3. Favorite three Steddie fanfics?

i'm going to do THREE OF my favorites because i cannot pick three ultimates

I was open to pain and crossed by the rain by my beloved blorbissimo @sparklyslug aka the ULTIMATE wayne pov bar none, incredible dialect work and character work, an examination of class and family and trauma and the cost of not saying a word vs. the impact of presence, her mind is such a marvel and i got the very first look at this truly amazing fic

Like The Hero Who Never Ran by callmejude - this whole series is brilliant, but the slow burn and build of their relationship, built on the simple premise of -- what if eddie had survived and they found him a few days later? their dynamic here feels earned, and it's a slow burn, but god, it's worth it. also, this is THEEEEE take on virgin!eddie.

come alive in the neon light by @laundrybiscuits which is such a pitch perfect steve voice that i could simply eat my hands about it. the summary amounts to "steve makes several assumptions" which, of course, it's about SO MUCH MORE than that, but that is the essence of the fic -- steve is the heart, and eddie is much more the head. what a delight.

8. Favorite Steddie Headcanon you’ve read or written?

so many of these i've crafted with @sparklyslug so it's really all stuff we've come up with together -- i love that we've made him a little bit of a crystal bitch, i love that he's kind of a queen in his older age, i love that he's a mechanic, i love that he plays music with his husband's ex-wife's husband, i love that we've made him an ice cream sundae maker extraordinaire. squishy softy who's a little feral. that's our guy!
