I try not to be angry about people's spn opinions but god I just saw a post saying that Sam doesn't understand Dean and the person that understands him the most is Cas and I'm just like... Did we watch the same show? I mean they also said that s1-2 Sam was way too whiny so opinion discarded completely

Something that kinda pisses me off is how the writers reframed the trauma of Mystery Spot to be Dean's, when he doesn't even have any memory of it.

From Changing Channels:

Dean: Good. I've wanted to gank that mother since Mystery Spot. Sam: You sure? Dean: Yeah I'm sure. Sam: No, I mean are you sure you wanna kill him? Dean: Son of a bitch didn't think twice about icing me a thousand times.

And like. People just went with it.

Mystery Spot changed Sam on a fairly fundamental level. Like. He was always unhinged about Dean and Dean's deal, but watching Dean die? Over and over, so many times he lost count, and knowing that no matter what he did he was failing to save Dean. And the last death, when he lost Dean for six months.

I really think that is what pushed Sam from "I don't care if someone else dies so Dean can live" to "I will personally rip the heart out of anyone if it gives me the slightest chance of saving Dean."

And then Changing Channels comes along, and Sam's the one thinking "hey, maybe the Trickster (because remember, they didn't know Trickster=Gabriel) could help prevent the Apocalypse" and Dean is the one with a vendetta? Over something he doesn't even remember?

My GOD this show loves to erase Sam's trauma.

Sam girls will be like: "oh my poor Sam I just want to wrap him up in a blanket and give him a hug" whilst literally writing fic/headcanons darker and more distressing than anything the spn writers could ever even dare to image.

I love how in season 7 nobody asks Sam how he's dealing with the Hell memories, it's Dean being asked how he's dealing with Sam & his Hell memories. What's Sam, chopped liver?

Yup.

Especially Bobby in 7x02 and Frank in 7x11. Everyone is just fawning over Poor Dean and how he's handling his brother's hallucinations of Hell. Meanwhile Sam has to hide everything he's going through to prevent Dean from falling apart.

I guess that just goes to show how strong Sam is compared to his weak, delicate flower of a brother.

Please get me out of the clutches of Sam haters I BEG. Oh he was snarky in one scene and now because Dean feels bad it's all his fault. Forget all the times he called Sam a monster or punched him for no reason and just like... Neither of them are perfect Sam fucked up a lot but so much of the blame is put on Sam and that's why I'm such a fucking bitter Sam kindagirl like fuck I just wanted Sam edits ugh

Oh fuck that one moment in particular.

You know the one.

The one where Sam is talking to Charlie, and telling her about how he almost died to close Hell but Dean wasn't okay with that, and he um--

And Charlie fills in the blank with "he saved you."

And Sam just agrees. "Yeah. He saved me."

Except he didn't feel saved.

How could he explain to her, this girl who only sees the love and devotion of Dean that he was violated? Especially after she filled in the words for him.

Dean saved him.

Just like Dean saved the world from Lucifer.

He's just Sam, just the abomination, just the boy with the demon blood, just "bad luck with the ladies" Sam (don't think about jess on the ceiling madison turning to a wolf ruby and sarah and amy and amelia don't think don't thinkdontdontdont) and Dean's ungrateful brat of a brother.

Charlie says "He saved you" with a voice full of worship and aren't you grateful eyes.

Sam agrees "yeah. he saved me," and he means damnation.
