Concept to Film Series: The Kursed Dark Elves! The top row shows the concept design I did for these transformed Dark Elves you see in the beginning of the movie. The bottom is a shot from the film. They came out great & are quite scary to behold. I still can't believe that intro scene was almost completely CG! Creator: Tim Miller Executive Producer: David Fincher Seriously. I paused it mid way through the first episode to call my girlfriend to tell her to watch this amazing show. Animation is amazing, the story telling is impressive especially in 17 minutes. This is no animation for kids that's for sure. A lot of people are really gonna enjoy this, I find myself amazed at the variety of deep and engaging storylines that left me at the edge of my seat... Enraptured, in awe, perplexed, in love, angry and even clamoring for more. This anthology is unique in its offering and I can't wait for the second volume. Nearly all of the visual novellas are masterpieces in their own right both in story and in animation style. Every single episode of this was original and incredibly well done. If you like adult animation at all, or science fiction... Or even fantasy there will definitely be a lot here for you to like. I honestly have no complaints, there was nothing about it I didn't like, thus the perfect 10 from my bingeable list . This is an open letter to Rocksteady and Blur, the creators of the Arkham Games and the accompanying cinematic trailers that were released with them for promotional materials. I am an aspiring writer and game designer and this letter is equally a declaration of affection as it is a request.

I’ll try to marshall my thoughts into a cohesive and enjoyable format so that the message gets across clearly and there is no need for clarification or recitation of my feelings on the matters I’m soon to present.

I know you, speaking to Rocksteady specifically, have ceased making Batman games. You’ve seen Bruce’s story from a brilliant opener to a fantastic closing and to do anything further in his world would be to offset your perfect streak, and it is perfect. However, I posit to you this, as an alternative...

HOW ABOUT A BIRDS OF PREY GAME?! 

The Fear Combat system is TOP NOTCH, to the point that Captain America, Lord of the Rings and other good games have aped it ad nauseum. The Batgirl DLC for Arkham Knight was LAUDED and a breath of fresh air among the usual ‘hour long beat em up’ missions you usually put out for DLC. 

No one liked that you put Babs and Tim together, that was dumb, but think of the stories you could tell with the Birds! In a Post-Batman Gotham? Three crime fighters emerge from varying points of call to take on the crusade! A BRAWLER from Star City, a GENUIS from Gotham and a PRODIGY from another dimension! (Or a PRODIGY from a crime family, pick your canon don’t let me interpret things for you.)

Multiple Character Storylines are BIG, just look at GTA V, and being able to balance three different forms of combat / gadget usage in a fight (something you began working on with your dual takedowns / batman + robin of the day missions in AK.) would be wicked. 

So the question becomes, logically, who are the Birds fighting against? Who is it sat atop Gotham that needs putting down? 

W e l l... what about the GOTHAM CITY SIRENS?

But Noeva, Pam’s dead, Harley’s locked up and Selina’s reformed.

A. Pamela is MOTHER EARTH. So long as this planet draws breath, she will survive. She could’ve reconstituted herself by now, been reborn with the seasons, sprouted from the flower she left on Miyagani.

B. Try and keep Harley Quinn locked up for longer than she needs to be, I dare you.

C. HER MORAL CENTER IS GONE. HE’S DEAD... OR- or sitting in a cave somewhere training new recruits to take on crime in his city for him. REGARDLESS, if Pammy and Harls showed up telling her about a big score, something that would be super relevant to her goals and motivations, you don’t think she’d be down?

Noeva, that’s cool and all but... the dudebros who make up a large part of our financing won’t buy a game where you play as three women fighting three women. It don’t make dollars and it don’t make sense.

OKAY. FINE. THE COURT OF OWLS STILL EXISTS! 

Black Mask isn’t dead, and he’s got a HELL of a score to settle! (But didn’t he die in the Red Hood-) That was one of his body doubles, Black Mask don’t beg for his life. EVER. The False Face would FUCK SHIT UP in Gotham because a LOT of the major rivals are out of the way. 

The Royal Flush Gang could make an appearance, Secret Six is schlepping around somewhere, THE SUICIDE SQUAD COULD SHOW UP (ARMED BY AMANDA WALLER) TO BRING LAW TO GOTHAM SINCE BATMAN’S GONE. THE BIRDS WOULD TAKE UMBRAGE WITH THAT, and THEN its not about vigilantes against villains, its about Vigilante’s against THE GOVERNMENT. Fighting for legitimacy in a world where Batman was law and now the law is split between ‘the lawmakers’ and ‘the lawbringers’. 

WE COULD HAVE BARBARA GORDON FROM THE FUTURE COME BACK IN TIME TO PRE NEO-GOTHAM AND PUT THE BIRDS TOGETHER HERSELF TO STOP CHRONOS FROM FUCKING UP THE TIMELINE! AND IF ITS A TIME TRAVEL TING, GUESS WHO GETS TO MAKE HIS RETURN AS THE DARK KNIGHT??

There are still DOZENS of stories to be told in the universe you’ve created and it would be amazing, simply and irrefutably amazing if one of those stories being told surrounded women in Gotham and the parts they can play, the THINGS THEY CAN DO that don’t revolve around being Batman’s Man Angst, Emotional Motivation or ‘poorly cared for sidekicks.’

Was that the overall message of this letter? Hell no, the message in its entirety was: I want another Arkham Game, hook me up. But at the same time, knowing how the universe is set up and what you’re all capable of... this next installment having a bit more vagina in its viginace would be wicked.

That’s my time though, I’ve been Noeva and I sure hope this tumblr post reaches y’all.
