Camp Half Blood Schedule

As of now I have 14 pages for the schedule and describing stuff and activities and it’s all mush, my brain is mush and please I want to go home and see my family 🥺😭😭

In all reality this is a combination of procrastinating reading Tower of Nero because all the characters I really care about have been drop kicked out of the narrative and I’m at my grandparents house. I have nothing to do and I have a horrible sense of time so let’s get into this (plus sometime down the line I’ll go over HoO re-imagining like. Camp Jupiter processes but I’m reading some books about the Roman legion so I’m gonna, tough that out and then report back lol)

Disclaimer!! I don’t know what time is, time is something that eludes my brain and the only summer camp I’ve been to was a Christian one with a foster family because I was bored that summer and I said why not (I’m not Christian but it was funny). Also I like completely forgot if there is anything in the books that actually have schedule lore. I forgot most things with CHB to be honest.

So anyways, actual meat and potatoes

7:30- wake up and get ready. Yes 7:30 sounds reasonable to me. It gives the kids 30 minutes before breakfast and campers can wake up before the ‘official’ time.

On Fridays we have cabin inspections, dictated by the arbitrary ‘one day we picked someone to do it first and now we’re on a rotation’.

8:00-8:30; breakfast time, yes you only get 30 minutes for breakfast we have things to do and does it take you more than 30 minutes to gobble up breakfast? (No judgement it took me 2 hours to eat lunch one time) but If I ever let the other 13+ pages of notes come to light they’ll be more in depth stuff about. Everything, but breakfast time includes

- one cabin setting up the Dining Pavilion

-Everyone offering to the Gods

-Morning announcements!

-yum actually eat food

-plate staking/cleaning up the tables

8:30-10:00; the first activity. The activities are your going to the arena, or the forge, all that jazz. Uh, there’s a board in the Big House where counselors set up the schedules (as in signing up for activities n stuff and coordinating) I’ll get into it someday. Maybe.

10:00-12:00; Activity 2/downtime. Because pinky swear just chilling is an activity. Downtime is important. I wrote down that cabins can sign for the same thing back to back if they so wish. Also the rules are looser than the words clinging onto my brain so really anything happens. It’s CHB they laugh in the face of a rule.

12:00-12:30; Lunch time. Nothing special about it. Uh ,:3

12:30-2:00; third activity. Action packed days for the win!

2:00-4:00; fourth activity time. Also probably when most of the campers start cabin revolts. No one agrees on a schedule most of the time.

4:00-4:30; actual specific free time. Some moments to gather round and chill out. You’ve already spent most of your day, doing something.

4:30-5:30; activity 5. Most of the time this can just be a continuation of the free time.

Don’t ask me what those extra 10 minutes are for no one really ever knows

After 6 o’ clock no one is allowed on the lake. Sorry man

6:00; also the beginning of Dinner. Dinner goes as planned, usually with some Camp wide event happening because of course. Can’t have good stuff here at camp/j

7:00; Camp Sing-a-long times!

7:30-8:00; your stuck in the Cabin circle but at least you get those last few minutes to hang out without the threat of harpies later in the night.

8:00; all campers enter cabins for like getting ready to go to bed and stuff. Get your last conversations in

8:30; official curfew is in effect. No one can leave the cabins except for counselors who need to plan the next day because they aren’t planning their full week on Sunday.

I have notes also on like. Everything else ,:3 Chiron gets lessons and the Cabins have to do those and stuff. Sorry I haven’t been, posting long posts like this for a while lol. I’ll probably get some HoO re-imagined Camp Jupiter content out once I finish this one book I’m reading and have my CJ notebook (yes I do have a whole notebook dedicated to CJ there’s my fun fact). Also, at some point I’d like to introduce Charlico (Chiron’s WIFE) to CHB if possible. Love you Charlico/j

Okay ,:3 I think I sound a little delirious, tomorrow I have to get on a plane and after that I have to go stay a week at someone else’s place. I’ll see all of you soon to talk about the forge or something. Or maybe I’ll finally get my master lists all sorted out and stuff lol.

because i’m too impatient to not share some of my fic, here’s the moment bryce first sees clark. they’re both 17, competing at a cornhole comp for the first time, and bryce is currently dating a girl called melissa:

Stepping out of Iowa’s minibus was a tall, lithe boy with scruffy brown hair. He rubbed his eyes before stretching like a dog awoken from a long nap, his teammates waiting impatiently on the steps behind him. Bryce could only assume that he’d just been asleep… and yet he looked so effortlessly good? His eyes matched the cerulean sea they’d passed as they entered Mountport. He had little black stud earrings. The May sunlight was highlighting the freckles dotted like a field of flowers across his face. He was… cute? Was that a thought he had now? That someone who isn’t Melissa - that a boy - is attractive? Huh. Interesting. After perhaps too long staring in the Iowan’s general direction, he parcelled up that idea and posted it to himself with the hope that it wouldn’t arrive until the tournament was done. You literally have a girlfriend, he repeated to himself, as he walked to the locker room.

CJ/Bryce fake dating + green eyed epiphany (I had to look up what that was because I had never heard of it before lol but now I know! Anyways)

So for this one im thinking one of them lost a bet or something. Because that's the only way I can think of that they'd be in this situation and still be NFL players (unless this is also a non NFL players au but meh) so roll with me here. They get invited to this party because that's also a part of the bet I guess.

Things are a little awkward at first. Yes, they've been friends since middle school. Shouldn't they just fall into their old routines? Eventually they do, but it takes time. This is the first time they've really been together since before the draft (CJ was off galavanting while Bryce had to put his nose to the grindstone). They try not to focus on their careers being the absolute antithesis of each other. Besides, CJ is seemingly overeager to play the role of Bryce's "boyfriend".

Now, CJ's always been the more tactile person in their relationship. Playfully pushing Bryce around at camps. Aggressively dabbing him up. Going in for one or two hugs and letting the last one linger a bit too long. So, when CJ's slinging his arm around Bryce's neck-a weight that's hauntingly familiar- it's nothing out of the ordinary. But, at the same time, it feels wildly different. Maybe it's because they're surrounded by people: teammates, friends, and strangers alike. Maybe it's because Bryce knows this is all for show. Either way, he can't quite put his finger on it.

Later on that night, they're cuddled up together on the couch. Once again CJ's arm has found itself looped around Bryce's shoulders. CJ is happily yammering on with his fellow party goers. Bryce focuses on CJ's voice, letting the rest of the noise fade into the background.

He feels his eyelids get heavy and he starts to go in and out of consciousness. He lays his head down on CJ's chest, nuzzling into his neck. Before he drifts off completely, CJ brings his head down and places a gentle kiss on Bryce's forehead. CJ's hand softly caresses his arm, threatening to make Bryce fall asleep even faster. Y'know. For the bit.

"aw, are you getting tired, B?" CJ says, a faint teasing tone to his voice. And that- more than the kiss, more than the arm caress- kick-starts something in Bryce's chest. Suddenly, he doesn't want this to be pretend anymore. He wants it to be real.

For what seems like half their lives, they've been intertwined in some way. Why not make it one more?

Bryce/Andy 27 & 80, sick/injured fic + innocent physical contact

There's been a bug going around the locker room. The O-line room, to be specific. But that doesn't stop Bryce from falling I'll with the same thing.

It starts with a cough after their last game of the season. It was good they were able to leave things on such a high note because now? Now, Bryce is wondering what that feels like because he's stuck in this hell.

The bedsheets stab at his skin and make it feel like he's burning alive, so he casts them aside in the hopes that it'd bring him some relief. There's a dull ache in his skull, the beginnings of headache forming. His joints are sore and seem like they're swollen, even if they don't look like it. Bryce swallows experimentally; no pain follows. Well, at least he's spared that.

He finishes cataloging his symptoms and pries himself off the bed. Bryce's shifting causes Andy to move. The older man mumbles something in his sleep but otherwise seems undisturbed. Seeing him settle, Bryce turns and gingerly pads to the bathroom. Each step causes his the ache in his muscles to deepen, but he pushes onward.

Eventually, he clambers back into bed. He covers himself with only the top sheet. Anything more and he's convinced he'll actually burn alive. It takes awhile for him to get comfortable, but sleep manages to overtake him.

It feels like no time at all has passed when suddenly he's being shaken awake by Andy. Blearily, Bryce opens his eyes. What greets him is Andy leering over him, concern etched on his face. Fire licks at his skin.

"Are you okay? You were groaning in your sleep," Andy says, the same concern that is on his face seeps into his voice.

"M'fine," Bryce mumbles back, covering his face with his forearm. The sunlight that's now streaming into the room is making his eyes hurt.

"You sound like shit."

Bryce doesn't respond. He huffs and turns to lay on his side, hoping to go back to sleep- however fitful it might be. Andy decides he doesn't like that nonanswer and flips the younger man over so he's on his back again.

"Hey! What the-" Bryce is cut off as the cooling sensation of the back of Andy's hand on his forehead gives him the relief he's been craving. A contented sigh leaves his throat as he leans into Andy's touch.

"Geez, Bryce, you're burning up," the older man comments, moving his hand around Bryce's face. "You must've been this way for hours... Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Cuz I didn't wanna wake you."

"C'mon, Kid," Andy sighs. He removes his hand from Bryce's skin and gets up. Bryce almost wants to whine at the loss of contact.

Andy comes back a few minutes later with some pills and a glass of water. Bryce props himself up and dutifully takes the Tylenol from Andy. He pops them into his mouth and takes a swig of water. He quickly downs the whole glass without even realizing it.

"Alright, easy there tiger," Andy chuckles as Bryce wipes the remaining drops from his lips. Andy moves to his side of the bed and climbs in. He then opens his arms, an invitation for Bryce to come closer.

Bryce accepts the offer, shifting over to Andy's side. The older man encapsulates him in a hug and they slide deeper under the covers. Bryce lays his hand down on Andy's chest. His steady heartbeat lulls him to sleep.

Listen. I had fun the last time, so i'm gonna leave here another list of my Riordanverse unpopular opinions/hot takes. I hope no one is gonna cancel me:

- Throwing every single female character in the hunters is lazy writing and kinda OOC for Reyna;

- The Cupid scene is disgusting and the fact that it was made by a queer god makes it even worse;

- Jason and Nico's friendship >>> Percy and Jason's friendship. Nico and Jason were more foils than the latter and Percy will ever be;

- Leo and Nico should have been friends, and the fact that Leo was so scarred of him in HoO is wasted potential;

- Today Percy is basically the not-so-unconfirmed most powerful demigod BUT both Nico and Hazel have the potential to being more powerful than him. However, since Percy is based on Rick's own son he refuses to elaborate on it;

- Actually GROVER is Percy's best friend, not Jason, and in HoO Annabeth and Piper had a more "kinda homoerotic bromance" going on than their boyfriends ever had;

- Aside from that, Jason is clearly alive. Trow that ToA scene away;

- Nico killing Bryce Lawrence is both the most terrifying and the best scene in both PJo and HoO;

- It would have been better if Hazel and Frank were friends-crushingoneachother during HoO and started dating in ToA;

- Riordan's amatonormativity wasted the potential of many characters (like Nico and Leo) and the potential of many friendships;

- Caleo is acceptable in HoO but in ToA it fucking sucks;

- Actually it would have been interesting if Calypso discovered herself as a lesbian during ToA OR in a possible Leo's standalone novel;

- In terms of capabilities, storylines and roles in the plot Percy, Annabeth, Nico, Hazel and Reyna are Riordan's most badass characters. Others (mostly Thalia, Jason and Piper) have the potential but are underdeveloped;

- And that in my opinion is HoO biggest problem: the series has many new interesting characters (Hazel, Leo, Reyna, Jason) but they are underdeveloped in favor of 1) romance and 2) Percabeth being in the major spotlight;

- I have mixed feeling about Percy and Annabeth being part of the Seven;

- Fierrochase >>>>> Solangelo;

- Tsats is utter dogshit and it is REALLY hard to consider it canon;

- Canon Solangelo is ableist and the fact that a big part of the fandom has no problem with it is kinda disturbing. Also some fanon solangelo contents are ableist as well and it is partly RR's fault;

- The fandom basically wrote and characterized Will Solace's character. Neither Riordan or Mark Oshiro give a fuck about him, and problably that's NOT gonna improve in the Tsats sequel;

- Accusing people who don't like solangelo and/or Tsats of homophobia is like the dumbest take ever;

- RR's representation characters are a concentration of stereotypes;

- It would have been better if Piper had her self-discovering - queer storyline from the beginning of HoO. It would have made her more interesting and relatable;

- Even more, it would have been more interesting if Piper had her queer-reveal storyline in HoO THANKS to her not-so-straight chemistry with Annabeth;

- Making Nico a overly morally correct/morally "pure" character makes him less interesting;

- CJ >>> CHB;

- Nico should be a rough demigod;

- It is heavily implied that the majority of CHB STILL doesn't like Nico and they only "tolerate" him because they like Will;

- Bisexual Jason is better and makes more sense than bisexual Percy. Jason's arc is basically a metaphor of bisexuality;

- It makes me sad how RR basically throw away every other Nico's beautiful relationships (with Jason, Reyna, Hazel, even Percy..) in favor of solangelo. Nico WAS a complex and developed character, now he's kinda just "the gay one";

- With his latest works RR is ruining his own franchise;

- PJo>>>>>>MG>>>ToA>>HoO;

this one is so sweet and a bit angsty and just a really beautiful capture of who joe and ja'marr are to each other. it does deal with autistic joe, which i know can be a bit controversial on here, but i love it personally and the author does a fantastic job portraying it thoughtfully and beautifully.

this is just a little snippet for a fic ask game but honestly i loved it so much i wanna share it too (plus you get some bonus bryce/cj!) it's not very long but the HUG is long here and the author does such a good job of getting in joe's head here and it's just very sweet and funny. they're also working on another joe'marr college au fic that i'm super psyched for!
