When Elgar woke the next morning, there was a flutter in his chest, like tears or laughter just waiting to burst out.
He sat up. The slave who always attended to them in the mornings, bringing them water to wash, laying out fresh clothes for Elgar and personally helping the prince to dress, was already in the room. Elgar felt bad for not remembering his name yet—there simply had been too many names in the last few days.
»Good morning, Sir,« the man said quietly as he put the freshly filled jar down at the washstand.
Elgar didn’t know much Ochurian beyond greetings yet, after these brief days, but he thought he managed a decent »Good morning,« in return.
The other man smiled, gave a little bow—to him, Elgar—and left with a last glance at the prince, who seemed to be sleeping in today.
The princess’s personal slaves, Elgar had learned, had been a wedding gift, brought into her marriage with the Ochurian Crown by the queen. Thirty of them total, to be split up between the siblings and the queen; in fact, two of the ones now in the princess’s entourage belonged to the prince, having been redistributed after his assumed death.
They seemed as pleased to have him back as anyone. Elgar was dying to talk to them, to learn from their own words that they were alright and being treated well, but of course his language skills were far from that. For what it was worth, he hadn’t noticed any injuries, even bruises, and they all seemed well-fed. They were expected to follow orders, of course, but who wasn’t? He’d even seen them chat and laugh among themselves, the way he and the prince would never have been allowed to.
Surely, they had drawn a fair enough lot, for slaves.
They seemed to regard him with a mix of curiosity and suspicion, especially when he tried to stay closer to them during the journeying. He didn’t fit with the royalty, he knew that, but clearly the slaves didn’t think he fit with them either; maybe they were worried what the prince would think if they treated him as an equal.
Elgar couldn’t blame them. He didn’t know what the prince would think, either, though more and more he started to entertain a faint hope his kindness would last, that his gentleness was genuine.
That flutter he had woken with was an echo of last night. He remembered, although it seemed almost like a dream. He touched his own forehead, where the prince had asked to kiss.
As if it was Elgar’s decision what happened with his body.
He swallowed, looked down at the prince—he slept so soundly, when Elgar knew he had always woken early these past days, and suspected why—and then got up to look out the window, which the slave had thrown open for the prince to wake to fresh air. The breeze helped clear Elgar’s mind, too.
The golden morning sun that just crept over the horizon poured its light over a rocky hillside, at the bottom of which a few houses huddled, with more scattered on the surrounding hills. Flocks of goats dotted the rugged landscape. The road had been getting rougher and rougher, and it had to zigzag up to the local manor they now resided in.
It was different from what Elgar knew. But maybe that could be a comfort.
A soft yawn called his attention back into the room. The prince had sat up, caught his eye, and smiled, giving him a little wave.
»Good morning, your Highness.«
The prince smiled wider hearing him speak in his language, and gave him a little thumbs-up, so brief it almost seemed shy.
»Have you slept well?« The question just popped out; he couldn’t usually bring himself to be casual with the prince, how could he? He had to switch back to Teeradian, too.
For a moment, the prince looked thoughtful, his smile running away; then he nodded, just as thoughtful, and the smile came back.
He pointed at Elgar, questioning, and now Elgar couldn’t help a smile of his own.
»Me too, thanks.«
* Orafin had never really seen Elgar smile before.
He realized it with perfect certainty now, because while Elgar had been handsome before—the curse that was a significant part of landing him in their master’s bed—now, in a moment, he was beautiful in a way that went beyond mere looks, something his fearful false smiles couldn’t begin to emulate.
He must be finally feeling better, and that was the best part of it all. Orafin’s heart felt fragile, after whatever it was that had happened last night, but now it felt lighter.
He got up and went to look out the window beside Elgar. He wondered what Elgar saw, looking out at this landscape that was so familiar to him, but, by all accounts, much different from flat, seaside Teeradia.
Elgar must have noticed something about his expression; he answered. Orafin was more than glad to hear it. Elgar had avoided speaking without being spoken to, and he, Orafin, couldn’t speak to him.
»It’s, um. It’s pretty. Different, but… pretty.«
For a moment, the thought dashed through Orafin’s mind that these words might as well describe Elgar himself; but he cast it out just as quickly. Others might think that, but he knew how alike they were.
He gave Elgar another smile, then went to wash. When he was done, he knocked on the door for Lilon, one of the slaves now returned to his service. Of course he could dress himself, but it was proper for a prince to be attended to—even if the thought sat askew in his soul now, somehow. He pushed that feeling aside, as well.
He didn’t want to cry again so soon.
Lilon entered in a moment, bowing to him before he went to assist him. »Good morning, Sir.«
Orafin accepted the help, like he had a thousand times before without sparing it a second thought. And yet… that, too, felt uneasy.
He had to remind himself that no slave in their family would ever suffer like he had, or like Elgar had. The laws of Ochuria didn’t even allow it.
And yet.

8. "who let you look so cute today?"
As I fidget with my tie in front of the mirror in our shared bathroom, Finnick slides up to me and starts fussing with his hair---finger-combing, fluffing, then smoothing it back down. He catches my eye in the reflection and gives me the job interview outfit I have on, slim-fit black slacks and a fitted button-up (along with the tie I'm two seconds away from yanking off and whipping across the room because it doesn't want to cooperate), a swift appraisal.
“Whoa, who let you look so cute today?” he asks, picking up the bottle of texture salt spray from the washstand and spritzing his hair. I watch him fiddle with his waves, which always lay messier than mine, but when he doesn't get an answer, Finnick prods me expectantly. "Well?"
"I'm not supposed to look cute. I'm supposed to look professional," I remind him, giving up on the tie. It looks fine, I know, I'm just nervous. Job interviews always make me feel like I'm gonna puke.
Finnick sits the bottle down and gives himself a nod of approval. "I didn't say you weren't professional. You can look like you know what you're about and still be cute."
"Yeah, yeah," I laugh.
Finnick gives his hair one last toss, satisfied with the finished style. "Trust me, from a guy whose face has opened more than one door in the past, looking good is never a bad thing."
KPKPKPKP
I'm whistling cheerfully as I let myself into our apartment that evening. Finnick glances up from an episode of The Great British Baking Show. "Well, well, well. Looks like someone knocked their interview out of the park."
"No, not exactly," I say, toeing off my shoes and putting them back into place on the caddy. "Pretty sure I didn't get it."
He frowns as I plop beside him on the couch. "Really. Why so chipper then?"
It's a struggle to keep the huge smile off my face I've been wearing all day. "I met someone."
Finnick slaps my arm. "No shit?"
"Technically, I rediscovered someone. An old friend from high school I was madly in love with. Katniss. Her interview was right before mine, and afterward, I went around the corner and had a drink with her at the bar. And then we went to dinner. And I'm seeing her tomorrow," I add as Finnick claps his hands in glee.
"I told you, man, looking cute works."

5 Bathroom Wallpaper Ideas to Give Your Bathroom a New Look
Getting a new bathroom wallpaper can be one of the best ways to give your home a new look. There are so many choices to choose from, and they are not all expensive. Whether you want a patterned wallpaper or a classic floral print, you can find just the right style to match your tastes.
Foil print
Adding foil print bathroom wallpaper ideas is a great way to make your bathroom look light and airy. The shiny metallic finish is perfect for low-lit bathrooms. It also has the ability to create a classical look with a modern twist.
Foil wallpaper is made from a sheet of metallic foil that is applied to a backing paper. It is then printed with a design using stencils or a screen printing process. This process creates patterns that are never repeating. It also makes use of dyes and metallic effects to enhance the look.
Foil wallpaper is also available in liquid and cork, which is a great way to add a splash of colour to your bathroom. It is also washable, which is a plus.
Woods wallpaper
Using wallpaper in your bathroom is a great way to define your personal space. It is also a fun way to add a little extra pizazz to a less exciting space.
One of the best things about using wallpaper in your bathroom is that it acts as an art piece. You can choose from a wide range of designs to suit your tastes. From whimsical to traditional, you are sure to find something to suit your taste.
You can also choose to use wallpaper in your bathroom in a more conventional way. If you have a pedestal sink or a washstand, you can use the wallpaper as a way to mimic the curved shape of the sink or washstand. This is particularly useful if you are installing wallpaper on a tiled floor.
Stripes
Using striped wallpaper in your home is a great way to add sophistication and class to your interior. This classic pattern is used in many different rooms, and there are a wide variety of colours and patterns to choose from.
Most stripes are arranged vertically. This makes a room seem bigger, while also creating an optical illusion. It is also a great way to make your bathroom look brighter.
There are several different stripe patterns, so it is important to choose one that matches the layout of your room. For example, if you have a small room, a narrow light stripe is ideal. However, if you have a large room, you can use wide, bright stripes to create a spacious look.
Retro print
Adding retro print bathroom wallpaper ideas can add an unexpected element of charm and style to a space. These designs can be as subtle or as bold as you want.
One of the most popular patterns for retro wallpaper is geometric. These can be in different sizes and colors, and can be used to accent any room. They look great with warm neutrals. It’s important to match the pattern to your furniture and other accessories.
Another popular retro print is floral. Florals are a great way to add color to a space. They are often used as an accent wall or in small entryways. They are a great way to add a fun and rebellious vibe.
Black-and-white color palette
Using the black-and-white color palette for bathroom wallpaper is a great way to create a timeless look. It is also a simple and effective way to add color and texture to a bathroom without painting.
There are a wide range of patterns and designs for wallpapering a bathroom. From geometric patterns to whimsical floral designs, there is something for everyone. You can find a color palette that complements your existing decor, or choose an accent wall for a pop of color.
Choosing a monochrome color scheme can be tricky. But it is also the easiest way to create a room that is harmonious and stylish. When you are decorating in this color palette, be sure to add contrasting elements. The balancing act between the patterns and colors in your space will give your bathroom a spa-like feel.
Feature wall
Using a feature wall as a wallpaper canvas is a big improvement on the traditional wall covering. A feature wall serves a dual purpose by allowing you to cover a larger section of wall with wallpaper and keeping splashes from ruining the look of your walls.
A feature wall can be the focal point of your bathroom. Adding a feature wall to your bathroom is a great way to make your room feel bigger. The best part is you can keep the costs down by using cheap wallpaper. This type of wall is also a great place to add a backsplash. Using a backsplash helps prevent moisture issues which is a big problem for many bathroom owners.

What will be the style for bathroom decor in 2023
Although bathroom decor trends change constantly, certain themes have been in fashion since the beginning. These themes are covered below.
Minimalism: The concept behind minimalism means to get rid of all the clutter in our homes. This could involve decluttering shelves or cupboards, removing unneeded items from the home, and replacing them in a functional way. This means that everything should be simple and easy-to-use.
Urban Living – People prefer to live in cities as they are close to all the action. However, many modern urban dwellers want to live in an area where they can still enjoy nature. They don’t want to lose sight of trees and green space when they move into the city. They’ve retreated to smaller homes and apartments with smaller yards.
Eco-Friendly Design – People are more concerned about the environment. This has resulted in a rise of eco-friendly design. Green design is about creating sustainable and healthy spaces. Designers can take many different approaches to creating eco-friendly homes. One way is by incorporating natural materials into their designs. Another way is by ensuring that the home’s overall look doesn’t distract attention from the environment.
Shabby Chic- Shabby Chic is one style that came out of necessity and was not fashionable. In order to avoid wasting resources, women were forced into reusing old clothes during World War II. After the war, women began collecting old clothes and reusing them. Shabby chic is now a popular style in all design areas, from furniture to accessories to food.
Artistic Design: Artistic design has existed for centuries. Artists have always tried to express themselves through art. As technology advances, so does artistic design. Digital art and 3D printing can be combined to create unique objects that would not otherwise be possible.
Industrial Design: Industrial design isn’t new. It goes back hundreds of years. It is because we have so many industries that industrial design is unique. To participate in this type of design, you don’t need to be part a large corporation. With the internet, anything becomes possible.
Modernist Architecture – Modernist architecture gets its name from looking at traditional design elements like symmetry and order. Instead, it focuses on asymmetry and irregularity. This allows architects to experiment with different shapes and sizes. Open floor plans, clean lines and bare walls are some other features.
Contemporary Design – Contemporary design blends both traditional and contemporary influences. This fusion of different design styles gives you something new and unique that will take your taste buds on an adventure.
Nature Inspired – Nature-inspired design is all about bringing nature inside. Fountains add water to any space, and plants and flowers can bring life to it. These are some great examples of interior design that is inspired by nature:
Rustic Interior Decor- Reclaimed barn wood and cedar siding are great options for rustic decor. These elements give the rooms a farmhouse feel that works well in just about any setting.
French Country Interior – If your love for the country but aren’t able to bear the cold, you might consider adding a few French country touches. Soft furnishings and simple colors are best. Consider painting the walls a light color and adding some french provincial chairs to the room. It’s a great place to spend time in the warmer months.
Bohemian Style – If you want to live in an urban environment but still have a sense of the country, the bohemian lifestyle is the way to go. Think of earthy tones, simple fabrics and low-key ornaments.
Before you begin planning your bathroom renovation, here are some things to keep in mind.
When planning your bathroom renovation, there are many factors to consider. The most important thing is to create a budget and make sure that you stick to it. This will ensure that everything runs smoothly and you don’t get any unexpected expenses.
After you have established your budget, you can start to think about the type of bathroom design you would like. Do you prefer traditional designs or something more modern? What space do you have? These are important questions to ask yourself prior to beginning any type of renovation.

How to Use Gold in Your Bathroom Design
Tumblr media
How to Use Gold in Your Bathroom Design there are several ways to incorporate a gold accent into a bathroom design. This color is versatile and can complement a variety of interior styles, so it can fit into nearly everyone's style. Soft finishes can add warmth to a dark space and work well with color blocking schemes. The designer in this space used gold accents on the wall light, faucet, and decorative pieces. Gold accents can also complement black and white bathroom design color schemes. It's important to choose the right type of accents and consider your preferences when choosing colors for your bathroom.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design
Black and white combination
A classic design with a touch of gold is possible in a black and white bathroom design. By pairing gold with white, the colors can become one element. White tiles with gold grout are a great example. This color combination combines elegance and style. Marble walls and floors are perfect places to combine these colors. If you'd like to soften the effect, choose darker gray tones. Alternatively, use gold tiles in a neutral bathroom.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design Another elegant and luxurious bathroom design is one with a golden toilet. This design features gold plumbing, a spacious tub, and a gigantic mirror framed in gold. This bathroom has a very subtle look and uses a gold inner sink. Adding white towels and window dressings helps bring out the gold color, while dark blue serves as an accent color. Gold toilets aren't for everyone, but if you're not a fan of too much gold, this design idea can still work.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design If you're looking for a bathroom that has a touch of femininity, a black and white combination is the perfect option. Black and white accessories and prints can help create a feminine atmosphere, while accents of pink and other makeup colors can add to the ambiance. Black and white also look great together and make for a versatile bathroom design. The combination will look fantastic and be a conversation starter when your guests visit.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design While black and white look fantastic together, you must remember that this combination can also be too harsh. If you're decorating a black and white bathroom design, consider incorporating feminine elements, like mirrors, to soften the effect. Natural light will help you get ready without stifling the room. And a mirror is a good option to bounce light around the space. Adding natural light will make it easier to put on makeup and clothes.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design For a contemporary look, you can add some wooden elements to the space. Wooden accessories will add a touch of natural beauty to the bathroom, while metallic fixtures will add some visual interest and a classic feel. Wood is a great material for a black and white bathroom design and should be complemented with lighter woods. And when it comes to lighting fixtures, you can choose sleek, metallic finishes for the best looks.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design
White vanity top with gold veins
A classic and elegant bathroom with white marble, gold mirrors, and a gold dual washstand is sure to impress. This room features a gold bathroom design vanity with brushed gold pulls and a gold convex mirror. In contrast, a contemporary powder room with a white vanity top with brushed gold pulls, and a light gray marble countertop is sure to attract attention. A gold-framed mirror with scalloped edges graces the wall of a powder room. A pink and blue dragon wallpaper accents a gold cross-handle faucet in this bathroom. Gold Bathroom Design A white vanity top with gold veins is a sophisticated way to incorporate gold into your bathroom design. While gold is a beautiful color on its own, the subtle infusion of white and gold is a stunning touch. Black vanity with gold accents never fails to dazzle. Incorporating a gold accent into your design will give your bathroom a stunning look and make you stand out from the crowd.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design A marble vanity top adds a touch of luxury and elegance to any bathroom. Marble's natural veining and markings are the results of the metamorphosis of limestone. This natural beauty creates swirls and veins that are unique to marble. Whether you choose marble for a traditional bathroom design or an ultra-modern one, marble bathroom design vanity tops add beauty and elegance to the room. Quartz is another classic material that adds a touch of class and sophistication to your design. Quartz countertops are made of 93 percent crushed quartz and 7 percent resin.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design Choosing a vanity top can be a challenging task. While the materials are important, understanding how to pick a vanity top can make the process a little easier. To ensure the best results, research the materials used in vanity tops and learn about them. Thorough knowledge of materials and how they affect the appearance of your room is vital. The following article outlines the various bathroom design materials used to make vanity tops.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design
White border with gold veins on black tiles
The contrasting colors of white and gold can be merged together to create a dazzling bathroom design. White tiles surrounded by a border of gold veins create a luxurious and elegant atmosphere. Gold on white tiles is a beautiful complement to black tiles, while coral walls soften the look of the bathroom. White tiles and gold-colored grout are the most popular color combinations for bathrooms.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design Large gold travertine tiles create a spacious look, making the bathroom design seem larger than it is. Place these tiles on the walls and halfway through the tile borders. Then, add a light-colored mosaic strip that matches the wall color. A vessel sink is the perfect finishing touch for this look. To complete the look, use a rich brown-bordered vanity with gold travertine tiles.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design The bathroom design white floor is the standard in bathrooms, but a black-and-gold combination works well with this look. A dark grey marble floor is another option. The white and gold colors blend together beautifully. If you're a minimalist, the white floor may feel too stark and cramped. A subtle gold accent on the floor, such as a groin-vault ceiling, can add elegance and sophistication.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design While gold and silver can be paired with marble and other materials, silver is a great accent color. A patterned marble bathtub surround, a glass table leg, and matching shower floor tiles are all perfect examples of this color combination. This combination creates a monochromatic scheme with a refined look. Another bathroom design that uses a white border with gold veins on black tiles blends marble and subway tile to create a stylish space.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design Another option for a white-and-gold bathroom is a Moroccan-inspired master bathroom. The gold-colored tiles and a black wall-mounted mirror are Moroccan-inspired accents, which complement the white and off-white color scheme. For a truly spectacular bathroom, add a white vanity with gold veins to create a unique look. It's a simple yet stylish design, and a gold bathroom design is a dream come true.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design
White vanity top with gold veins on black tiles
Incorporating black and gold in your bathroom design can make your bathroom opulent. It is a classic color combination that never fails to impress. Gold veins on black tiles are especially stunning and can be seen in some of the most luxurious bathrooms. Whether you are restoring a traditional bathroom or designing a new one, gold accents are an ideal way to accentuate your decor.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design You can choose a tiled vanity countertop to create a glamorous space in your bathroom design. You can choose a tiled vanity countertop in either ceramic or porcelain. If you don't like tiles, you can choose a freestanding bathroom vanity with a black or white countertop. Ceramic tiles can be challenging to clean, but they are easy to maintain. You can even choose a mosaic tile backsplash to add a pop of color to your room.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design If you are not keen on mixing different bathroom design colors, you can also combine white with gold. It's also a great option if you have a dark color scheme. For instance, a dark gray wall could be a good choice if you'd like a sleek, minimalist look. The same goes for black marble tiles. And for a luxurious touch, a gold vanity top with gold veins will help you complete your look.
Tumblr media
Gold Bathroom Design If you're averse to mixing white and gold, you can use marble. Marble adds visual interest to plain white surfaces. However, plain white surfaces can be drab. Marble will add visual interest to a dull bathroom. In addition to marble, white, and gold bathroom design ideas can be very subtle or extravagant. But whatever your style is, combining these colors will create stunning decor in your bathroom.

so there I was, reading Harrow the Ninth for the umpteenth time, when I reached the planning of dios apate, minor and several descriptions caught my attention:
“The Saint of Patience was bent over a mirror above a wooden washstand, wearing a suit of antique make beneath his robe. You were grudgingly impressed by the sight of a historical artefact actually being worn: black trousers, black jacket, a plain white shirt with a high white collar, very starched. Augustine had combed his hair into a flat cap against his skull, faultless and shiny, with not a strand out of place. Within the collar sat a funny little black tie that was cut in a curve, and he was knotting it into a fat bow. ”
and
“Mercymorn wore a long slip of peach-coloured silk, and her white Canaanite robe was tucked over her forearms and had slipped entirely off her slender, aggrieved shoulders. She had scraped her hair into a merciless and shining coil at the back of her head, and she had no eyes for either of you.”
‘What does this remind me of?’ I wondered. Two very classy, aloof adults, dressed to the nines for a fancy dinner party...
and then it hit me:
Tumblr media
Tamsyn Muir, ma’am, necroauthor prime, did you look at this Leyendecker painting and go, ‘Yes, perfect, exactly how two near-immortals who loathe each other would dress for a formal meal with their god, their third sibling immortal, and two infant immortals’?

Shadowgast, a slow kiss
This took a while because it was a challenge! I've written very few kisses, and it's outside my usual wheelhouse.
cw: nightmares/night terrors with Caleb-typical scratching
~
“Caleb.”
Essek leans over the bed, hand outstretched. For all their violence, Caleb’s nightmares are quiet. A choked quality to his breathing, a kick of the leg, a spasm down his arms. He never screams until he is on the verge of waking.
“Caleb.” Essek tries again to wake Caleb with just his name. This is not the first time he has chosen to intervene in Caleb’s nightmares. But Caleb is so still, his breathing so shallow, his body a rictus of strain and tension. His mouth opens slightly in a tight-jawed grimace that might be rage or agony, and Essek cannot bear this a moment longer.
Inhaling quick and sharp, Essek takes Caleb’s shoulder in a firm hand and shakes once, hard. He then slaps the pillow just in front of Caleb’s face.
Caleb comes awake with an almost convulsive full-body twitch and a choked-off shout. Before he drags his eyes open, he pulls his arms protectively towards his chest. The friction of skin on inexpensive cotton sheets must burn just enough to set compulsion aflame, because he starts to scratch his forearms.
Essek knows better by now than to grab Caleb’s wrist. One black eye on their Aeorian expedition is plenty. He thumps the pillow again. “Caleb! Caleb, you were dreaming. It was a nightmare. You are free, and you are safe.”
He repeats these things like a mantra until Caleb’s breathing slows and his hands relax. Caleb’s pale, clammy skin grows paler and clammier. Urgently, he pushes up on one elbow and moves toward the edge of the bed.
“Basin?” Essek asks, retrieving it swiftly from the washstand.
Caleb reaches wordlessly with a weak hand, but his grip is sound enough to take the washbasin Essek offers. Once he’s been sick, his color improves some. Essek prestidigitates the evidence away without comment, then passes Caleb a cup of water, which Caleb drains in a gulp.
Caleb sets the cup on the nightstand and drags himself upright.
“You made lights,” he croaks.
Essek moves a pale violet globule of light to the head of the bed. “It seemed prudent not to awaken you into pitch darkness.”
The scratches start to show on Caleb’s arms. They look worse than they are on his fair skin. Now that he keeps his nails as short and blunt as possible, he does himself less damage on the infrequent occasions the compulsion takes hold of him. Turning his right hand palm up, he inspects the raised lines on the inside of his forearm.
Haunted as he is, disheveled by the horrors conjured by his sleeping mind, Caleb is lovely. He unbinds his hair at night, which never makes sense to Essek, because it’s always a snarled mess in the morning. Essek hopes he will be brave enough to ask to comb out the tangles one day. Caleb sleeps in a well-worn old tunic, the neck stretched out of shape and wide enough to show the line of his shoulder.
Essek pulls the bedside chair closer with a gesture and sits. Reassurance and questions clamor behind his teeth. He thinks of Aeor.
Aeor was different. It was their first true detente, an exercise in trust. Their time alone together at the ends of the earth is a place apart in Essek’s memory, like something he might keep in a glass globe and turn this way and that to catch different lights.
So far away from the rest of the world, immersed in magic and in each other, they were bolder. They dared more. They bared their deep wounds like challenges. Is this too grotesque for you? Is this?
A year later, in Caleb’s narrow house in Rexxentrum, they are past fear of each other.
They still fear themselves, though.
“I’m sorry,” Caleb says, sounding weary and defeated even to his own ears “And thank you. Again.”
Essek shrugs slim shoulders, white hair backlit soft violet. His eyes catch the light like a cat’s, obscuring his expression further. “I do not like to see you suffer.”
The way Essek phrases it, waking Caleb from a nightmare is a selfish act. Caleb rearranges his tangled bedclothes and observes Essek from the corner of his eye. Trance does not rumple a person as sleep does. Essek’s hair remains coifed. His nightshirt bears no wrinkles. No pillow marks crease his cheek.
Caleb can only imagine what a sight he makes, bleary-eyed and soaked in sour fear sweat. Of course, with his superb darkvision, Essek is privy to every unkempt detail.
“Well.” Mingled amusement and melancholy turn Caleb’s lips up at the corner. “Thank you all the same, as we certainly both benefit.”
Now that he is sitting up, he feels the clammy chill of his tunic all the more. Caleb sighs and climbs out of bed. First, he stops at the washstand to brush his teeth again. Next, he pulls the tunic off over his head as he walks to the dresser, pitching it into the hamper. A helpful violet light drifts to his shoulder, illuminating the drawer Caleb rummages through.
“Would you like help changing the sheets?” Essek has turned away to preserve Caleb’s modesty, though they shared the dome in Aeor on more than one occasion, intimate without intent and exhausted.
Caleb lifts his hair from the collar of a fresh sleepshirt. “Ah, yes, please. That would be kind.”
They change the sheets. The job goes much faster than Caleb is used to with Essek floating the mattress and turning it as necessary with a simple gesture. Essek settles the mattress back onto the bedframe so deftly it doesn't even creak.
They stand on either side of the bed.
“I, ah—” Essek laces his fingers and bobs something like a nervous bow. He begins to glide towards the door, back to the guest room.
“Would you stay?”
Essek halts. He looks back at Caleb with a question in his eyes.
“Would you stay?” Caleb repeats.
Essek tips his head a fraction. His ears swivel. His inhumanity strikes Caleb a sudden, swift blow to the chest. A century and change looks Caleb in the eye.
“I would stay,” says Essek, “if you asked me. Are you asking?”
“Yes. For tonight.”
Essek tilts his head the other way, considering. “For tonight,” he agrees.
Caleb slides between fresh sheets. He expects the other side of the mattress to dip. It doesn’t. Essek has arranged himself cross-legged above the seat of Caleb’s bedside chair.
“Did I interrupt your trance?” Caleb asks, grimacing.
Chagrin flits over Essek’s features before he looks down, hiding behind his white lashes. “Yes. But I don’t mind. As I said, I do not like to see you suffer. Sleep should be restful.”
Caleb lays his head on his pillow. They watch each other. Essek renews his dancing lights, making them dimmer this time. With the light to help his human eyes, Caleb sees Essek’s gaze linger on the empty half of the bed.
Caleb folds down the bedclothes in clearer invitation.
Essek presses his lips together and swallows. He floats away from the chair and onto the mattress. His slight weight settles, but he struggles with the sheets and blankets.
“It’s been decades since I laid in a bed,” Essek mutters, embarrassed. With Caleb’s help, they sort out the covers and lie facing each other. Not yet touching, though Essek’s head rests on Caleb’s pillow.
Eye contact still makes Caleb want to crawl out of his skin, so he chooses a freckle to look at instead. “Do you dream?” Caleb asks. “When you trance, I mean.”
“Mm.” Essek’s eyelashes flicker as he considers. “No. We dream when we sleep. In trance, the mind…” The covers shift with Essek’s blanketed gesture. Caleb wants to do nothing more than to touch the furrow between his brows. “There is no good Common word. It is meditation, but moreso. A slow quickening. A quick slowing.”
Essek’s voice, soft and low and lightly accented, washes over Caleb. “But it is always restful.” Caleb prompts him to continue.
“Not… There is none of the unpredictability of sleep, but trance is not always relaxing. Without care and practice, meditation can become rumination. That is unpleasant.” Essek averts his eyes. “Not so unpleasant as nightmares.”
The violet lights fade, and Essek does not renew them. Speaking is easier in the dark. Caleb rolls onto his back. Essek sees in the dark, but Caleb holds onto the illusion of additional privacy. “I think I dreamt of the asylum.”
Essek’s steady breathing stirs the hairs above Caleb’s ear.
“I have a perfect memory, but I do not remember my dreams with any clarity. I do not remember those eleven years.” Caleb’s eyes blindly roam the ceiling. “So every dream is a little bit a nightmare, and nightmares of that time are worse. I think - and I know because I am thinking that I am not there because when I was there I… could not… or did not think. But still I think ‘I am in the fog again.’ And then I think ‘did I ever leave the fog.’ Sometimes I hate those dreams more than the ones of the chair or the tower.”
Worst of all: fire. He doesn’t say so, because Essek knows.
Caleb turns back onto his side, facing Essek. He rests his hand in the narrow space between them, fingers curled. “What do you dream about when you sleep? You, Essek. Not you, drow.”
“I haven’t slept in decades.”
“The last time you laid down in a bed?”
“Just so.” Essek nestles his head more comfortably on Caleb’s pillow.
The ends of their noses brush, and it is as natural as anything to close that last distance and kiss.
This isn’t their first kiss. Their first kiss was a kiss goodbye, when Essek departed on the run after Aeor and they thought it might be their last kiss, too, so good it made Caleb’s teeth hurt, like biting metal foil but good, with the deep-ocean pressure of desperation and farewell thudding in his ears.
This kiss is soft. And slow.
They come apart as naturally as they came together, sharing a pillow and fresh sheets. Caleb sweeps a thumb back and forth across Essek’s cheekbone.
“If you wish to sleep, I will wake you,” says Caleb, “if you have a nightmare.”
Essek smiles, huffs a little laugh, and closes his eyes.

This is an uptown view from the living room of Architectural Designer Brian’s masculine, drool-worthy penthouse, including a charming penthouse across 9th Street and the top of the Empire State Building in New York City. This place is too classy.
Tumblr media
An amber alabaster urn glows in the entryway to Brian’s Greenwich Village apartment.
Tumblr media
Brian’s foyer also functions as a dining space and a gallery for his collections of objects.
Tumblr media
Looking across the dining room into the adjacent wet bar, perfectly located for conversing with friends while mixing cocktails.

Mahogany shelves above the wet bar are arranged with cocktail glasses and other favorites items including horn bowls purchased in the East Village, terracotta jars from Bulgaria, and a group of Delft porcelain flower bricks from the estate sale of Bunny Mellon.
Tumblr media
An upright piano in the dining room provides another display surface.
Tumblr media
The wall ledge is lined with some of Brian’s taxidermy collection, much of it inherited from his great-uncle, a grocer, who ran a taxidermy side business for hunters.

Brian selected glossy black porcelain tiles and a marble washstand for the guest bath.
Tumblr media
The ceiling of the guest bath is actually a photo of a Caravaggio painting re-invented as wallpaper.

An Ever Fixed Mark (arranged marriage Au)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vesemir’s slap hit Geralt firmly on the back of the head. Two seconds previously Geralt had been complaining about his upcoming, politically motivated marriage to some nobleman’s son.
“It’s a good thing, lad. Other witcher schools would kill for something like this,” he said. Geralt knew it was right, legal punishment for those who shortchanged or attacked witchers. It set a precedent, and apparently the earl was very influential. It could change things.
“And there isn’t a fidelity clause,” Eskel said. “It doesn’t have to be more than a sort of partnership.”
“No consummation requirement either,” sniggered Lambert from the other side of the campfire. “You don’t even have to fuck the bugger if he’s ugly.” This earned him a sharp elbow from Eskel.
“What I don’t understand is what they get out of this,” Geralt said. It had been bugging him.
“Ah,” Vesemir said, looking uneasy. “It seems that the payment is...taking the viscount off of the Earl’s hands, officially. It seems he’s something of an embarrassment.”
The unease in Vesemir’s voice was subtle, but after so many decades with their teacher, the wolves of Kaer Morhen knew the slight variations of tone and expression. His discomfort was twofold, first, the obvious implication that the Earl was sending his son to live a dangerous life alongside a witcher in order to...deal with him. A death sentence, from father to son. The second was that Geralt, already saddled with a political marriage, was also to be saddled with a nuisance of a husband.
“But why me?” Geralt knew he was whining like a child, but he couldn’t help it. It was three days to Lettenhove, and then they’d be there at least a week for the wedding and he’d have to act courtly.
He wasn’t good at courtly.
When he thought about it none of them were.
“It couldn’t have been me,” Eskel said, a little shyly. He was right. Eskel believed his scars were horrible, made him unlovable and undesirable. Geralt didn’t buy it, but nobles could get a bit stroppy about appearances. And if they humiliated Eskel because of his scarring...no, Geralt wouldn’t let that happen.
“Couldn’t have been me,” Lambert said, mouth full and rather cheerfully. No. It couldn’t have been him either, no manners and no filter, they’d be at war with the entirety of Lettenhove within a day.
“And I’m an old man,” Vesemir said. He didn’t actually wink, but he might as well have. Older though he was, he was still three times the warrior of any young human man walking about these days. But from what Geralt had heard, and it hadn’t been much, the Viscount was young, not quite twenty, and it wouldn’t be kind to marry him to someone so much older than himself. Geralt reflected grimly that he was nearly four times the youth’s age.
Three days of riding passed far too quickly for Geralt’s liking.
Chateau de Lettenhove loomed. It was a fairytale castle built by a man expecting a siege. There were high, rising towers with huge windows and artful buttresses, but to the trained eye of the witchers, it was a fortress. The towers had carved, decorative arrow slits, the windows all had iron grates over them, wrought like lace, and the buttresses could be easily used as defensive positions. All in all, it was a castle that growled, albeit genteelly.
They were greeted first by a footman, and then a line of servants increasing in rank, until a very snobby servant, likely the head housekeeper from the way all the maids scuttled away from her, brought them to an anteroom. At this point courtesy dictated that she bade them sit down on one of the lavish sofas. She did not. She chose instead to turn up her nose and sweep away.
The four witchers remained standing, not looking at one another. Geralt could feel Lambert stewing about the obvious slight beside him. He reached out, still staring straight ahead, and tweaked Lambert’s ear.
This was about to result in much brotherly retribution and probably a brawl when the housekeeper returned, followed by another woman.
“His lordship the Earl of Lettenhove is attending to vital business,” the housekeeper said, tone of voice implying that the arrival of four witchers who were muddying her nice clean floor were certainly not vital. “I present, her ladyship, Countess Amaria Elizaveta de Lettenhove.”
The countess curtsied, it was a polite little bob, and she smiled a little dazedly as the witchers all gave their best attempt at courtly bows. A small but significant part of Geralt’s brain was panicking, and it dealt with this new form of terror by imagining that the school of the wolf, seen from the outside plying their newly practiced bows, must look like a line of seagulls vying for a dropped crumb.
Vesemir stepped forward and, in a rather more suave gesture than Geralt had been expecting, took the Countess’ hand and bowed over it. Two bows seemed excessive to Geralt, but since it seemed to indicate that Vesemir would be taking over the speaking for now, he certainly wasn’t about to bring it up.
“A pleasure to meet you, my lady,” Vesemir said, straightening and releasing her hand. “May I introduce the school of the wolf. Eskel is--”
The countess had waved a limp hand. “Plenty of time for that at the feast, deary,” she said, smiling dreamily. There was something in her eyes that was a little absent, possibly more than a little if her calling Vesemir ‘deary’ was anything to go by. Geralt looked the countess over. He had been given to understand through the brief letters from the Lettenhove estate, that this wasn’t the viscount-Julian, the letters said-’s mother, but rather his step mother. She was a petite lady with mousy hair and rather absent blue eyes. Her dress was obviously of very fine material, rose pink and probably silk, although Lambert would know better than him, but a simpler cut than Geralt had expected.
His examination, done in a split second, decided that she wasn’t an immediate enemy, but probably not a terrible useful ally.
“I’m to give you this courting gift,” here she proffered a small but beautifully carved wooden box. “And to show you to your quarters.” She smiled again, and it was warm, but still vapid.
“Custom usually dictates that the fiancé give the courting gift,” Vesemir said, cautiously taking the box.”
“My husband wanted someone else to present it,” she said. “But your grandson can give his gift in person when he meets Julian. Now what...” she trailed off, not even noticing Vesemir’s slight sputter at grandson. “Ah yes, your rooms, right this way please.”
She got lost on the way to their rooms and a shaking footman showed them up to a suite, then kindly took her by the hand and led her away.
They sat, silent, in the nice but not lavish quarters. Four beds in curtained alcoves off to the side, and in the middle a room with a table and chairs, and a sofa and more comfortable chairs in front of a fireplace. It was already blazing and the witchers stared into it for a minute.
“That was strange,” Eskel finally said, and the others just nodded.
“Should I have insisted on giving her our courting gift?” Geralt said after another pause. “I thought they were usually given in person.”
“I think you’re fine,” Vesemir said. “If they broke that tradition they can hardly fault you for doing the same.”
Lambert, sprawled across the sofa, said, “When’s dinner?”
“I think I’m supposed to meet Julian first,” Geralt said. “Someone will probably come get us.
“When we meet Julian you mean,” Lambert said, sitting up.
“No, I’ve been thinking about that and I want to meet him alone.”
Vesemir nodded, “Sensible, we don’t know how he will react to one witcher, let alone four.” Then he smirked, although not unkindly, at Lambert. “You will be introduced and have a chance to be nosy later. At dinner perhaps.”
They unpacked their belongings, potion bottles and swords looking out of place along the old but nicely carved furniture. After days of tension on the road as Geralt wound himself tighter and tighter with anxiety for his...wedding, yes his wedding, now this pause was jarring. Eskel tapped him on the shoulder and gave him a look.
Geralt turned around to give Eskel room to work.
On the Path, witchers are rarely, if ever touched. Certainly not in a friendly way if the other isn’t being compensated. It wasn’t therefore, unusual for the wolves of Kaer Morhen to be tactile with one another. Not hugging and cuddling sweetly, but rough housing and wrestling ending in exhausted dog piles. But Eskel had a gift, he had magic hands, literally and figuratively, and he carefully oiled his hands while Geralt took off his travel stained shirt.
Geralt sunk into himself, half meditating as Eskel dragged the tension from his shoulders and beat the knots from his muscles. It wasn’t a relaxing massage, but it always left him feeling like liquid, if slightly bruised. When it was over and the liquid feeling had left him, or at least subsided enough that his knees could hold him, he stood, clapping Eskel on the shoulder in thanks.
Then came the hard bit.
Geralt needed to be courtly. He scrubbed the bits he could with water and a cloth from a little washstand, but he hoped he could have a hot bath later. Afterwards Vesemir advanced on him and battled the dirt from underneath his fingernails with a stiff brush before attacking his hair with a comb. Geralt sat on the ground like a child, his brothers looking on in amusement as Vesemir sat behind him on the couch and teased the tangles from his hair. He was making faces, he knew, but Vesemir wasn’t gentle, and he hadn’t detangled his hair in some time.
Scrubbed raw, with his hair floating around his shoulders like a silver cloud, Lambert presented him with a doublet.
It was black, which was good.
That was the only good thing about it. It was most likely a very nice, extremely fashionable doublet. Lambert might take delight in embarrassing Geralt, but he didn’t mess about with clothing. The issue was that it was attention grabbing, it was subtle in a way that seemed to play itself down while actually drawing every eye. It was black, in the same way a raven’s wing was black, every shimmering shade shifting as the fabric moved.
And he would be wearing it.
He did wear it.
His hands shook as he buttoned it up.
He was just examining himself in a slightly tarnished hand mirror when there was a sharp knock at the door. The footman let himself in right after and bowed swiftly.
“I am to escort the witchers of Kaer Morhen to meet Lord Julian.”
“Just the one witcher,” Geralt said. Vesemir pressed his courting gift, and the little carved boxed nestled on top, into his arms.
The footman didn’t seem to care and simply turned away, leading Geralt through hallways that all looked the same and down two very winding staicases, the second of which was so narrow his shoulders actually brushed the walls. They stopped outside a plain wooden door. The footman bowed and smiled. It looked, Geralt couldn’t help but feel, rather cruel. Then he left. Geralt knocked softly on the door, feeling very large in the narrow, low ceilinged hallway.
Eskel had told him once of a myth he had read, about a beast, half man half bull, hidden away in a maze. Geralt felt like such a beast, too large and rough and probably going to barge in and do everything wrong.
“Come in.”
It was soft, but not nervous, and Geralt pushed open the door.

Chapter 1
The gang (consisting of Clay, Jensen, Cougar and Aisha) were in an empty bar after helping Pooch get to the hospital, in time for the birth of his newborn son.
“4 glasses of your finest whisky please.” Clay asked the bartender, leaning into Aisha and wrapping his arm around her.
The bartender nodded.
“Make that 5 glasses, Zhou. Xièxiè (thank you).” A female voice was heard from the counter.
The clicking of some heels added rhythm to the soft music that played onward without pause. Her eyes scanned the room with determination in search of someone when her eyes met Jensen, she smiled.
They all looked at her as she put the 5 glasses on a tray and go over to their table. She placed the glasses, one-by-one, and of course, the last one to get their drink was Jensen.
She then took her whisky, sitting down in their seating area.
“Can we know the name of the lovely lady who has decided to join us for a drink?” Clay smiled at her. “Tao...” Aisha beamed at her. “Aisha...” The woman smiled back at Aisha.
“You know her?” Clay questioned his ‘girlfriend’.
Aisha smiled at him and sipped her whisky before explained, “Gentlemen, this is Maya.”
Jensen had to look twice, maybe clean his ‘Harry Potter’ glasses inbetween looking twice.
“This is Maya?” He asked. “Yep.” “What, the Chinese agent?” “Former agent.” Tao interrupted him. “Aren’t you the one with those cool knife skills?” Jensen asked her again. “Sword skills. Kind of like ‘Kill Bill’. Or samurai ninjas. Your choice.” Tao replied.
Cougar gave his respect to Tao, tipping his hat at her. She smiled back at him.
“So you know about Max?” Clay inquired Tao, tilting his head.
“Yeah. He killed my father who was part of a sex trafficking syndicate here in Tianjin. I was supposed to be part of it but I went against him, helping the children involved, escape the place.”
Tao was a beautiful Middle-Eastern woman, but only on the outside. She was highly practiced at seduction. With her looks and high cheek bones it was all too simple. Nothing so pretty could possibly harm you, right?
Well, she was a former Chinese agent. What do you think?
Tumblr media
Tao watched as it seeped up through the joints in the floorboards and snakes out from dark corners and crevices. The blackness formed from some primeval hatred, and the collective despair of all those it’s taken before, closes in on the group, bleeding into their shadows cast by their own candlelight.
It felt as if her lungs were slowly filling with water, as if there was just less space in them for the air. Inflating them felt like pushing up a lead weight on her chest.
Why couldn't she breathe? Why was it so hard?
“Jensen... I can’t leave.” Tao gulped.
Jensen came up to her, not that close so she doesn’t kick him where the sun don’t shine, but close enough so only them two can talk to each other.
“What? What do you mean?”
“I can’t leave Tianjin. I don’t know why but I can feel it in my chest and in my soul that I can’t leave. I can’t help you any further.” She mumbled.
“Okay, okay... calm down Maya. Just sit down and breath in and out... slowly.” Jensen carefully touched her shoulders and slowly helped her sit down on a nearby box.
Fortunately, she did not hit him or hurt him badly, out of self-defence.
But later on, Jensen was hit really badly by Max’s new bodyguard. Maya, even though she couldn’t leave Tianjin, left her hometown, and came to the US of A to heal Jensen.
He was currently in a supermarket, just like the last time. He was injured in the arm, but it was the same one as last time.
“I’m here. Where is he hurt?” Tao came up to where Jensen was lying and Cougar, Aisha and Clay was surrounding him. She had a first aid kit strapped to her waist.
Tumblr media
“His right arm. Again.” Aisha faltered.
“What do you mean again, Aisha? Did you hurt him the last time?” Tao remarked.
“By accident!” Aisha replied.
Tao sighed as she takes out a doggy squeaky toy and passed it to Jensen. “Bite on this. This might hurt.”
A lot of blood was coming out of a hole. Tao put a lot of pressure on the wound. She put a dressing on his wound to clot and seal the wound. She checked Jensen’s heartbeat and breathing. It was quite high.
She elevated the wound above the heart to slow the breathing.
“It is a good job the bullet didn’t go all the way into your body Jensen. I’ll just be putting a pressure bandage on you for now. We will have to get you into a hospital for that wound though.” Tao explained. “Thank you for coming, Maya. I know you’re not supposed to leave Tianjin but I appreciate you helping me.” Jensen replied.
She sighed.
“Well, to be honest, I didn’t want to but you guys need my help with Max and I wasn’t going to let my situation, no matter how bad it is, get in the way of that.” Tao stated.
Jensen took the toy out of his mouth and smiled at her.
Tumblr media
Tao’s hotel room contained a small double bed, neatly made, two straight-backed chairs, a washstand, a bureau--without any mirror--and a small table. There were no drapery curtains at the dormer windows, no pictures on the wall.
Just then, a knock on the door.
Tao opened the door to see Jensen, outside of her door.
“Hi.” “Jensen. What are you doing outside my hotel room?” “I just... wanted to thank you Maya --”
Tao crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
“Jensen. Call me Tao. Maya is just Aisha’s little nickname for me.”
“Got it.”
A heavy silence settled over them, thicker then the uneasy tension in the atmosphere.
He's not usually the kind of guy Tao fantasise about. For starters, he's blonde and she’d always liked brunettes. She lusted after green eyed men with a handle on the world of business. Until she met Jensen.
“Tao...” Jensen hesitated, trying to say her name in his head over and over again. “I... I... I --” “Yes Jensen?” “Fine, I’ll come out with it. I like you. I really, really like you.”
Tao smiled and pulled his shirt so he could move closer to her. She then moved themselves so her back is towards the door. She turned so she could close and lock the door.
She strolled over to him, placing her hands on his shoulders and rubbing over his chest. She placed sweet kisses upon his neck, for every time she placed them there she knew she’d adored him for all time. She was on her tippy-toes.
“Tao...?”
She kept rubbing his chest, eventually putting her hands near his hips, moving his shirt up and over his head. She threw his shirt over to one of the straight-back chairs.
“Jensen. I like you too. Very, very much. And I want to show you how much I do like you...Pull your shorts down. I want to see the ‘dangle’ that Aisha has been telling me about.”
Jensen gave no time of pulling his shorts down.
Tumblr media
Tao was on her knees. “Naughty, naughty. Not wearing any underwear...” She smirked at him.
“Liking the angle of the dangle?” Jensen chuckled.
Tumblr media
Tao smirked once more and stood up to meet Jensen’s gaze.
“Of course I am.” Her body was pressed against his. His naked body against hers.
“Can you... erm...” Jensen trailed off as he looked down at his naked body.
“I guess it’s not fair with you being the only one naked...” Tao beamed.
She wrapped her hands over his member and pumping it up and down. She then licked his head and swirling her tongue around and on it, making him groan and moan.
“Fuck Tao...” He praised.
As she kept going, her milky breasts spilled out of her top. He looked at her with a soft smile, commenting on her breasts and how looking up to see them was surprising.
Tao had the breasts of a French actress, rather than anything North American television has to offer.
He pulled her, once again, to meet his gaze. Jensen ran his hands down her front, over her body that changed by the day.
He pushed her onto the back wall. Tao arched her back as he kissed all over her body, pushing her skirt down, so she was completely naked as well.
“Let me guess... Wearing underwear in the night-time is annoying for you. I get it.” Jensen smirked at her this time.
“I guess so. I didn’t know you can be so...dominant.”
“Well, you don’t know a lot about me. That’s about to change.”

Violet Harmon’s
Bedroom Pt.1
Tumblr media
Just realised I haven’t done a post about Violet’s bedroom, which I’ve always loved. And I think one of the main reasons is because it’s dark and gloomy without intending to be...and by that I mean her room isn’t painted black, or decorated with skulls and candelabras to make it look spooky or Gothic..
It’s light blue (sometimes looks green in darker scenes) with neutral toned bedding and beautiful dark wood furniture, with low lighting to set the mood.
Tumblr media
But there’s also her beautiful colourful tassel rug (Anthropologie’s Karakoram rug) which contrasts the moody vibe her room has. The rug gives a bit of a boho feel to her room.

On one of her dressers she has a gum ball machine that is filled with doll limbs (creepy, but awesome) and a silver lamp that has a small doll’s head on the base. On the wall behind the dresser are lots of belts hung on the wall. A large brown Ferris wheel sits on another desk. Also, her dresser is an antique marble top dresser, or what are known as Victorian washstands. Super expensive, but beautiful. And hers is so pretty with the floral painting on the front of it.

Her double bed sits in front of two windows, both with dark wooden blinds. Her bedding is a grey? duvet (sorry, UK term there) and a dusty pink sheet and pillows. She has several cushions, one of which is black velvet with a gold printed tree.
Tumblr media
On the nightstand next to her bed are various lamps and items that change throughout the season. On the wall behind is a skull poster, called “Night of the dead” by Delicious Design League. This poster is still available from their website for $20 (https://store.deliciousdesignleague.com/products/night-of-the-dead)

On the dresser sitting in front of the chalk board are two wall lights and two iron storage baskets. I’ve never really liked industrial style furniture or lighting, but it’s something I’ve definitely changed my mind about.
She also has black industrial style shelves, mostly with books on. Behind the black shelves are several framed butterfly and insect taxidermy, or they could be faux taxidermy?
Tumblr media
Ps, if you’re not into taxidermy (something I don’t like at all) you can very easily buy framed faux butterflies. Or, you can very easily buy fabric or paper butterfly cut outs and put them in a frame yourself. She also has two morrocon style leather poufs, one in light purple and another in black. These can be bought easily online.

Violet’s bedroom is pretty cool. I would describe her style partly as “eclectic”, which means she has a broad range of style and tastes from different trends, time periods, cultures, or ideas...you get the idea! If you want to replicate it then it’s pretty easy to do and it won’t cost you much.
