Here's a helpful mnemonic to recall the general healing stages of bone fractures:
C.R.I.P.
C - Callus formation: Soft callus forms around the fracture site in the first few weeks.
R - Remodeling: Over months to years, the bone remodels and gradually returns to its original shape.
I - Inflammation: The initial response to injury, lasting for a few days.
P - Procallus to hard callus: Fibrocartilaginous (procallus) forms first, followed by a hard bony callus.
Healing times can still vary based on the type of fracture, the individual's overall health, age, and other factors.

Fracture! Awareness | Symptoms & Precaution - Dr. Pritam Pawar
Tumblr media
Being a specialized Orthopedic doctor, the doctor offers several medical services. These include Bone Fracture Treatment, Trauma, Joint Replacement, spine & spondylosis, and Bone Tumor Treatment.
Dr. Pritam Pawar is a specialist bone fracture surgeon in Nashik. He has wide years of experience in orthopedics.
A fracture is defined as a split in the bone. When a broken bone punctures the epidermis, it causes an open or compound fracture. Other reasons of bone weakness include low bone density and osteoporosis. A bone will split or break if it is subjected to more force than it can endure. A fracture is any type of crack.
A stress fracture is a bone break produced by repeated or prolonged pressure on the bone. The repeated stress weakens the bone, ultimately causing it to fracture.
The following are typical causes of fractures:
Car accidents
Falls
Sports injuries
Classification of Fractures:
• An open (compound) fracture; •
 A closed fracture; and
• An intra-articular fracture.
Awareness:
It is challenging to tell the difference between a dislocated joint and a broken bone.  Both are emergencies, and the fundamental first aid procedures are the same in both cases.
Source:
Some of the most common causes of fractured bones are as follows:
• Falling from a high height
 • Trauma
 • Car accidents
 • Direct blow
• Child abuse running, for example, can result in stress fractures of the foot, ankle, shin, or hip.
Symptoms:
• Swelling, bruising, or bleeding
• Intense pain
 • Numbness and tingling
 • Broken skin with bone protruding
 • Limited movement or inability to move a limb or place weight on the leg
Care:
Some first aid steps are as follows:
• Examine the person's airway and breathing. The local emergency number if necessary, and begin rescue breathing, CPR, or bleeding control.
• Maintain the person’s stillness and serenity.
• Inspect the person carefully for other injuries.
• Allow medical personnel to take further action in most cases if medical assistance comes quickly.
• If the skin is broken, it should be treated as soon as possible to prevent infection.
Precautions:
• Immediately ask for emergency help.
• Avoid breathing on or probing the incision.
• Try to conceal the wound to prevent further contamination. Cover with germ-free dressings if accessible.
• Do not try to align the fracture if you are not a medical professional.
• Avoid being shocked by taking measures.
• Lay the individual down on their back, raise their feet about 12 inches above their heads, and cover them with a coat or blanket.
• However, if a head, neck, or back injury is feared, the individual must not be moved.
Steps to follow in Critical Condition:
# Examine the blood stream.
Examine the person's blood stream. Apply firm pressure to the skin beyond the fracture location. (For example, if the fracture is in the leg, apply pressure to the foot). It should be white for approximately 2 seconds before going pink.
# Poor circulation symptoms:
• Pale or blue skin tone
• Tingling or numbness.
• A pulse failure.
If circulation is poor and trained personnel are not immediately accessible, readjust the limb into a normal resting position. This will alleviate swelling, pain, and tissue damage produced by a blood shortage.
# Control and monitoring Bleeding
• Cover the incision with a dry, clean cloth to dress it.
• Apply direct pressure to the wound if the bleeding intensifies.
• Do not apply a compression bandage to the extreme spot if the bleeding is not life threatening.
• Tissue can only live for a limited time after a bandage is applied.
When You Should Consult a Doctor:
• A suspected broken bone in the head, neck, or back; or the individual is not reacting or is losing consciousness.
• There is a possibility of a fractured bone in the hip, pelvis, or upper leg.
• The injury cannot be completely incapacitated at the spot.
• There is significant hemorrhaging.
• A pale, clammy, cold, or blue region beneath the damaged joint.
• A bone is visible through the epidermis.
Even if other broken bones are not medical crises, they must be treated. Contact your Orthopedic to find out where and when you can be seen.
If a child refuses to place weight on an arm or leg after an accident, refuses to move the arm or leg, or has a visible deformity, assume the child has a fractured bone and seek medical attention.
Prevention:
To decrease your chances of breaking a bone, take the following precautions:
• Wear protective equipment when skiing, biking, roller blading, or engaging in competitive sports. Wearing a helmet, elbow, knee, wrist, and shin protection are all required.
• Keep a watch on children. There is no substitute for supervision, no matter how safe the environment or circumstance appears to be.
Purchase the Proper Shoes:
Consider more than just fashion when buying sneakers. The incorrect footwear can raise your risk of falling.
Maintain Adequate Lighting in Your Home
Make sure your home has sufficient lighting to help avoid falls.
'Fall-Proof' Your Home
Making your house safer is an essential part of fracture prevention because you probably spend the majority of your time there.
Treat Medical Issues
Some chronic medical conditions can reduce your strength and raise your risk of falling. Arthritis, for example, can make it difficult to move, and vision problems can increase the probability of tripping.
Dr. Pritam Pawar working with Nims Hospital Nashik, Nims Hospital has a well-equipped Hospital with all the modern equipment. The Hospital has separate waiting and consultation areas which allow enough space for patients to wait conveniently at the clinic.

"Choosing the Right Bone Void Filler for Your Surgery"
Bone void fillers play a crucial role in orthopedic and dental surgeries by promoting bone healing and regeneration in cases of fractures, defects, or surgical interventions.
These fillers, often made from biocompatible materials like calcium phosphate ceramics, hydroxyapatite, or bioactive glasses, provide structural support and scaffold for new bone formation. They are designed to mimic the natural composition of bone, aiding in the integration of new bone tissue and ultimately restoring skeletal integrity. Bone void fillers are particularly beneficial in complex fractures or situations where there is significant bone loss, facilitating the healing process and reducing the risk of complications such as non-union or delayed healing. Some fillers are also infused with growth factors or stem cells to further enhance bone regeneration capabilities. Advances in biomaterial science have led to the development of injectable fillers that can conform to irregular bone shapes and improve surgical outcomes by minimizing tissue trauma and accelerating recovery. As research continues to innovate in this field, bone void fillers remain a critical component in orthopedic and dental surgery, offering patients a pathway to faster, more effective bone healing and restoration. #BoneVoidFillers #Orthopedics #BoneRegeneration #MedicalTechnology #Surgery #OrthopedicSurgery #HealthcareInnovation #BiocompatibleMaterials #BoneHealth #BioactiveMaterials #OrthopedicDevices #MedicalDevices #BoneFracture #DentalSurgery #BoneGraft #RegenerativeMedicine #HealthTech #StemCells #GrowthFactors #SurgicalInnovation

Stop being mean to me!!! { my muse secretly thinking about yours }
Anonymously send me something your muse is secretly thinking about mine.
By the question Ziv narrowed her eyes to thin slits, her ears automatically lay flat against her head until her face looked pointy and small like a white needle: "Benny-cub? Is that you, Kriffer?"
She blinked and without her wanting to her pelt strated to bristle like from electricity. Without wasting another second the young woman turned around, took a deep breath and lifted a finger as she started mercilessly: "Okay, listen Kriffer, what-kriffing-ever: I am not kriffing mean, I am never kriffing mean. I am just kriffing honest. Because I happen to be a kriffing Healer and if I am not beeing honest people-and yes that kriffing happens, lo and be-kriffing-hold - people will die if I am not beeing honest. Its not that I can tell my patient who had just had their arm ripped off by the Wookie they decided to annoy that I will wait three minutes till the painkillers work before I burn their happily blood-splashing artery closed, because in three minutes they will be kriffing dead. Its also not that when my patient is suffering from a poisoning and they are begging me not to flush out their stomach because they will be nauseatic and feel bad, that I will not be honest and not push my fingers down their throat because that poison is going to kill them if I am not doing that so kriff this and open the floadgates, Kriffer! Its also not that I am beeing mean when I crack their open bonefracture back in place while they are still looking, despite me saying more than once that I will now crack the bone back in place for the bones to heal back together in the proper place. And yes, I know these are very kriffing specific examples, but, listen, I had a hard day and if you come at me with 'stop beeing mean', I just have to tell you the kriffing facts: I am not mean, I am kriffing honest and I am doing what has to be done to keep my patients kriffing alive and you can be kriffing mad at me about that but at least you are kriffing alive and able to be mad."
Ziv let go of a long breath that had been stuck in her throat like a clot. Her colourless Whiskers bristled in the long sigh, fluttering wildly. Then, rolling her shoulders as if she had just thrown off a heavy weight on her shoulders, the young woman just waved a small paw and turned around: "Okay, in all honesty, after that day I just need a kriffing drink and go let someone kriff my sweet little brain out, so what-kriffing-ever, Force be with you and such kriffery, I am out of here."

All sports have a risk of injury. In general, the more contact in a sport, the greater the risk of a traumatic injury. However, most injuries in sports are due to overuse. The most frequent types of sports injuries are sprains (injuries to ligaments) strains (injuries to muscles), and stress fractures (injuries to bones). The Injury occurs when excessive stress is placed on tendons, joints, bones and muscles.
Whether we play at a social or elite level, most of us have had a sporting injury. Join us for a Facebook Live Session on "Sports Injuries and Recovery" as we invite Renowned Arthroscopic Surgeon, VS Hospitals, Dr. Deebak Kumar explains how to recover from injuries and prevent them from happening on Thursday, 3rd March 2022 between 8:00pm and 8:30pm.
