“Yeah, right,” I said. “I’d be more likely to get to the airport by thumbing a ride with the local psychopath.”
Clay grinned. “You forget, darling. I am the local psychopath.”

Quote
The show’s writers had peppered the piece with words like “savage,” “wild,” and “animalistic.” What bullshit. Show me the animal that kills for the thrill of watching something die. Why does the stereotype of the animalistic killer persist? Because humans like it. It neatly explains things for them, moving humans to the top of the evolutionary ladder and putting killers down among mythological man-beast monsters like werewolves.

Love Leah Clearwater? Hate how dirty she was done?
Might I suggest Kelley Armstrong’s Bitten (1999):
Tumblr media
This book follows the protagonist Elena Michaels, the world’s only female werewolf. With super-strength, super-hearing, etc. she is a force to be reckoned with. The story is a thriller/mystery as she and her pack try to figure out who is threatening them. Her pack loves her, and doesn’t treat her like garbage, and this is the first in a series that follows Supernatural women. Elena is the narrator in books 1, 2, 6, 10 and a chapter in 13. She doesn’t lose her fertility in some weird ass sexist nonsense rules either. Oh, and it’s quite smutty, if that’s up your alley ;)

People saying JK left Jimin after he started being close to Tae again. It seems possible, they are human. Doesn't seem like Jimin has a problem with that, he seems fine with both and happy for them infact. Maybe Jungkook always wanted Tae, when they started getting closer again he released what he was missing and who he wanted all along.
I GENIUNELY don't even know how to mark this on bingo? Lmfao. Bruh... But what I will do is recommend to you the book Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. The book isn't necessarily focused on the relationship romance but the romance during THIS book in the series at least, gives simular vibes. So you'd probably enjoy that. Except it's not gay, but it otherwise should still work just fine.
Tumblr media
Description: Elena Michaels is the world’s only female werewolf. And she’s tired of it. Tired of a life spent hiding and protecting, a life where her most important job is hunting down rogue werewolves. Tired of a world that not only accepts the worst in her–her temper, her violence–but requires it. Worst of all, she realizes she’s growing content with that life, with being that person.
So she left the Pack and returned to Toronto where she’s trying to live as a human. When the Pack leader calls asking for her help fighting a sudden uprising, she only agrees because she owes him. Once this is over, she’ll be squared with the Pack and free to live life as a human. Which is what she wants. Really.
I love this book. Lol its a guilty pleasure binge read for me. I come back to it all the time. And if you like it, it's got a bunch of continuations in a series, but it can be read as a standalone since it was originally planed to be one! As for why this fits your anon vibes romance wise, I normally hate love triangles and they detract from the book for me, but this barely counts because Phillip is so obviously not really an option 😅
SPOILERS
Basically Elena and Clay ARE lovers, they drift apart, she leaves, he pines. She starts dating Phillip. Events transpire that pushes Elena and Clay back together, she never really stopped loving him. They get back together because Clay was always who she really wanted and she realized that as they got closer again and spent more time together (and when their lives were in horrible danger lol). And she leaves Phillip without much thought honestly. It's a who she thought she wanted vs who she actually wanted/needed/is. And it's a no Brainer. Lol is it a little toxic, yes. Is a good time anyway? Yes 😅
END SPOILERS
Content warnings though for slut shaming, sexist insults, child abuse, child SA mentioned in flashbacks, SA, dubious consent, graphic physical injuries and violence, death of a close friend, murder, sexually explicit content, drug/alcohol abuse, torture, cheating in relationships
This was a fun way to answer these asks. I will continue to be doing this. Anon if you read the book, come on back and let me know what you think! 🥰

13 books meme
Was tagged by @missroserose (thanks!) and BOY am I bad at reading books these days, so this kinda made me feel bad. (i'm not counting fanfics in this, even though I have several of those printed in book form)
1) The Last book I read:
"Sovande jättar", "Gudarna vaknar" and "Bara människa" (it's a triology) by Silvain Neuvel. (in English: "Sleeping Giants", Waking Gods" and "Only Human")
2) A book I recommend:
"The flat share" by Beth O'Leary for some light reading and feelgood feels. It's so cute!
3) A book that I couldn’t put down:
"The Martian" by Andy Weir. I literally got late back to work from my lunch break because I Had To Finish It.
4) A book I’ve read twice (or more):
I mean, lots of them. If I have a favorite, I will return to it like I would an old friend. To mention a few, "Grottbjörnens folk" by Jean M. Auel (English: "Clan of the cave bear") and the follow-up, "Hästarnas dal" (English: "Valley of the horses", I think) because I'm a sucker for someone just ... surviving and thriving. "Dimestore magic" and "Bitten" by Kelley Armstrong. Trilogin om Frihetskrigen (The Freedom War Triology?) by Niklas Krog. "Vingmästarens dotter" by Bertil Mårtensson. And of couse "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
5) A book on my TBR:
"Runaway Max" by Brenna Yovanoff. One of these days, I'll get to it ... at least the Billy scenes, lol
6) A book I’ve put down:
"Call Me by Your Name" by André Aciman. I didn't actually put it down because I was determined to finish it, but it was a struggle. I'm sure it is very good, but for someone who isn't into a) romance or b) sex, there just wasn't that much else for me to latch onto in that book. Not much ... plot.
7) A book on my wish list:
Gregory Crewdson, "Eveningside 2012-2022", but I've been hesitant to buy it so far because I can't rationalize spending that much on a book. But listen, he is a fantastic photographer and I've loved his work ever since I first saw a documentary about him on TV, ages ago.
8) A favorite book from childhood:
"Skattsökarna" by E. Nesbit (in English: "The Story of the Treasure Seekers"). Man I did NOT know what all those currency meant when I was a kid but it seemed FANTASTIC to have that many friends and adventures. <3
9) A book you would give to a friend:
"I'm with stupid" by Gene Weingarten and Gina Barreca. It was a fun and eye-opening book, lol (that is actually due for a re-read soon).
10) A book of Poetry or Lyrics you own:
"Complete poems" by Dorothy Parker. I have read the whole thing and I love her. I love Dorothy's poetry. So witty, so RHYMING.
11) A nonfiction book you own:
"Saxat ur Starlet" by Kristina Öhman. It has me ROLLING laughing. Starlet was a comic that I read a lot when I was a kid, and this book has taken random images from those comics and added commentary, and it is HIL-AR-IOUS.
12) What are you currently reading:
Nothing that ain't fanfics, baby.
13) What are you planning on reading next?
Book-wise? I don't know.
Bonus Round Shelfie?
Huh?
Tagging: @mikajupiterjonesingtimcurryfeet @callieb @dragonflylady77 @cherrydreamer @jaune-chat and whoever wants to do it :)

The truth is, if a werewolf behaved like this psychopath it wouldn’t be because he was part animal, but because he was still too human. Only humans kill for sport.

Hopeful for the new month
Hello again Tumblr, I found my way back yet again.
After another lost handful of time due to the awesome ongoing battles of the minds, I am hoping to spark some joy back into the things I used to do in life.
My goal for the next two months is to read at least 4 books.
When I was younger I used to be able to read a book, no matter the size at most in a 3 day span, and that was around school and the various activities that I was pushed into.
Now....I want to try again.
The Four Books that I will be trying will be:
*Insert drumroll*
LegendBorn
Tumblr media
2. A River of Royal Blood
Tumblr media
3. Crown of Feathers
Tumblr media
4. Bitten
Tumblr media
Bitten is actually a re-read. I originally read the Women of the Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong when they were first coming to America.
Looking back now I can see how they were not really appropriate for someone that young ^^; but honestly that series was a life line for me for many years, and I have recently become blessed to finally collect the fully series again! As well as the original two anthologies!
Now, to take a deep breath, and pick a book.............
I think I am going to plug these into a random spinning wheel to help me figure that leap out.
Well everyone, send me luck and happy June 1st.

Tumblr media
Hello everyone, Welcome to The Calling of Tales, my name is Tayla, and I am currently 29 years old from Trenton, Ontario Canada. This is my first article and in this I am going to be doing the newbie tag question. With that let’s get started…
• Why did I start this blog?
Honestly, I don’t have friends who are interested in books and reading; they don’t even go shopping with me. So I feel alone in my reading journey and want people I can share these exciting books and world’s with, so I created an bookstagram account which has been amazing; but I want to do something more. So I’ve decided to try booktube and blogging.
2. What are some Fun and Unique things you can bring to blogging?
I’m not quite sure what I will bring yet, but I hope to bring my own opinion, and truth to these book from my perspective. I just want to connect with other bookish people.
3. What are you excited about for this new blog?
I’m excited just to start, and talk to all of you. To share my books and read and opinions the best I can. Once I find my footing in this area, then eventually I’d like to do give aways and maybe buddy reads. I know that I might be getting ahead of myself but, we will see how things go.
4. Why do you love reading?
So I want to be an open and honest person on here, and I think a majority or readers read to escape. When I was young I went through a lot of bullying and other stuff and I Hatttted reading to be honest. But I eventually found a book Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong, at the time I didn’t realize it was a series, and it’s fourth in the specific bitten series. But when I read it, it was like a movie playing in my head, I could see all the words as beautiful images, and I was safe and free in my mind. That was comforting to me. So I continued to escape things that bothered me through reading.
5. What book or series got me into reading?
I just answered that, Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong.
6. What questions would you ask your favorite booktubers/bloggers?
Oo this is interesting….let see.
What are you favorite reads?
What do you wish you knew before you started your channel/blog?
Where do you all get your comfy chairs lol and how do you make your bookshelves so pretty 😍
7. What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
I think the hardest thing for me, will be able to communicate my thoughts and feelings about my reads clearly. I’ve never been in front of a camera, talking to well you guys. And I’m quite socially awkward so I think overcoming my fear of communication will be difficult.
8. When did you start reading?
I started at at early age, and of course through public school, hated that because it was always school choice reads which I never read… if someone tells me to read something nope not gonna happen. So it wasn’t truly till highschool that I got into reading and enjoying it.
9. Where did you read?
When I was younger, always somewhere quiet like my room. Now I can pretty much read anywhere except a moving vehicle….
10. What kind of books do you like to read?
I read mostly fiction books. Rarely rarely non-fiction. I just prefer to escape into something that isn’t real rather than reading about real like things. I read a bunch of different genres though, mostly YA books, but some Adult and New Adult reads as well. Fantasy, Romance, Mystery, Horror, Thriller, Sci-fi, a mix of in between.
11. What does my book collection look like?
Chaotic; that’s the only word I can use right now. Book wise I think really good. I have a bunch of Kelley Armstrong, she’s my author; I’m trying to get all of her books. I have Sarah J. Maas, Bridgid Kemmerer, cassandra Clare, Colleen Hoover, James Dashner, J.k Rowling, K.A Knight, TJ Klune, Tracy Wolff and a bunch more. Look wise my bookshelves are a mess, recently my room has moved to the basement, and being renovated. So I haven’t set up my bookshelves for my new room. So my books are upstairs and just on random old bookshelves just in random spots. When I get my new ones set up I still don’t know how I’m going to put my books up, or decorate, so let me know below how you do your bookshelves. I might need some inspiration.
