having thought about it, my ofmd season 2 like Main Plot prediction is that the first third-ish of the season is going to be stede looking for the revenge and ed going completely off the rails, the second third-ish of the season is going to be stede having found the revenge after ed's been swept out to sea / possibly mutinied? and them all going to look for him (hence stede and izzy having to team up), and the third third-ish of the season is going to be the two plots interacting, probably that battle on the beach we saw in the promo, and some sort of reunion that's interrupted / cliffhangered by the fact that the english (and maybe also the spanish who can say) are clearly still after them all. in terms of the character arcs and the subplots well who can say

I’m sorry but I can’t get over the Kimiko scene in the finale. Because you spend all season hitting us with “you’re teaming up with a murderer” and “you don’t get to decide who to serve up on a platter” and “no one should have that kind of power”. And then you make a point of the characters wanting to evacuate the Vought tower, and have Hughie say “we save everyone. Even if they don’t deserve it”. And then you have Kimiko killing people at the Vought tower for fun and it’s framed as empowering and not as concerning???

Who do you think is gonna get it on dueing herogasm bc it's weird I saw an interview with the cast and Anthony wasn't there meaning Homelander wasn't neither were a lot of people. The only one we know for sure was there is soldier boy so is this like a flashback to a previous herogasm that's not possible? Soldier boy would not be there in an official capacity bc no one knows he's alive except the boys and even if they did it's the next episode there's no way he's with vought so what is he doing there? Like I genuinely have no clue how this whole thing is going to shake out.

You know what - a flashback is something I never considered to be how they introduced the concept of a Herogasm, but I wouldn't put it past them if that's what they chose to do.

They did say that, through Soldier Boy, we learn a lot about Vought and how it operated in the past. So maybe Herogasms were things that were done back when Soldier Boy was head honcho and before Stan Edgar took charge.

I think if a cast list leaks and, like, Laurie Holden or the guy who played young Stan Edgar was there, or even any of the Payback team or Stan Legend are set to appear in the episode, I think that is the clearest indicator we're getting another flashback scene. My only other thing I can think of that makes me think it might not be a flashback is I have a faint memory of reading something about the Deep doing something wild - like sexually wild - and not that it has to be tied to Herogasm having it happen in that episode makes the most sense, especially since the last two episodes will probably be devoted to wrapping up the main plot points of the season.

Because like maybe either Herogasms were what Soldier Boy or Vought called the wild parties they threw for their star product, Payback, or was a club like the one we were introduced to in the first season, in the first episode, that was just named Herogasm?

Either way, doing it as a flashback would also make the most sense story wise since Vought doesn't seem to be in a place to have all their heroes go off galivanting, even with Homelander in command. We already knew they weren't going to do it like the comics because this show is way more grounded and attuned to reality and there are no big alien threats or multiversal crises that need handling. It seems like the heroes have an easier life and don't have to 'run away' and 'create false dangers' to get a vacation (not to mention the level of casting and costuming alone despite not having introduced any other superhero teams...). Plus, since a year has definitely passed in the universe (I'm pretty sure), we would have already had a Herogasm storyline since it's an annual event.

If we do have a flashback Herogasm, I have an idea that came to mind that would be the most interesting. Plus it would definitely change the dynamics of certain characters... even though it seems out of character in one regard, I could also see it working in some other way.

Basically, since we know they're not doing Homelander and Soldier Boy... what if the ones who have a major moment during Herogasm are Stan Edgar and Soldier Boy?

Stay with me on this. Yes, it would seem out of character for Stan to mix business with pleasure. However, I can also see him having used pleasure to distract Soldier Boy from something business related that he was secretly doing. Like Stan seduces Soldier Boy to get some dirt or info that he then uses to become head of the superhero division ("You used me." "I don't remember you complaining at the time."). Or maybe Soldier Boy comes on to Stan at Herogasm, which is when he and Soldier Boy meet for the first time, and Stan reads him to shit because of how unprofessional he's being and what a huge overhead cost the Herogasm parties are that it makes Vought run at a loss. The interaction ends with Soldier Boy brushing off his suggestions at cutting back and making a threat that he is Vought and can end his career with a single word. Which, again, is why I think Stan masterminded the Russians capturing him.

Eithe way, if Stan and Soldier Boy came to a head at Herogasm that gives us two ways of flashbacking to Herogasm - through Stan and through Soldier Boy.

Granted, with the introduction of the Legend, I can also see him giving some backstory if MM goes back to him for more dirt on Soldier Boy.

Because what if, since MM would know all of Hughie and Butcher's safe houses, Soldier Boy takes them somewhere he knows which is the defunct property of where Herogasms used to take place - that was probably sold by Vought after Soldier Boy disappeared.

Either way - yeah, there's not a lot of sense as to how Herogasm would work other than if it's a) a flashback scene or b) a regular club that supes frequent, that we haven't seen since the early days of the series.

Or it's called Herogasm because all the characters have sex at some point. That was another idea that floated around in my head. There is no place called Herogasm - Herogasm is a state of being. You're always in Herogasm lol.
