“And Bob couldn’t write a pop banger” absolutely tell em!!! but no for real I really agree with you that it’s basically pointless to compare songwriters especially when they’re from such different generations and different genres cause Taylor may have started in country but she’s always written closer to pop in it than most. and on top of that the genres they write in are so different purely because of time as well. Folk and country from Bob Dylan’s peak years also have underwent a lot of changes because of new trends, new techniques etc etc
Let me preface all of this by saying that my opinions on Bob Dylan's songwriting are highly subjective. People more familiar with music theory and poetry have said wiser things about his work than me and they might disagree with my opinions so... All I can say is that listening to his music makes me want to tear my teeth out. And I don't disagree with the original tweet AT ALL, seeing how often people get compared to Bob Dylan, but I have just grown a bit tired of the comparison because a lot of times, it's just made because Bob Dylan is Bob Dylan and He Is The Best.
I understand where the comparison comes from a 100%, both Dylan and Taylor are great at capturing life and pulling you into the world of the song. But times have changed and they both just have different goals with their songs. A lot of Taylor's work is centered around herself and figuring out her emotions about her own life, whereas Bob – though he had songs like that, too – often aimed higher and wrote songs trying to make sense of the overall state of the world. As fictionalized as evermore and folklore may be, it still feels like the root of the stories lies within Taylor. This is not to say that there is no part of Bob Dylan in his storytelling songs, but I don't listen to The Ballad Of Hollis Brown and wonder how much of this is based in Dylan's personal life.
I can listen to Cowboy Like Me and say that it feels very Blood On The Tracks and y'all have seen my parallel posts, so yea, Bob and Taylor sometimes have a similar edge, but at the end of the day, like you said, Taylor has always been very connected to pop and her pop writing is good, even though it isn't Bob Dylan-style writing. And maybe she could actually write her own Desolation Row, it's just that not a lot of people want to listen to 11 minute long songs anymore. But even if she does write it, she's not going to write it at 25. There is a sense of magic and whimsy and fiction and poetry to Dylan that Taylor seems to lean into more now, but she just didn't for a lot of her career because it wasn't her goal. And that's fine.
I could also go on a tangent about how different their public personas are/were and how that ties into their music and writing (Bob Dylan did Not Want To Be Perceived As A Real Person for a good part of his career. He's a jester.), but that is beside the point. Bob Dylan is Bob Dylan and Taylor Swift is Taylor Swift and they share strengths but they also differ quite a lot and at the end of the day, being "the new Bob Dylan" doesn't mean that much as a compliment when it's not based in something.

Do you, normally, make tart tatin in a pan or in like a pie/cake cast... kinda wanna make one myself. also rip ur tart tatin but maybe u can save it, it'll still taste amazing tho
i usually make it in a cast iron pan for ease!! my parents dont have one though so i just used a regular glass baking dish this time around. it’s still totally do-able, it’s just a bit more of a pain since u need to make the caramel & prep the apples in a separate pan before baking ^^

Im autistic and I like haven’t really had that before with Taylor songs but i have had it with Arianas songs!!! The production on a lot of songs on TUN is so ARGH to me, it sounds like it’s made in a fishbowl and is echoing and some stuff sounds like car alarms to me, tried to listen to TUN but I get such a sensory overload to me I’m like 😐
omg i definitely get a lot of sensory overload from some of ariana’s songs, like a lot of them just feel like Noise to me and it’s like...... uncomfortable to process 💔💔💔

I get what u said about the rerecordings cause essentially we are just getting the same songs with the same production, her voice maybe will sound a bit more mature but the whole point of the rerecordings is that it sounds exactly like the originals in every way so that the originals don’t matter anymore
I like her original vocals because like her young sounding voice is just fitting for her coming of age type songs and they're just what I'm used to i don't want to let them go 🥺 but also the general public aren't gonna care much about her owning them so it's definitely a good idea to throw in a few bonuses to motivate people to not just carry on listening to the originals

Someone on twitter had a theory that BMR is putting out so many song remixes and different versions of the album (big machine radio release special) so that if you’d put Taylor’s Spotify page on shuffle you’d have WAY more chances on getting on pre-lover stuff thus making them more money
this IS the bad place

And also lowkey 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 I haven’t ever like really listened to Bob Dylan and was wondering if you have like an album or a song as starting point that I could get into rn
Okay, I thought about this for a bit and compiled a list of songs I think give a decent impression of his earlier body of work (early 60s to early 70s, that is what I am most familiar with). He was very versatile, so it is a bit of a mix. I added some descriptions so you can see which songs you are most interested in :) Sorry this is so long, it was very tough to pick good introduction songs.
Tangled Up In Blue (One of the best songs of all time, probably. A good starting point because it is incredibly well-written without being too convoluted and it has a good tempo. His voice also sounds surprinsingly pleasant here. It is quite similar to All Too Well in structure.)
Masters Of War (Picking this one over the more well-known and equally amazing Blowing In The Wind simply because I like how angry it is. Dylan is often remembered for his protest songs - even though he didn’t like that -, and this one is an incredible example of that. It’s from his folk days, so it’s just his voice and an acoustic guitar.)
Mr. Tambourine Man (Prooobably my personal favorite Dylan song. The lyrics are pure poetry and it is just him and his guitar again, with a bit of the harmonica.)
Like A Rolling Stone (This was in his folk-rock days, so the instrumentation is a lot more wild and all over the place and he is... wailing more than he is singing, BUT it was voted the best song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and they have a point because it is an incredible song. Quintessential Dylan.)
She Belongs To Me (A little fun love tune. Very groovy.)
Desolation Row (Ok this is not one you should listen to to get into him because it is literally 11 minutes long. It is a masterpiece though and I have to include it because it is his magnum opus, so if you ever have 11 minutes to spare and want to be sad... There ya go.)
Girl From The North Country (Baby Bob is heartbroken and wrote a little tune on his guitar. It is so sad. If you like Last Kiss, you’ll like this one.)
Lay, Lady, Lay (A beautiful, soothing love song.)
Ballad Of A Thin Man (A very dark and lowkey seductive song about the character “Mr. Jones”, an arrogant man who doesn’t try to understand the world around him. Based on Dylan’s relationship with the press, it is sort of his reputation, if you will.)
The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll (Based on a real murder case. It is very sad, but an incredible example of him just telling a story in his songs.)
The Times They Are A-Changing (The first song I personally loved, so it’s gotta be on here. It’s epic.)
Tombstone Blues (He tends to just go bonkers with his songs. This one for example. It’s wild in both instrumentation and lyrics.)
A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall (Another rather long one but WOW what a way to spend 7 minutes. Simple instrumentation, just his guitar, but the lyrics are truly breathtaking. Every single line could be a book. Pattie Smith performed this song when Dylan was awarded the nobel price and it was a good pick. It is incredible, truly.)
Here’s a spotify playlist with the songs I mentioned.

So are we really talking about this topic? Good.
Regarding the Paris concert, you need to know that an Italian radio was invited to the event but didn’t run a contest and chose to invite web celebrities instead that maybe don’t even like Taylor. So Italian fans didn’t have the slightest chance to attend that concert. This is disgusting and I have no words.
I’m sick and tired of how much international fans are penalized when it comes to basically everything and sick and tired of how much American fans are privileged in... basically everything. Y’all really don’t understand how many struggles international fans always have to face to see Taylor live or to even buy something from her online store. American fans really don’t see how lucky they are, they have hundreds of chances to meet Taylor, they get lots of concerts and live performances and exclusive events and they don’t have to pay excessive shipping costs for the merchandise. I had to fly to London to see the rep tour in London and I was lucky because I could afford it. But there are thousands of European fans that can’t afford the costs and it really isn’t fair that we have to give up and sacrifice the experience just because Taylor’s management chose to do shows only in UK and Ireland. This is crazy. EUROPE IS NOT ONLY UK AND IRELAND JUST LIKE THE WORLD HAS SO MANY OTHER MAGNIFICENT COUNTRIES AND WE ALL LOVE TAYLOR EQUALLY. I truly don’t understand why Taylor and TN keep ignoring these issues. WE EXIST TOO.
This whole situation is honestly sickening and unfair. I really hope Taylor will acknowledge this and do something about it. International fans deserve the same opportunities as American fans.

Wait you don’t agree with Lana? I wanna hear your thoughts if you care to share them
my biggest issue is/was her dating a cop (I went to fact check myself on her dating him and they might have split but either way, I’m very strongly anti cop so it didn’t sit well with me) so I generally don’t care for her and her post just came across very... hmm. I think music is subjective, not everyone will feel the way about certain artists and how they cover certain topics so I’m definitely not undercutting anyone who agrees with Lana— but from my perspective, she always has very much romanticized unhealthy relationships and certain aspects of an unhealthy lifestyle and that’s not a feminist issue, that’s just... people saying they don’t vibe w/ some of her stuff. I also feel like.. I don’t really vibe w/ the way she began that post by lowkey throwing shade at other female artists. It felt very... “if these below-me BIMBOS can sing about SEX and being WHORES why can’t i sing about-” like no one is stopping you!!! u are a white woman ur fine, Elizabeth.
