Sand Crane Close and Personal by Lutfi Shedraway
Via Flickr:
This Sand Crane, short for Sandhill Crane, like to pay us a visit every morning. Sand Cranes mate for life and usually you will find them as a couple walking side by side. However this one is either bacheloring it or lost his mate. One noticeable thing about him, he limps and so he must have been injured and he did not recover well. So I have a Florida room made of aluminum and netting, which is things you see in many homes in Florida to protect the people form mosquitos, when they want to be outside or host friends outside. This sand crane gets too close to the net and my wife and I will go out and stand there to where he stays at a distance. We had the unfortunate incident of one of the Sand Cranes in our neighborhood poked a hole in the net, going after a lizard. To fix the area, that crane damaged, it was costly. This one here seems now to get bolden, so even when we stand there, he no longer leaves and simply stands at around 15 ft from us. Ok so that is opportune times to take few close up shots. Sand Cranes in Florida, stopped fearing people. They assimilated in neighborhoods and more often you see them daily! This photo is taken with the new Panasonic Lumix portable camera

I painted this a long while ago when the party first split cause I knew I wouldn’t have to time paint anything when the Hells finally reunited cause of my current job. I obviously thought it’d probably be Imogen in a really dark place and Laudna being full of joy etc, when they reunited, but based on last week's episode, it’s definitely going to be the opposite. Makes me want to redo this now and switch them around. Someday when I have time, maybe.
Here have some close-ups too.
Also it’s based on this still from “Portrait of a Lady on Fire”

Barn Owl Posing Unphased by Lutfi Shedraway
Via Flickr:
My Saturday -My day of walk and photography. This morning started on the right footing. I arrived to the Orlando Wet Land. Walking a bit and looking to my right, I thought initially I am seeing a red hawk. So I looked through the zoom lens, and I saw the big shoulder and head. I saw it was an owl. So like a cat hunter, I eased few steps every time he looked away. I got close to about 20 ft, and then he looked and stayed unphased by my presence. I took few shots before he simply turn off the light bulbs; closed his eyes and went to sleep. So Cool! At the largest photo size, reflection in the eyes shows the surrounding and the view this owl was looking at.
