For national muffin day I am reposting one of my favorites! I talk about dairy allergies and my children - but the only food I personally am allergic to is strawberries. I can touch them, as long as I wash my hands well after - I just can’t ingest them at all or I’ll react. It was weird to make a muffin I couldn’t taste - especially when it was a new recipe. Was it sweet enough, too dense? Is there anything I would change about the recipe? BREAKFAST as the name says is 'breaking your fast from the night before'. Thus it is the first and the most important meal of the day. Probably the most appealing benefit is that breakfast jumpstarts your metabolism and, thus, helps you burn more calories throughout the day. So why skip it ? As a kid, my mom would never let me leave home without breakfast. And also it does not mean just having a glass of milk or biscuits, but a proper meal with varieties like poha, upma, dosa, idli, paratha, bread etc. along with a glass of milk or fruit shakes. I hated it that time as i was rushing for school or college and i was compelled to finish my food before leaving. I realised its benefits when i started living on my own and i am so grateful to mom that she put this habit in me. #breakfast ##day9 " Pancakes " " Recipe: 1 ½ cups all purpose Flour, 3 ½ teaspoons Baking Powder, 1 teaspoon Salt, 1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar, 1 ¼ cups milk, 1 Egg 3 tablespoons melted Butter. " In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a dent in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot. Serve with maple syrup/honey or chocolate syrup.
