Big Nate Head-canons: Nate Wright

(I've been recently re-reading the novels and it just made me re-realise why I loved this series so much back in primary/elementary school)

His official first name is Nathan, but he prefers the nickname "Nate" because he personally finds the name 'Nathan' too 'pretentious'. He’s only addressed as Nathan when he’s in serious trouble or in a formal setting, typically by an adult. Nate's friends call him Nathan for comedic purposes.

His middle name is Matthew. So his full name(in my head-canon) is: Nathan Matthew Wright.

He is an ENFP, probably a fire sign as well.

His best subject is Art with his grade being a solid A. He's an imaginative person and his creativity really shines through in creative subjects. (Artur gets an A+ for Art and that makes him really annoyed.)

I can see him having a B in English(he's decent at and puts effort in creative writing and poetry).

He does like gym and actively participates in the class so his grade would likely be a high B

For math and science, probably within the C range. Overall, he'd pass just fine, but only on a pass usually.

He (obviously) has the worst grades in social studies with a D. He is described to be a C-average student so he isn't failing, but isn't achieving great grades either.

He's an absolute geek with anything to do with comics/graphic novels. In every BBC session(Breakfast Book Club --- In the 7th Novel), he'd bring a comic or graphic novel over. Lil bro has a whole collection of comics, including Femme Fatality, and maybe some DC and Marvel comics.

He likes to read shonen mangas as well. I think he'd enjoy mangas like One Piece, Slum Dunk, One Punch Man, Naruto, and Transformers.

He likes to move about and has a spinning chair in his room. When sitting, he tends to bounce his legs, tap/spin/click a pen, have his hand fidget with something and look around the room. When standing, he taps his feet, looks around, move his fingers, scratch his head, and rock about.

He learned to play the drums by himself.

Has undiagnosed ADHD

Is very imaginative and creative.

Amongst the Trio(Him, Teddy, and Francis), he's the shortest, standing at about 4'6 (137cm). Nate gets a growth spurt later than most of his classmates. He'll begin to grow significantly in height sometime in high school(14 - 18 years old).

Nate has never seen his mum before. He has read letters and emails sent by her, usually directed towards Ellen and Martin, and seen pictures of her, but never in person. He doesn't feel much about it as he doesn't even remember her and having a single parent is the normal for him. However, he does feel left out and excluded on mothers day and PTAs.

Some people are put-off, weirded by, and concerned about him and Ellen having a single father.(Note: Single mothers/fathers are completely alright and can raise kids with the same amount of care and attention as 2 parents. Within the BN universe that is based on present day earth and irl, some people do have judgements on single parents and their "capabilities" to raise a child) This leads to awkward (and potentially invasive)moments, where some show faux sympathy and critically comment on their family.

For Nate or Ellen(or both): Have you ever met your mother after the divorce? Stayed in contact via letter, email, texting, or voice/face calling? How do you feel about her?

NATE: I haven't seen my mother after the divorce, but even if I did, I don't think I would be able to recognize her at all. Ellen told me after she left and I started to pay attention to my surroundings, Dad took down almost every photo with her in it, so I don't know what she looks like.

I attempted to call her at times because I'm still curious on what she's like, but no one ever answers. I've also tried to send letters but she never writes back either.

I don't get too emotional about it, but when I see some of my friends with their mother's, I get slightly...what's the word? Upset and angry? So I guess I'm kinda down that she left us, and I'm still wondering why she did it, but it doesn't affect me too much at the moment.

ELLEN: ... *out of range from Nate hearing* ...after the divorce, we stayed in contact with letters and telephone calls, and including the fact I was four/almost five when this happened, I was heartbroken and emotional. After a year or so, she broke contact with us completely and it was sudden, so we don't talk anymore.

I haven't met her yet, but she won't get a friendly greeting from me if so. I despise her so much, and it's mostly cause of the reason why she left us and how she decided to handle the situation. Like sure, I guess you can divorce and leave us, but don't be a bitch to us about it?!

Kenneth "Ken" Rosa was walking the streets of town he had just arrived and was looking for a place to hide,he was a vampire but renounced all vows of his past evil life terrorizing the citizens of the former city where he lived,he yelled at his mother and sister,packed a duffel bag with some clothes and headed fir someplace where he can begin life anew,he made sure not to smile at anyone or his fangs will be exposed

Ken rounded a corner and bumped into a man they both went down

"I'm so sorry are you hurt" said the man

"No I'm fine" said Ken he gave a small smile but remembered and closed his lips

"Ahhhh a vampire pleas don't eat me" yelled the man

"It's ok it's ok I'm not going to hurt you" said Ken

"Yhea right then your going to pounce on my and bite my neck" said the man

"No no i curse my former life,my name is Kenneth Rosa but you can call me Ken,for years my family held an iron grip over the citizens of the city I grew up in,I helped them yes,but renounced the evil I reveld in the past and vowed to start my life anew" said Ken

"You can come live with me my name is Martin but you can call me Marty,I have a son named Nate,say do you sometimes have blood cravings' said Marty

"yes its terrible but I've learned to control it but every now and then my nose and fangs twitch at the sight of a human even right now I'm holding the urge to open my mouth" said Ken
