Tomtord was like a popularized ship back then (note: These were the times when the recently released episode was The End Part 2). And it flooded almost all from Amino to Instagram to Wattpad. 14-year-old me was like, hm, this ship makes sense af and so history. Also, it wasn't because it was enemies to lovers but because of colors (the opposite color or opposites attract trope), and it was also about their dynamic in general.

So what sparked my love for this ship?

Answer is, Wattpad. I was a sucker for family trope back then, and there were many of those in Wattpad featuring Tomtord as the main couple and sometimes the latter would be EddMatt and PauPat. One of the examples of this fics is from BlueCipher (I recommend checking their fics but please do mind that since this was made in 2016-ish (?) there are Sub and Dom elements and also slight feminization of the characters).

Another one of those is like AUs as well. There were many AUs that existed before but that seemed to vanish in thin air but one of those was Blessworld.

Now, do I think it's toxic because you know, they kinda hate each other on the same basis and almost killed each other at The End? Well, not exactly. It depends on how you maneuver their dynamic. Can Tom forgive despite Tord trying to kill them (add Edd and Matt here) all just for his Giant Robot and army? Can he also forgive Tord for leaving them so suddenly? Can Tord forgive Tom for making his world domination plan fail? Well up to you. I really DO think it's more unhealthy but not all relationships start out perfect as it is but there are some Tomtord shippers that would usually make these two (in a fanon sense) get to a point where they call a truce and basically be lovey-dovey with each other (sexual tension ig?) through some mutual understanding.

Another thing was that Tomtord could technically also happen, provided that in WTFuture, they happen to become friends (this is still debatable, maybe they are now controlled by Tord or something) because Red Leader (of course this is Tord) lent him and Matt a time machine just to stop Edd from creating a time paradox or generally messing with the timelines. That's why most fics as before were always set in WTFuture (which I still love lmao).

Personally, the best way to learn and like this ship is if you're a sucker for slow burn/eventual romance and angst no comfort (including the Hanahaki Disease trope and so many others). Probably also add fix-it. You still always go to the fluff section.

Please do note this is coming from a fan who has been in the Eddsworld fandom from 2016-ish and just came back recently. I still love Tomtord no matter what, as well as other ships (I respect most of it even if I don't like it). It's pretty much up to you if you will like the ship.

so i have a question why do people ship tomtord no hate but it confuses me on 1 hand i understand the Enemis to lovers ship and i love those ships but on the other hand i do not understand since tord tried to kill tom in the end part 2 so if you ship these two can you tell me why hell i may start to love the ship

It has come to the attention of All Might and his police friends that All for One manage to slip covering up a location of one of his many hideouts in Japan.

Infiltrating the site, they are astonish to find what is inside. Most of the large apartment had been turned into an aquarium. Greenery and beautiful sea life thrived at the sandy flooring of the tanks. Looking around more there are tubes that pass through the wall and into other rooms in the condo unit.

Curious, they follow the tubes and lead in and out of the rooms. Some police left in certain rooms to gather data when it seemed important enough.

Once reaching the last of the rooms, they discover a large tank where all the tubes connected. All kinds of fish swimming about in the tank, even a shark! Approaching closer they try to see more into the tank.

All Might leans closer to the glass to get a better look at the decorated sandy flooring. Perhaps his nemesis hid something important information.

Instead, something darts out from a huge rock. His awe blue eye meeting curious emerald ones.

Years ago, where dragons and monsters roam and coexist among humans freely, there were two young men who loved each other dearly.

They had their rough starts like any other but went on the path of reconcile and second chances. Destiny and fate worked their magic for them and those around them with good intent.

However, at the time of their lives, the happienst moment where they could bond together. They were torn apart by dark forces.

With their last breath, hands held together tightly, they promised to be with each other in the next life and get their happily ever after.

Many years later into the far future, Fate and Destiny will assist in their promise. Again they will meet, odds against and with them, tied together they must face the challenge of remembering each other.

Around the time after All Might defeated All for One in Kamino Ward, Class 1-A notices some changes between their symbolic leading duo.

Or simply, The current Bakugou and Midoriya are acting like their past selves from time to time because Fate and Destiny want to help keep their past promise.

But Korean’s easy? Ehhh..

To avoid harshness or directness of questions or statements in Korean, there is a lot of grammar used to soften language. One piece of grammar that I could never quite grasp was 뭐뭐~(ㄴ/는)걸. This is actually a conjunction (but), so generally the first sentence is assumed. So lets compare it to a few other easier bits of grammar.

~네 – Direct statement / question 맛있네? - “But this is tasty?**’ 맛있네 -  “This is tasty.”

~(ㄴ/는)데 – Contrasting statement / question 맛있는데? – “But this is delicious?**” 맛있는데 – “This is delicious, but~”

** - These are rhetorical answers that provide a passive form of contradiction

~(ㄴ/는)걸 – Indirect supposition 맛있는걸? – “It tastes better than I expected.”

Basic Conversation: A: 벌써 11시네? B: 피곤하네 ㅠㅠ A: 그래도 졸리진 않은데? B: 피곤한데 더 놀고 싶어 … 놀고싶은데 피곤한걸 A: 그럼 너 이제 자야겠는걸?

A: It’s already 11 o’clock? B: I’m tired ㅠㅠ A: Still, are you not sleepy? B: I’m tired, but I want to hang out more. … I want to hang out, but I’m more tired than I expected. A: Then you should probably get some sleep now?

So as you can see, a lot of the meaning comes from the intonation of the speaker. (ㄴ/는)데 can be positive or negative depending on the inflection in the person’s voice or following comments. However, (ㄴ/는)걸 is an indirect way to speak (as if you’re speaking to yourself) to soften unexpected negative answers.

Ex. “먹을래? (Want to eat?)” “이미 먹었는걸?” This may seem like you’re saying “But I already ate?” but is really an indirect way to say “Sorry, I already ate.” As a native English speaker this may seem weird, but these are the nuances that help us truly become fluent. :) This form is very informal so use it among friends.
