here to rant about the changes to Claus and Margaret ++ extras

Claus : more-so reserved. Not much talk between him and Andy, and when you have to poke him to make him say the last "i spy", it triggers the Arthur and Thomas fight scene.

Margaret : now she's the one who needs you to do CLAUS'S mini game, being a little "yeet the fruit into the basket". After 3 fruit, you're given a prompt to still throw and it ends up thrown Margaret down and cuts to Kamryn's death scene

also Arthur would definitely be a more sober guy during Christmas. Sure, he likes a drink every now and then, but he doesn't like when he's drunk. Absolutely hates it. Would rather pass out immediately then have his drunk side (it's him being clingy and also toxic masculinity cause that's the 1980s for ya)

HELLO. I COME BEARING ISAT WING DESIGNS

To the left are the top/back views, and to the right are the bottom/front views! I think it’s fairly obvious bc of them being lighter colored and whatnot, but I figured I’d clarify just in case :]

(relative sizes not accurate btw!!! At some point I will create a proper lineup that compares everybody more accurately <3)

Design notes under the cut!! AND warning for very slight spoilers btw!!

SIFFRIN

Theirs are based off of a seagull’s because they’re originally from an island! I kept their shades pretty light, and gave them star patterns on their secondary and primaries! He’s also got some white speckling

MIRABELLE

I gave her very rounded wings to match the rest of her design! They ended up being shaped similar to an owl’s! I gave her a barred pattern to be reminiscent of the Change symbol!!

ISABEAU

I based his wing shape off of an eagle’s bc they’re like. Big strong birds. He’s got a lace pattern on the primaries and secondaries to be similar to his clothes, and then the lighter shades are to be similar to his hair!

BONNIE

Theirs are shaped like a puffin’s since they’re coastal birds and also I love puffins!! I gave them a little stripey pattern with some dots to be similar to the one on their shirt! They’ve got their flight feathers, BUT they’ve still got some downy fluff. They’re trying VERY HARD to fly!! Once their feathers fully grow in they go swimming with Sif :]

ODILE

Based hers off of a magpie for the dark color and the association with shiny things bc of her stuff with gems and also because I really like magpies <3 I gave her diamond patterns on the primaries to match the pattern on her jacket, and also because of the diamond shaped gems hanging off her glasses! If these were colored I would’ve made hers more desaturated than everybody else’s because. Old. But!! for now if I ever render anything properly I will just make them not quite as shiny

LOOP

Glowy spiky wings!!! They can also get floating shard thingies coming off of them, like what they get around their head sometimes! Their wings change shape a lot since they’re not really solid objects

EUPHRASIE

Based hers off of a swan’s since they are big and have white feathers and are associated with like gracefulness and whatnot! I gave her some barred patterns for the same reason Mira’s got hers, and also gave her some darker speckles around the tops to match her hair!

THE KING

Big ol albatross wings!! His are meant to look fairly similar to Sif’s since they both came from the island! He’s basically got inverted shades from Sif, with the same star and speckling patterns as them. ALSO he would have multiple sets of wings, and have a pair on his head that cover his face :)

New Orleans had become Bonnie Bennett’s home. The last time she’d considered a place home, her grandmother had been alive. It was a long time since then, but she finally felt like she found a place she truly belonged. Naturally, she was absolutely livid about being asked to leave.

“No! Klaus, I am not going anywhere.”

It was pure misfortune that Klaus Mikaelson remained unearthly beautiful even in the fits of rage he currently displayed.

“It’s not up for discussion, little witch.”

He hadn’t lost it, not yet, but she could see the anger burning brightly behind his dark blue eyes.

“The hell it isn’t! You know how important it is for me to be here. The witches, the coven, all of it. I can handle anything that comes my way.”

His laugh was harsh, sardonic.

“Really? Anything? Tell me, darling, can you handle armies of witches, vampires, and werewolves, all coming, ready to tear you limb from limb? Can you handle a relentless onslaught from them at all hours of the day and night, the manifestations of their hatred and hunger for power? Can you handle your so-called old friends returning and joining them, facing off against you because of where you align yourself now? Tell me, my dearest Bonnie, truly, can you handle it?”

“Yes I can!”

She didn’t care that she was shouting now. It felt good to shout, to scream out her emotions. Mystic Falls never gave her enough space to breathe. In New Orleans, she could scream her lungs out and keep coming up for air after if she wished to.

“Just because you don’t care for your own life does not mean others share the sentiment!”

He was shouting too now, and some sick, twisted part of her enjoyed it. She enjoyed the fact that she could anger the Hybrid King, that she alone could produce such heightened emotions from him. Maybe that’s why she’d come closer with every word, and why she held herself so straight as she neared him, yelling out, “Enlighten me, then! What exactly do you care for?”

Klaus’s gaze lit itself on fire. Bonnie’s eyes widened. His hands came up to her face, he pulled her in, and kissed her. She was frozen in shock for a single second. Then, she kissed him back with everything she had in her, clutching him as close as she could to her. They broke apart but he kept her flush against him, his forehead touching hers lightly.

“I’m staying,” Bonnie whispered, “I’m not going anywhere. Not without you.”

“Bonnie — ” Klaus murmured, strained.

“No. We rule here. They will not chase us out.” She took his hand carefully, placing it between them to rest on her stomach. His fingers caressed the fabric, brushing back and forth over it.

“If they come for one of us, they are coming for all of us now.” She felt his sigh stir her hair, his palm flattening out against her belly.

“Then we will raze them all to the ground.”

That smile she loved, maniacal and bloodthirsty, rose into his lips.

Her own followed with it.

I do agree with all the stuff you said in your body language post about aventurine, but there was an instance in 2.3 where he was standing right next to boothill when you meet with him and boothill, and obviously boothill isn't close to aventurine at all. Do you think this is an exception just because they were in the same room together and devs had to make them stand together so trailblazer could converse w/ them both?

I think it's just because they're not actually in the same room together.

In 2.3, Aventurine showed up only as a hologram. He's probably in his own room alone, actually. And I'm not sure that he could walk away as hologram, even if he wanted to. 😂

That said, it isn't that he never has any up-close conversations; it's just that he has way less of them than other characters do.

As another aside, I also think that Boothill is the kind of person who would absolutely go "The heck you tryin' to talk to me from the other side of the room for?!" And he would just walk right up on Aventurine with zero hesitation.

The space bubble does not exist for him lolol.

Bonnie likes activities that allows her to be connected with nature as a recharge. Swimming/Lifegaurd work, Jogging, Gardening all allows her to feel nature w/out using magic.

Since Bonnie home life was empty, Bonnie likes to photograph anything she sees. She then later scrapbooks her memories since Rudy nor Abby could’ve done that for her. Sheila has things (allegedly?) but that wasn’t her job.

She LOVES Traveling the world makes Bonnie feel like she isn’t on borrowed time. That her life is worth living and she just isn’t the “town witch”.

Dislikes:

Immediately being left out of things and told last minute.

People who can’t have a direct conversation! If there is an issue Bonnie would like to be aware rather than lied too. She’s super direct when she needs to be and I think it goes missed tbh.

People that liter— Bonnie would probably find people lazy who couldn’t just walk to a trash can or something!

Dislikes Abandonment—because it presses on feelings she’d rather suppress. Questioning if she is good or not isn’t something Bonnie wants to do.
