          She pauses for dramatic effect, smoothing his tie and walking around him to collect his jacket from where it’s hanging on the edge of the mirror. He didn’t need another one, and besides, that wasn’t me. You deserved someone who didn’t care enough about anyone else to save them if it meant a second’s discomfort for you. And that I firmly believed that as good as he is, you’d be better someday.
