one thing that i think matters a lot in terms of why execs don’t wanna put effort into public transit over cars (beyond money etc) is that it’s a whole lot easier to just stuff a town full of locations and roads and expect everyone to go where they need. for public transit you have to anticipate and plan out where people will need to be most often and how to reasonably get them there
