Money talks!
#BigOil is in the pockets of our California Legislators, whether they’re Democrats or Republicans. As gas prices skyrocketed in California as a result of #BigOil and their corporate greed, does anyone find this surprising? 👀
#BigOil is polluting our planet and our democracy, buying their right to hurt working families and their pockets with no penalties. It's time to #StopBigOilGreed and urge our legislators to pass an Oil Price Gouging Penalty.
Money talks, but so does collective power! Sign our petition to support Senate Bill x1-2 and urge your legislators to do the same.

Big Oil knew all along, while pretending they didn't.
Exxon made ‘breathtakingly’ accurate climate predictions in 1970s and 80s. Oil company drove some of the leading science of the era only to publicly dismiss global heating.

"The idea that a technology called carbon capture and storage (CCS) could catch molecules of CO₂ as they emerge from the chimneys of power stations and factories has been around for more than two decades. Michael Gove, the secretary of state responsible for “levelling up” the UK’s regions, recently justified his approval of the UK’s first new coal mine in 30 years with “increased use of CCS”. There’s only one problem: CCS won’t cancel out Woodhouse Colliery’s emissions, which are estimated at 400,000 tonnes a year, because it barely exists."

Climate Change is the Symptom of a Problem.
Impacts of climate change on the environment are a result of forced and uncapped overconsumption of fossil fuels.

Still blaming Biden and Democratic spending for prices at the pump this past spring and early summer. Think again. Ask yourself who profited and who is paying for the political ads to make you look away from the truth?...."
Oil giants have made huge profits this year as prices and demand have soared, Hope writes.
Driving the news: Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company, yesterday reported a 90% increase in second-quarter profits from last year, to $48.4 billion.
Peers including Exxon Mobil and Chevron in the U.S. and Shell in the U.K. have also booked record profits.
Why it matters: The war in Ukraine limited oil and gas supply from Russia, accelerating energy prices that were already on the rise as global economies recovered from the depth of the pandemic.
What to watch: Aramco says it expects oil demand to continue to grow through 2030, despite current economic pressures.
At the same time, weak economic data from China today sent oil prices down 2.9% on demand concerns.
