Mind some nicoeli 28? Thank you very much!
28 - “Marry me”
Setting sun: check.
Dramatic wind, but not dramatic enough to mess up hair:check.
Crowded streets filled with clueless, gullible people:check.
Random hot stranger: definitelycheck.
Perfect.
Nico grinned. Finally, after a whole two hours ofbrainstorming, she was ready to execute her master plan. Step 1: Cause a scandal.Step 2: Get rich. What could go wrong? Absolutely nothing. One more timerunning down the checklist, a quick adjustment to her tux, and she was ready. She stepped out from behind the dumpster in the alleyway, slipped between thecrowd of people, and dropped to her knee right in front of the gorgeous blondstranger walking her way. Nico looked up, the serious expression on her face almostruined by the thoughts of success speeding through her mind, and pulled out abox.
“Will you marry me?”
The woman stared at her, mouth hanging open. The crowdimmediately fell into a circle around them, full of whispers and gasps andexcitement. Nico opened the box to reveal a beautiful ring covered withdiamonds – gotta love having friends so rich they didn’t notice when stuff wasstolen – and continued her speech:
“You are the love of my life. I’ve known it since the veryfirst time our eyes met on top of the Eiffel Tower, all those many, many yearsago. That was the day my life began anew. You saved me from my destructiveways, made me throw away the bottle, taught me that art could be beautiful— I willnever forget the first time I saw the sunrise in your eyes when I woke up nextto you on our first year anniversary. You were beautiful then. You’re beautifulnow. And you’ll be beautiful in 20 years, too, when we wave our first kids offto college. I can’t wait to share that moment with you. I need to share that moment with you. No one else in this entireworld will do. So, again, I ask: Will you marry me?”
Nico counted three women in the crowd urging the blondewoman on, five more gasping at the heartfelt speech, and approximately all ofthem wiping away tears. That was expected. That was perfect. The blonde woman, though. Now there was an unexpected reaction.
She fell to her knees, tears in her eyes, hands covering hermouth. She let out one sob, then another, then lunged forward to pull Nico intoa tight hug.
“Oh, my love! Yes, yes! I have been waiting so long for youto ask. I haven’t been able to sleep at night, wondering if you still loved me.I’m so sorry for that fight last week— I barely remember what it was about now!I should never have kicked you out of the house like that… But everything isfine now, isn’t it? It’s perfect! I don’t know how I could ever have been soblind. You are the one for me, I see it now, and I will gladly marry you!”
The woman pulled back and Nico got her first good look ather. Beautiful blonde hair, bright blue eyes, full lips that were comingtowards her, and wow that was thebest kiss Nico had ever experienced. The crowd cheered, whistled, clapped, yelled, and underneath it all was the hot blonde woman whispering in Nico’sear: “You owe me so much chocolatefor this.”
Nico grinned. “Kiss me again and I’ll sell off the ring andbuy you a factory.”
“Deal.”
Execution of plan: absolutely perfect.

Hello! Mind if I request KotoEli C? Thank you very much!
Mmmmrgh I can’t make angst for this lil fishing boat of a ship I can’t do that to it I’m sorry D: Have college Eli and third year Kotori flirting instead
KotoEli - C/#3 “Please, don’t leave.”
“Sorry I’m early, but I wanted to get a head start and - well, I hope you don’t mind.”
“No worries! I’m happy to see you whenever,” Kotori says cheerfully. “Good morning, Eli. Have you had breakfast?”
Kotori seems to have gotten a head-start on her collection testing. The gray jumper she’s wearing has several safety pins stuck in various places, and on the pocket, Eli can make out a tiny stitched μ’s.
Eli nods. “Arisa made breakfast. She’s getting better and better; I feel like soon she’s going to chase me out of the kitchen forever. You?”
“Yep! Just leave your shoes wherever, we’ll do this in my room.” As Eli puts her shoes away, Kotori closes and locks the front door to her house, then guides Eli up the stairs.
“This is a really good idea, you know - a μ’s collection’s definitely going to be popular.” Nico’s been especially excited, ever since Kotori promised her she could be the center of the magazine’s photo shoot. The extra spending cash would be appreciated too in university.
“Mama thought it would be a great way to kickstart my career too. It could be even better than going to the costume design school,” Kotori says. She opens the bedroom door for Eli, and they enter. Outfits are carefully hung everywhere, with a few laid out on the bed. Kotori points to various ones as she instructs Eli.
“Rin came in the other day and she tried out most of the dresses, so what I’m getting you to do today are tops and jackets, okay? Some other things too, but that’s mostly it.”
“Okay,” Eli says, shrugging off her hoodie. “Ready when you are. What’s first?”
“Well, I was thinking we could start with one of those other things.” Is that a smirk? Eli’s jaw drops as Kotori produces a very, well, fabric-minimising swimsuit with a flourish. Kotori’s face is pure innocence as she adds, “Is something wrong, Eli?”
She can’t be outplayed by Kotori. Eli fights down the blush and puts on the best affronted face she can, though she can’t help the snort that slips out. “I won’t stand for this blatant misuse of my good looks. Good bye, Miss Minami.” She flips her hair dramatically as she stands and halfway turns for the door.
Kotori’s laughter is bright and clear, and rings in Eli’s heart. One small hand catches Eli’s arm; sewing calluses scrape against the soft skin inside her elbow, and Eli swallows.
“Oh, please, don’t leave,” Kotori says through giggles. “I was just joking - you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” She sets the swimsuit aside and pulls a casual blazer and a top from the pile on her bed. “Here, this is what I was actually going to have you try first. The curtain’s just over there, you can change behind that.”
Eli thanks her and steps behind the curtain, pulling her T-shirt over her head. Kotori had told her to dress simply so she could change quickly. She’d certainly put a lot of thought into what she was going to have Eli do and wear… Eli considers lightly slapping herself to get the strange thoughts out of her head, but reconsiders at the thought of having to explain the handprint to Kotori. She fiddles with the top’s seams a few seconds more, admires Kotori’s handiwork in the mirror Kotori had thoughtfully placed behind the curtain, then steps outside.
The gaze Kotori casts over her is pure professionalism as she scribbles down some notes, and Eli’s cheeks heat when she remembers her thoughts. Kotori hums, then steps away, pleased. “Okay, it looks good. How does it feel?”
“A little tight under the arms,” Eli says. “When I raise my hand like this… but other than that it’s perfect. This is really nice, Kotori - can I buy one too?”
“For my Eli, free of charge,” Kotori says with a wink. She hands Eli a knee-length, flowy dress before turning around to set the notes by her laptop.
Eli’s mouth opens and closes. She settles for a quick laugh before ducking back behind the curtain to sink into a crouch and cover her face with her hands, taking a few deep breaths. Pull yourself together, Ayase. Control the gay. She has no choice now. She has to get back her own.
When Kotori pronounces the dress acceptable, Eli steels herself and says, “You know what? Going back and forth is taking up so much time. I’ll just change here.” And before her nerves get the better of her, she reaches behind her back and pulls the zip down in on smooth movement. The dress starts to slip off her shoulders.
Amber eyes widen. Then Kotori whips around, skirt swirling, and stammers an octave higher than usual, “I-I-I think you should change behind the curtain after all!”
“It’s just wasting time,” Eli says cheerfully. She takes her time buttoning up the shirt. Her fingers fumble. “Besides, you wanted me to t-try on that swimsuit too, right? This isn’t that different.” Damn, she stuttered.
Kotori doesn’t seem to notice. She’s almost babbling as she says, “No, no that was a joke - I mean, if you don’t want to take it as a joke, that’s fine too, but - Eli.”
“Kotori,” Eli mimic-whines, and that really tops the list of most meaningless responses she’s ever made in any conversation, she should just shut up now. Also if she could wipe the stupid grin off her face that would be nice.
Kotori hits Eli with a pout that really should be regulated for the stability of blood pressures everywhere. Then her expression shifts and she steps closer. “Hold on, you buttoned this up wrong.”
And then Kotori is unbuttoning and rebuttoning Eli’s shirt, and Eli really can’t compete with that. That’s just not fair. She staples her teeth over her lips to hold in any stupid noises she wants to make, tipping her head back - because she needs to give Kotori better access to her shirt, and because if she makes eye contact, she’s dead.
Maybe something in her stance or breathing changes anyway, because Kotori looks up and says, “Eli?”
Eli makes eye contact.
Do NOT, Elizaveta Alexandrovna Ayase. But Kotori’s face is so close, upturned to Eli’s, and her expression just a little surprised. And her eyelids are slowly closing; Eli can see every eyelash. And her face seems even closer. With a sort of hysteric joy, Eli wonders what it’d be like to brush her nose against Kotori’s in an eskimo kiss. Or a proper kiss.
Which Kotori hasn’t actually said she wanted.
With Herculean effort, Eli pulls back and stammers something about the shirt. Kotori quickly nods and says something vaguely appropriate, then turns away for some safety pins. She pricks Eli twice, but Eli doesn’t say anything or react; the tiny pains help her pull her overwhelmed mind back together.
All too soon, the clothes-modelling session is over, and Eli is pulling her hoodie back on. “So, uh. Thanks for today,” she says.
“No, I should be thanking you,” Kotori says with a sweet smile. She seems to have recovered much more than Eli. “You helped me a lot today. With this, I think I’ll be done by next week.”
Kotori leans in and hugs Eli; Eli wraps her arms around her, resting her chin on Kotori’s head for the briefest moment. Then it’s over and they pull away. Kotori smiles at Eli. “I’ll see you sometime, then.”
“Wait.” They’re both startled by Eli’s words. Not really knowing what she’s about to say, Eli plows on regardless. “If you want, I’d be, uh, happy to come do this again. Anytime.” Kotori nods and opens her mouth to speak, but Eli cuts her off. “If not! I was wondering if you maybe wanted to g-go to… this really nice café at university sometime? Their milkshakes are to die for.”
The milkshakes are just above average, in all honesty. But Kotori - after looking stunned for a few seconds - smiles and nods. “That sounds nice,” she says. “It’s a date, then?”
“Yeah,” Eli says dumbly. “It’s a date.”
When she’s out of the house and on the street, Eli looks back. Kotori waves at her from the window before turning and disappearing back into the house’s rooms. Eli lifts her arm belatedly, then tucks her hands into her pockets, and dazedly starts trudging home.
She has a date to plan.

[ll! sunshine!! AU] their own world
One of two fics done for @berryargento for our fic exchange :D We did one for Muse and the other for Aqours, and I decided to try my hand at the Aqours one first! She asked for DiaMari set in a Mafia AUish.
And well, okay, I’m going to admit, it’s not as Mafia-ish as I could have made it (wheres the guns picup) but the idea of two daughters being on rival gang member (yakuza) makes it very romeo and juliet doesn’t it? I just ran with this idea and this came out.
Please enjoy, and thank you for the support as always. ( ´ ▽ ` ) ノ
Characters / Pairings: Dia Kurosawa, Mari Ohara, Kanan Matsuura, Ruby Kurosawa; DiaMari
Background: Still within the universe of where Sunshine!! takes place with a few tweaks here and there.
Length: ~4188 words
"Besides, wouldn't it be lovely if our Families weren't at each other's throats?"
Uchiura has always been Kurosawa territory for years, however it has changed recently with the Ohara’s moving in. For Kurosawa Dia, succeeding the entire Kurosawa business has always been her goal since she was a child. However, meeting the heir to the Ohara business may rethink what she is going to do when she succeeds...
For Kurosawa Dia, life has always been busy since she could remember. Even in a small seaside town that is Uchiura, Yakuza still existed--such as the Kurosawa family. On the surface, the Kurosawa's is a fishing family, but underneath it all, they were known to be ruthless and experts in organized crime. For years, Uchiura has been Kurosawa territory, until recently, when the Ohara Hotel Chain moved in.
It's been a bit more turbulent time for Dia, balancing the ways of the Kurosawa family (both the fishing business and the underground), school (she is the Student Council President), and making sure her younger sister, Ruby, doesn't do anything... stupid. The Ohara Family adds another issue to Dia's already growing pile of them.
"Dia-sama!"
Aquamarine eyes dart from the paperwork she has been diligently working on to the door of the Student Council Room. A man in a suit slides it open, nearly tumbling into the room, holding his shoulder tightly. Knowing that... well, something must have happened, she answers very finely, "Yes?"
"It-It's R-Ruby-sama... she's... she's..."
Amusement sparks in her aquamarine eyes, did the Ohara's take the bait? She places the paper down, staring at the man, "What has she done this time?"
"T-The Ohara's.... they... she... she took out Kenji and Yasu..."
She?
Her eyes narrow and she stands up from her seat, "Where is she now?"
"C-Courtyard, b-by the pool..."
Dia doesn't waste another second, standing up in her seat and heading for the door with the air of authority from a Kurosawa surrounding her. She hands off her school bag to the suited man, "Have the car waiting for Ruby and I at the front of the school, I will deal with the... Ohara."
When Dia arrives at the courtyard behind Uranohoshi, she is surprised to see a familiar, blonde girl, roughly her age, standing there. It's not often you had foreigners at Uranohoshi, so Dia remembers this specific girl being whispered about but never would she think that she was an Ohara.
By her feet, is a tied up and gagged bright red-haired girl--there was her foolish sister.
"... Ohara."
Dia calls out as she stands little ways away from the two. The blonde girl turns around, and she's met with the brightest, pair of golden eyes. A wide smile spreads on her face as she takes her in. "Ah, you must be Dia-chan!" The girl curtsy, "Father always says to be polite, even if one is a Kurosawa."
Dia feels her back stiffen, and she's immediately defensive around this girl. There is something... odd about her, something that Dia can't put her finger on. Aquamarine eyes narrow, "Indeed. However, I do not know how polite one is if they are holding another hostage."
For a brief moment, she meets with similar shade of aquamarine, before concentrating on her opponent in front of her. The smile never shrinks and the blonde giggles, "Ruby-chan and I got along very well." She places a hand on top of red tresses, gently stroking her. Dia mentally takes a deep breath, calming her nerves down from wanting to rip that hand away from her Sister's head.
They silently stare each other down, until Dia finally asks, "What do you want from me, Ohara?"
"I just wanted to meet you, Dia."
Dia is caught off-guard but doesn't show her surprise. She narrows her eyes instead, silently telling the blonde to explain herself. That smile of hers widens once more, and it seems to be bright and full of good nature. "Kanan told me all about you, and I thought it would be interesting, to meet the eldest daughter of the Kurosawa family."
It takes Dia a second to comprehend what the Ohara just said. Her brains tries to find any malice or malicious intent, but there is nothing there, except for the bright smile and the kind voice. She makes a mental note to find out what Kanan said about her.
She watches the hand stroke her foolish sister's hair once more, "I met Ruby-chan first, however. And we had... a pleasant talk, right, Ruby-chan?"
Her sister just nods, for a hostage, she didn't seem very scared. The blonde smiles as she pulls her hand away, and looks at Dia again. "I'll be giving your Sister back now, Dia." She kneels down, untying the rope around her ankles and wrists and removing the gag.
Ruby is slowly brought to her feet with the blonde's help, and she silently walks to Dia's side. Dia doesn't acknowledge Ruby, but can see from the corner of her eyes that she isn't hurt. She continues her stare down with the blonde, "Don't think your kindness will win any favors, Ohara."
The smile on the blonde's face never fades or falls, "That's fine by me. I just hope we get well-acquainted." The blonde turns around to leave, but not without winking and waving at her. "Ciao, Dia~"
After the blonde disappears, Dia turns to Ruby, narrowing her eyes at her, "... You're telling me everything you have found out, and you dare not speak a word to anyone, including Father, about this encounter." With her warning, she leaves to the front of the school, her younger sister following behind.
As calm and serious her face is, she couldn't get those dastardly, bright golden eyes and wide smile out of her mind.
"Kanan!"
Dia's voice echoes throughout the small diving shop after she slams open the door and enters.
The information she received from Ruby the day before about the blonde hair Ohara girl wasn't... much. Her Sister says the she is very nice and upbeat--the opposite of what Dia would think from the successor of the Ohara business (both surface and underground). Apparently she loves horseback riding, and rides around from time to time.
The last piece of information is the most important one-the Ohara girl's name is Mari.
Ohara Mari.
Her eyes sweep around the small shop, spotting the blue-haired third year surrounded by oxygen tanks. At her name being called, she looks up from the one she is checking in confusion, before grinning. "Oh, Dia, did you need something?"
Immediately after Kanan finishes her sentence, her face pales, "W-Wait, it's not about Chika and I is it? I swear we didn't knock over the bike rack again."
Aquamarine eyes narrow, she makes a note to triple check any problems that the Student Council receives today. That's not what she came here to talk about though, "I didn't come here to berate you and your foolish friend, there's something that has come to my attention."
Kanan breathes a sigh of relief as she places a hand on her hip, "What's up?"
"Have you been talking about myself to Ohara Mari?"
She watches Kanan blink in surprise, before she grins. "Ohara Mari? Ah, yeah she's my classmate. I've mentioned you from time to time in our conversations during lunch." She steps over a few of the oxygen tanks to stand in front of Dia. She's still grinning. "Did Mari go see you?"
At the closeness, Dia takes a semi-step back, absolutely making sure to keep her back straight and not back down. "I suppose you can say that." Her response is a bit of a mumble, and Kanan nods her head in approval. "Good! I think you two can be good friends!"
"Good friends?" Dia chokes out immediately. She knew Kanan could be a bit aloof from time to time, but it's not that much of a secret (just very unspoken of) that the Kurosawa's and Ohara's were... rival families (to put it nicely). Kanan just pats her comfortingly on the shoulder (Dia tries not to flinch at the contact), still wearing that huge grin of hers.
"Exactly! Mari doesn't have a lot of friends in class, and neither do you, so I thought maybe you could meet up or something and maybe become friends." She pauses for a moment, as she strokes her chin in thought, "Maybe I should have invited her the last time we went swimming..." Kanan's voice trails off and Dia is trying to do everything in her will to not strangle her.
"I-I have friends!" She protests. Kanan's face looks at her with a deadpan expression, before asking, "Name them."
Dia goes silent. When she opens her mouth, Kanan immediately cuts her off, "I don't count."
"..."
"Neither does Hanamaru-chan, she's your Sister's best friend."
There's a look of almost absolute disgust on Dia's face, before she turns her head away, crossing her arms. "Fine! But I don't need friends, I'm much too busy to deal with them."
Kanan slaps her on the back this time, her grin breaking out again, "That's the spirit! We'll invite Mari next time we go swimming then! It'll be a lot of fun."
"I don't think you listened to me!"
"C'mon, let me finish up here and then we can go to school together."
Dia sighs heavily, waving her hand and muttering a 'whatever' as she watches her goes back to the oxygen tanks she was looking at before.
It looks like Ohara Mari is going to become something much more in her life than just the daughter of a mere, rival family.
Dia's eyes fly to the door of the Student Council room after a gentle knock is heard, eyeing it suspiciously. It's an odd time for someone to be here, seeing that school was over a little over an hour ago and the Student Council meeting finished ten minutes ago. She's hesitant, but calls 'come in', continuing to concentrate on her paperwork.
The door slide opens on, and a familiar voice greets her, "Hello, Dia!"
Her pen drops and her head shoots up, eyes widening in surprise. "O...hara." Her reply is a mere stutter. She swallows her surprise, straightening her back and taking her pen up once more. "What do you want?" She stiffly asks, trying to pretend that nothing happened in the last two minutes.
She hears the chair pull out next to her and from the corner of her eyes, the blonde invades her vision. She's smiling, "I didn't know you stayed so late."
She can feel those golden orbs stare at her, observing all her actions and movements closely, and it makes her self-conscious. However, she's a Kurosawa, she's the eldest daughter of one of the most successful fishing businesses and thriving yakuza... She couldn't let this girl, no matter who she was, get the best of her
"As Student Council President, it's my responsibility to make sure everything is in order." Her reply is as stiff as her back at that moment as she continues to write. She hears gentle shuffling and almost cries out in surprise as she feels a hot breath touch her sensitive skin.
"Is that so? Hmm, Dia seems very hard working." The blonde is in her vision again as the golden eyes is trained on the paperwork. "Balancing your academics, your Student Council work, your Family business..."
Those eyes move away from her paper to her now, and she drops her pen again. Dia narrows her eyes, "... Of course, there's a lot of responsibility as the eldest Kurosawa daughter. I'm sure you understand."
For the first time, the Ohara goes silent. Curiously, Dia's eyes follow the blonde as she slowly moves back in her own seat. There's somewhat of a melancholic look on her face, "Because I'm also the next in-line to take the Ohara business, right?"
Dia's only response is silence, taking in the thoughts of the other girl. Of course she immediately wants to say 'yes', but something is stopping her. A stray thought from a certain someone (about friends) echoes in her mind and she hesitantly stares at Ohara for a moment.
Gathering her courage, she takes a deep breath and picks up her pen again. She starts doing her paperwork. It's silent for a few minutes, but Dia manages to suggest, "... If you want you can stay here until I'm finished."
Golden eyes light up at the suggestion, and that wide smile of hers, the same one that she saw when they first met, appears. "... Great!"
Dia can't help but give her a small (awkward) smile back. Maybe this friend business wasn't so bad after all.
It starts to become some sort of ritual for the two of them to meet in the Student Council Room after school. It's a normal place for Dia to be anyways (working constantly), and Mari ends up there to keep her company. Mari does a lot of the talking with Dia adding her own opinion every so often (which she gets teased in response, infuriating her).
Dia becomes comfortable with Mari, almost forgetting that she's even an Ohara--a member of her rivaling family (and the daughter who will take over the business one day on top of that). Now that she thought about it, they didn't even talk about their Family's businesses.
It was as if they were in their own world.
"Ne, Dia."
Dia's aquamarine eyes flicker over to the blonde as she pauses in the middle of her paperwork. At this point, Mari knows when she has Dia's attention (which she finds is not hard to get); her gaze is directed out the window that overlooks Uranohoshi.
"When you take over the Kurosawa Business, what do you plan to do?"
Dia's eyes narrow slightly, was this some sort of trick question? Was she trying to get some information out of her? "Run the Kurosawa business as usual, both businesses." She's careful with her words as she eyes the blonde.
She watches Mari lean back in the seat, arms outstretched in front of her, with a small smile. "... That's so like you." Dia finds herself face to face with Mari, aquamarine and golden eyes meeting. "You see... When I take over the Ohara Family business, I plan to disband the Yakuza part of it."
The pen in Dia's hand drops--she finds that this girl always has a knack for making her do that.
"... What?" The question is a hoarse whisper and she's sure her face has confusion written all over it. Mari responds with a giggle as she looks out the window once more.
"With the business growing so big, it'll be hard to run both sides of things. Besides, if we want to be a reputable company, cutting ties to something... so underground is a small price to pay."
Golden eyes look in her direction again, as that smile she's familiar with returns to Mari's face.
"Besides, wouldn't it be lovely if our Families weren't at each other's throats?"
For weeks, Mari's plans about her family business haunts Dia. She's able to carry out all her lessons, activities, and duties as always, but in the back of her mind, the words make a home for themselves.
On very rare occasion, Dia goes fishing with her Father. They would just sit on the pier, the two of them, with two of the finest, crafted, fishing poles, thrown out to the sea to see if something bites. With the silence between her Father and herself, Dia finds her conversation with Mari coming to her mind.
She makes a very troubled face, and no matter how well she hides it, her Father knows.
"Dia."
He speaks her name with such authority yet kindness, that Dia turns her head to him. She bows it very slightly, "... My apologies, Father, there's been... a lot on my mind." He's silent, but Dia knows that he is waiting for her to speak. She draws in a breath as she stills her fishing rod in her hands.
"I've been thinking of the future of the Kurosawa business."
She feels a slight tremor in her hands, knowing that the most frightening part to all of this is coming up, and she's unsure of how her Father would react. "And... And of disbanding the Yakuza when I take over." Her voice is hush and shaky as she stares at the sea that stretches to the far beyond.
Her Father is silent, his gaze outwards to the sea. There's an eerie silence between the two, until he finally replies, "Is it because of the Ohara girl, or is it because that's what you want to do?"
Dia draws in a sharp breath, her back straightening up immediately at the mention of Mari. Her mind starts to whirl, trying to think of an excuse to take back all she has said and never mention such a thing ever again. It was dishonorable to the Kurosawa Family, to have the heir think of such foolish things-
A chuckle pulls her out of her thoughts, and there's a weight on top of her head. She slowly looks over at her Father, whose hand is on top of her head, rubbing it gently. "I have eyes and ears everywhere, I was very well aware of your interactions with the Ohara heir."
Dia bits her lip gently, bowing her head, "My apologies, Father, I..." He laughs again, rubbing her head a bit harder.
"There's nothing to be sorry about. You are a grown woman, an excellent heir to the Kurosawa Family and your own decision maker." He smiles at her a little, pulling away his hand and slipping it back into the loose sleeves of his yukata.
"If you wish to disband the Yakuza, then so be it. Just know of the consequences after." His voice is strict, but there's still a serene smile on his face. Dia just stares in disbelief-is her Father really okay with this?
"Besides, your Mother has been complaining about wanting to go on a vacation for a very long time. I think it's about time I listened to her." His sharp, aquamarine eyes look over at her, as a grin curls at the corner of his lips. A similar smile slowly spreads on Dia's face as her thoughts slowly disappear for now.
"You've always been a stubborn, old fool." She responds, a hint of playfulness in her tone. She tugs gently at her fishing rod as she returns her gaze to the sea, "But that's why you're my Father."
The silence is killing her.
It's been over an hour since the Student Council meeting ended, and Dia, as dutiful as she is, stays back to complete some unfinished work. Even while writing away at a document, she expects to hear the door slide open and Mari to join her at the table. That isn't the case today, though.
If you asked her a month or so ago, she would say she enjoyed the silence, however, she's grown attached to the blonde's company. Even if they weren't talking, just her soft breathing or her shifting is enough for Dia to know she's there.
She sighs, placing her pen down, perhaps she should wrap up for the day and head home. As she's gathering her things, her phone rings a familiar (and annoying) poppy tune. She grabs it, not even checking for the caller, and answering.
"Ruby? What is it?"
"O-Onee-chan...! I-It's M-Mari-san..."
For a split second, Dia nearly loses her grip on her phone when she hears the name Mari. Her eyes flicker as she looks out the window. "... What about her?"
"K-K-Kenji-san... h-he said th-that her and her Father..."
Dia grabs her bag in a rush, making her way to the door. She just gives her a sister a hasty reply, demanding for an address before hanging up. She calls for her car and heads for the destination that Ruby texts her.
Dia treks through the trees and bushes, idly wondering why on Earth the Ohara's family mansion is literally through a forest. She has to leave her car and her fellow yakuza members on the outskirts-it is much too dangerous for a large group to be heading to the Ohara mansion uninvited (they weren't here to cause even more of a rift between the two).
When she finally emerges from the trees, she's greeted by a mansion that rivals her own. Its architecture is very different though--taking more of a European style versus her very traditional, Japanese household. She takes a moment to be "semi-impressed", until voices could be heard from behind the building.
Curiously, she follows the sound, and as she gets closer, it becomes more distinct that it was an angry, masculine voice, shouting in a language that is not Japanese. She looks around the corner and frowns.
An older, male, with sleeked back, blonde hair and aging golden eyes, dressed in a clean pressed black suit is towering over a fallen figure. She recognizes the girl she has been looking for immediately, and anger sparks when she sees the redden skin of her cheeks on her normally, pristine white skin.
His hand raises again, but Dia is fast enough to interfere, grabbing the wrist before it can even move downward. The man's furious gaze is on Dia, but she counters with her own icily gaze that sparks with fire within. She hears a small gasp from the blonde on the ground as she gets to her knees slowly. "D-Dia...?"
"I would advise against that." Her voice is low and sharp as she holds firmly onto the wrist. The man tugs his wrist from her grip and takes a step back. "Kurosawa Dia." He growls, "What is the heir to the Kurosawa gang doing here?"
Dia takes a step in front of Mari, putting herself in between the two blondes. "I was merely coming to see a... friend, and I came across something that I do not like." She says carefully, aquamarine narrowing at the man in front of her. "Tread carefully, Ohara, remember that this land is originally Kurosawa territory."
The air around them is still as Dia squares her shoulders, showing her air of authority--that of a Kurosawa. They continue their stare down, before he lets out a puff of angry air, and turns away. He stalks off with no more words.
Dia continues her steely stare until a soft touch on her hand startles her, and she turns around, meeting with thankful golden eyes. "... Mari." She calls softly, surprising the both of them when she calls the Ohara heir by her first name.
A small smile uplifts on Mari's face, even though it is still reddened and starting to swell, "Let's go. Papa needs some time to cool down." She tugs on her hand softly and Dia follows obediently, staring at their touching hands the entire way.
"You're a fool for running your mouth like that."
Dia lectures as she presses the bag of ice against Mari's cheek (the latter squeals a little, light laughter trailing after). She watches her carefully as Mari's hand lightly touches hers that's holding the ice. "We were just talking."
"Hitting you isn't talking." Dia's eyes narrow a little and Mari just smiles instead. Her hands curl around Dia's that's holding the ice. "Thank you for coming."
Dia let's out an annoyed huff as she continues to press the ice pack against Mari's cheek. "... It was nothing." She mumbles quietly, slowly eying their hands together, but pretends not to notice. She looks at Mari again, observing the amusement that's in her eyes. "R-Really."
She stammers and wants to pull her hand away, but Mari keeps it firmly in place with a small giggle. "What was so important that you had to come visit me at my personal home?"
"I decided on the future of the Kurosawa business. And I too, have decided to cut away the yakuza side."
Mari's eyes widen in surprise, not expecting Dia to make a decision so quickly--or even going through with it. Her grip around her hand tightens, "... Is this true?"
Dia raises a brow, and laughs, "You doubt me?"
Mari pouts cutely, "You're being mean, Dia!"
"I am not!"
The two glare at each other, until they both break into smiles and gentle laughter. "I’m relieved though... It means that we can continue being together, even after we've succeeded our respective businesses." The blonde moves forward, leaning her head against Dia's shoulder.
Dia snorts a little, allowing her just this once to lean against her. She pulls the ice away, noticing the swelling is already going down, and drops the pack onto a nearby table. Her hand is still on top of her own, and she moves it slightly, so that their fingers entwine. "Don't be stupid, we would still be together."
The wide smile that Dia has grown to like spreads on Mari's lips and she feels the blonde shift against her... Until there's a sharp pinch at her side. She yelps, noticing that Mari teasingly pinched her, "You are a softie!"
"D-D-Don't say such ridiculous things! And don't do that."
"Oh? Are you sensitive? Or are you just... really ticklish?!"
"M-Mari!"
Even though they were both part of rival families, their harmonious laughter could be heard in this world that they decided to be together.

★ and *cough* ✿ // makipana, please? T-Thank you so much!
do not worry friend, I am here for all your makipana needs ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
★ - sad headcanon
Hanayo is the type to blame herself first if anything goes wrong and Maki has trouble bringing up things that bother her because she feels like she should be able to deal with them herself
during Hanayo’s really low moments of self-doubt, she feels like she’s really dull and plain in comparison to Maki and can’t help but feel like Maki can do so much better and that she’s not worth Maki’s time
Maki knows she doesn’t really have the best personality in the world and gets really worried that this makes Hanayo afraid to talk to her sometimes
✿ - Sex headcanon
it takes them forever to get to this point because Maki is an awkward, fumbling mess (Hanayo is arguably not much better) and doesn’t want to feel like she’s rushing things
Maki is usually the one who ends up taking the lead most of the time and she tends to get really into it and focuses a lot on Hanayo and make sure she’s completely satisfied
Hanayo really likes to hear Maki’s voice and uses it as encouragement
Maki knows Hanayo still feels self-conscious about her body and likes to press kisses all over
Rin has definitely walked in on them more than a handful of times
“Playing the piano isn’t the only thing Maki’s fingers are also good at ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)”
