I can’t quite articulate this correctly, but listen to me. Listen to me. It’s important that Gladio and Ignis and Noctis do not get along. It’s important that they have sworn duties. It’s important that Gladio and Ignis are sworn by oath to Noctis and that they are in some ways obligated to be by his side. It is important that they see where Noctis has flaws and they call him on his shit and it’s important that Noctis never, ever berates them for it even if he gets huffy and snippy. It’s always about the topic he’s being called out on and never the calling out. It is important that despite being flawed people who don’t always get along, Noctis never, ever abuses his place as Prince and Gladio and Ignis are still loyal down to their souls.

It is important that they see each other’s flaws, especially important that Iggy and Gladio see Noctis’s flaws, and call him out and stand by him. It’s not blind loyalty. They follow Noctis, eyes wide open and choosing to take every step by his side. It’s important.

had to get a new computer because my last one broke and it came preinstalled with windows 11 :( i thought people were exaggerating but they're right, that shit's borderline malware. it comes with s mode already enabled which is a huge problem considering this is my work computer and i need third-party software, but even once i turned it off it was still almost unusable

Genuinely the funniest thing happened at work. An old boomer got promoted to be our QA specialist and has been working on making new standard operating procedures for us to diagnose and fix the chromebooks we work on for public schools

When we're determining what's wrong with these computers, we have to make notes on what damage we saw and what worked or didn't work, relating to the notes we were given by the school technicians. Since we are Hardware Repair Technicians (official job title) this man determined we need an acronym for easy reading. With zero cultural awareness whatsoever, he decided to go with...

he walks over real slow, tilts your chin up and says, “say that again. no, no—i need it word for word, baby. because if i heard what i think i heard…”

zayne chokes on air. his head snaps around so fast, his whole brain reboots. “wait. what? you never—?!” he chuckles lowly. “okay, okay. who are you and what did you do with my sweet, shy angel?”

his jaw clenches, breath catches and you can feel the tension shift. like something in him just snapped. he leans back, clears his throat and gives a tiny smirk. “you’re playing with fire, and i’m not the type to pull away when i get burned.”

you’re both deep into a high-risk deepspace operation. he’s focused, assessing potential threats, guns calibrated, his hud flickering with tactical readouts. you, cool as ever, lean in behind him and murmur through the comms. “you look sexy when you’re in control like this. makes me want to follow your every order… after hours.”

immediate system crash. xavier stops walking, literally halts mid-movement in zero gravity like his whole code just corrupted.

“…repeat that,” he says into the comm, voice a little rough, a lot lower than usual. he doesn’t turn to face you. he’s trying to regain composure while actively calculating threat levels.

he doesn’t miss a beat on the mission afterward, but the tight grip on his weapon and the way he refuses to look at you say everything: you broke him.

he stammers, short-circuits, then just covers his face and laughs into his hands quietly. “okay. that’s unfair. you can’t just… out-flirt me like that.”

you’re watching him get dressed and casually comment, “if you’re going to tease me with that shirt unbuttoned, the least you can do is let me take it off for you.”

rafayel blinks, twice. “what did you just say?” not offended, not teasing. he’s actually stunned.

a slow, devilish smile starts to curl on his lips as he puts down whatever he was holding. he steps toward you and murmurs, “are you seducing me? because i have to warn you… i’m very easy to seduce.”

rafayel freezes. for one glorious second there’s silence. then he smiles a bit mischievously. “oh? okay, i see you. someone’s been hiding from me the whole time.” he never lets it go, but he wants more of your flirty side. “you gonna flirt like that again, or was i just blessed once?”

It's called archeological context!! (Or provenience, if you're fancy.) It's quite possibly the most important part of any archeological find!

If any sort of artifact is found, it's super important where and how it was found. This allows us to infer a ton of stuff, like how the object was used, what culture it was used in, what value it held, and possibly what happened to it since its creation (this is sometimes referred to as provenance).

We actually know a lot about ancient cultural interactions based on artifacts and currency found outside their usual context, implying they've been traded!

Assuming your house gets found in an archeological dig in a couple centuries, archeologists could likely place the time period with some accuracy, likely based on the architecture of the building. (Seriously, the way we've built houses has changed so much over a relatively short amount of time. Indoor plumbing in a presumably middle-ish class home would already rule out anything but the last three generations, and the sewer system is more likely to survive than the house itself. If your house has a garage, it's likely less than 50 years old.) They'd know that Buddhism wasn't particularly widespread in your region, and that Buddhist artifacts there were mostly used for ornamental purposes. They could probably infer whether your lifestyle was in line with Buddhist practices at the time. (If parts of your fridge, waste, or your physical body remain, they could draw conclusions about your diet, for example.)

Depending on what else survives, they might even figure out you were Christian! It's not unlikely someone in your home owns a metal cross, and it's rather uncommon for different faiths to share a home. Other religious texts or artifacts you might not even consider as such (because they're everyday objects to you) could also clue in future archeologists. Your local church and/or graveyard might also be excavated and link back to you and your home.

Also keep in mind this is all based on methods we use right now to study our past. In a couple of centuries, things may look very different. This scenario also assumes that all current records will be lost to time, which isn't impossible, but we are more focused on preservation of records than ever before. Assuming public records get archived indefinitely, it's possible future archeologists could simply. Look up who you were.

Anyway PSA if you ever find something you think might be archeologically valuable DO NOT MOVE IT. DO NOT TAKE IT SOMEWHERE TO GET IT EXAMINED!! Not only could you damage it, you'd also be removing the object from its context, which makes it near impossible to learn anything about it. Your best bet is likely to contact the nearest University with an archeological department.

If someone finds the Buddha statue some centuries later and takes it to whatever their version of a research institution is, the researcher there could at best shrug and say "well the owner mightve been buddhist but theres no way to know"

When I think about interpreting archaeology stuff I think about two religious symbols I have in my room.

I have a cross on my wall made of olive wood and I have a little ceramic Buddha statue on my desk.

Now of these two objects the ceramic Buddha statue is far more likely to survive the ravages of time. However I am not Buddhist. I do not pray to Buddha. I just think the statue is neat. I am in fact a Christian. The wooden cross is the more relevant thing there when it comes to understanding my personal beliefs.

So if my belongings were found like a thousand years from now someone might think oh this person might’ve been Buddhist. Because the ceramic figurine survived while the olive wood cross did not.

Also is my Buddha statue a ritual object? Technically yes but not in my room. In my room it’s a neat little knickknack.

I’m sure archeologists know all about this sort of thing which is why figuring out what certain things are actually used for is weird. What was that? What did it mean to its owner? We can only guess.
