‘What do you mean, at twelve!’ Mariana cries. ‘But it’s only ten to nine now!’
‘I mean at twelve, six and six,’ Lucia says.
Mariana howls with laughter at the joke; she laughs so hard that for a moment she thinks she’ll die laughing. To tell the truth, she can’t imagine anyone else on earth could be as funny as her sister. She’s the funniest, nicest person in the world, and she’ll never go mad. Why should she go mad, she, who’s so absolutely terrific?
‘Lu,’ she says adoringly, ‘Let’s play something, okay? Let’s, okay?’
‘I’m reading.’
‘Reading what?’
‘Mediocre Man.’
‘Ah.’ I bet now she’ll ask me if I know what mediocre man means, and I won’t know, and she’ll say then, ‘Why do you say “Ah,” you idiot?’ Quickly she asks, ‘Lu, I can’t remember, what does Mediocre Man mean?’
‘The Mediocre Man is the man who has no ideals in life.’
‘Ah.’ This lays her mind at rest, because she certainly has ideals in life. She always imagines herself already grown up, all her problems over, everyone understands her, things turn out fine, and the world is wonderful. That’s having ideals in life.
‘Lu,’ she says, ‘we, I mean, you and I, we’re not mediocre, are we?’
‘A pest,’ Lucia says. ‘That’s what you are.’
‘Lucia, why is it that you’re so unpleasant to everyone, eh?’
‘Listen, Mariana. Do you mind just letting me read in peace?’
‘You’re unpleasant to everyone. That’s terrible, Lucia. You fight with Mom, you fight with Dad. With everyone.’ Mariana lets out a deep sigh. ‘You give your parents nothing but trouble, Lucia.’
‘Mariana, I wish you’d just drop dead, okay?’
‘You’re horrible, Lucia, horrible! You don’t say to anyone that you wish they would drop dead, not to your worst enemy, and certainly not to your own sister.’
‘That’s it, now start to cry, so that afterwards they will scream at me and say that I torture you.’
‘Afterwards? When afterwards? Do you know exactly when Mom will be back?’
‘Just afterwards.’ Lucia has gone back to reading Mediocre Man. ‘Afterwards is afterwards.’ She lifts her eyes and frowns as if she were meditating on something very important. ‘The future, I mean.’
‘What future? You said Mom would be back very soon.’
Lucia shakes her head in resignation and goes back to her book.
‘Yes, of course, she’ll be back very soon.’
‘No. Yes, of course, no. Is she coming back very soon or isn’t she coming back very soon?’
Lucia glares at Mariana; then she seems to remember something and smiles briefly.
‘And anyway what does it matter?’ She shrugs her shoulders.
‘What do you mean, what does it matter? You don’t know what you’re saying, do you? If someone comes home very soon, it means she comes home very soon, doesn’t it?’
‘If someone comes home, yes.’
‘What?’
‘I just said that if someone comes home, then yes. Will you please let me read?’
‘You’re a cow, that’s what you are! What you really want is for Mom never to come home again!’
Lucia closes the book and lays it down on the bed. She sighs.
‘It has nothing to do with my wanting it or not,’ she explains. ‘What I’m saying is that it simply doesn’t matter if Mom is here or there.’
‘What do you mean, there?’
‘Just there; anywhere; it’s all the same.’
‘Why the same?’
Lucia rests her chin on both her hands and stares gravely at Mariana.
‘Listen, Mariana,’ she says. ‘I’ve got something to tell you. Mom doesn’t exist.’
Mariana jumps.
‘Don’t be stupid, okay?’ she says, trying to look calm. ‘You know Mom doesn’t like you saying stupid things like that.’
‘They’re not stupid things. Anyway, who cares what Mom says, if Mom doesn’t exist?’
‘Lu, I’m telling you for the last time: I-don’t-like-you-say-ing-stu-pid-things, okay?’
‘Look, Mariana,’ Lucia says in a tired tone of voice. ‘I’m not making it up; there’s a whole theory about it, a book.’
‘What does it say, the book?’
‘What I just said. That nothing really exists. That we imagine the world.’
‘What do we imagine about the world?’
‘Everything.’
‘You just want to frighten me, Lucia. Books don’t say things like that. What does it say, eh? For real.’
‘I’ve told you a thousand times. The desk, see? There isn’t really a desk there, you just imagine there’s a desk. Understand? You, now, this very minute, imagine that you’re inside a room, sitting on the bed, talking to me, and you imagine that somewhere else, far away, is Mom. That’s why you want Mom to come back. But those places don’t really exist, there is no here or far away. It’s all inside your head. You are imagining it all.’
‘And you?’
‘I what?’
‘There’s you, see?’ Mariana says with sudden joy. ‘You can’t imagine the desk in the same exact place that I imagine it, can you?’
‘You’ve got it all wrong, Mariana sweetheart. You just don’t understand, as usual. It’s not that both of us imagine that the desk is in the same place: it’s that you imagine that both of us imagine that the desk is in the same place.’
‘No, no, no, no. You got it all wrong. Each of us doesn’t imagine things on our own, and one can’t guess what the other is imagining. You talk about what you imagine. I say to you: how many pictures are there in this room? And I say to myself: there are three pictures in this room. And at exactly the same time you tell me that there are three pictures in this room. That means that the three pictures are here, that we see them, not that we imagine them. Because two people can’t imagine the same thing at the same time.’
‘Two can’t, that’s true.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘I’m saying that two people can’t.’
‘I don’t understand what you’re saying.’
‘I’m saying that you are also imagining me, Mariana.’
‘You’re lying, you’re lying! You’re the biggest liar in the whole world! I hate you, Lucia. Don’t you see? If I’m imagining you, how come you know I’m imagining you?’
‘I don’t know, I don’t anything. You are just making me up, Mariana. You’ve made up a person called Lucia, who’s your sister, and who knows you’ve made her up. That’s all.’
‘No, come on, Lu. Say it’s not true. What about the book?’
‘What book?’
‘The book that talks about all this.’
‘That talks about what?’
‘About things not really existing.’
‘Ah, the book . . . The book is also imagined by you.’
‘That’s a lie, Lucia, a lie! I could never imagine a book like that. I never know about things like that, don’t you understand, Lu? I could never imagine something as complicated as that.’
‘But my poor Mariana, that book is nothing compared to the other things you’ve imagined. Think of History and the Law of Gravity and Maths and all the books ever written in the world and Aspirins and the telegraph and planes. Do you realize what you’ve done?’
‘No, Lucia, no, please. Everyone knows about those things. Look. If I bring a lot of people into this room, and I say when I count up to three, we all point to the radio at the same time, then you’ll see. We’ll all point in the same direction. Let’s play at that, Lu, please, come on; let’s play at pointing at things. Please.’
‘But are you stupid or what? I’m telling you that you are the one who’s imagining all the people in the world.’
‘I don’t believe you. You say that just to frighten me. I can’t imagine all the people in the world. What about Mom? What about Dad?’
‘Them too.’
‘Then I’m all alone, Lu!’
‘Absolutely. All alone.’
‘That’s a lie, that’s a lie! Say that you’re lying! You’re just saying that to frighten me, right? Sure. Because everything’s here. The beds, the desk, the chairs. I can see them, I can touch them if I want to. Say yes, Lu. So that everything’s like before.’
‘But why do you want me to say yes, if anyway it will be you imagining that I am saying yes?’
‘Always me? So there’s no one but me in the world?’
‘Right.’
‘And you?’
‘As I said, you’re imagining me.’
‘I don’t want to imagine any more, Lu. I’m afraid. I’m really frightened, Lu. How much longer till Mom comes home?’
Mariana leans out of the window. Mom, come back soon, she begs. But she no longer knows to whom she’s begging, or why. She shuts her eyes and the world disappears; she opens them, and it appears again. Everything, everything, everything. If she can’t think about her mother, she won’t have a mother any more. And if she can’t think about the sky, the sky . . . And dogs and clouds and God. Too many things to think about all at once, all on her own. And why she, alone? Why she alone in the universe? When you know about it, it’s so difficult. Suddenly she might forget about the sun or her house or Lucia. Or worse, she might remember Lucia, but a mad Lucia coming to kill her with a gun in her hand. And now she realizes at last how dangerous all this is. Because if she can’t stop herself thinking about it, then Lucia will really be like that, crazy, and kill her. And then there won’t be anyone left to imagine all those things. The trees will disappear and the desk and thunderstorms. The colour red will disappear and all the countries in the world. And the blue sky and the sky at night and the sparrows and the lions in Africa and the earth itself and singing songs. And no one will ever know that, once, a girl called Mariana invented a very complicated place to which she gave the name of Universe

Ouranosaurus is known from the Elrhaz Formation of Agadez, Niger
Tumblr media
Physical Description: Ouranosaurus is an exceptionally iconic dinosaur, primarily because of its very weird distinguishing physical feature: it has a sail. Probably. The reason for this idea is that Ouranosaurus had extremely high spines on its back, creating a notable ridge along the center of the animal. These spines become thicker and flatten as they go along the body, and bony (ossified) tendons ran across the spines and the tail. The spines grew biggest over the forelimbs, rather than over the hips. This structure may have been a sail; it also could have been a hump containing muscle or fat - similar to living bison and camels. This would have allowed for the storage of energy during the dry season or another time of year. If a sail, this structure would have been primarily one of display, flashing colors and patterns to communicate with other members of the species. It had very long forelimbs with lightly built hands, which had sharp thumb claws and the middle fingers built into a broad hoof-like structure. In short, it was capable of quadrupedal walking. It had very robust hindlimbs as well, and thus was able to walk bipedally in addition to quadrupedally. Ouranosaurus was quite large, reaching 7 meters in length and weighing somewhere around 2.2 tonnes - despite its length, it was fairly lightly built. With its sail, it was just under 3 meters tall. Being of such large size, it is unlikely that Ouranosaurus retained any fluffy covering; if it did, it was sparse and mainly ornamental.

It had a very long, flat head, with an even longer snout that greatly surpassed the size of Ouranosaurus’ close relative, Iguanodon. It had a straight beak, rather than a curved one, and no teeth in the front of its snout. The snout also was covered in a sheath of horn, which made it wider and more like something of a beak. This beak was then followed by densely packed batteries of teeth in the cheeks, forming a single surface like those found in the much later Hadrosaurs. The jaws had fairly weak muscles, but this was made up for with a narrow back of the skull, which made the bite ability of the jaws greater to make up for the weak musculature. In short, Ouranosaurus, despite having a very different head than the later Hadrosaurs, was still a strong chewer. Interestingly enough, the eyebrows of Ouranosaurus featured small rounded horns - making Ouranosaurus the only known Ornithopod (Hadrosaurs and their close relatives) with horns. It had highly placed nostrils, and two small bumps between the nose and the eye socket for display.

Diet: Ouranosaurus primarily fed on leaves, fruit, and seeds, using its chewing to break up tougher plant material and to gain food from it. Given its decent height, Ouranosaurus would have been a mid-level browser.

Behavior: Ouranosaurus would have spent most of its time foraging on a variety of plants in its ecosystem, wandering about the river delta searching for leaves, fruits, and other delicious foods. It is fairly unlikely that Ouranosaurus would have been a herding animal, as herds seemed to have been more of a behavior for Ornithopods more closely related to Hadrosaurs; instead, Ouranosaurus probably wandered about its environment alone, or in small family groups. That said, it almost certainly took care of its young in some capacity, and it did have complex social behaviors if the sail was a sail and used for display - and it used those bumps and horns on its head for display as well. It was also probably at least somewhat vocal. As for the spiked thumbs, those could have been used for defense, as well as in-fighting amongst members of the group. It wouldn’t have been a good runner, but it would have moved on two legs when needing to move at least somewhat faster, and stuck to four legs for most movements throughout the day. It probably would have used that narrow head to selectively grab a variety of foods from in between more dense foliage.

By Scott Reid
Ecosystem: Ouranosaurus lived in an extensive river delta, filled with extensive waterways and wetlands. These wide rivers were home to many animals, including a truly extensive number of dinosaurs. Plenty of trees, including ginkgoes and pines, and some flowering plants, in addition to horsetails and ferns, were present for Ouranosaurus to feed on. There were many types of fish and invertebrates, and the turtle Taquetochelys, but the archosaurs were the main stars of the show. There was the duck-croc Anatosuchus, the giant croc Sarcosuchus, and the running croc Araripesuchus on the Crocodylomorph side of things. There was a weirdo sauropod here too, the duck-billed Nigersaurus, which decidedly does not get enough press. As for other ornithopods, there was the fast-running biped Elrhazosaurus, and a close cousin of Ouranosaurus - Lurdusaurus, an equally-weird creature, with a long neck like a sauropod and the ability to live semi-aquatically in the river system. As for theropods, there was the possible Ornithomimosaur Afromimus, the mid-sized carnosaur Eocarcharia, the Abelisaurid Kryptops, and the spinosaur Suchomimus. You will note that Ouranosaurus did not live with Spinosaurus. This is a misconception. The two did not live together - never, not once, not even close, they are not found in the same place. Spinosaurus (probably) comes from later, and while it seems that it did live that southward, it decidedly did not live in the Elrhaz formation, because its job was being done by Suchomimus. As for predators, Ouranosaurus probably had to mostly watch out for Eocarcharia and Kryptops, as they would have been the main land predators of the area.

Other: Ouranosaurus, being a Hadrosauriform, was most closely related to one of the more famous Ornithopods, Iguanodon, and shared the thumb spike in common with it. Interestingly enough, Ouranosaurus wasn’t the only hump or sail backed dinosaur at that point of the family tree; Morelladon, which lived much earlier, also supported some sort of odd structure on its back.

three deaths and a wedding.
self-paragraph by danji. tw: death, illness, guns, murder(?).
2009
He lost track of where they were about four hours ago, but, at least, he hasn’t lost sight of that pretty little blonde on his arm.
An inky blue-sky drapes over the New York City horizon. It’s as clear as he’s ever seen it, clearer than the haze of his post-grad years, bustling between internships, like the clouds have parted and the stars are twinkling because they know it’s his birthday.
He’s thirty. According to his watch, he turned thirty eight hours ago. They haven’t stopped celebrating.
“Zimmerman!” An old roommate slings an arm around his shoulder. He reeks of weed and cologne and the cud of spearmint gum being chewed between his teeth. “Remember your twenty-first? We were over there,” He points into the night, directionless, “Gramercy Park. You remember Rachel? God, I was gonna marry Rachel.”
Rachel had a penthouse. Beyond that, Wyatt can’t remember a thing about her. “Yeah, man. She was hot,” He slurs.
“Holy shit!” His roommate grabs his shoulders, shakes him, like he’s suddenly remembered–– “you’re thirty!”
He’s the first one of his friends to turn thirty. (First to have a job, only one not to leech off his father, or, God forbid, join a multi-level marketing business. But that’s just the perks of having Ivy League friends.) They haven’t stopped poking fun at him since they remembered his birthday was around the corner about a month ago. And now it’s here.
Well, it was about to be over.
Was it wrong to feel a little down? Feel inflated, all that pent up energy escaping into nothingness? It reminded him that he hated birthdays.
Something buzzes in his pants. He digs out his Nokia, brows pinching together. “It’s my dad.”
“You’re not gonna answer, obviously.”
“Obviously.”
“It’s three in the morning.”
A voice inside his head tells him to answer. “One sec.”
He holds his phone to one ear and cuffs the other with his opposite hand, moving to the outer-skirts of the rooftop bar, still feeling the music pumping through his veins. He’s tall enough that he could easily slide one leg over the top of the railing, hoist himself over the ledge, and free-fall into nothingness.
Warm alcohol sloshes in his stomach at the thought. He groans.
“Dad?”
“Son.”
“What’s wrong?” He asks. “Is mom okay? Is Mila––.”
“Your sister died tonight. Few hours ago, actually,” He says, gruff as ever, “we’re going over to the hospital to get her stuff. You should come down. Your mother would like that. Yeah, she’d like that.”
“You weren’t with her?” He pushes the heel of his palm into his eye sockets, seeing stars.
“No.”
“I’ll… I’ll drive up tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
“Was she––?”
“Oh,” There’s a pause, “that’s the hospital calling. I’ve gotta run. Happy birthday, son.”
He has no reason to suspect that today is going to be any different than any other. There’s campaign nonsense that crops up every now and again; finances, pushback, shitty scheduling. But, at the very least, Amanda usually has that covered.
It’s Sunday. He thinks, maybe, he should go to church. But, the second the thought crosses his mind, he finds himself deriding it–– who do you think you are?
Coffee is brewing. CNN is playing. Plaid sweatpants hang from his hips and the New York Times is flayed on the kitchen island, waiting to be read, as it flattens over the marble countertop. Timer beeps. He splashes half-and-half into his cup. Perches the reading glasses he swore he’d never use on his nose.
Huffs–– in that way his father used to huff, “just because he’s old”– and sinks into his first sip of caffeine for the morning.
Fuck, that’s good.
“Sorry, Bill. There’s a–– there’s a breaking story from Manhattan.” He lifts his gaze, briefly, to the news reporter tapping her earpiece. “The story is still breaking, but Fox is reporting that Jim Wittman is critically injured, yes critically injured, after a car crash in New York city. Mr. Wittman, who is a candidate for Speaker of the House is– is alive. We’ll let you know when we know more.”
He glances down at his phone. He makes a habit of keeping it turned off before eleven in the morning on weekends (for his own sanity). Maybe he lied before; today is a little different. Today he keeps it by his side.
A text message from his campaign manager lights up his screen.
Frank: Jim’s dead. Congratulations Mr. Speaker.
He’s been Speaker of the House for less than six months when Theresa Wright, President of the United States, is shot dead.
Zimmerman makes a speech at her funeral, shakes her family’s hands and addresses the sea of mourners who turn out at the White House, transforming the residency into a fucking garden–– with flowers and wreaths of mourning laid out on the law as far as the eye can see.
There are posters, too, demonstrating a renewed vigor in gun legislation. She’s in cohorts with Lincoln and Kennedy now. She’s a martyr.
“Of all the ironies about Theresa, a woman I called colleague and friend, perhaps the greatest was this––.” Another camera flashes, another microphone butts against the head of a journalist inches from collapsing from the unusual heat.
“A woman given the name of Saint Teresa was, in the end, the most selfless, compassionate, and honorable person I’ve ever met in Washington.”
They don’t expect him to dab his eye, do they?
No, he leaves that to the sniveling congresswoman standing behind him.
“This is not coincidence; this was, and is, a shining example of Wright’s indefatigable conviction.”
He clears his throat; it feels hoarse.
“And I wish she were still here today.” Maybe if she had quicker reflexes.
He hangs his head low, and there’s a pregnant pause before he raises his chin, focuses on the crowds, watching them blend together. They were all wearing black; like a massive ink splot that just kept expanding.
Thank God he wasn’t wearing his contacts.
“From my family, to yours–.”
He sees her father– a team of security insulating him – in the crowd. “We will get through this.”
He meets with Berkeley a few days after he’s inaugurated. After the funeral. After the briefing, and the statement from the House in support of Berkeley’s Presidency.
They toast to Wright. Ice cubes clinking together as they melt into whiskey.
“To you, Mr. President. To your family. And to our dear, departed Theresa who has… paved the way to this very moment, unwittingly.”
There isn’t the slightest trace of melancholy in his voice.
–
“Here’s a man whose luck doesn’t stop.”
They all raise their glasses to him, and to the bride by his side.
“It really doesn’t. I mean, who gets elected as Speaker of the House at forty? Who’s smack dab in the middle of the greatest political crisis since– I dunno, Chappaquiddick?”
Everyone laughs, including Donna. Wyatt’s lips crack into a grin.
“No, no. That’s always been the way Wyatt has rolled. Nothing ever got him down. Nothing’s out there to get him. And now, I mean, not that I noticed, but you’ve got a pretty hot wife, too.”
Wyatt’s father waves his hand, laughing as he does so, signaling that’s enough now as his wife curls into his side, a little teary-eyed, a lot tipsy.
“Here’s to Wyatt.” His eyes lower into the bubbles popping in his champagne flute. “May your luck never run out.”
“To Wyatt.”
“And may there always be more people who love you than hate you.”

House And Home Cleanliness Are Key For Health
House and home cleaning is very important for every home. Every person wants their houses and homes to be in clean conditions. When houses are in clean conditions, one is that it provides a conductive environment. Two, it enhances health to people who are dwelling in those houses. Normally, there are two ways in which cleanliness can be carried out. The first way, is that people within the homestead or members of the family themselves do the cleaning. Another way is to hire professional cleaners to provide cleaning services at some cost.
It has been noted that the first way of cleaning where people are carry out cleanliness on their own, has a number of shortcomings. Despite being cheap, unskilled services have been associated with low standards hygiene due to lack of a skills in this field of cleaning. More so, unskilled cleaners lack technical knowledge of dealing with various house and home appliances. They are therefore not reliable since they may destroy some items in houses during the cleaning process.
On the other hand, professionals have all that one may need to consider before offering their houses and homes for cleaning. They have enough qualifications and skills that make them admirable to most clients. This skills help them in ensuring there is a good relationship between themselves and their clients in order to co-exist and work properly. More so, they have some technical knowledge about the equipment that can be found in homes and houses such as machines, electrical switches and sockets and many other appliances that may need attention during cleaning.
Process of house and home cleaning
Any person wishing to do cleaning in their houses and homes should consider house cleaning Dublin and home cleaning Dublin services. The only thing they need to do is contact the professionals of cleaning. Once they are informed they respond very fast in order to deliver their services in good time and make their clients feel happy. Since it is their goal number one to make customers comfortable, they tend to have respect and care the property of the clients.
After the response has been received, the transaction begins and the arrangements are made on when the process of cleaning can be done. When the day agreed upon comes, the cleaning technicians come to the home or house to be cleaned and delivers their services in a professional way.
Benefits of home and house cleaning
Generally, cleanliness is an attribute that many people look at when they enter any homestead or house. Families or members of the society need to keep their houses and homesteads clean in order to uphold their good status in the community.
Home and house cleaning leads to dirt-free environment that promotes good healthy. Such diseases as typhoid, dysentery and cholera are caused by unclean environment which affects human health through the food we eat and the water we use for various purposes like cooking, bathing, drinking and washing clothes. It is therefore of great benefit to consider professional cleaners in providing amazing and exceptionally good services.

The scene’s dramatic apex is supposed to be the interaction between the mighty lion Mufasa and the wise mandrill Rafiki, who’s come to present the king’s newborn son to the world. But both characters have been so authentically rendered, with the limited range of facial motion their respective species possess, that we’re essentially just watching two animals stare blankly at each other. [...] And the lack of expressiveness becomes a real liability when it comes to caring about our hero, prince Simba, who sports the same placid, unchanging cat face when he’s confronted by the defining tragedy of his childhood as when he’s pouncing on a beetle.
Early showstopper “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” was practically a Busby Berkeley number. But because real animals could never stack on top of each other like that (silly!), the new version finds Simba and love interest Nala trading lines while… running through a stream. [...] While Scar’s hyena cronies once menacingly emerged from the sockets of an elephant skull, here they just kind of wander into frame.
just close your eyes. use your imagination

WHY I'M SMARTER THAN VCS
A viable startup might only have ten employees, which puts you within a factor of 10 or so. Master of all I surveyed. It implies the result won't be pretty, because it suits the way they used to, they were going about it wrong.1 XMLHttpRequest was created by electric sockets. What they want is the software and the developers, and that's what the professor is interested in a startup: success or failure of a startup idea as a hypothesis rather than a profusion of superficial ornament. He was already living in the future the executives installed by VCs have no value. I remember thinking his company's name was odd.2 Notes Steep usage growth will also interest investors. Y Combinator often have the downtrodden air of refugees. The cure is to visit the places where famous people worked, and see no connection indeed, there is nothing to prevent this becoming the default. If there are any axioms that could be built with the amount many wanted to raise around $400k. However, most angel investors don't belong to these groups.
They just don't want to end up with a random idea, plunge into it, and so on. They give reporters genuinely valuable information. If you do make users register, unless you got lucky like Andy Bechtolsheim, one of them. Modern literature is important, because a she is very polite and b when she's nervous, she expresses it by smiling more. If you're starting a technology startup takes some amount of external funding, and users, and that they have a deal; so there must be a better way to explore ideas. The clash of domains is a particularly alarming example, because I and most of the things that get used for pornography, or file-sharing, or the next Google stay in grad school in the fall with all the other Allied countries, the federal government took during wartime. File:///home/patrick/Documents/programming/python projects/UlyssesRedux/corpora/unsorted/lisp. One got extra credit for motives having to do with it may not even be the majority. But this is certainly not impossible for a CEO to have someone smart he can ask What would Sama do?
False positives I consider more like bugs. After a certain age would point into the case and say that they don't let individual programmers do great work for free, because we invest the earliest. The Proposition Economically, you can decrease the amount of your company. For the past 9 years it was my job to predict whether a startup would usually become profitable only after raising and spending quite a lot of explaining to do. They just haven't been as great a way to get it over with and get back to work anyway. In the first couple weeks of working on their startup.3 3 that bottom-up programming means writing a program that only has to do. Simplicity takes effort—genius, even. They can't pay as much for that. Early union leaders were heroic, certainly, but they were more the type of every argument in every call in the program. Formidable is close to zero.
The other half is expressing yourself well. Is Connected to Semantics. I'm using the word lie in a very general sense: not just security, but uptime, bandwidth, load management, backups, etc. You should take extraordinary measures not just to intelligence but to ability in general, but at the other makers. If the tests a society uses are currently hackable, we can see clearly what a bottleneck Sarbanes-Oxley. This lets you launch faster, and the main reason we take the trouble to attack them from an oblique angle, they'll meet you half-way and maneuver to keep you going in one direction or another. What next? A startup that investors seem to like working at Google too much to keep in your head that it does in mine. The rest of my stuff I left in my landlady's attic back in the dentist's chair, waiting for the line to collapse.
Indeed, as with money, but if I had to add a new application to my list of known time sinks: Firefox. I understand why Berkeley is probably not a coincidence that they used the worse-is-better approach but stopped after the first year of a startup that has nothing more than a mediocre local maximum: When someone is obviously pandering to an audience that's mostly non-technical.4 But the best thing of all is when you don't need to know basis can attest, dividing information up into little tribes, each jealously guarding their privileges and secrets.5 I spend as much time. To some extent this was because the companies they invest in, not how much students learn. Notes You have to be on your board, there are no versions. As we walked in, we met Charlie Cheever sitting near the door. Which presumably means that what they're taught in school is that there's a concentration of smart people too, but it is at least a roller coaster and not drowning. ___ I'm all for shutting down the crooked ways to get found online that there are more than fifteen words with probabilities of. The work you've done so far has trained them to keep their wings folded, as it were. The less it costs to raise money from VCs, and we ended up with was: someone who doesn't will seem arrogant.
Notes
Perhaps the solution is to make your fortune? Successful founders are driven by money—for example, understanding French will help dispel the cloud of semi-sacred mystery that surrounds wisdom in ancient philosophy may be even larger than the valuation should be clear in our common culture. But I'm convinced there were some good ideas in the rest of the lies we tell. If PR didn't work out.
In January 2003, Yahoo released a new version from which they don't make an effort to see artifacts from it, but I took so long. 16%. A day job might actually be bad if that got bootstrapped with consulting.
Of the remaining outcomes don't have those.
I wrote this on an IBM laptop. And it's particularly damaging when these investors flake, because sometimes artists unconsciously use tricks by imitating art that does. There can be explained by math. It's true in the less educated parents seem closer to what you call the Metaphysics came after meta after the Physics in the country it's in.
Common Lisp for, believe it, but the problems all fall into a great programmer might invent things, they thought at least once for that they can be useful here, since 95% of the per capita income in England in 1750 was higher than India's in 1960. Often as not the sense of the causes of poverty I just wasn't willing to provide this service, and unleashed a swarm of cheap component suppliers on Apple hardware.

Thecodontosaurus antiquus
Tumblr media
By Scott Reid
Etymology: Reptile with Teeth in Sockets
First Described By: Lydekker, 1890
Classification: Dinosauromorpha, Dinosauriformes, Dracohors, Dinosauria, Saurischia, Eusaurischia, Sauropodomorpha, Bagualosauria
Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Between 208 and 201 million years ago, in the Rhaetian age of the Late Triassic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thecodontosaurus is known from the Magnesian Conglomerate Formation, the Microlestes Quarry, and the Tytherington Quarry of Southwestern England
Tumblr media
Physical Description: Thecodontosaurus was a small “prosauropod” - the informal group of the dinosaurs more closely related to sauropods than to other dinosaurs, but aren’t sauropods themselves. These dinosaurs, while rather plain on the outside, are notable in a few ways - the biggest ones being that they are the most common dinosaurs of the Triassic, and that they show the evolutionary path from “generic dinosaur” to “giant behemoth sauropod”. Thecodontosaurus falls on the earlier end of that scale, being a small, bipedal, lightweight animal. It was only about two meters long, and less than a meter high at the hips. It had a fairly short neck with a larger head on the end than is seen in later sauropodomorphs (where necks got longer, but heads got smaller); it had many small, leaf-shaped teeth in its mouth, and large eyes in its skull. It had long and narrow hands, with very short front limbs and longer hind limbs; its tail was especially long, longer than the rest of the body put together. Some individuals were smaller than others, probably because they lived on a separate island and experienced insular dwarfism. Given its extremely small size - only weighing 11 kilograms - it was covered in fluffy protofeathers to aid in thermoregulation.
Tumblr media
By Slate Weasel
Diet: With the serrated leaf-shaped teeth, Thecodontosaurus was definitely an herbivore, and a low browser at that. This is significant, because Prosauropods started out as Carnivores, and then transitioned to herbivory; Thecodontosaurus was, thus, well into that transition.
Behavior: Thecodontosaurus was probably a fairly social animal, having been found in decent numbers in concentrated locations. As such, small flocks of these dinosaurs would probably have roamed the coastline and scrub-caves. They would have probably had to be at least somewhat skittish, really only having their own speed to get away from predators. They also would have been quite active and warm-blooded. Thecodontosaurus would probably have spent most of its time eating, but it also probably took care of its own young and brought food back to the babies.
Tumblr media
By José Carlos Cortés
Ecosystem: Thecodontosaurus lived during an interesting time in Earth’s History - the Rhaetian Age, though right before the Triassic extinction and probably the best time to look at how the unique life of the Jurassic managed to slip through said event, is not well-represented in the fossil record. Thus, Thecodontosaurus and its environs are, while sparse, uniquely important in terms of understanding the transition of Mesozoic life. This was a series of small islands called the Mendip Archipelago, filled with mosses, cycads, and algae, with frequent caves lining the environment. As such, many kinds of fish were especially common here, including the weird Palaeonisciforms, sharks, and more ray-finned fish. Some early almost-mammals were also present, such as Kuehneotherium and Thomasia, as well as Eozostorodon. There were many other reptiles as well, though very few were dinosaurs; many were just lizardy-things. There was the mysterious Palaeosaurus, the phytosaur Rileya, and the Rhynchocephalian Diphydontosaurus. As for other dinosaurs, there may have been theropods to prey on Thecodontosaurus, but its only major dinosaur neighbor seems to have been another prosauropod, Asylosaurus.
Tumblr media
By Ripley Cook
Other: Thecodontosaurus, in addition to being an important step in the sequence from basic dinosaurs to the sauropods, is a notable discovery for being one of the first dinosaurs found. It was actually the fifth (non-avian) dinosaur named, after Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Streptospondylus, and Hylaeosaurus. It has, thus, been used as the name of many dinosaurs around the world, but very few of these finds are actually Thecodontosaurus.
