In and beyond canon (headcanons!); Red/Kitty and Jackie/Hyde parallels (and differences).
The parallels:
*Hyde gets a motorcycle, and Jackie rides it with him (even though she complains).
*Jackie can be a bit overbearing, as a mother. Not in a babying mother hen way, but in a "I know what's best for you" kind of way.
*Hyde detests church, as does Red, but Jackie goes often. Unlike Red, he rarely goes (see the political differences, down below).
*Hyde, like Red, is particularly protective of his daughter. He aggressively confronts a wayward boyfriend, just like Red did with Kelso.
*If his daughter dates a Kelso/someone like Kelso/a general dumbass, he'll call him a kettlehead. Or a dumbass.
*It's revealed in canon that Kitty and Jackie were both cheerleaders, and both care about social status. They both drag their significant others and kids to various social events, and they all protest.
*Both Red and Hyde are very introverted. Red moreso, but they don't want to do a bunch of stupid shit. Other than going to car shows, and for Hyde, he wants to go to some cool concerts, too.
*Both Hyde and Red like Sinatra.
*Usually, unless it's a moral thing, Hyde and Red will cave to Jackie's and Kitty's demands.
*Hyde and Red both prefer to stay bottled up, emotionally. Jackie and Kitty coax it out of them.
*Hyde and Red get Jackie and Kitty to think. Hyde, in particular, challenges Jackie to get out of her bubble.
*Both Kitty and Jackie take forever to get ready. Red and Hyde wait.
*Both Kitty and Jackie love to organize. Closets, parties...
The differences:
*Jackie's a terrible cook. Hyde cooks.
*Hyde is far more liberal. Red is far more conservative.
*Eric and Donna live next door to Jackie and Hyde, but they aren't much of a Bob and Midge, other than Hyde and Jackie finding them to be annoying sometimes.
*Kitty gets almost all of Red's clothes. Jackie only does this when it comes to formal wear. They both buy all the kids' clothes, too. Donna buys almost all of Eric's clothes, though.

I LOVE this!! Adored seeing the whole family and with special appearances from Marty-That was fun!
Thank you for once again sharing these wonderful stories and positivity for the T9S universe!
Could you write “I love your smile” prompt for baby Leia? maybe something like Leia's first birthday with the whole family (Kitty, Red, Bob and Midge(?) ) and obviously Donna and Eric ❤️‼️ thanks
Thanks for the ask! Prompt Ask Game
"Okay, photos!" Kitty Forman shouted. "We have to get some photos! Red, where's the camera?" Her husband wordlessly handed it to her.
Their driveway was decked out in pink and purple decorations, for their granddaughter's first birthday party. A card table with a huge plate of elaborately decorated cupcakes sat just inside the garage, and little Leia was perched right next to it in her high chair. A large silver balloon shaped like a 1 was tied to it, and the tot looked up at it curiously.
Kitty placed one of the pink cupcakes on Leia's tray table and kissed her forehead, giggling with excitement. Then she gestured for Leia's parents. "Come on, come on, before she eats it now!"
Eric came over and stood to one side of the high chair and then Donna stood on the other. They both looked down at their daughter affectionately, and Kitty started snapping photos.
"I can't believe she's one," Donna said, almost in disbelief.
"Look at me! Look at me!" Kitty called, waving her hand. Red came to stand behind her, and he made a goofy face at Leia to capture her attention, and it worked. The baby burst out into a giggle, and all of the adults cooed.
Click, click went Kitty's camera.
"Okay, now one with the grandparents," Eric's uncle Marty suggested. He'd walked up, and now he clapped Red's shoulder. "Don't you want Leia to remember you when you're gone?" He widened his eyes at his brother. "The way you gobble down red meat, you might not have that many years together."
Red scowled. "For the last damn time, Marty, I'm not turning into a damn vegetarian - "
"Vegan," Marty corrected his much more conservative older brother. "And if you'd just listen to me - the health benefits are amazing, not to mention - "
"Alright, alright. Just get in the picture," Eric gestured to his parents. "This is torture for the kid," he chuckled, gesturing to Leia. He was holding the cupcake just out of her grasp, and she eyed it hungrily.
Kitty handed Marty the camera, and she and Red both jumped in the frame next to Eric and Donna. The camera clicked several more times.
"Alright Red, try to smile in this one," Marty suggested.
"I am smiling," Red said through his teeth.
"It's more of a grimace."
"Just take the damn picture."
Marty snapped several more.
"Oh, oh, where are Bob and Midge?" Kitty asked the group. She stood up on her tippy toes, glancing around the driveway for Leia's other set of grandparents. "They should be in these too."
"Should they, though?" Red muttered. Eric nodded like he agreed with him, and Donna elbowed him sharply.
"I'll go find them," Donna offered. She slipped into the house via the sliding glass door, and emerged just a few moments later with Bob. "My mom's coming," she explained, and the group started to rearrange around the high chair.
"There's my little pumpkin," Bob cooed, tickling Leia's chin. Then he glanced around at the group. "Are we set on this pose, or can we do some negotiating?"
Red sighed and lifted his hand to his head, already exasperated. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Well for starters, this isn't my good side," Bob gestured to his left. "I wanna be on the right."
"Bob, I'm on the right."
"And I would like you to be on the left."
"I'm not - "
Their bickering was interrupted by Midge and her husband Ralph's entrance. It was impossible to miss, because Midge announced her presence every time she entered a room, like they didn't remember who she was. "It's me, everyone. Midge." She looked around with a million dollar smile. "And my husband Ralph," she added as an afterthought.
Ralph held onto her arm but it was unclear if he was supporting Midge or if Midge was supporting him. Ralph was in his 80's, and quite feeble.
"Nice of you to join us," Bob sneered at Midge as they approached. "On your way to the cemetery," he added.
Midge scoffed. "We're not going to the cemetery, Bob. We're going to a birthday party." She'd reached the high chair, and she ruffled Leia's hair playfully. "Leia's party!"
"Could have fooled me with that bag of bones." He said the words under his breath, but loud enough for Midge to hear. She crossed her arms and glared at her ex-husband.
"I see you went the... other direction," Midge said snarkily, as Bob's girlfriend Kelly joined them. She reached his side and kissed his cheek. "What year did you graduate from high school, sweetheart?" Midge asked her, with false, cloying sweetness.
"1980," Kelly said brightly.
"Oh, that's great. You know, I have a daughter who's around your age!"
Donna groaned, and interrupted her parents. She knew from experience that this could go on all night.
"Okay, look. We're just trying to take a picture. With Leia - with all of her grandparents." She motioned for Bob and Midge to get into the picture. They each moved in - but their significant others came with them.
"Um - " Eric spoke lowly, just to Donna. "Do we really want them in the family picture? C'mon, I'm gonna look at this in twenty years and think 'Who's that?'"
"Okay Eric," Donna nodded. "You want to start WWIII? Hmm? Then sure. Go ahead and say that."
He sighed. She lifted her eyebrows at him, and mouthed it again. 'Go ahead.' He sighed again, but didn't say anything else.
"Alright everyone, look over here," Marty called.
"Ow! She's on my dress!" Kelly exclaimed.
"Well your dress is everywhere," Midge complained, pushing at the tulle skirt. "I mean honestly, who wears something like this to a baby's party?"
"Yeah," Bob agreed sarcastically. "She shoulda worn something sensible, like you." He glanced down at their feet. "You normally see heels like that on hookers in the red light district."
"And how many hookers are you seeing these days, Bob? Is - "
"Oh no!"
Marty's cry interrupted their fight, and drew the group's attention to baby Leia. In the midst of the chaos she'd reached one of the cupcakes, and from the smears of pink frosting everywhere and the grin on her face, it seemed she'd devoured it. She was sucking on the paper wrapper now, and Donna immediately jumped forward and fished it out of her mouth.
"Leia!"
They all chuckled at the adorable, but messy scene. Even more so when her gummy little smile spread even wider when she realized she was the center of attention.
"Aw," Bob tipped his granddaughter's chin again. "I love your little smile."
"Me too."
"Me three."
They all smiled at the little girl, and Marty snapped a photo.
Bob cleared his throat. "'Course, she gets that from my side. That's the Pinciotti smile."
"It is not," Red shook his head. He pointed at Leia. "That kid is all Forman, Bob."
"No, she's - "
They continued to bicker, but as Donna glanced at Eric it didn't seem to matter anymore. He glanced back at her and they shared a bemused look before Eric swiped a cupcake for them. He ran his finger along the edge, gathering a dollop of frosting, and fed it to Donna.
"Happy one year," he said, smiling. "We made it."
Donna rested her head on his shoulder and tousled her daughter's hair happily. "We made it."

Donna's Childhood and Teenhood Wounding
Donna grows up with two loving but self-involved parents. Bob has oppressive and regressive ideas about gender roles, which Donna clearly rebels against early on -- likely reflexively. Until Donna is seventeen, Midge is passive about Bob's chauvinistic attitude and treatment of her (Midge). This passivity coupled to Bob's chauvinism is Donna's first and primary model for male-female romantic relationships, the disparity in U.S. society between men and women, and a bleak vision for Donna's future since she's female.
On the show, Bob refers to Eric as "dirtying [Donna] up" because Donna and Eric have sex. He uses the word dirty in regard to Donna and other women for enjoying and having sex.
Bob and Midge tend to neglect Donna on a regular basis. They get caught up in sexual fads, for which they not only ignore Donna but also expose Donna to inappropriately and often.
Further, Bob and Midge make Donna a witness to and arbiter of their marital problems. During season 1 and half of season 2, Donna is in a constant state of fear that her parents will divorce. They include her in their fights and use her to win those fights.
Bob writes Midge a note that calls her a bitch, one he knows Donna shouldn't see but writes in front of her anyway. Regardless that he tells Donna that this term doesn't refer to her, the fact it refers to her mother demonstrates and reinforces his lack of respect for Midge and women.
The way Donna is raised teaches her not to trust men will treat her as an equal or worthy of respect, makes her afraid of being trapped in a romantic relationship that limits her freedom and won't allow her to pursue her dreams, makes her fear that a romantic relationship can't and won't last if she's the one in it.
She's also afraid sex will ruin her relationship with Eric. She's watched her whole life how her parents' relationship to sex negatively impacts their marriage. She builds significant boundaries around and about sex in response to how her parents have none and, thus, force her to be a witness to their sex life.
Her attitude toward and choices about her relationship with Eric are consistently influenced by the state of her parents' marriage. When Bob and Midge fight, Donna pushes Eric away. After Bob and Midge renew their vows and commitment to each other, Donna feels safe enough to have sex with Eric the first time.
In reaction to her parents' neglect, she engages in self-destructive behaviors (e.g., purposely failing classes, smoking cigarettes, etc.) to get their attention. This self-destructiveness reaches its apex in season 4.
Midge leaves Bob and abandons Donna shortly after Donna and Eric break up. Bob is too overwhelmed by his own grief to be present to Donna and her grief. She essentially becomes parentless and doesn't have enough emotional support. Her lifelong fears and trauma coalesce in season four, and Donna undergoes a personality shift -- and adopts related behaviors -- to suppress her pain.
Donna's trauma is evident throughout the first half of the series. It's woven into her character through actions and dialogue. While Hyde's emotional wounds and their cause are explicitly stated and explored in specific episodes, Donna's -- by contrast -- are more subtly depicted but no less influential on her. She and Hyde, in fact, bond over where their trauma overlaps.
Fleeing to California at the end of season 5 to be with her mother is necessary and healing. Unfortunately, Bob is clueless about how his (in)actions and lack of emotional availability during season 4 contribute to Donna's choices. He punishes her, quite harshly, instead of giving her much-needed understanding when she returns home. He deprives her of finishing high school with her best friends, found family, and the boy she's loved since she was four-years-old.
Another trauma, but this time she has Eric to support her and allows her friends to support her, too.

My verdict: It's complicated. Jackie's, Hyde's (Bud and Edna), and Kelso's parents are canonically shit. We don't know enough about Fez's parents, so I can't judge.
For Bob and Midge: Their hearts are usually in the right place, but they seldom provide the stability Donna craves.
For Red and Kitty: It's complicated. I wouldn't go so far as to proclaim them as shitty parents, but they're far from perfect parents some try to portray.
The good, in a broad sense: They provide stability, for not only their kids but for their kids' friends. Kitty is a natural caregiver, and has a big heart. Red has a sense of duty, to make sure his kids (and their friends, begrudgingly) are alright.
The bad:
For Eric:
Kitty: Kitty definitely plays favorites (as does Red), and she tends to coddle him. She's overprotective, and although caution is an important virtue, she can inhibit him from growing and developing, as he's her "precious baby boy." She feels that she's the only one that can protect him, and that sows the seeds for her being a potentially disastrous mother in law.
Red: To him, Eric often defies his strict expectations of what makes a man. A big heart is all fine in a woman, but in a man? It makes him soft. He propels these expectations upon him, and this can lead to rifts. Not only in regards to "manly" activities, but in terms of politics, too. Red has a very particular, conservative philosophy, and will butt heads with Eric when he attempts to push back. Eric was too young during 'Nam, but if Red lives long enough, they will butt heads post 9/11/about the Iraq War. It's inevitable, simply.
For Laurie:
Kitty: In season 5, Kitty compares Laurie to her awful mother. She wonders how she birthed such an ungrateful daughter, and occasionally attempts to overcome assumed nature with nurture. Other times, they butt heads. Like her mother, Kitty typically thinks that Laurie can never be good enough, but she's far more passive aggressive, rather than blunt. Well, usually.
Red: He definitely plays favorites, but he also tends to infantilize her in his favoritism. She's his little girl who can do no wrong, and it's a wake-up call when he attempts to come to terms with her significant flaws.
Hot take: All the parents on T7S are awful, Red and Kitty included

The personal edits, in my head, I made to the T7S wiki(s).
Notes:
1. I ignore the T9S stuff, for obvious reasons. Logistical reasons, blah blah blah. Unless they mention any extended family stuff, or perhaps Kitty's age, because that would stay static regardless of it being an alternate universe (or not).
2. The only birth name and date canons are the following:
A) Red's full name is Reginald Albert Forman, and he was born on December 7, 1927. He turned 14 the day when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
B) Kitty was born on the 13th; likely, the 13th of October. Her maiden name is Sigurdson.
C) Kelso is around a year older than the gang, and Jackie is around a year younger.
D) Jackie's middle name is Beulah.
E) Hyde's full birth name is Steven J Hyde III, and he's a Sagittarius.
F) Donna is a month older than Eric.
Eric's birthday switches around so much, and Bob and Midge's birth dates on the wiki directly contradict canon (I will explain later).
*****
Kelso, Donna, and Jackie's full names and birth dates stay the same.
What I change:
1. Hyde's full middle name is James. Everything else stays the same. Other than the maternal half-brother he randomly mentions in season 8, as a joke, which I ignore.
2. The random brother Jackie apparently mentions in season 8 is ignored. I change it to a stillborn younger sister, Jennifer.
3. Eric's birthday was once March 18th on the wiki. It was changed to March 5th, at some point. I think March 18th, being the day after St Patty's day, is more fitting. For some reason.
4. Kitty's middle name is changed to Anna, after her Swedish grandmother. Her birthday is also moved up two years, since her being forty-six is more realistic for having menopause (while still expecting she might be pregnant). Red and Kitty definitely have an age gap, but not a six year one. Four years seems more fitting. Bea is also Swedish, too, with a maiden name of Holm.
5. Since I change Kitty's middle name, I change Laurie's, too. Lauren Anna Forman is her full name. It also sounds like Gloriana, which was a nickname for Elizabeth I. Lol.
6. Bob and Midge's wikis are a whole other can of worms. Their birth dates on the wikis constantly switch back and forth from 1929-30 to 1939. The former is impossible, since Midge said she found out she was pregnant with Donna when she was sixteen (you could say Valerie, I guess, but meh). So, 1942-3 is far more likely as Midge's birth date, and Bob seems to be around the same age as Midge. So I put Bob's birth date as early 1942, and Midge's as mid-late 1942.
Then comes their names. I peg them both as Italian, so I ignore Aldren altogether. Midge's full name is Margaret Helena Rossi. And Bob's is Robert Joseph Pinciotti, since I made it up before the wiki did (or, at least, before I saw it). And Giovanni seems so stereotypical, idk.
7. Fez gets a full name, Guilherme Queimada-Guzman (this would be butchered by some suburban white people, I think). He has a bunch of middle names, most of which I don't remember. Arturo, Luis, and Carlos are in there somewhere.
8. Jack's full birth name is John Charles Burkhart. It is mentioned that Jackie has a ninety two year old grandmother in 1978, so she likely is his mother. I actively headcanon he's a lot older than Pam, so he was born in 1920.

Hello again! I'm back with another That '70s Show original script. This time we'll be looking at S3xE23 "Backstage Pass"!
This one is extra special because of who it belonged to - one Corey Landis. And it's a table draft, which means there were quite a few changes (some of them significant!). Read on for my summary.
Tumblr media
Who's Corey Landis? you may ask. Fair question.
Tumblr media
He is the actor who plays a young Red Forman a few different times throughout the series! It's really cool to see the different notes he wrote to himself about how a scene should be staged or acted.
First up, right off the bat the cold open has some different lines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, the scene still ends in the same place and most of what the characters say is similar. You can see how they made it slightly shorter in the episode.
I like that Fez is interested in the soybean futures lol, that in the actual episode Eric's line was, "Pork belly prices. How cute is that?" instead, and that LP might've improvised her bit about forgetting to turn off the microphone (or it was added by a writer/producer in a later version of the script).
Eric and Donna's next scene is virtually the same, except for one major difference...
... the band they went to see was originally going to be Aerosmith! In the actual episode, they went to see Ted Nugent. There must have been some kind of licensing issue with being able to use Aerosmith. It's a significant difference, though, because this episode would've continued the characterization that Donna has a crush on Steven Tyler.
There's also this funny, cut moment at the end of Eric and Donna's scene at the radio station:
Tumblr media
Now onto the parents.
Some more Bob and Midge lore:
Tumblr media
Red and Kitty's interaction is nearly word for word, but check out the actor's notes from the table read!! Pretty cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next scene sees the gang waiting for the Aerosmith Ted Nugent concert to begin. And again it's similar, though not identical, to the scene that aired - Jackie and Kelso discuss their week of romance, Eric and Donna are eager for the concert to begin, and Fez and Hyde reveal their misspelled concert merch.
I was robbed of another Eric & Donna kiss (and a hug!), though 😡 + Eric calling her his "best girl". 🥹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we're back to the parents.
Red is still trying to remember how he and Kitty really met, and Kitty is becoming increasingly upset. In the episode she told him her version of events at this point, but in the script it is dragged out a little longer.
The Packer refrigerator magent line made me chuckle, ngl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back at the concert. This scene is again nearly identical to what really aired, but I enjoyed Kelso's Aerosmith versions of the songs he changed for Jackie. 😂
Tumblr media
Then we check in on Fez and Hyde, who are struggling to sell their misprinted t-shirts just like in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Donna's scene backstage is word for word, except she's interviewing Steven Tyler instead of Ted Nugent.
In the next scene, Fez and Hyde get arrested. The scene is practically the same, except we get a little more insight into how upset Eric is with Donna. "Tonight was supposed to be about us," 😫. And I like Fez's Cheryl Tiegs line from the actual episode better.
Tumblr media
Then the script cuts back to Red and Kitty. It's basically the same scene from the actual episode, but with a few added details. Horseface Lynn Taylor is mentioned again 🤣
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Eric's scene with the janitor (Stanley!!), and Donna's scene backstage where Ted/Steven offers to let her touch the guitar are word for word.
Kelso and Jackie's storyline and lines are mostly unchanged throughout, but this added line from Eric at the end of their final scene made me 😂🤣
Tumblr media
Then we're back to Red and Kitty to conclude their storyline for the episode. The scene starts out the exact same, but ends with slightly different lines.
I just love getting to see the actor's notes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, the biggest difference of all: in the script, Eric and Donna's final scene takes place in the Forman basement, not outside of the concert venue. I'm glad they changed that, because all I can think is: how did Donna get home that night? Even though he was pissed, Eric really left her there? No no no no no. 😣 I think it's much more in character that he waited.
I do like that in the script Donna at least actually apologized - in the episode, she didn't. It's widely acknowledged within the fandom that this is one of Donna's worst moments on the show, regardless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As one of the final episodes of season 3, this episode/storyline was integral to setting the stage for Eric and Donna's emerging break-up and it does the job. The original script even more so than the actual episode, in my opinion.
Well, that's all I've got for this one! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more in the series. I'm your *very* pregnant and uncomfortable host, @thatseventiesbitch 😄.
Other Scripts I've Posted:
S2xE20 "Kiss of Death" S2xE22 "Jackie Moves On" S2xE23 "Holy Crap!" S2xE26 "Moon Over Point Place" S5xE21 "Trampled Under Foot" S6xE20 "Squeezebox" S7xE8 "Angie"

That 90s Show? Nah
That 50s Show, a prequel series that follows Red and/or Kitty and explains EVERYTHING abt their relationships with the other characters because tbh that shit is more interesting than half the shit in late series 70s Show. And the best part, we don't even need the original Red and Kitty.
Do I think this would actually happen? Probably not, especially with all the Danny Masterson/Mila and Ashton/ Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith defending Masterson controversy that happened.
Do I want it to happen? Yeah.

Ship Qs:
Thoughts and/or feelings about Bob with Midge, Joanne, and Pam?
What do you think Donna/Brooke romantic pairing would be like?
Bob/Midge: As a kid, I remember liking them and being shocked and sad about their split. Now that I've gotten older and rewatching this, I feel like while Bob/Midge have cute moments, Bob can be a huge sexist to Midge at times. He's shown to be intimated and slightly controlling when Midge begins fighting for her independence. As sad as their split was, with Midge leave and the effect it had on Donna. I don't blame her. I just wish Midge would've been able to keep in contact with her daughters y'know.
Bob/Joanne: I didn't remember a lot about them when I was younger, only in the season 8 redo fic. But seeing content now and on the show, they're cute! Not my #1 or anything but I like them. Bob actually seemed to be a better person with Joanne. Sad that they split out of nowhere.
Bob/Pam: I can kind of see the appeal and I am very mad at Jackie for taking Pam's side over Bob during the breakup, especially given that Bob took care of Jackie and Pam was a deadbeat (I can kind of understand her attachment with Pam since at the end of the day, they're family but still). But they're not really a fave tbh. It would've been nice to see Pam and Jackie mend their bond and Bob stay with Joanne (I remember you mentioning this a while back).
Donna/Brooke: I feel like they'd both understand one another. Donna would show Brooke that it's good to want more for yourself with feminism and Brooke would help Donna want to focus on her future. In s3, Donna was shown to have big aspirations. I feel like if Donna/Brooke was together at that point instead of E/D, there wouldn't be any of that tension with Donna working more. Brooke would understand and even encourage Donna to get out of her comfort zone. And the stuff with the promise ring wouldn't happen either. Brooke would just be by Donna's side as she navigates growing into an independent woman.

THROW YOUR ARMS AROUND THE WORLD: IN DEFENCE OF "DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?"
Forget the synthetic sleigh bells and the inaccurate lyrics. Forget Phil Collins’ sleeveless brown jumper. Forget, if you can, the un-wokeness of it all. Forget even Bob Geldof’s avowed hatred of his own creation: Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas? is a slice of 1980s pop genius.  By 2023, you have said “merry Christmas!” to members of your family 39 times since Do They Know It’s…

#OTD in 1984 – Bob Geldof and Midge Ure founded 'Band Aid' and wrote a song, 'Do They Know It's Christmas?', to raise money for anti-famine efforts in Ethiopia by releasing it for the Christmas market.
Geldof was given no more than 24 hours to record and mix ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ at the SARM Studios in the Notting Hill district of London.  Considering the logistics of getting all of those names in one room (which included Sting, Bono, Phil Collins, Duran Duran, George Michael and Boy George, to name a few), it’s amazing the single was released in the U.K. four days later on 29 November…
