This is Sara Baartman. Her story is one of the most disturbing stories you will ever hear about. After being held captive for some time slave owners became infatuated with her curves and large breast. Eventually she was sexually abused and raped over an estimated 400 times. Going from city to city she became a world wide attraction. Being displayed on stage and then after performing being forced to do sexual acts with men and sometimes even women i. Over time eventually her body become so devalued... autospsy reports say she suffered from inflammatory ailment, smallpox, syphilis, mild yeast infection and many more bacterial infections. It doesn't stop there....after her death on December 29th in 1815 her body was disected...Her brain, skeleton and sexual organs (Breast,Vagina etc) remained on display in a Paris museum until 1974. Her remains weren't repatriated and buried until 2002.

“In Black, I’ve Found Gold” - Sauma
You’re what the worlds been looking for.
I knew long ago that wealth meant loving black, that power meant knowing black & that strength meant BEING black. In those that i love, in those that I know, in what I am, I know in black, I’ve found gold.

I'm late to say this for BHM, but positivity for all black people and mixed black people should be year round, not just during the shortest month of the year,, also I suck with words so I'm sorry if this is bad I'm trying my best 💓💓
Also this is primarily for black girls & afab black people, I've included black guys & amabs too!!, but seeing as black women & afabs are much more highly stigmatized and how prevalant racist misogyny is, there's more points in this that are geared towards black women & afabs!!
Normalize "nappy" hair!!! (I put it in quotations because I've heard it's derogatory and racist and I don't mean to offend!!)
Normalize black girls having poofy or curly hair!!!
Normalize cornrows, box braids, dreads, etc.!!!
Stop forcing young black girls & women to conform to your colorist beauty standards!!!
Black!! Girls!! Are!! Beautiful!! And!! Stunning!! Goddesses!!
You fucking bet your ass this includes medium and dark skinned black girls!!! Fuck whitewashing, fuck colorist beauty expectations, fuck light skin exclusive adoration!!
Normalize black people having big lips and broad noses and accents!!!
Normalize "more black" mixed kids!! Darker mixed kids!! Mixed kids with dark, curly hair and brown eyes!! Mixed kids that look more like their black parent!! Mixed kids that feel more connected to their black heritage!!
Love and support black people of all different walks of life, not just high or middle class, suburban, white-conforming black people!! Love and support stereotypical, "loud", "ghetto", "aggressive", lower class or impoverished black people!! Love and support lgbt+ black people!! Support disabled black people!! Support mentally ill black people!! Support neurodiverse black people!! Support homeless black people!! Support unemployed black people!! Support incarcerated black people!!
Never forget the fallen black people who lost their lives too soon in violent crime, prison, or police brutality.
Kinky hair is so beautiful and lovely, don't ever feel ashamed of your natural hair!!! Wear it with pride, as a wlw I love seeing girls happily wear their hair and clothes the way THEY want to!
Your hair is not dirty or offending or gross!!
Your facial features are stunning!!
Your skin is beautiful just the way it is!!
Your culture matters!!
Your story matters!!
YOU matter!!
I love you!!!!! ❤❤❤

“I’d rather go down in history as one lone Negro who dared to tell the government that it had done a dastardly thing than to save my skin by taking back what I said.” -Mrs. Ida B. Wells
(Translation: I said what I said!)
-  Ashley Robertson Preston, Ph.D.
“Ida Bell Wells (July 16, 1862 to March 25, 1931), better known as Ida B. Wells, was an African-American journalist, abolitionist and feminist who led an anti-lynching crusade in the United States in the 1890s. She went on to found and become integral in groups striving for African-American justice.” (x)

The people in Middle Age Europe knew about Musa; he was included on the Triple A list of their day. . What I find interesting about this great King, is that, unlike our modern day money makers, he was more interested in bettering his culture with that wealth than simply hanging on to it. . He may not have made trillionaire like some people, but bettering a culture with $415 billion aint half bad. .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #blackhistory #blackhistory365 #blackhistorymonthart #blackandproud #blackhistorymonthprogram #blacklove #blackhistorymonthuk #art #black #blackhistorymonth2021 #bhm2020 #africanamerican #melanin #melanated #blackhistorymonthnails #black365 #blackhistorymonthmakeup #blackgirlmagic #bhm #love #blackculture #blackhistorymonth6 #blackexcellence #blackhistorymonth9 #blackhistorymonth2020 #blackhistorymonth✊🏾 #blackhistorymonth2019 #blackhistorymonthiseveryday #blackhistorymonthmemes #blackhistorymonthedition (at Westborough, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CK1_NEaAisr/?igshid=14q5djqh8k97w

The Eye of Horus is one of the best-known symbols of ancient Egypt. Known also as the Wadjet, this symbol is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. Due to its powerful protective powers, the Eye of Horus was popularly used by the ancient Egyptians, both the living and the dead, as amulets. Even today, the Eye of Horus continues to be used as a symbol of protection and power.
