THE LEGEND OF BRADY’S CREW AND THEIR CRASH WAGON

The crash landing we see John Brady’s crew conduct in Part 1 of Masters of the Air was not their first. On Christmas Eve of 1942, Brady’s crew took off on a training mission but crash landed in the snowy mountains of Evanston, Wyoming due to inclement weather and a lack of gas. No one was injured thanks to Brady’s skillful flying (and Harry Crosby’s Scottish descent, according to the young woman who found them).

Afterward, the crew received a brand new B-17F, serial number 42-30071. Though officially titled “SKIPPER”, the Fort had immediately been given a name: “BRADY’S CRASH WAGON” in homage to the legend of their training accident.

Their second crash landing, the one we see in the show, actually occurred at an Air Depot in Warton on the east coast due to the landing gear being frozen. Their belly-landing damaged their aircraft so they were forced to take a train to Diss and then a truck to Thorpe Abbotts.

42-30071 “BRADY’S CRASH WAGON” would be repaired and sent to the 96th Bomb Group. It was irreparably damaged in another belly-landing on April 18, 1944 and scrapped.

Like. the original red vs blue paring. They actually kill each other a lot. You’ve gotta listen to their scrapped voice lines in game that they use after they kill each other !! Very cute. I think it would be a crime not to add them actually. A cardinal sin maybe. They’re also the best of friends and they have a whole official comic just for them very epic and cool. They mean so much to me,, beloveds,,,,, little guys,, he hims,,,,,,,,,, love wins.

i’m sooo curious on bill meeting dipper’s parents. i think i remember you mentioning at one point they kinda sucked and treated dip especially bad. i’m sure that’s caused a lot of his long term mental health/self esteem issues and i can’t help but think his husband wouldn’t be too thrilled about that. also they don’t even know he’s married so that’s a whole other thing lol

In the Familiar AU, Dipper's parents shipped him and Mabel off to Grunkle Stan back when they were twelve, actually!

This was initially excused as the twins 'needing to get used to having magic'. Which makes sense! Magical puberty is a heck of a thing, and getting some training's useful to cut down on random magic surges.

But by the end of the summer, they hadn't made any plans for picking the kids up. This when Stan twigged to the real situation.

And by the end of that year, Dipper knew his 'paranoid' assumption was absolutely correct.

So the twins grew up in Gravity Falls, with only very occasional visits back 'home'. Contact's been sporadic, and Mabel's been the one who's clung more to their parent's attention. Dipper hasn't spoken to them unless forced to in years.

So yeah! Bill's not exactly thrilled with the parents - but lucky for them, they haven't met him yet! And they definitely don't know about the marriage. Much less anything else.

wait a second. The Batmobile bomb incident happened pre-red hood training and we can reasonably assume that knowing how to make a bomb is not a part of Robin training so Jason just knew how to do that on his own

as a followup to my last post before the game came out, I recently finished Bomb Rush Cyberfunk- aside from some collectibles and 100%ing the whole game- and man. man. okay no you dont get it (unless you know jsr and the fans' history of begging for a new game or SOMETHING).

I think a lot of people I've seen in the brc/jsr tags agree that this is what we wanted. Team Reptile did in 3-4 years what sega couldnt do in 20+

the whole thing, the style, the graffiti and trick system, the ost, all holds up to jsr/jsrf's standards imo, it did not disappoint , even the plot held up and i didn't even expect much of a plot. It had a somewhat silly absurdity to it towards the end (not spoiling anything) but they made it fucking cool. (as did jsr/jsrf tho tbh)

literally my only criticism for the gameplay or anything is a skill issue that's my own damn fault or minor unproblematic bugs that could easily be patched.

this game in my opinion Fucking Delivered on the JSR/F experience while also standing on its own two legs as an original game. its not just "JSRF 2"

it has heart. it has soul

people made affectionate jokes that this game looks like it understands the concept of love.

It does.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of what still is the worst terrorist attack in Europe's history. Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of those days that I can't forget. I don't know what I ate last week, but I do remember clearly what happened that morning. Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Madrid bombings, 3 bombings that killed almost 200 people and injured more than 2000, bombings that happened really close to home. I know people who died, I know people that survived. Today is the 20th year that I don't take the train on March 11th. Today, as every other year, we don't forget.
