FusionFall Headcanons: Chowder

Due to Mung Daal’s Catering signing on as one of the Fusion Fighter’s food suppliers, Chowder was able to travel away from Marzipan City and take part in the war effort personally.  On the surface, this was so he could continue to train as a chef abroad; however, this purple bunny-cat kid is far more interested in trying the Cul-de-Sac’s local cuisine for himself than cooking it.  

In the Cul-de-Sac and to no surprise, Chowder works kitchen duty.  Since there are many recipes he still struggles with, even beyond the new ones he has to learn, he does so under the guidance of other army cooks.  Not all of them necessarily have a ton of experience either given the nature in which the Fusion Fighters were formed, but he takes what they have to say to heart and follows orders to the best of his ability.  Shnitzel is still tasked with watching him in general, so this time period is the only chance he gets during the day to really catch a break and focus on his own tasks.

When off-duty, Chowder likes to explore various restaurants to try different foods he can’t normally get in Marzipan.  This includes major chains, and he even has a list of various places he’d like to visit if he got the chance, such as the Prickly Pines’ Waffleteria and Beef Lumberjack’s.  He’s not above using others to bring him food as well, be it asking directly or trying to sneak it in as in the events of “Cloffee Caper.”

Chowder is just as friendly and well-meaning as ever, even to villains or total strangers.  He keeps track of the various fusion fighters and their activities more often than people realize, such as during the Knishmas missions, in which he cooked several meals as gifts for multiple people.  It didn’t matter whether or not they knew him or even what Knishmas was--and it didn’t seem as though he was fully aware of their feelings about receiving said gifts: He still called them his friends and wanted to spread some holiday cheer.  This included Aku and Demongo, who apparently trade Knishmas Cards with him...

It is likely that Mung Daal already catered for Aku and those in his circle during the tyrant’s reign and before Chowder signed-on as an apprentice, unable to say ‘no’ under the threat of death and the pay being too good to pass up.  Mung Daal has always been rightfully terrified of the demonic entity and what might happen if he ever messed up an order.  Chowder, on the other hand, doesn’t have as much of a problem and would rather stay on good terms.  He’s a little scared too, particularly of Demongo as noted by the tag on his present ending in, “Please don’t eat me.  Backing away slowly...” However, it doesn’t stop him from being kind, especially since he and Aku have been good regulars.  Demongo in turn recognizes this, and shows a rare, pleasant attitude toward Chowder in return against his usually arrogant and hostile nature.  This could be due to both Chowder’s compassion/humility around him and simply enjoying delicious food.

Much to his chagrin, Panini has also begun using the war to explore the wider world as an army cook.  Luckily for Chowder, the two are stationed far apart from each other; however, were that to ever change, he would insist on relocating whether his superiors allow it or not.   

His nanos share his appetite and knack for cooking, albeit they mainly handle simple recipes such as Blormed Milk for their teams.

I love your screenshots! You use the classic camera mod right? I wondered how cuz it hasnt been updated in awhile since the creator passed :( I really miss the mod, did you figure out how to update it?

hello my sweet friend i am so obsessed with your scrambled eggs gshade preset it literally saved my life but i updated my gshade app (big mistake huge) and it's no longer working for me :( i will pay real cash money if you update it bc i simply cannot go on without it

maybe update the presets through gshade? i did that and it worked after i loaded into my game but if not pm if it doesn't work! 🌼
