shin yuji performing at hongdae’s halloween boobash w/ lime entertainment !!

yuji wonders if she’s taking this a bit too seriously.

is she? it’s her first public performance during her probationary contract-- where they’re in front of crowds. why wouldn’t yuji take it seriously? she’s not like the older trainees, who’ve had time to establish their place in the company. she’s just...a test ride, essentially. she’s sure her performance in the boobash pop up concerts is going to effect whether or not she’s signed at the end of the probationary contract. there’s going to be a review after. so, yeah. maybe she’s taking it a little too seriously, but she’ll deal with that in post-- once the performance is done and out of the way.

having to remember four dances in five weeks is a little chaotic, especially to someone who had barely attempted any sort of dance. the vocal parts are hard enough, with yuji’s perfectionist qualities; it’s even worse with the dancing. her nerves are on fire when they’re preparing for the first set-- and no matter how many times she and daeun give each other peptalks back and forth, she’s nervous. excited, but undoubtedly nervous.

but she’s got to put on a show. five times. at least she looks decent enough; fitting for the concept and cute enough that she won’t complain too much. she’d much rather have done something other than zombies (it’s still so...lackluster when she thinks about it), but at least it’s easy to pull off. 

after the first one, her nerves are still twitching. she’s exhausted but the adrenaline is keeping her moving, constant, consistently. her mind is moving a mile a minute, going through the choreo and vocal parts-- noting what she needs to work on, what she needs to be quicker at. reminds herself of the things eunae told her back at the lounge; applies that to her technique and it helps. she doesn’t fumble as badly anymore, which makes each performance a little easier to handle. 

she’s wearier after the third performance, and yuji wonders the pros and cons of taking a nap before the fourth one. she doesn’t, instead busies herself with checking her makeup and running through the sets again. grabs a snack and a drink, and the fourth performance she feels goes smoother than all the rest; it bodes well for the final, and at the end of it all-- yuji feels at least accomplished with it. 

she knows she could do better, but for now, she takes the win as is.

As was tradition, Sterling found a way to be in costume while still wearing a suit, much to the disappointment of everyone who had hoped to see him in anything other than a suit. He came in with Chen, the pair dressed as Gomez and Morticia Addams. Sterling had even drawn a pencil thin mustache on yo match his usual slicked back black hair which happened to worm perfectly for the costume anyway.

Sterling stepped away from Chen to get them both a drink from the punch bowl, leaving him alone and open to approach.

"okay okay, let's get this over with.." he'd returned from taking Lucky down to his old room to find the karaoke part of the evening in full swing. Even though Clint wasn't much of a drinker, a double bourbon was downed before he left to take his place at the mic, plus it helped a little with the vocals of his chosen song.

Sam pulled down the back of his costume and stepped out of the elevator, grinning as he saw Eira in full costume. “Ay! Look at you!” he said, completely ignoring his own appearance because if anyone can pull off feathered booty shorts-it’s Sam. 

(There’s a yellow feather boa around his neck.)

Despite promising everyone and her mother that she would take an easy the next few weeks, that didn’t stop Chen from having one last party out. It had taken some work to find a custom Moritica Addams gown that would fit her growing bump and she had probably made one too many shopping trips to find enough toys and clothing to donate for the kids, but it would all be worthwhile in the end.

She made sure to drop off their donations before parting ways with her Gomez, mildly eager to get a good look at where all the comfy chairs were. However, it wouldn’t be a night out with her if she didn’t poke a little fun at the love of her life. “So,” she said, tilting her head towards the direction her husband had wandered off to. “How many cups of punch before his little mustache disappears?”
