Nari Design Path

We're now on the final of the trio and we're finishing up with Nari! Part of the reason she's last is there is So Much and given smacked straight into the image limit it was the right call. Think she is also a great reminder that there is no "central hub" for finding information scattered across multiple artists with some being lost over time. The only place that is anything like that is the Dreamworks vault, all this is by one dedicated person who despite doing their best can still miss things.

As ever with these it is far from impossible something else will belatedly turn up. Should this occur, wherever it is added will have a [/edit xx/xx/xxxx] which includes a date marker. Just makes it easier to find the “new” thing :)

Much like with Skrael opening with these guys again if for flow reasons this time round. Francisco Ruiz Velasco had his own stab at a bunch of wizards which are nigh impossible to pin down if it was for any of the Arcane Trio specifically or not. This one will very understandably appear in all three as there could well be a Nari potential here for all we know.

Next up is Yingjue Chen's initial forest wizard concepts which you may recognise from the Bellroc thread. We've even got some deer ankles going!

Her next iteration is Nari as we know her for the most part if more "adult" in appearance, longer hair, possible deer ankles and lots of veils.

The "adult" Nari has popped up one other time namely through Francisco Ruiz Velasco doing his own exploration of the nature wizard and funky magic vines.

After this it was decided to make Nari "younger" and more childlike in stature though at this point still keeping everything else about her design. Fandom has generally fallen into two camps as either seeing her as a literal child sharing a weird spot with Skrael there or as a small adult. This is in part why the quotation marks are being used. Next to her here is the nature wizard design recast as Bellroc before they went off to a different artist. This is Yingjue Chen again!

For some reason have the left image entirely on its own and not entirely sure why. Anyway.

On the right is more veil tests that were tried out until it was decided it would be cost prohibitive, a common reason for cape loss in animation. Her hair was shrunk into the snazzy braid for the same reason. Her design would have further tweaks before settling, notably in the legs and how the leaf plates fit together if you compare the above and the below.

After this we have Nari's paint over a Leo Sanchez Studios model complete with callouts! Thinks ended up being tweaked a little bit more which really shows how iterative the process of concept to final design can be. Bonus is good reference particularly for that braid.

This is the point where you will see some creative work arounds for the image limit. Prior to his website being changed, Ivan Gozali had a bunch of sketches, some Bellroc sketches and a Jilaire beatboard. The Nari ones are still accessible through instagram if small. These are a smidge bigger though have been grouped into twos because of aforementioned limit.

He does mention a very interesting tidbit however:

Some character studies of Nari. Early in production we didn’t have much to go on. There were several design iterations, we even had several name changes. I was never much of a “concept” artist so please excuse with these off-proportion drawings. I always find joy exploring character behaviours and attitude.

Also by one of the storyboarders we have this series of art by Bianca Siercke. Completely non-canon these were part of figuring out her character and no doubt helped the boarders figure her out best for drawing as well.

This can of course also mean rock fists. Specifically in this case to quote:

"Nari playful personality was especially fun because of how it might effect her fighting style". "This was one of the explorations I did to figure out what kind of magic she might use".

Given she can use plants like a telephone according to Aaron, murder hands seem fair even if they were just part of figuring her out.

This is the last one! Ironically enough the seeds did come back in a sense in the form of her potted plant in Rise of the Titans.

Decided to add a trio of bonuses just for fun. You might have noticed the Order pops up in the Wizards credits sequence though unlike Trollhunters and 3Below, it is not Headless Studios. They were drawn in a similar way though! They are by Alison Donato.

Now firmly onto RotT related artwork, these various disguises for Nari are by Betsy Bauer painted over Yingjue Chen's original! Should you so desire you can have chav Nari in your works and point to this as to why.

Returning to Yingjue Chen a moment, Nari's staff! This and Alison Donato's credits paintings are the only currently known artwork of it. It might not have been used much but she does very much have a stick just like the others.

In the previous two design paths this is about when the Art of Wizards panel gets pointed to with the really tiny screenshot. In a unique twist to Nari and as a boon when smacked into the image limit, we have the full-sized versions of the very art shown there!

Next to the very tiny Nari is the left most vine.

And beside it is both the "flame" and the beam that will be used to bass boost the Heart of Avalon specifically. The below was originally on Betsy Bauer's website though is no longer available. Why things are saved off :)

Do you recall the green butterflies/moths Nari seemingly produced out of nowhere while at Hex Tech? Well thanks to Isaac Orloff we have their orthographic and their glowy effects!

Moving onto the RotT spell front, when Betsy Bauer revamped her website it came with some brand new art we hadn't seen previously. Not only does it show her potted plant unfurling and name it as a passion flower, there's an additional view of Nari in her "Fish fear me" hat.

We have that same flower exploding into a massive vine. Even has a callout specifically to Betsy Bauer's spell effects which is neat! This one is by Sean Wang.

Returning to Andy Murray a moment, we have the glow up eye effect for Nari. While not shown here for image limit reasons, the mind swap between Douxie and Nari effects plus the ripping him outta there is on the same sheet. The one below, which is purely Titan related has been cropped for fitting this post reasons only.

Nearly there now! While mentioned earlier and to fit with the format of the other two posts, one of Nari's in development names was Ilnara which we found out thanks to Bianca Siercke.

To close up on a fun note, Yingjue Chen has a headcanon of "adult" Nari having Excalibur which Schildwand went and cosplayed!

Bianca Jagger vs Anita Pallenberg.

The things that they did to each other were horrendously funny. Firstly, Anita thought that Bianca was a threat the first time she met her. Anita hated that Mick left Marianne for Bianca (even though Anita slept with Mick on the set of Performance and stayed flirting with him on their trip to Brazil just to spite Keith) and hated that Mick had his nose wild open for her. Anita was a junkie who no longer was in films and no longer looked the part, so she was jealous of Bianca's fashions. She went as far as to tell Spanish Tony, their famous drug dealer, to hire someone to investigate if Bianca was a man or not. In Anita's book, she said that Bianca would come over to their Villa Nellcôte and stay hidden in the bathroom for hours aloof from everyone putting on makeup. Anita is used to people flocking around her, so when Bianca refused to after she heard about Mick's history with Anita, Anita grew tired of her. Anita was bored all the time and often started fights just to spice things up. She said that she would flirt with Mick like tickling or grabbing his ass in front of Bianca just for her to become angry. Bianca was quoted calling her a cow. Anita would also borrow some of Biancas' clothes and purposely ruin them before giving them back. Anita went much deeper than that. She found out that both Keith and Mick admired Angela Davis. She was reported to have tried calling Angela after she was released from jail to have her come over and meet Mick, hoping that something would happen between the two of them. Anita was ruled as a witch, which is why she casted spells on Bianca. One of the spells was to have Bianca's hair fall out. She was obsessed with bothering Bianca, and Bianca's mission was to break up the group. Keith never said anything to Anita when she would act like this. Instead, Mick was the one who told Bianca to be cordial with Anita because she was a part of the group. Keith was angry with Bianca because he felt out of place with the new bougie Mick that Bianca was bringing out of him. Bianca always hung around "classy" people who were old and born in old money. Anita and Keith would laugh at them and make jokes, stating that these people were Jerks. Another little fact, Bianca and Mick danced to the soundtrack of Love Story at their wedding, which made Anita and Keith laugh even harder at them. They thought their entire marriage was a charade. Bianca grew tired of Anita, so she decided to keep her distance and manipulate Mick. She was equally narcissistic as Mick, and she wanted everything he had. She didn't love him, so she used him the entire marriage. Their fights were petty and obviously power motivated. They wanted the same thing from their men, except Anita wanted to be the most powerful woman in the group. Another little fact is that Anita hated all the other Stone's women except Marianne (debatable 🤔). She wanted to hang around the men and manipulate them. When they lived in the Villa Nellcôte, she hated Bobby Keys' wife for no reason. She ignored Spanish Tony's girlfriend, she flirted with Gram Parson, and then hated him after he snorted all the cocaine they had. Anita was truly an Italian, hate or love her.

You know what time it is - today marks the 8th anniversary of my fic My little test subject and all the other works that take place within the same universe!

8 years... it's a hell of a long time, but I greatly enjoy the work I put into my writing, and of course sharing it on the internet for all of you to enjoy! Even 8 years after I set out on the mission of writing tomtord soap opera I still find within me plenty of fun material to write and explore and I can only hope you guys will enjoy what I have in store for the foreseeable future. Thank you guys so much for all of your support - for the nice comments you leave on my fics, the fangirling in my inbox, the meaningful heart to hearts on my pms, all the lovely fanart, and of course the immeasurable faith you have in me to handle this story and coming along with me on this journey for the last 8 years <3 It means the world to me that you still hold interest in my work and enjoy my content. I work hard to improve myself every day so I can set out to create even more amazing content for you to enjoy - it's the only possible thing I think I can give to you in return as thanks for the support you've shown me over the years.

Today we start the beginning of ACT 2 of Always Gold and the frequent updates. As always, from now on a brand new chapter will be released once every two weeks until I run out of chapters.

Giorgia Meloni si è presentata alla Casa bianca in total white in veste di “colomba”, tanto per far capire a Trump le sue intenzioni sin dall’abito.

E, per oltre un’ora e mezza di incontro, di fronte all’uomo che ha appena dichiarato guerra commerciale all’Europa e all’Italia, la “patriota” non ha detto una sola parola in difesa del proprio Paese, figuriamoci dell’Unione.

È rimasta lì, a sorridere e lasciarsi corteggiare dai complimenti di Trump (“she’s a great person”), senza portare lo straccio di un’idea, una proposta, un’azione degna di questo nome. Zero di zero.

Anche perché non ha alcuna competenza politica in materia né alcun mandato europeo per farlo.

Solo frasi fatte e da paggetta di corte.

“Insieme Usa e Europa siamo più più forti”. Chi l’avrebbe mai detto?

Ha invitato il Presidente Trump a un incontro ufficiale in Europa, con tanto di tappeto rosso, esultando pure: “Ha accettato!”

E ancora:

“Sono sicura che si possa trovare un accordo a metà strada”. Alla faccia…

Ha promesso che “le imprese italiane investiranno 10 miliardi negli Usa”.

Infine, l’apoteosi:

“Siamo uniti con gli Usa nella lotta all’ideologia woke”. Che non esiste e non c’entrava nulla col tema, ma non ha resistito a questa ennesima pagliacciata populista.

L’unico punto politico che resterà di quest’incontro è la promessa di aumentare le spese militari dell’Italia al 2%, esattamente come ordinato dal padroncino americano.

Che differenza con Macron, Sanchez e gli altri leader europei.

Abbiamo fatto l’ennesima figura miserevole a livello mondiale che i tg meloniani presenteranno come un grande successo internazionale. Sta già accadendo in questi minuti.

Credevo che Meloni si sarebbe limitata ad andare a baciare la pantofola del nuovo boss mondiale.

Ma forse su una cosa aveva ragione Trump: non era lì solo per baciare la pantofola…

The charity event's chatter acts like background noise while she figures out how to tell Bianca the truth without being a total buzzkill. "Girl, I know you want the real deal. But trust me, work relationships are like mixing tequila and decisions. Total disaster waiting to happen." Her stomach knots thinking about her own past choices. "Maybe just feel it out first? See if he's worth potentially torching your career over." She already knows her friend's gonna do whatever she wants anyway. "And heads up. These rich people love their gossip more than their martinis."

she stared, definitely longer than she should have, but it was no surprise that she was interested in kai. bianca wasn't sure what to do with that though, especially since she worked for his family. on top of that, well, she wasn't typically one for serious relationships, even though she'd expressed to her friends a million times it was something she wanted. she peered over at her friend, "do you think it would be ridiculous of me to get involved with someone i work for? i mean, in a serious manner." she clearly wanted the advice, especially now that she'd managed spend some time at the bar with mariana.

Ma ciò ha comportato perdite economiche GRAVISSIME.

Ha comportato un'inflazione GALOPPANTE, anni SETTANTA, sui prezzi delle materie prime.

Ha comportato lo stato di POVERTA' per MILIONI di famiglie europee, distrutte dalla bolletta di luce e gas.

Ha comportato la perdita di migliaia di posti di lavoro , la chiusura di aziende , l'ANNULLAMENTO dell'importante mercato russo per i nostri prodotti, con le relative conseguenze, a causa dell'embargo euro-americano su qualsiasi cosa.

Ha comportato, sotto il profilo geo-politico e militare , l'allontanamento definitivo della Russia dall'occidente, costringendola a far corpo unico con cinesi, iraniani e nord-coreani, la peggio feccia globale, pur di contrastarci in quanto Alleanza NATO, che preme alle porte sue, e la minaccia.

E allora a me, visto che io sono io, e me ne sbatto il cazzo sia dei kompagni dichiarati che dei finti destrorsi alla Meloni & Co., la domanda sorge spontanea.

Quando tutto questo sarà ufficialmente finito, vale a dire qualche settimana dopo l'insediamento di Trump alla Casa Bianca, CHI PAGHERA' IL CONTO di queste malefatte ?

E guardate che il conto dovrebbe essere salato assai.

Per quello che è successo, e soprattutto per la TRUFFA ideologica ed economica alla quale tutti siamo stati SOTTOPOSTI con la forza, la pena dovrebbe essere LA GALERA.

Per tutti quanti, dalla Von der Leyen e tutta la sua porca Commissione alla Meloni, passando per Macron e Sanchez, finendo con Scholz e solo per restare alla UE, senza manco nominare gli USA e i loro galoppini inglesi.

"you know," she started, "growing up here, i should have known better than to expect anything different. there's always something going on around here so i think that you pose a valid suggestion," she paused to take a sip of her strawberry milkshake, her manicured nails tapping against the glass. "embracing it is probably for the best," she paused, "so, what do you think is next? that onyx circuit group isn't giving up any time soon, i don't think."
