Yall so like, durgetash is so canon honestly (Im hella delulu and Gortash looks at Durge funny) and they’ve been living in my brain for no good reason. (I literally came back to tumblr after years for more content of these mfs) So lemme give you my head cannons and bits for the fic Im writing.
When the two actually get close and trust each other, they become *painfully* domestic. They’re each the only person the other truly cares for and trusts completely, and so they attach to the other really hard too. Which gets really funny when someone like Kethric or Orin, or gods forbid Bhaal or Bane are just watching in shock as the Chosen of the god of murder, and Chosen of the god of fucking tyranny, not so subtly giggling to each other over random nothings at what was supposed to be a very serious meeting, or, no, you’re not fucking slick, I saw the two of you holding hands in the meeting room, lie to me again and call yourselves ‘just allies’ again and see what happens. I feel like specifically Kethric would have the most massive fucking whiplash, because in public they’d go between generally not speaking to each other, or keeping up appearances and all that, to just like… married?? And when he finds out the two aren’t married, nor are they even really dating, he’s just so confused, and they drive him up the wall.
Not really a hc, bc Im pretty sure it is somewhat canon, but Bhaal hates Gortash, like, hates him hates him. At first he was *fine* with the whole allyship thing, it didn’t get in the way of Durge’s true purpose, and if he could personally screw up his enemy/frenemies Chosen in the process that’s awesome. Once Durge shows any semblance of compassion for the man tho, Bhaal is PISSED and he tries to force Durge to kill Gortash on several occasions.
Bhaal somewhat gave Orin the idea to put the tadpole in Durges head, to soft reset him in a way.
Bane likes Durgetash sort of, definitely more than Bhaal. Mainly the idea of ‘ruining’ Bhaals favorite kid and using Gortash to make him rebel SENDS HIM.
Bhaal originally wanted Durge to murder Orin, but later decided against it when Durge proved Orin useful. The two never had a *great* relationship after that, Orin carried plenty of resentment for Durge due to him being the favorite, and neither being very accepting of her art. Still, this served as a small sliver of proof for Durge that he can push back against his father’s wishes.
I have so many more but most of them are more specific to my Durge, Rhyse, and require more context.

I’ve been rewatching ST and good lord some of the noises Steve makes?? are bordering on pornographic?! After he fights that russian dude? whenever he runs or exhausts himself? After Eddie had him pinned to the wall?? Maaan, Eddie would love that shit.
anon, you’re the first person to ever send nsfw steddie thoughts to my inbox, I LOVE YOU FOR THAT <333 (and to anyone else who sees this pls don’t ever hesitate to do the same, i’m literally never not thinking about nsfw steddie)
but omg you couldn’t be more right. that boy moans and groans and sighs non-stop. i seriously can’t with all his little breathy noises, steve truly makes my brain melttt. and yes ! eddie so wishes he could hear more. it must have killed him to hear/watch steve groaning and throwing his hands in his hair after fighting with the demobats and getting patched up by nancy. i’m sure his thoughts were all over the place.
also like when eddie fucks him real good, steve definitely goes nonverbal and just whimpers/mewls at every little touch. which is exactly why eddie loves to overstimulate him/get him deep into subspace. he lives for those moments where steve is just a mess of moans and tears and cum. spilling over again and again from just how sensitive he is as eddie pounds him into the mattress.

What I keep attempting to write: Kim Kitsuragi is a truly amazing character and I love him, both from a character standpoint and how he works as a game mechanic in Disco Elysium. Harry is an absolutely deteriorating wreck and Kim serves as a perfect counterweight, but their relationship is not an uneven one. Kim makes it perfectly clear that he would ditch your sad sorry ass in a heartbeat if you crossed the line with him. You can toe that line, sure, but he has his limits and he's not just some unflinching sidekick who never pushes back. He doesn't just put up with your shit, it's clear that he respects you as a fellow officer, particularly after he finds out about your case solving track record. There is an unspoken devotion there, of one officer to another, of two outsiders to each other, of two men out of their depth in a town that hates them on a case that's mostly a pissing contest between their respective precincts. Kim sticks by Harry (and MY Harry at the very least stuck by Kim). Kim is both an unrepentant spoilsport and very silly. He has a level of control that is unparalleled, but you can make him give in and go along with your tomfoolery. He tosses out quips in complete deadpan. He jokes with such utter sincerity. Kim is, if nothing else, committed to the bit. Kim from the outside is such an average man, but he becomes this rock to Harry, someone who is so put together ( or at least appears to be) it contrasts so completely against our utter wreck of a player character; he becomes a source of stability. We may not know where we are and who we were/are, but Kim will always be Kim, and we can count on him, rely on him even. It sets him up as this almost deified figure to the player character, someone on a whole different level of "has their shit together"ness that it's impressive. Kim is competent. Kim is smooth. Kim doesn't succeed at everything, but his failures pale in comparison to Harry's. And yet, despite all of this, it is incredibly clear that just on a personal level, Kim likes Harry. Harry is able to make Kim smile (even if they're just small smiles). Harry is able to suss things out about Kim that most people wouldn't notice, and it's clear that Kim likes the attention--at least when you're not begging him for secrets about himself. Kim is, at least in some small part, a bit attracted to Harry. Kim is canonically gay. Kim is such a huge part of Disco Elysium to me that as much as I love the rest of the game, it falls away in comparison to the magnificence of one Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi.
What comes out: hnnngh Kim is the best I love him love of my life happy pride to Kim Kitsuragi only

if that hexsquad each piloted a voltron lion, who do you think would pilot each lion?
Aaah!! An opportunity to answer an ask that is about my two biggest brainrot shows! 😍
I remain here for VLD because of its premise, for what it stood for before Tim Hedrick - the Head of Story - got fucked over and had his show bible thrown out...Also coz Studio Mir~~
When you wanna compare the paladins to Hexsquad it's like, having to look at what element in nature each Lion stands for and also each witch's deepest wish. And how the characters with their traits would match with the traits that the Lions are looking for.
And I'll not only be referencing the new paladins, but also their predecessors: including perhaps the only redeemable thing about S8 which were the old paladins' speeches from the astral plane scenes.
And I'm obviously going with the S1 and S2 pilot configurations, not the post-Lion Switch config.
Starting with who will "form the head":
The Black Lion wants her pilot to learn about control and calmness, which is why she could go perfectly with Shiro's main conflict with his PTSD.
It works very well for Willow for this precise reason:
She and Shiro also share the habit of not wanting to rely on others to help them with their problems, i.e. wanting to stay strong and put up a constant front of portraying strength. We've seen how both characters behave when having panic attacks.
So lol, Willow in this universe wouldn't be using plant magic.
One might think that Yellow is the match for her after hearing her deepest wish:
And sure she could express the exact same wish if she were a Paladin...but the Black Lion would pick up on what her area of growth is i.e. the goal to be in control isn't a goal to be reached all on your own.
The Lions have their requirements, but they are sentient and can telepathically get a read of an individual's unique challenges and darkest fears. Being the Guardian Spirit representing the cosmos and sky, Black can go nicely with Willow's nurtured leadership qualities and her desire for strength and wisdom.
Next, the arms :
Red is definitely for Amity.
Red is the Lion that wants you to follow your instincts with determination, to defy what's expected or imposed on you if needed. (ah, but I hear you thinking...doesn't this fit Hunter as well? More on this later)
Look at the similarities between her and Keith's arcs:
Both were not entrusted with the space to explore what they wanted in life (imagine...Iverson *could've* been a parental figure for Keith, but he reflects how the education and foster care systems often are IRL), and were expected to fit into a box: which was to their detriment. They were determined to not let their inner fire be put out.
Bonus that they're also rather seasoned fighters, for their respective ages:
The Green Lion might choose Gus.
Being a user of illusion magic, Gus's arc has the theme of truth vs illusion, and Green wants a pilot who is curious and has a daring intellect. Who better than the little guy who is curious to know all there is about the human realm, who wants to see what is out there beyond the Isles. Green is best for stealth operations and Gus would be a natural at that, he'd be the best tech guy too!
His deepest wish nicely matches the realization that Pidge had after she met the Olkari: about being connected to the universe and to everything in it (that's what the Forest element symbolizes via the whole "network of roots and branches" concept, which also reflects the imagery of the nervous system linked to the brain. Both Pidge and Gus are prodigies/geniuses).
And having an ambassador role can't really be carried out from the safety and comfort of hiding in your comfort zone of one's insecurity:
Finally, the legs:
I vote Blue for Luz because her deepest wish:
goes so well with this exact line from Blaytz, Lance's predecessor (when we finally hear about what the Blue Lion represents):
Blue is the teamwork lion, kind of the opposite of Green. Easygoing, bold and spontaneous like water. And it's no coincidence that she's the friendliest lion.
Luz can befriend anyone because of her extraordinary empathy and I have good reason to suspect this was also the intended arc for Lance...:
Yellow is the morale lion, sort of the opposite of Red.
BUT! Hunter is very interesting since, at least to me, he embodies both Red and Yellow traits which at first glance are *supposed* to be in conflict with one another (this is a sign that he is magnificently well-written. Sorry Keith and Hunk and everyone in the space show, beyond S3 :'D).
I mean c'mon, look at my two kiddos:
It's really important to note that Hunter and Amity's deepest wishes are essentially the same. Which is why it's also easy for me to visualize Hunter piloting Red.
But it's kinda unmistakable: the writers wanted us to see that Hunter's strength is his kind, loving heart (Yellow paladin traits).
His courage and determination (Red paladin traits)
are only the next priority and exist to make the case for his kind heart, in my opinion. Because he wants to live, not just survive...in order to keep learning and giving and loving, to basically remain in a relationship with the world instead of being in isolation.
It's also a bit eerie that Yellow is the Guardian Spirit of Earth/Land, and well..a certain grimwalker was literally grown out of the earth. Hmm........
And wowzah if you look here:
it's a contrast to the Golden Guard being Belos's instrument to keep the Isles as divided as possible, under the guise of promoting unity, with Belos even going as far as coining a name like "The Day of Unity"...during which he wanted to carry out a plan of causing even more major division among the people of the Boiling Isles, via literal genocide.
Yeah, yikes. Hunter's future in palisman-carving certainly brings unity born out of love, opposing Belos's forces of division born out of fear. Gyrgan is right in what he says above: unity is born from love.
Anyway this sweet child can really feel like both Keith and Hunk combined into one character. Sometimes he recklessly charges ahead, sometimes he's very nervous about a ton of things. He manages to be the pathetic wet cat but also the most huggable warm teddy bear, lmao.
But if he had been brought up in a healthy and loving home - which is what Hunk had:
him as Yellow's choice would be crystal clear.
Thank goodness Hunter DOES end up in this place though, surrounded by the best found family!
PS: Moringmark had a different configuration for who would pilot who, he just based it on matching colour codes haha (link)

on: venti's ring
(spoilers for proposal audio utc, apologies in advance for the messy rambles, i need to fucking sleep but venti keeps me awake)
OKAY SO venti basically just mentions it being some sort of intricate spell that, once you accept, allows him to have the one thing he wants most—to always be by your side no matter what universe or time it is, right?
i have a thought, a realization, a theory, that perhaps,
what venti's doing is some sort of red string shit
he mentions it being really complicated and that he "might have broken a few rules" with what he did to that ring
and the reason it's so hard for him to do and not allowed is because hes forging his own fate and yours, tying your fates together, potentially rewriting what may have already been written out by the universe for both of you
something like, potentially defying what fate already set out for both of you, as individuals and as a couple
and by you accepting this, you accept that you'll always stay tied to him no matter what happens to you or him, in any universe that exists.
you'd be rewriting not only your fate in this timeline, but also of the other times
evidence to support my theory: idol au aquarium date
he mentions the iconic lines ("like the winds to the sea~"), and says that it's a little strange that he just said that, and that it felt familiar for him somehow, like he said it once before
on top of that, windblume hardly reacts to it
maybe it's a bit of a reach considering it's hard to say anything about windblume, bc they're silent and they're supposed to be us
but they hardly really... react to it, when he mentions it
venti brushes it off himself and mentions nothing of note that windblume says or does, so do you think maybe,, windblume remembers their time with venti in the current timeline?
if i had to make a guess, we remember more because we're the ones wearing the funky magic ring and that's what's helping us remember...?
oooor maybe im reading too into this and i really do just need to sleep . take this theory as you will . happy engagement to all of us mwah mwah kiss venti lots goodnight
