My good friend James got me a gig at a bikini bar (I was not a dancer!) at one point as he was the sound guy and was kind enough to also let me carpool with him as I was car-less at the time.

I hadn’t seen him for a while (had to be a few months) and he looked shaggier than usual.

I didn’t mind, he’s an artist I thought, maybe he’s just been working a ton like all to most entertainment fielders do.

However, when I got into his car, I also notice a sea of clutter.

I’m not talking about food wrappers or old to-go coffee cups, I’m saying I saw stuff like mismatched socks, a huge colorful collection of t-shirts, used toothbrushes and floss.

It was obvious what was going on here and from my reaction. And he knew I knew.

Instead of trying to hide, he embraced it. Because that was the kind of guy James was.

We lost touch after the venue no longer needed us, but recently got a chance to catch up and I was glad to find out that his live sound business had taken off and he was no longer living out of his car.

A male customer approached me tonight and asked if he could ask me a technical question.. he asked how I get my genital area so smooth. And because for some strange reason he completely forgot that shocker.. I am a real human and don’t know him. So it’s none of his business. I told him that that’s an inappropriate question.. and by the time I got back on stage he was showing nothing but shame in his eyes.

No one should ask anyone such a question. You don’t approach women at the beach and ask that question. It’s a sign that you’re a creep. My job doesn’t give you a reason to act like a creep. The media has fed you wrong. Be a better human!

The thing about Jumbo's Clown Room is that you don't go there expecting an epic lap dance, or any nudity. You go there just expecting to drink and watch the girls dance, and maybe if you're lucky have some friendly conversation. Unless you come there with friends and then you can really have a good time. Because as strip clubs go, and this is only a bikini bar not a real strip club, it is probably the friendliest neighborhood bar of one around. But I want to emphasize the drinks I've had here are reasonably priced and very strong. This place is not a rip-off at all, because there's no cover charge at the door, and the girls don't hassle you for tips. Last time I was here was maybe a year-and-a-half ago and whoever the bartender was at that time, she made my gin and tonics pretty much all gin, with just a splash of quinine tonic water for taste and a little wedge of lime for looks. I had three of those and at the end of the night walked back to my van and slept in the back of it because I didn't dare drive away haha. The dancers here are often some of the best in town, and for a city like Los Angeles that'ssaying a lot. Stop in again.
