Tumblr media
if you want to dance with me,
you love saturday nights. schools done for the week, the paperwork is all done, you can spend the whole day however you'd like. and what's a better way to spend the time than spending it with your lovely girlfriend.
you're laying on your bed, flipping through the pages of your book as robin looks around your room.
"oh my god, you have a record player?" she gasps, finding the player under the cabinet. "yeah, it's a bit old though, i haven't played anything in a while." you explain, closing your book and walking towards robin. "i have a few records saved, you wanna play them?" you ask, opening the bottom drawer, revealing the few records you have.
"let me see.." you rummage through the records, "this one!" you smile. "this is the one." you held up the vinyl. "hm?" robin furrowed her brows. "you'll see come on." you set up the record as the music starts playing.
dance with me,
"do you wanna, dance with me?" you ask, offering your hand as robin's face turns red. "yeah, yeah, yeah!" robin smiles, holding your hand. your hands wrap around her waist as her hands wrap around your neck.
"okay just a warning i have terrible coordination, and i can't dance at all." robin warned as she laughed. "it's okay," you smile, tucking her hair behind her ear, "just follow me, yeah?" you say as she nodded.
it's pretty fast but this is what you do in parties right,
"follow my steps, m'love." you added as robin smiled, nodding. robin's steps gracefully follow yours as you sway to the rhythm.
"see? you're amazing at this." you say, excited. robin grew a smile as she looked up to you, how can one be so pretty? she thought. you danced to elegantly to the music as robin tries her best to follow.
and i know it's hard to tell,
"you're really pretty y'know that? so, so, so pretty." robin stated as you feel your cheeks turn pink. "you're prettier, bubs. really, really, really pretty." you added.
but i think i really like you,
"i really like you, y/n." robin says. the room started to feel really hot all of the sudden. did the fan turn off? did the window just close suddenly? oh my god, is my face red?
you shake the thoughts off your head as you look down before smiling. "i really like you too." you reply, the tension building up in the room.
before you know it your lips are connected to robin's. her hands cup your face as you felt a smile grow on your lips. "i would give you the world if i can." robin confesses.
"you're my world." you reply.

FASHION AND FILM CROSS PATHS IN NANA
Tumblr media
Anime has always been a dominating factor in the fashion industry due to its influence on its audience and cult following. On-screen cinema has inspired an array of people to dress similar or spot on to famous characters such as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf from Gossip girl. These outfits and characters also transpire into having a lasting effect in cinema i.e. the Academy Award nominated film The Devil Wears Prada. Because these shows and movies have such a large cult following due to their aesthetic and nostalgic attachments, individuals bond themselves to the cinematic art these on-screen displays portray. NANA is the story of Nana Komatsu and Nana Osaki. They first meet on a train to Tokyo and discover that they are the same age.
Tumblr media
Both Nana’s have different styles. Nana Komatsu (pictured left) goes by Hatchi and Nana Osaki (pictured right). Hatchi and Nana both have different aesthetics, Nana dresses with a punk rock whilst Hatchi dresses in very girly-esq outfits. They both have different aspirations; Hatchi moves to Tokyo to be with her boyfriend Shoji, and Nana moves to become a famous punk singer.
In NANA, Vivienne Westwood is referenced in almost every episode. You can see almost all of the characters wearing something by the designer, even if it is as small as a pair of earrings.
NANA has had a huge impact on fashion, especially through its resurrection on social media apps i.e. TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram. In summer 2020, because of TikTok, Vivienne Westwood’s pearl choker with her crystal orb logo gained massive popularity, being seen on celebrities and influencers alike. The necklace is detailed as a single strand with pearls and a Westwood orb falling in the middle of the necklace. There is also a three strand version of the necklace. Both these necklaces were featured in NANA. Now, because of its resurrection, it is seen as the It-Girl accessory of 2021 thanks to its popularity on TikTok.
NANA has truly inspired a lot of people, knowingly or not, to buy many of the exact pieces featured in the show. Because of its affluence and hype, some of these iconic pieces are reselling on the second hand market for astronomically high price points.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the boom of Westwood’s influence on a newer generation, this makes it somewhat harder to get some iconic pieces due to Nana’s popularity. Because of this, it has caused a lot of fakes to be created via Aliexpress, Dhgate, and eBay to be sold on various reselling apps i.e. Grailed, Heroine and Depop. As a result, it sometimes gets harder to identify the real and authentic piece especially if someone is buying into the brand because of NANA and its symbolic influence it has on the buyer or watcher. It takes away from the brand because it’s turning an iconic brand like Westwood into fast fashion because of the mass produced pieces. In no way is this Westwood’s fault because she supplied products that rose in popularity due to anime, social media and seeing people wearing these pieces. However, if Westwood was to lower her prices and start to mass produce her items, it would take away from the brand’s exclusivity and message. An example of this would be House Of Sunny where they rose to fame due to their infamous David Hockney inspired dress. House of Sunny based themselves upon sustainability and spaced out drops however when the dress started to get popular they started to mass produce items. This also affected the quality of their garments and their dress was now being replicated on AliExpress. Westwood’s jewelry is costume jewelry, so they’re not made out of pearls, diamonds or precious metals. It’s up to you if you want to spend £120 on a MINI BAS RELIEF CHOKER via the official Vivienne Westwood site.
Westwood’s influence on fashion has inspired a generation of young creatives. However, her influence on NANA truly changed the way people correlate animated TV shows into real life outfit and lifestyle inspiration.

All about The London Eye or the Millennium Wheel
The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, is one of the UK's most iconic attractions. This giant ferris wheel is an observation wheel from where you can get unique and stunning views of London. Many people, equipped with their UK tourist visa, make a beeline for this place the moment they set foot in the country - such is the craze for this the London Eye. What makes the London Eye so special?
Tumblr media
The Numbers
Standing at a massive height of 443 feet (135 metres), the London Eye was once the tallest ferris wheel in the world in the year 2000, but since then has been surpassed by a few more observation ferris wheels. The London Eye is 394 feet (120 metres) in diameter, weighs over 1000 tons, and took around £70 million ($91.5 million) to make. It has 32 capsules that act as observation cabins that are controlled by motorised mounts that keep them upright no matter at what angle the cabin is at. Each cabin can carry 25 passengers at a time.
Tumblr media
With 64 cables attaching to the hub of the wheel, the whole wheel leans out at an angle of 65 degrees. London Eye turns slowly, completing 2 rotations per hour, but this gives the passenger enough time to take in the views and click some amazing pictures. Each year, more than 3.5 million visitors come to see the London Eye, no wonder there’s always such a rush for London Eye tickets.
How did it come into being?
In 1993, Architect couple, Julia Barfield & David Marks, of architecture firm Marks Barfield Architects, entered the London Eye’s design for a competition being held by The Sunday Times. The competition aimed to create a new landmark to celebrate the new millennium in London (that’s why London Eye was previously named Millennium Wheel). Though the competition never came to fruition, the London Eye did after the architects, sponsored by British Airways, began developing the attraction. It was built on the original site envisioned by the architects.
Tumblr media
The London Eye was inaugurated on Millennium New Year’s Eve, by then Prime Minister Tony Blair. However, it was still not open to the public. On the 1st of Feb, 2000, the first test run carrying the general populace was carried out, and on the 9th of March, the London Eye was properly opened to the public. Since then, it has been one of London’s most popular and loved landmarks.
Ownership
Today, the London Eye is owned by Merlins Entertainment Group but has seen many owners over the years. When it first started, it was owned by British Airways, Marks Barfield Architects, and The Tussauds Group. Later, The Tussauds Group bought out the shares of British Airways and Marks Barfield Architects. Later, The Tussauds Group got bought out by the Blackstone Group which later became Merlin Entertainments Group. They are the sole owners now.
Tumblr media
Fun Facts About the London Eye
The  London Eye operator has a keen eye for celebs, and according to his calculations, Jessica Alba has been on the wheel around 31 times. Kate Moss comes close with 25 rides.
More than 5000 couples have gotten engaged on the London Eye.
The design of the London Eye is such that it is supported only on one side.
There aren’t many giant ferris wheels around the world that have this distinction.
For the London Restaurant Festival, one of London Eye’s capsules transformed into a restaurant where chefs, Daniel Boulud and Gordon Ramsay served 10 people meals.
On the clearest day, you can see Windsor Castle from the London Eye.
All travellers with the UK visit visa must check out this marvellous landmark. London Eye opening times are 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, so plan accordingly as many new tourists arrive late or too early.

Survey #438
“i won’t let you die, keep you alive just to remind you of what you are not”
What is your favorite card game? Probably Magic: The Gathering, even though I'm not great at it. I just ADORE the artwork, mainly. Is YouTube one of your favorite websites? Yeah, given I'm constantly on it. Does your mother have a sister? If so, what’s her name? Yeah, named Kelly. What are you doing tomorrow? I'll be going with Mom to the pool at the gym. She goes Tuesdays and Thursday, so I'm going to start joining her to help ease soreness from my exercise days. Would you ever want to go to Africa? It's high on my bucket list! I am DESPERATE to visit the KMP and photograph and pet and pamper the meerkats. :') Last time you went bowling? Not since I was on a date with Girt. Would you ever want to own a bakery? Noooo, I don't enjoy cooking of any sort. I'm way too impatient. Do you like to text? It's funny, I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. I make typos too much and autocorrect only wants to work at the WRONG time, it seems. I'd still rather text than actually talk on the phone, though. You want your next pet to be what? To be realistic, it'll probably be a western hognose snake. I REALLY want a tarantula, but Mom absolutely will not allow it for as long as I live with her, lol. Trust me, I've pestered her about it. Would you rather be a vampire or a mermaid? Eh, probably a vampire. Do you prefer white or black electronics? Black. Do you like Nerds candy? Yeah. Is your favorite animal something you can have as a pet? I could write a college-length essay on why you absolutely shouldn't, but it's sadly legal in some countries. Thankfully, not America. What was the last classic novel you read? Did you enjoy it? Oh yikes, I have no idea. Name three movies which have a soundtrack you really love: Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Tarzan, and The Blair Witch Project: Book of Shadows. What’s the scariest video game you’ve ever played? I know it's super cliche, but I genuinely found Outlast terrifying. As well, SCP Containment Breach is a game I can't even play because the jumpscares startle me too much, lol. They're just too loud. Do you own any pet fish? What kind of fish are they? No. I'm not really interested in keeping fish as pets. What is the most irritating thing that a boyfriend or girlfriend has ever done to you? Tyler wanted to talk CONSTANTLY. Barely even two weeks in and he got all bent out of shape over there being days we just didn't text. Like dude, especially this early in a relationship, I don't want to talk 24/7. He acted like we were together for years or some shit. Like sorry I want alone time. That relationship was just a bad idea. Have you ever known someone who was in an abusive relationship? Sadly. Out of all of your friends/relatives, who would you say has the best vocabulary? Probably Girt. He's just in general very smart. When yawning, do you cover your mouth? If out in public, yes. If you had a garden, what would you plant in it? Would you actually tend to it, or would it wind up neglected & withered? I could NEVER maintain a garden, but if I had the motivation and tolerance for the heat, that'd be nice. I'd love mostly flowers, and a grapevine would be pretty! Plus some strawberries. Do you like peanut butter? Yeah, definitely. What about marshmallows? Yep. How do you roast your marshmallows? They have to be BARELY brown at all. Like it has to be the liiightest toast. Do you eat s’mores? Ugh, hell yes. I really want some now, thanks. Own a lava lamp? No, but I'd love a pink one. :( Or black. Own any sort of glow-in-the-dark room accessory? No. Ever done something sexual in public? No, I have common decency. Do you like the taste of squid or eel? I COULD FUCKING NEVER TRY EITHER. Slimy or rubbery stuff like that is such a massive no. Ever date anybody in middle school? Yeah, Aaron in the 7th grade for a few months. Did you like to get dirty when you were little? I think I did. Like I know I loved speeding through mud puddles on my bike as a kid. Own anything that has to do with dragons or unicorns? I have a lot of dragon decor. Ever wanted to be a vet? Yep. Ever written your number in a public bathroom or a school text book? If so, did anyone actually call you? No. What type of weapon do you prefer? Uh, none...? I don't like weapons. Is there something that you haven’t told anyone that you actually would like to tell someone? No, not really. Would you rather watch a full season of American Idol, or So You Think You Can Dance? The latter, by far. I used to love that show. I really enjoy watching dances. Have you ever worn boxers? Pretty sure no? Last hickey was from? I've only gotten to that point with one person, you can figure it out. Have you ever put a kick me sign on the back of someone? No, that is so rude. Are there any inappropriate pictures of you anywhere? No. I've never taken an inappropriate picture. How many times do you tend to sneeze in a row? Two or three. Karma; believe or don’t? I don't believe it's a thing. I wish it was. Ever changed a diaper? Once. Or maybe twice? No plans on ever doing that again. When you see anything smaller than a quarter on the ground, do you pick it up? I don't even pick quarters up, really. Can bald guys ever be attractive? Um, yes? Do you like hugs? Yessss. Would you ever donate blood? Yeah, I have before. I'd just have to get better about drinking water so I don't faint. Are you keeping a secret from someone who needs to know the truth? No. Ever had the opposite sex over when no one was home? You make that sound so scandalous, lmao. Yeah. What is the last song to make you cry? "Another Life" by Motionless In White. Have you ever kissed someone in the rain? Yeah. Have you kissed someone with braces? No. Are you anyone’s first love? I don't believe so. Anything happen to you within the past month that made you really happy? I'M LOSING WEIGHTTTTTT. :') The gym is paying off! Is there a person of the opposite gender on your mind? That's kinda a permanent thing. He's always there, even if only in the back. Who was the last person to wink at you? My cat, ha ha. Did you parents know what gender you were before you were born? Yes. Are any of your really close friends pregnant right now? REALLY close friends, nope. Are you for or against inter-racial relationships? ... You know it's 2021, right???? This never should have been controversial. Have you ever been addicted to something unhealthy? Well, there's caffeine... When the holidays come around, do you watch holiday movies? No. When was the last time someone insulted you? What was the insult? I don't recall. Do you say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” in order to avoid offending people who don’t celebrate Christmas? I honestly just say "merry Christmas." Have you ever made/played with a sock puppet before? Yes. Have you ever seen a waterfall (aside from in a fountain or other manmade things)? Only small ones. Are you a frequent sufferer of heartburn? Yes; I actually have a prescription for chronic heartburn. If I don't take it, I'll get heartburn to the point I come near tears. How many different colleges have you gone to? Three. How much stress can you handle? Ha, not a lot at all. What is one thing you thought you’d never do but have done or are doing? I'm 25 and feel like I've just... wasted so much, and I continue to. I never thought I'd make it to this age and to have gone so short a distance in terms of being a successful adult. Have you ever disowned a friend or family member for their beliefs? I've stopped being friends with people, yes. Do you ever feel like your life is too boring or predictable? It 120% is. Do you think you will die happy? To be honest... I think no a lot of the time. Do you like looking at pictures? Yeah. Are you a submissive person? Very. Do you believe the dead can have connections with the living? I do. What are your views on the death penalty? I support it in extreme cases. Once you prove to be a thorough monster that deeply endangers other humans... you don't deserve life. We as a society have to work together, not destroy one another. Do you like horror movies? Why or why not? Yeah! I like the thrill of them. Would you ever be able to become a vegan? No; I am FAR too picky with my food. I want to be vegan, but I just wouldn't survive. What was your favorite toy as a child? I had a whole story based around some plastic dinosaurs, alligators, deer, and Pokemon figurines. Who was your first best friend? What is your favorite memory of/with them? Are you two still friends? Brianna. I don't know what my favorite memory is... We made a lot. We're Facebook friends, but we don't talk anymore. Would you rather hang out with someone who is always high or someone who constantly wants to get drunk all the time? High, I guess. Drunk people I think get sloppier and, in some cases, angry. The (few) high people I've been around have just been chill and friendly. How did you meet your newest friend? I'm not entirely sure who I consider to be my newest friend. The last time you kissed someone, were your arms around their neck? I don't think so? I'm pretty sure I was just hugging her around the waist. You have to get a facial piercing, what do you get? I've mentioned how I wanna get my nose re-pierced in multiple surveys. Do you straighten your hair? No. When is the next time you will see the person you like? Who knows, dude. I really want to be able to walk for two minutes without feeling like I'm dying before I go to an airport again, and even more importantly, even as a fully-vaccinated person, I want Covid to chill out before I travel again. And who the fuck knows when that'll be since people don't want to listen to goddamn professionals. Did you get to sleep in today? I actually slept through my alarm and was late to gym today. :x Your first dog? I was born into the family with a collie named Trigger, but she passed when I was a baby, so I don't have any memories of her. We got what I want to say was a Rottweiler mix named Angel at one point, who I consider our first family dog, but she was born with that disease that some puppies have where they just... die. Who I consider MY first REAL dog was Teddy. <3 Stood loyally by my side as my furry son and most devoted friend for around 13 years. Do you prefer mint, citrus, or cinnamon toothpaste? Mint. Are you one of those people who are always cold? No, I'm always hot. Have you done anything sneaky lately? No. Have you ever had feelings for someone and thought “This is the person I want to be with forever”? Yeah, twice. Do you keep notes, drawings or letters that people give you? Of course! Have you had a significant other that you never kissed? Well, boyfriends, but I wouldn't count the ones I haven't kissed as truly "significant other"s. Has anybody ever dated you only for your looks? I don't think so. Do you have any handshakes with anybody? Nah. What are you listening to? "Necessary Evil" by Motionless In White & Jonathan Davis. Would you take back your last boyfriend/girlfriend? Yeah. Who is your favorite band? How long have they been? Ozzy Osbourne. Since middle school. Who is your favorite author? I don't have a fave. Do you like cheesecake? BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH- How did you meet the last person you kissed? YouTube, back when it had more social aspects. Do you wake up cranky? Not usually, no. I'm actually in my best mood in the morning. Have you ever met your favorite band/singer? No, but holy fuck would that be awesome. I want to thank him for his music so badly. Do you have a good relationship with your parent(s)? Yeah. Has the last person you kissed ever been to your house? My old house, yes, but not this one. Do chickens have feelings? Yes. Have you ever been to a spa? Yeah, even though I really wasn't interested. I just went with Colleen because she invited me. I appreciated her wanting to hang out and include me of course, so I was happy to go, but it's not something I'd do of my own volition. The last time you were in the fridge, what were you looking for? The lemonade. Favorite South Park character? I don't have one, given I'm not interested in the show. How often do you have to shave? When/where I shave grows back FAST, so frequently. Ever go ghost hunting? No but omg I'd love to. Someone date me just to go do this together one night lmao. Do you have any family in the military? No. Can you talk to your mother about most things? I know I CAN talk to her about absolutely everything, but I don't always. Would you ever homeschool your children? If they wanted it and it'd be beneficial to their health and educational success, then yes. Are you afraid of change? Oh boy, am I. Who’s your favourite character from one of your favourite books? I'll go with The Outsiders, in which case I remember it was Dally.

Bigg Boss has now been produced in India in 7 languages and today produces more than 600 episodes in a 365-day calendar year.
With huge stars such as Salman Khan, Kamala Hassan, Nagarjuna, Mohanlal, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sudeep as hosts, an interesting mix of contestants and an amazing creative and production team, the show continues to garner huge TRPs and driving in viewers every season.
Talking about the completion of 20 years of Big Brother globally, Abhishek Rege, CEO, Endemol Shine India said, “Big Brother is undoubtedly the most popular non-scripted show across the globe entertaining viewers from all strata of society. In India too, the show has been well received and has garnered a huge fan following.  The ongoing appreciation for the franchise across the globe and in India, no matter the language, is testament to the effort of the creative and production teams at Endemol Shine globally and our understanding of geographies and of local audiences.”
Engaging audiences with interactivity
Big Brother is more interactive and immersive than ever, whether it be viewer polls, making decisions for tasks or else the weekly evictions which are the bedrock of many global schedules. Big Brother stands out in the way it engages the audience to be part of the show, and earlier this year saw 202 million votes cast in Brazil in a single eviction.
Innovating with technology
Big Brother has always thrived on changes in the tech and TV landscape and fans have more access to the show’s content than ever before, whether it be watching episodes on YouTube in Spain where the series had a dual strategy to produce the programme for linear and online or streaming on a broadcaster’s SVOD or AVOD platform in markets like the US, Canada and Finland.
The show is innovating with tech within productions too. Big Brother Poland was the first version of the reality hit to be filmed in a real-life existing house. This has been followed by the recent relaunch in Finland, where the house was located in the heart of Helsinki in REDI shopping mall.  These new types of productions are only possible because of advanced technology and state of the art cameras which allow the show to be produced in innovative ways. It also furthers the creative freedom for the producers with fully connected houses enabling access to rooms to be limited or to give housemates certain privileges such as access to the fridge or even the coffee machine. Existing locations also have created a truly authentic environment for relationships to develop.
Sustainability
And the format is rolling our green initiatives too, in Germany the production team of VIP series saved an estimated 12,000 coffee cups after switching to reusable bamboo cups and all groceries for the House were sourced locally.
In Finland, the new house will be made with recycled materials and with water scarcity a significant issue in India, the production has installed waste water recycling, as well as placing water restrictions for housemates and one of the regional versions even features an empty swimming pool to make a point about the limits.
None of us know what the next twenty years will bring, but one thing for sure, the world is watching.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings : marlene mckinnon x gn!reader
words : 0.2k
warnings : pure pure pure fluff, foul language, established relationship and probably some typos.
note : okay first of all, i am so sorry this came out sooo late, i didn't have any motivation to write this because i didn't have any inspiration for this. and the story came out a bit too intense so sorry for that :,( anyways i hope u enjoy this & lmk if u want anything changed !!
Tumblr media
"ugh, this book is making me lose my sanity, seriously can't we do anything more fun?" marlene groans. "i say this book is alright actually." you chuckle as marlene pouts. "you, are, sooooooo, boring." she jokes, "says the person who is dating, said boring person." you furrowed your brows, giving her a smirk.
"mhm well lucky for you i like this, said, boring person." she smiles, pressing a kiss on your forehead.
"okay now, can we actually do something a bit more interesting? i rather spend another 5 hours in potions than read that book." marlene crosses her arms. "mm, no." you laughed, causing marlene to throw a pillow at you.
"you did not just do that." you gasped as she laughed. "i think i did." she shrugged as you grabbed the pillow she threw to you and you threw it back at her direction.
"pillow fight?" she questioned, "pillow fight." you nodded.
the rest of the night went into total chaos, at the end pillows are all over the floor, blankets are scattered around, feathers are filling up the room, and you and marlene are laughing your heads off.
"i told you, that was so much better than reading that book." marlene smiled as you nodded. "i guess you were right."

39 Small Businesses to Support Across Canada Right Now
There’s never been a more crucial time to support local small businesses than right now. As many governments across Canada have shuttered all non-essential businesses – which is all, if not most, fashion and beauty businesses – as a result of COVID-19, it’s imperative that we as a society step up to the plate to help give these companies as much hope as possible. Last week, our fashion editor Eliza Grossman shared her shopping cart picks from five Canadian small businesses and today, we’re sharing a list of 39 small businesses that you can support via shopping online or purchasing a gift card to use once the lockdown protocols are lifted.

Heather Locklear has completed her mandatory rehab treatment, PEOPLE confirms.
The Melrose Place actress, who plead no contest in August following two arrests and was ordered to spend 30 days in a residential mental health facility, was officially discharged from rehab on Sept. 20, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Locklear, 58, initially entered the facility on Aug. 20 but since completing the 30-day program, she has been involved with a structured out-patient care plan, the documents state.
Also included in the court papers was an Oct. 8 letter from Locklear’s treatment provider that her attorney William Haney had forwarded stating that the actress has been “committed to therapy” and “compliant and participatory, as well as actively engaged.”
The treatment provider vowed in the letter to give updates on Locklear’s progress every 9 to 120 days, or as directed by the court.
Haney did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
While her treatment provider praised the star’s commitment to rehab, a source close to the situation fears that she’s not being held accountable.
“She’s got such great legal representation… so the result is, she isn’t being held accountable,” the source tells PEOPLE.
“It back to the same square she was on before. Who knows but her daughter and her are getting along great.”
2018 was a particularly difficult year for the actress, who was taken into custody twice.
In late February 2018, Locklear was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery, resisting and obstructing a police officer or EMT and multiple counts of battery on a police officer and emergency personnel. Police later searched her home for a firearm that was allegedly registered in her name but did not find anything.
RELATED: Suicide Threats, Arrests and Rehab: Inside Heather Locklear’s Darkest Days
After being accused of hitting her boyfriend, Locklear was charged with domestic abuse — but those charges were dropped in March.
That April, Locklear’s attorneys, Haney and Blair Berk, appeared in court to plead not guilty on eight charges — six counts of misdemeanor battery on a police officer and two charges of resisting or obstructing a police officer — on behalf of the actress.
Months later, Locklear was arrested in June 2018 after she allegedly attacked the police officer and EMT who responded to a disturbance call at her residence. Police told PEOPLE that Locklear was “extremely intoxicated” and “arguing with friends and family” when they arrived.
Hours after she was released from police custody, Locklear was hospitalized for a possible overdose.
She was later charged with one count of battery on a police officer, one count of battery on an EMT, and one count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a police officer. She pleaded not guilty and was due back in court in Ventura County on June 14. In late July, Ventura County Star reported that her pretrial hearing had been postponed until Aug. 16 following a hearing.
RELATED: Heather Locklear ‘Has Been to Rehab More than 20 Times,’ Source Says
During the Aug. 16 hearing, Locklear pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor counts: five counts of battery on a peace officer, one count of battery on an emergency medical personnel, and two counts of resisting, obstructing, or delaying a peace officer.
In order to avoid 120 days of jail time, Locklear was ordered to enroll in a mandatory 30-day treatment at a residential mental health facility by Sept. 6.
This isn’t the first time that Locklear, who has struggled with mental health and addiction issues, has checked into treatment.
In mid-May, Locklear had returned to rehab and was living in an in-patient facility, a source confirmed to PEOPLE.
“She went back to rehab two weeks ago. She went back to the place she left before Christmas. She had left for three days right before Christmas and never gone back,” the source said. “Heather’s problem is she doesn’t get serious about anything,” said the source. “She was continuing to drink.”
According to the source, Locklear’s ongoing battle with substance abuse was taking a toll on her family — including 21-year-old daughter Ava, whom she shares with ex Richie Sambora.
“Her issue is alcohol, pills, and her mental health. She doesn’t want anybody to hold her accountable. She has no job, nothing to keep her accountable. This has been tearing up her family. It’s been an ongoing issue for many many years. It has been horrible for Ava,” the source said.
In recent months, however, Locklear has appeared to be on the mend. She was spotted out and about in Los Angeles in June, where she was all smiles and seemed to be in good spirits as she headed to meet a girlfriend for lunch.
The star also celebrated her sobriety in August by sharing a photo of a poster, which read, “You’re still sober keep that s— up.” She expressed her excitement over the accomplishment by captioning the post, “So grateful

MP Diane Abbott says she feels sorry for Jewish MP Luciana Berger
Diane Abbott today admitted she ‘feels sorry’ for Luciana Berger after she was forced to quit Labour while eight months pregnant – but insists the party has ‘tried to do its best’ to tackle anti-Semitism.
The Shadow Home Secretary, Britain’s first black woman MP but was called ‘coloured’ by Amber Rudd yesterday, said she has found the strength to cope with prejudice because ‘Jamaicans have a lot of self-belief, you know’.
Labour is facing a humiliating full-scale official inquiry into the anti-Semitism crisis and the resignation of Jewish MP Luciana Berger was described as ‘the worst day of shame in the Labour Party’s 120-year history’.
The Liverpool MP, who gave birth to her second child this week, was ‘bullied out of her own party by racist thugs’, Tom Watson said this week.
Today Ms Abbott said she had sympathy for Ms Berger – but defended Labour’s handing of the crisis.
She told The House Magazine: ‘The one I do feel sorry for is Luciana [Berger]. You’ve got all this stress and strain, extraordinary general meetings, votes of no-confidence, it’s the kind of stress no one should endure when they’re eight months pregnant’.
But when asked if the party had handled the anti-Semitism issue she added: ‘I think the party has tried to do its best’.
Diane Abbott today admitted she ‘feels sorry’ for Luciana Berger after she was forced quit Labour while eight months pregnant
The EHRC could compel Jeremy Corbyn’s party to overhaul the way it deals with anti-Semitism cases, which would be enforceable by the courts. Mr Corbyn has so far remained silent over the threat of an investigation
In one of the darkest days in Labour’s history yesterday, Britain’s equalities watchdog admitted the party may have ‘unlawfully discriminated’ against Jews.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) will now consider whether to launch a formal probe.
Labour would have to hand over email and other correspondence so investigators can see how the party dealt with discrimination claims.
The EHRC could then compel Jeremy Corbyn’s party to overhaul the way it deals with anti-Semitism cases, which would be enforceable by the courts.
Labour MP John Mann, who chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Anti-Semitism, predicted the EHRC’s move would eventually lead to resignations of senior party figures
It would only be the second time the watchdog has taken action against a political party. Nine years ago it forced the BNP to drop its ‘whites only’ membership rule.
Labour said it will co-operate fully with the EHRC, but said it rejects ‘completely’ any suggestion it has acted unlawfully. Last night moderate Labour MPs predicted high-level resignations.
The move comes two days after it emerged that Mr Corbyn’s aide Laura Murray sought to block the suspension of a member who described an anti-Semitic mural of a group of ‘hook-nosed’ men as ‘great’.
It was reported yesterday that another ally of the leader, Thomas Gardiner, had intervened repeatedly to downgrade suspensions for anti-Semitism.
The EHRC – which was founded by the Blair government – said it acted after receiving two dossiers showing examples where anti-Semitism was not dealt with properly by Labour. One was from the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, and the other was from the Jewish Labour Movement.
On a shameful day for Labour, Mr Corbyn remained silent over the threat of an investigation.
Jewish Labour MP Ruth Smeeth, who has been subjected to anti-Semitic abuse, called it a ‘devastating indictment’.
She added: ‘Decent members will be horrified that we have got into this position. I welcome the EHRC intervention but today is another dark day in the history of our party which could and should have been avoided if concerns raised had been heeded last year.’
Labour deputy leader Tom Watson said he was ‘deeply saddened’ at the EHRC move.
He said he would contact Labour general secretary Jennie Formby to ask for all relevant files and data to be retained ‘so that investigators can form a clear picture of the processes and culture around Labour’s response to anti-Semitism’.
Emily Thornberry, the shadow foreign secretary, said it was ‘utterly disgraceful and unacceptable’ that the party had taken so long to deal with anti-Semitism.
‘We need to remove this stain from our party, and we need to expel these despicable individuals, so we can go into the next election, united by our historic values, not poisoned by this vicious disease,’ she said.
The EHRC will now contact Labour to set out its concerns. If the response is found to be unsatisfactory, it could launch a formal investigation.
A spokesman for the watchdog said: ‘Having received a number of complaints regarding anti-Semitism in the Labour Party, we believe Labour may have unlawfully discriminated against people because of their ethnicity and religious beliefs.
The EHRC said it acted after receiving two dossiers showing examples where anti-Semitism was not dealt with properly by Labour. One was from the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism [File photo]
‘Our concerns are sufficient for us to consider using our statutory enforcement powers. As set out in our enforcement policy, we are now engaging with the Labour Party to give them an opportunity to respond.’
A Labour spokesman said: ‘We completely reject any suggestion the party has acted unlawfully and will be co-operating fully with the EHRC. Labour is fully committed to the support, defence and celebration of the Jewish community and its organisations.’
Labour MP John Mann, who chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Anti-Semitism, predicted the EHRC’s move would eventually lead to resignations of senior party figures.
‘Obviously there will be resignations from those in power as this fully unfolds,’ he said. ‘Everyone should let the EHRC do its job.’
Gideon Falter, of the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, said: ‘It is a sad indictment that the once great anti-racist Labour Party is now being investigated by the equality and human rights regulator it established. Since the Holocaust, Britain has led the world in promoting human rights, and it could scarcely be more important to British society that the Jew hatred festering in the Labour Party is firmly brought to an end.’
The Jewish Labour Movement said it asked the EHRC in November last year to investigate the allegation that the Labour Party was ‘institutionally anti-Semitic’.
Huda Elmi, a Momentum-affiliated member of Labour’s ruling National Executive Committee (NEC), responded to the EHRC’s decision by calling for the watchdog to be scrapped. A file picture of Momentum’s badges and leaflets is pictured above [File photo]
It said in a statement: ‘After years of anti-Jewish racism experienced by our members, and a long pattern of denial, obfuscation and inaction by those with the power and ability to do something about it, we felt there was little choice but to secure a fully independent inquiry, not encumbered by corrupted internal practices. Everything that has happened in the months since our referral supports our view that the Labour Party is now institutionally anti-Semitic.’
Marie van der Zyl, the president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, said: ‘This proposed independent investigation confirms what the Jewish community has known for a long time: that the Labour leadership has a problem with anti-Jewish racism which it is unable or unwilling to solve.’
But Huda Elmi, a Momentum-affiliated member of Labour’s ruling National Executive Committee (NEC), responded to the EHRC’s decision by calling for the watchdog to be scrapped.
She tweeted: ‘The Equality and Human Rights Commission is a failed experiment. If tomorrow it were to cease in existence, most of the people it was created to support wouldn’t even notice.
‘We need to abolish it and bring back separate, well-resourced governmental bodies for each equality strand.’

Tumblr media
it's a hot summer day in hawkins, indiana. you and your girlfriend are walking around the streets of hawkins, trying your best not to melt from the hot summer weather.
"you sure the ice cream is near by?" you asked as robin nodded. "i'm sure, i think? the last time i saw it was near this area soo." robin shrugged as you two continue the walk.
the walk continued, and continued, until you two finally stopped to take a break near a hill.
"actually, i think the shop closes at sundays." robin sighs as you gasped, "robin!" you took a seat at the bench. "i'm sorry! i thought the shop was near by, turns out it was not." robin shrugged as you nodded, "yeah, obviously."
"sorry i ruined today, i genuinely didn't mean to." robin sat down beside you. "you didn't ruin it, robs. it's okay, really." you smiled. "i feel bad though, we were suppose to be eating ice cream right now, but we are melting in the sun instead." robin replied.
you sighed a bit, thinking on what to do now. you were probably miles from your home, and walking back does not sound like the best option.
"actually, i heard there was a strawberry fields near by here." you say, "we could go to there if you want to." you offered. "yeah, yeah that be really nice!" robin smiled. "it's down the hill i'm pretty sure." you got up from the bench, grabbing robin's hand as you two went down the hill.
slowly going down you spotted the entrance of the fields. you walk towards it first as robin follows behind, "uh, i'll pay the tickets. you can take it as an apology, for literally getting us lost." robin stated. "it's fine, robs." you shook your head. "i insist, honestly it's the least i could do." robin gives you a smile as you sigh, nodding.
the two of you get the tickets and happily enter the fields, holding the basket in your arms as you walk around the fields, picking out the most perfect strawberries to bring home.
"i can think of so many things we can make out of these, strawberry ice cream, strawberry milkshakes, strawberry smoothies.. hell! we can even make cake! though i don't think i have the skills for that, i mean the last time we tried, we had a flour fight so..." robin rambles as you listened.
"we can try! i mean second tries a charm, right? at the end we did make the cake." you laughed. "we can try to make smoothies maybe? or a slushy of some-type." you suggest as she nodded.
you went on for an hour before paying for all the berries you two picked. robin decided its best to take the bus home, so thats what the two of you did. you rested your head on her shoulder on the way home to your small, cozy apartment as she rambles about how excited she is to make the smoothies.
strawberry picking with your girlfriend, oh how your so lucky.

If You’re Ready to Graduate Leopard Prints, It’s Time to Give Snakeskin a Shot
New Post has been published on https://www.claritymakeupartistry.com/if-youre-ready-to-graduate-leopard-prints-its-time-to-give-snakeskin-a-shot/
If You’re Ready to Graduate Leopard Prints, It’s Time to Give Snakeskin a Shot
Animal prints have undoubtedly been one of fall’s most pervasive trends. From boots and bags to statement outerwear and printed denim, it seems like half of fall’s sartorial offerings are covered in exotic animal patterns and prints.
Historically, cheetah and leopard prints have reigned supreme in fashion’s animal kingdom. And zebra and tiger stripes have long served as regal runners-up. But snakeskin has officially slithered onto the scene, appearing in a number of Fall/Winter 2018 fashion week runways (and a couple of Rihanna’s OOTDs, as well).
We’re certainly not to trying to file away the feline fashion trend. (It’s a classic, and the myriad animal print pieces in our wardrobes hope it stays that way.) But if you’ve grown bored with the prints that are always on offer, you might be ready to shake things up—and reptilian prints offer an edgy, sleek and exciting way to do just that.
The best part about python prints (and other snake-inspired patterns)? They offer the best of both worlds. They often come in subdued palettes, making them a near-neutral. But their dynamic textures and bold prints make them as eye-catching as any other animal print.
In other words? They’re a more nuanced (and possibly even more wearable) way to do animal prints, making them this season’s most daring—and simultaneously most versatile—trend.
We’re just starting to see the snakeskin trend bloom, so now’s a perfect time to get in on the reptilian magic.
