welcome to the very first installement of Winnow Weekly!!

today we meet the (once) noble Den Daev’yana, (Seed of Rebirth version), and Winnow's blood family. EXCEPT! since nine months the Den is considered missing, excepting two people - Zyn, whom Winnow likes the least in the family (he's the most pathetic meow meow but in a deragatory way), and Winnow, who had been in Dwendalian Empire in the time of the Disappearing. AND!! in the first session, upon Winnow returning to Xhorhas, we attend a ball and hear the announcement from the Bright Queen that Den Daev'yana is now officially dissolved since no progress has been made in finding them :') winnow did Not take the news well & now is even more determined to find them. exceeept he is wanted in Rosohna, where the family was last seen, for the murder his mother framed on him. (the family is messy to say the least).

Eala Daev’yana, she/they, drow (blue), 279 (Misuthar 11th 557 PD)

sweet mother go puhpuhpuh. OG Daev’yana. her favourite snack is toffee and their favourite artform is sculpture. has a very businesswomany clothing style and long hair (with a marriage bead) she keeps mostly free or does a sleek tight braid for Business ™ times. had a very strong tea-fortune-telling phase where she bothered everyone with not throwing away their teas. murderer (accidental? we simply dont know)

Luathi Daev’yana. she/her, drow (lilac), 301 (Cuersaar 20th, 535 PD)

mean toxic mom go brr. winnow always tried to impress her more than Eala & rogued mostly for her. only drinks black iced coffee. very goal-driven. loves to read in her armchair. if she had discord or a mobile phone it would always be on do not disturb. 

Zyn Daev’yana, he/him, drow (lilac), younger sibling early 220s

Sareil Daev’yana, he/him, drow, 98 (738 PD), oldest sibling / adopted into Den

Luathi’s younger brother. He must spend a good fortune on hair bleach and an hour a fortnight to buzz it short again (blasphemy in the family who cares about hair traditions above any others, if you ask Winnow). writes embarassing poetry (in canon it's just taylor swift lyrics). Regularly shows up for family board game nights, and yet almost never wins (because he’s a loser, one could argue).

Sareil is a classic gay romantic whose first love is academia, and probably always will be. He likes to read poetry while looking out of the window in his favourite spot in the tower - especially on rainy days-, and drinking mugs of tea gone cold and magically reheated over three to five open books while hectically noting down questions to his own theories. Winnow and he have a softly quiet friendship, the kind where you talk to each other more through book annotations than with face-to-face words and make the other cup of tea when you make yourself one. Winnow's nickname for him is 2D PhD (cause his previous last name also started w D and he’s a nerd) or Reirei. 

Orlas Daev’yana, she/they, drow, 77 (Thunsheer 1st, 759 PD), older sibling  

FAVOURITE NPC!!! As far as being the firsborn and the oldest child of a noble Den (for a while, at least) goes, Orlas dealt with the expectations placed upon her quite graciously. They were an A student in all aspects and institutions, an excellent notetaker and moderator of meetings between Den Thelyss and Den Daev’yana, and even brought Winnow back home (more on that another time). Coincidentally, they are also the one who told him the truth, and losing a couple of points in their mothers’ eyes along with a promise braid.  Not that it mattered - only those who knew her before Winnow entering their life could see that she had changed since he moved in. Something about them was opening slowly, like a kitten’s eye for the first time, something like happiness and relief.

If Winnow would ever write his own book, he most certainly would start with a small collection of short stories, dedicating each one to Orlas. He calls her l'Orla and cydan (undercommon affectionate term for big sister), or page Orlas in mock fancy tone And an accent, turning it more into Pajeeeh Orleeeh when he teases them. Gender-wise is a sister but not a daughter. 

Garle’as Daev’yana, they/them, drow, 51 (785PD), older sibling

Somehow, from the very first day, Winnow never really liked Garle’as, and neither did they like him back. For the entirety of Winnow’s life in the Den, the relationship between the two was tensely taut, fuelled by mutual jealousy of each other - the new attention Winnow was getting versus the comfortable history Garle’as shared with everyone, the disinclination to share inside jokes, the coldness of shoulders turned to each other in sharp contrast of the warmth offered by the others. With finally more than enough people in his life to love, Winnow was not worried about their mutual annoyance with each other - if anything it’s kind of fun to have a relaxed nemesis, and no efforts were made from either to warm their relationship (except of course, staying civil during dinners and family trips. That mostly involved the mothers strategically placing the children out of each other’s sight and hoping for the best after they learned that chastising Garle’as publicly wasn’t doing any wonders, and it worked surprisingly well). At no point did Winnow think about giving them a nickname, not even a shitty one. 

Ta’nuil Daev’yana, he/they, drow, 17 (819 PD),  younger sibling

Ta’nuil - like most members of the family - has ADHD, except it’s multiplied by being a kid. In the Den, he is famous for changing hobbies every two to six business weeks (well, at least at the ripe age of being 7). Whenever Winnow’s ADHD alligned with Ta’n’s, he accompanied him in adventures of learning new crafts: through vicariously changing hobbies, Winnow has learned about himself that he likes to work with paper - like  scrapbooking, paper sculting, and origami. Winnow’s nickname for them is spindle (cause he likes to spin) and Nui.

Elossu Daev’yana, she/her, drow, 8 (828 PD), youngest sibling

Winnow left when she was only 2, and before her appearance in his life thought himself to hate all babies - until she was the first exception. As a baby she was quite fussy and looking for undivided attention. Winnow liked to read to her. Winnow’s nickname for her is peacheeks (for her soft pinkish cheeks).

    Everything felt wrong that year, seeing her on her own like that. The pink jacket that once covered her arms now abandoned, no one had seen it since before the, bowers incident. The old leather replaced by a green sweater that made those who took pity on the girl frown in her presence. Those who didn’t take pity on her however, let the rumors spread like wild fire. Some said she asked Henry to kill the others, a last result out of the friend group. Others thought it had been a trap for her that she barely escaped. There was even some of rumors that she planned to run off with Victor Criss and Henry killed him to stop it. And there was nothing she could do to stop them, because how do you tell the whole town that an evil clown possessed your first grade best friend to kill the other two? That would get her locked away with him for sure.

    It was even more confusing when they saw who she was around now. The losers club tided to her hip and in ways, the group seemed to fit her more. The gentleness that once seemed to out of place beside Henry and Patrick made perfect since between Mike Hanlon and Stanley Uris. She still would carry snacks and band-aids in her bag but they changed, picking up new things and being careful of allergies she never had to worry about before. Now a spare inhaler would fall from her bag from time to time, obviously not hers and people just, knew. And then there was little things that made new rumors fly, just like back when she was with bowers. People seemed to believe she moved on to younger guys. It was in the way she would ruffle Eddie’s hair, the gentleness of her helping Mike by picking him up to carry his deliveries. That blue trans am she bought off Ms. Higgins being his god sent when he needed to run deliveries in the rain. It was in the way that Bill looked to her to relax when his stutter seemed to worsen and the way that she seemed to be the only one that could make Richie quiet. The times you’d find her in the library with Ben or the park with Stan. She was always there with one of them, many wondered if it was guilt, making up for what Henry did. But those rumors that she would be with one of them never truly faded no matter what group the girl found. 

     Everyone in town remembers the day she graduated, six boys all pretending they weren’t going to cry in the crowd next to her parents. And the day she left, no one out side of the losers club ever saw her cry that hard, and they hadn’t seen it since ‘89. Then it was University of Maine and moving to Atlanta. And for the first time, in her middle school classroom, Hailey felt at peace. Becoming friends with the aunt of one of star students who introduced her to accountant husband (who was truly a big help during tax season). And something about the two of them felt so safe and nostalgic, the friendship just seeming to click. But then there was the phone call, and Hailey Black realized she may never truly have the peace she craves. And she could never have a happy ending with childhood friends.

To look a devil in the eyes was to admit that Hell was real.

Stuck, twisted in the lies and woes and faltering smiles — slipping memories that painted a past colored in disagreement and disdain, of disappointment and disapproval that rose its head like a cobra prepared to strike. Slick with venom, its fangs would meet his flesh, injecting the very poisons he had worked his entire adult life to craft the anti-venom for, the antidote that still slipped through his fingers and out of reach.

Hate was a bitter bitch with a crooked smile and lazy eye that only kept watch on his wrongdoings, seemingly unable to turn Her gaze towards the successes that now outweighed the unsightly scar in his side. The wound was true, a physical reminder that he had given a part of himself to someone else, only to have it fail him — to reject its sole purpose in this world.

Death was a cruel mistress, cloaked in black and hiding around each corner, just a fingertip’s brush away the closer he drew. She was quick, spry even despite having been around since the beginning of time. She took what She wanted, and wanted what She took. They said She was at least careful with those She claimed, keeping them close and warm... but with the blood no longer in their veins, from where did their warmth generate?

It was these two sister — bound and bonded in mutual understanding — that he found his way forward. Family — some forgotten, some frozen six feet under — was all he had to thank for where he now found himself, a wavering smile as he’d bowed to the producers in the studio earlier that day. Without the familial burning of disrespect and writhing disdain, he would have never been pushed to leave home, to hack into medical records, to travel to Seoul in search of a life better than the one he had attempted to (quite literally) carve out for himself.

Knuckles white with lack of blood flow as he clutches a pair of scissors, dark, endless eyes staring back at him in the bathroom mirror. It was too early, too late to think of these things, to surrender himself to the fact that he was a ship on a river, forever destined to drift alone...

And so alone he would drift — snip forever patching the holes in his hull — snip keeping his heart and soul safe — snip from restless waters and sempiternal darks — snip Alone. Together.

Bleach out the bad, strike out the gray matters.

Be bold, be reborn, be blessed, be possessed.

Remember to dance, remember to thank, remember to bow once — now once more; lower this time.

Remember: You’re thankful.

Thankful to be here, to be aware, to hold the scissors in your hands, to reclaim your own body, your own mind, your own soul.

Remember who sent you here: A father who never truly loved, a mother who never understood how, a sister who turned her back on you, a brother who left before he wished.

Remember... this isn’t permanent.

This state of mind, the bleach in your hair, the dye on your hands.

It’ll sting, but soon you’ll be just fine.

HAHAH YOU THOUGHT I FORGOT BUT I DID REMEMBER I’M JUST LAZY

It’s just that if a chapter wasn’t very good, like very very good I can’t review it immediately! 

But my reviews are best reviews, so there is a point in waiting for them ;)

I find it really funny. I’ve read it and thought ‘Bleach is really stupid when you read something out of the context’

So, that’s what liked t in his chapter very much (still it wasn’t very very good enough stop pretending miel you are just lazy). I like chapters in which the characters and the author think. And this idea of changing Komamura’s powers was a really good one. He took away his heart – ‘life’ and (visibly) became a human, so his zanpakutou changed too – and now it doesn’t have the armor – its ‘life’. There is so much sense in it. I like it very much.  Also, can I interprete it as ‘fighting is easier without a heart’ ? It’s so emo, yet badass.  I mean, he became more powerful when he left his life, which can mean all the emotions, sorrows, goals and other things that keep us living.

 Also, the fact that  now she cannot blow him up – I like the way he went out of this hard situation B)

That’s also the part I like – desperated Bambietta talking about her own opinion about fighting. She’s touched not even with the fact that she’ll lose, more that her lost won’t even be meaningful for the winner. If she has to lose, she wants her lost to be at least meaningful.

In my opinion, the chapter was good.The fight kept going on - it'll probably end in the next chapter. Or it's also possible that it's going to be a cliff-hanger - if so, I don't think it's going to be such a long lasting cliff-hanger like 'the name of Kenpachi's shikai' thing, because it isn't very important for plot.

The personage of Komamura's been developing lately - that's amazing, because he's started as 'The friend of the blind bad one'. ;) On the other hand - we're reading the last scenes of developed Komamura. He's got quite a scratched character now. I'm not saying that he will die, only that he's not going to have any cool important flashbacks or plot twists. His five minutes will end in the next chapter. Or next next chapter. There isn't much time left for our dogie captain :(

Does Komamura's bankai has mustache?

 So he is immortal , while technically he is dead? Whoa . Cool.

Firstly: Bambietta reaction is so normal. What for you fight when you don't want to live? That's so logic , isn't it? But this is Bleach. Here no one care about live.

Secondly: Isn't that adorable , how loyal is Komamura? First was Tosen, his only friend. When Kaname turn evil Komamura do what he could to make him good again. And now is Yamamoto- the one who help him went out of the shadow. That's so freaking cute.

  I'm scared that I'm starting ship Komamura x Bambietta. I don't even now why, just...
