sylvia plath, todd anderson and virginia woolf (aka ACTUAL tortured poets) watching taylor “im breaking up with my boyfriend for his intense depression and blaming it on him, im dating a racist who enjoys watching woc being brutalized and harasses young woc artists, i sent my fans out on a hate train to attack a young woc actress for a line she had to say as part of her job to show how mentally ill her character was, im dating a maga supporter, i refuse to say anything about a current genocide despite being the most influential person in the world right now, i am a billionaire, i fly 13 minute flights and have the highest carbon emission of any celebrity, i am a known white feminist who only speaks about issues when it affects me and has constantly let my fans get away with extreme racism and even encouraged it by associating myself with known racists” swift call herself a tortured poet (her writing sounds like a bunch of thesaurus words slapped over gabba hanna and rupi kaur-esque poetry that was created purely as a trinket for an edgy pinterest board)

“one day im going to have to make like a three hour long video essay that's just called In Defense of Helluva Boss” Please do. I see more anti videos than I do with defense ones. Like the ones that say season 2 is terrible even though it’s barely completed and the ones that say Stolitz is a bad despite them barely having a relationship.
no literally i am sick of seeing more anti content than actual appreciation videos but the anti talking point i see most that drives me up the fucking walls is that it's "bAd RePrEsEnTaTiOn," as if that is all that queer people are allowed to have; just the vague nebulous concept of "Rep(TM)." the fact that if a straight character is a bad person then it's just that This Character is a bad person, but if a queer character is a bad person then This Is Bad Representation Of The Community And Is Homophobic. can we not just HAVE characters?? vehicles to tell a story??? tools to craft a compelling narrative??? this is part of why Helluva/Hazbin being adult shows is such a THING because i see this get shut down a lot under the guise of "uhh well just because it's an adult show doesn't mean that it can handle whatever topic it wants however it wants" and like. yeah buddy! that's true! and that's not what this is fucking about!! when people say "it's an adult show" what they mean is that it's made to be engaged with under the assumption that you would know better than to take information to shape your worldview and perception of other real life people from a fucking cartoon! the show doesn't NEED to tell you that Um Hey Guys Just So You Know This Isn't Actually Meant To Reflect How All Real Life Gay Relationships Are because you are an adult who should already be able to discern this.
"bad rep" doesn't mean "characters that are nuanced, morally gray, or just bad people." "bad rep" would be if helluva boss was a show that said "the REASON these characters are in toxic relationships / are bad people is BECAUSE they are queer, or at least directly correlated to that fact." which is. you know. very fucking different than "these characters are in toxic relationships / are bad people because they 1) live in a classist society that actively encourages them to be their worst selves and 2) are extremely traumatized."

Me, as I'm about to start playing coral island: I don't know who I'm going to marry in this game. Mark caught my attention right away but I want to get to know the characters better before I make my decision, maybe I'll like someone more than him :)
Me, three seconds into the game, running around the island: WHERE IS HE? WHERE'S MARK? BRING ME MY FUTURE HUSBAND!!

I'm trying to be chill about Naughty Babe, but it seems that Diao, a Yellow/Orange Oddity, has lost his color during his engagement with Yi because he has lost himself in the relationship.
But Yi's red is still over his heart.
And the way he gets back is color is through Yi faking amnesia and being kind to him (based on Lian's advice!)
Because my Red Rascal and Blue Boy are still heavily color coded
So I'm excited to see all the ways this Red Rascal gives his man back his color.
September 2nd.
Weekends are for the gays.
GO FINISH FILMING MIDDLEMAN'S LOVE, YOU TWO!

NO BUT LITERALLY THE CONCEPT OF HAPPILY EVER AFTER IN FOOL'S FATE
This interaction between Thick and Fitz
After a time he said, “So this was our adventure. And the prince and the princess get married and live happily ever after, with many children to warm them in their old age.”
He had probably heard that phrase thousands of times in his life. It was a common way for a minstrel to end a hero tale.
“Perhaps,” I said cautiously. “Perhaps.”
“What happens to the rest of us?”
The Pale Woman offering Fitz to be the female to his male, the "whole that makes the world goe round" and him refusing it and the heteronormative Happily Ever After because Beloved already makes him whole!!
Or when retriveing Beloved's body the Pale Woman once again offers Fitz "everything he ever dreamed of" if he helped her and him narrating "my dream was dead in my arms"
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.
The chapter where Fitz and Molly get together is LITERALLY titled "Ever After"
The ending Fitz got in Fool's Fate is the classic desired heteronormative Happily Ever After. The thing he has been romanticising all his life; the version he could have been had he not been abandoned by his parents, not been witted, not been an assassin not been through hell and back; the Happily Ever After he spent the entire book unlearning.
The entirity of Fool's Fate was about him excepting his connection to Beloved, so when Prilkop convinced him to leave Fitz, he was abandoned again, and he went back to the life that was never his and the life he could never be complete in.
And he is hiding that tragedy BY painting it as that Happily Ever After.
(Which, I havn't read the last trilogy yet but I'm pretty sure that where his character went to, his and Molly's relationship will still have many of the same problems it had in Royal Assassin. Ever since the start Fitz has seen Molly as an escape from his hardships and him not being honest and open with her due to that was part of the reason their relationship didn't work. She deserves better than to represent that to Fitz)
Gosh I fucking love these books so much

Announcing: Haunted Holy and Divine
Azriel lived closer than most.
True shadow, true ice, true unmoving mountain stone. He walked the realm of whispers and long ago forgotten secrets more than he ever had the Court of Night. The dead held onto to nothing but their stories, their songs, their singular driving desires, and in that too, Azriel belonged more in their pitch black cold than the waking world.
The Court of Dreams.
It had meant something, once, to serve the Dreaming Throne.
A hope a hundred voices warned him was wrong, would not last, would not linger- long before his own dreams filled with innocent screams, Azriel had known goddamn well he’d sold his soul to the wrong man.
Five centuries and fifty years in a cage without the sky, he knew every secret of the City of Starlight. Everything that haunted his High Lord. Every way out, every way in, every wasted excess, useless crime, hollow benediction.
Every bruise, on Nesta Archeron’s immortal body.
Frigid winter without end, frost so very thick. Black bruises on her pale skin, lavender light when the sun hit her, cool as a corpse. Death could not hide her beautiful face from Azriel, no matter how she tried.
Maybe he had never had a soul to sell at all, but Azriel had never forgotten his first god.
Would never forget, how those of his own number had treated her.
