Three bloops for the Kilveh royalty under the sun. Seven for the Teilhor gang in their halls of stone. Nine for Silver Serpents doomed to be my favourites. One for the Dark Lady in her dark throne, in the land of Characters, where the shadows lie. One bloop to rule them all, one bloop to find them, one bloop to bring them all and in the darkness bind them in the land of Characters where the shadows lie.
Is this a subtle not so subtle way of getting me to read LOTR? Cause erm *looks at bookshelf* it is still quite far :)) like I have 2 and a bit more rows of books until then :)).
*cracks knuckles*
The Kilveh royalty. Well that only means Mentris name might change of Regalia of Isled as they are the only actual royal at least for the moment
1. They are the youngest Kilveh to be appointed ruler in centuries, at somewhere between 100-150 years old.
2. They like to wear green and keep their short sword in the open as opposed to hidden under cloaks.
3. They are a bit of a flirt (?) not sure if in general, or just with Rio on the rare occasions they meet
The Teilhor gang:
1. Halvre - plays the guitar, or the Azlerian equivalent of a guitar, a string instrument of sorts and is quite good at it
2. Unnammed tree lady - is a teaser/trickster, despite her mother and sweet front
3. Lukares - can change his dimensions and appearance to those of a cutesy dragon plushie and has used that numerous times as a cover when visiting the other realms
4. Axel - is vain and likes to hear his own voice. However! Once he was once reduced to silence in a facetime group call because of a shirt Bolin was trying on
5. Sabinne likes to get on Gail’s nerves, but she is the first to shove a, metaphorical or not, punch in anyone throat if they say anything bad about her adoptive father. I have a feeling she even tore into Niall a few times when the two men first started dating
6. Sabinne met Axel’s look alike yey for recycling RP characters and she did a giant double take since Hector is basically Axel but short, with curly hair and prescription glasses instead of prescription sunglasses
7. Bolin has been living in Oxford for 6-8 years, he came with a bare minimum knowledge of English. He learned in the meantime, but since his workaholic mind was more focused on dancing, he often makes mistakes, gets confused by slang (being friends with Sabinne helped with that a bit) and if he is tired his speech gets slurred and 3 out of 5 words are in Mandarin.
Silver Serpent
1. Buach, the big bad serial killer, has a lamb as a companion. He found him tied to a tree while on a drive, took him in and named him Fearan.
2. Valen bought Tarioush, when he was still a teenager and started living with them, a bunny plushie that has a heartbeat and is sensory. It helped with his nightmares
3. Osgar hired a known, let’s call him dangerous, hacker for cyber security. The hacker goes by Fiver and it took Osgar years to figure out that the soft spoken, almost invisible cyber security dude, Ryo, is behind Fiver. Now Osgar has to hide a smile whenever Tarioush comes home raging about Fiver
T: How can he use his name like that! Richard Adams is turning in his grave! Fuckying bastard!
O: They’ll catch him, honey, he is slippery, but not that slippery.
*texting Ryo in an encrypted program* What did you do? News reached Tari again...
4. Elise used to play very roughly with one of her older brothers when she was little. The other brother watched from the sidelines and ready to mend broken bones case Elise could never control her strength.
5. One branch of the Matsuda family in Japan owns a chain bookstore called Akumu, which makes the actual Akumu very proud. The store has a goth aesthetic and they sell everything alternative, including band merch so they are not really just a bookstore :)).
6. Although he is not allowed to, Takeru goes with Vincent to his therapy sessions. He sits in the waiting room: book in hand, headphones to the max. It took doctor Jung’s assistant a few encounters to figure out that she can’t make him leave.
7. Vince goes through a pack of cigarettes a day, or one every two days. Not because he is that much of a heavy smoker, but because he has a habit of keeping an unlit cigarette in his mouth until he ruins it
8. Mary owns a clothing line in America where she is from. She often has to travel there to make sure things are going according to plan which annoys her as she has, in her mind, more important stuff to do in Glasgow
9. Nathair is perceived as a he by Elise, a she by Tarioush and Vincent and as a they by Valen. Nathair does not care for any of the pronouns as he is from a time when such things were irrelevant. By contrast, Akumu hates being misgendered, he claims HE, despite looking like a blob of dark smoke with red eyes. Only his voice (ashy, whispery and overall creepy) makes him sound slightly make hhim sound slightly male.
Dark Lady aka Lady Death from Silver Serpent
Lady Death is a title more than a person. The current Lady Death is ancient yes (not as ancient as Nathair, that snake is ooooollllldddddd) but there have been others before her and there will be others after. Since it a fixed title, the gender of the person using it does not matter.

Right back at you for the tag game: 6, 26, 43.
Hullo and thank you for the ask. I got to explore Buach a bit, yey!
I will trigger warn this: grief induce phisical violence ( a hard slap in this case) in the first paragraph
6. illusion
26. how dare you
43. undone
“How dare you!” he yelled voice tight with grief and anger, the words a murky charcoal. “How fucking dare you!” His right hand rose suddenly, backhanding the girl across the face. She let out but a small whimper and turned back to face him, eyes swimming in a pool of tears, her face red, blotchy and dirty. She had been crying way before he came in the room. “Get out!” he growled pointing to the door. “Get the fuck out of here! You’ve done enough!”
She got up from the bed making no gesture to dry her eyes. She was quite younger than him, still a child, but taller. Her height did not give her any advantage this time. She brushed past him, quiet, her expression a mask of unspoked guilt and sorrow. She stopped by the door, and turned towards him, her mouth open.
“You were too harsh back then, Buach, still are!”
The voice was soft, a whisper in the wind tingling his right ear. Buach blinked, distracted from observing the illusion in front of him, a manifestation of one of his memories this time. He waved his hand around to make it disappear, the image of the younger version of himself and the girl drifted away like smoke at his touch. He let out a small content sigh, leaning into to gentle touch on his right shoulder. “She deserves it and you know it!” he murmured back to the voice, his own tone not admitting any kind of arguments. They’d had this discussion before, many times before.
“Buach!”
The second voice was sharp bordering on demanding. Buach dragged his hand thrugh his long dark locks and reached down to pet the lamb playing by his chair. He turned to his left, already missing the whisper’s warm touch. “What is it, Mary?” he asked pleasantly, his voice considerably lighter than how he actually felt.
Mary stood with her back straight, delicate, long red finger nails tapping the door frame. Her brows furrowed in confused looked strange on her, although he was seeing them like that more often. “Who were you… never mind!” she shook her head, no strand of her escaping her perfectly arranged bun. “The hallucination on the hacker, I want it undone… please!” she finished politely for safe measure, masking the clear order.
Buach scrunched up his nose, but he got up from the cushioned cherry wood chair. “You have a new use for him then?” he asked conversationally without actually looking at her, but somewhere to his right where the lamb had stopped walking and was happily stomping her front hooves.
Send me a micro story prompt
Criticism is always welcomed.

Happy MAGM, love! Wishing you the most wonderful day! For OC of your choosing: What childhood experience (good or bad) inspired you the most to be the person you are today? 🖤Mrs-Raven-Writes🖤
Hullo and happy MAGM, love ^^ hope you have a wonderful day as well. This turned out longer than I expected and witha few sad elements oops.
TW: mentions of homophobia
Buach: I have a story for that *smirks*
Gloria R.: No you don’t! You were an adult when that happened! Go back to your plotting, research, brooding and please walk Fearan more often, he is a lamb not a dog!
Buach: *mumble grumble*
Gloria R.: Phew... Tari, Elise! Have at it!
Tarioush: Okay, so, I think the day it finally clicked in I am gay could be considered a good option, right?
Elise: I was there and you are still the same mess.
Tarioush: Am I? *blinks in confusion*
Osgar *walks by and plants a small kiss on Tari’s lips* I can attest to that
Tarioush *keeps staring after his husband fascinated, imaginary tail wagging*
Elise: *has the intention of bringing Tari back to reality then decides against it* *clears throat* He used to have this giant crush on my sibling when we were like 12. This... The staring, the blushing, the puppy giddiness, those were the norm. The fact that they (the sibling) did not catch on is a mystery. Or they could’ve just pretended, meh. *nudges me* Can you provide an example?
Gloria R. *massages shoulder* auch... strength check? like I cannot handle you the way everybody else can. Example here
Elise: I grab him one day and confront him and he gets all confused and scared cause... well... Do you wanna tell this part *shakes Tari’s shoulder*
Tarioush: Yeah, I... can *gulps* *takes a deep breath* My family are very religious and conservative Muslims and I was like that as well at that age. *waits a bit* I taught I was going to go to hell, that I was committing something atrocious just by existing and... *bites lips, leg shaking intensifies*
Elise *puts arms around Tari* Okay, I’ll take over. He was a full blown mess, cried in my arms for quite a while. My siblings and Eimer got so worried. We did not want to let him go home that night so we organised an impromptu sleepover so he could calm down. We stayed up most of the night, to show him that it was okay. I was questioning stuff as well, one my sibling had been out for a few years already and shared a lot of stories from their experience. The crush was never actually addressed.
Tarioush: That would have been mortifying *hides a smile and leans on Elise’s shoulder*
Elise: Feeling better? No panic attack in sight?
Tarioush: Aye. But you can go on.
Elise: There is not much more to tell. I mean, you started spending more and more time at my house, learning. It took us a while to get all the anti lgbt+ propaganda out of your head. There was a lot of exploration and excited teleportation. Sometimes those were fun, other times well... I almost threw things at his head cause when someone zaps constantly around the room while you’re trying to focus... well

Happy STS! Which one of your characters would be the one trying to catch the bus they just missed? Which one of them would be the driver that keeps going even though they saw them? Which one is recording everything through their phone?
Hullo and happy STS! Thank you for the ask ^^’
I almost said Tarioush for the first one... but then I realised that Tari can teleport so catching the buss is never a problem for him. I’ll go with Elise then, she would be running after that thing cursing and threatening to break it in halp with a punch... which she kind of can do... the would decide to just run to her destinationd and use that as extra training :)).
The driver would be either Buach, who is one of my villains, because he is the type of person to do that, initially as a joke but then it quicky turns serious. Vincent might do that as well, but use it as on oportunity to train Elise’s speed and endurance.
The one... or better said ones recording are Valen with a proud cheering Tarioush besides them :))). Both of them know Elise would never be too mad at them if they were to do this, so they would be all over that.

Your antagonist(s) walk into a room with the thing they want most in it. What is that thing
Hullo and thank you for the ask, Marie ^^
For Buach it has to be stacks of spell books and scrolls because he wants to develop a new ability and studies every book on it he can find.
Mary has two desires that work hand in hand: a leash that can subjugate [redacted] whom she perceives as the only impediment in her and [redacted] relationship. The second thing would be a potion to make [redacted] compliant and stop trying to get away from her.

The Cafe Test
A Characterisation Exercise
I was tagged by @inexorableblob thank youuu!
This will help quite a lot actually since I am planning a scene/chapter in which my villains are in a cafe. I am going to do it from their perspective. Now, I do not have a name for the accomplice yet because I am still searching for the one that fits her just right, so she is gonna be The Accomplice for the time being.
Did they get a cafe they liked? What kind of cafe do they like? What does that say about their character? (Is it arty? Sparse? Utilitarian? Hipster? Friendly? Rustic? Empty? Full?)
Buach: He chose it so he likes it a lot. It’s not that known, but not small. The tables are well separated, but it still has a cozy feeling thanks to the decor and the smell of freshly brewed coffee, homemade cakes and different tea flavors. It’s generally quiet, so Buach can work on his research without being disturbed. He has a favorite table there, towards the back, as far from the window as possible.
The Accomplice: She dislikes the cafes Buach goes to. They are too quiet for her taste and don’t have enough people. She doesn’t like small businesses and prefers the ones run by big names, especially the ones in malls. The more people, the better. So she goes to places such as Starbucks, Paul and Gloria Jean. She wants to be seen and doesn’t care if the products are expensive.
1. Where do they sit? (Near the door because there’s an exit? Near the back to hide? Where it’s shadowy? Where they’ll be seen by a waiter? Lots of table space for writing/drawing/hands? Minimal space? Would they ever sit with others? What do these things say about their character?)
Buach: Near the back in the shadows. He needs all the space he can get. He might use to tables if available, spread his books, notes and laptop. He sits alone because he is here to work not socialize. He always the seat next to him empty, nothing on the chair and nothing on the table directly in front of it.This says that he is pretty reclusive and likes his work more than the people he might interact with.
The Accomplice: She sits somewhere in the center or near the door, anywhere she can be seen by the waiter anybody else. She would take up a whole big party table, although she doesn’t really need it since she generally has only he laptop and drink to worry about. Depending on her mood she would sit with others, but if somebody sits at the table she is already occupying she will, diplomatically, make them leave. This says that she likes receiving attention a lot and likes being observed and in control.
3. What do they order? (Is it sweet? Is it focused on hydration only? Is it expensive? (Can they afford it if it is?) Is it milky and warm? Is it to wake them up? To comfort them like a hot cocoa? Does it bring back memories? Do they get a drink connected to other people in their lives?)
Buach: He gets Irish Coffee most of the time. The coffee in the drink wakes him up and keeps him focused and the whiskey reminds him of home. When he is not in the mood for that he will get a rooibos tea with coconut and chocolate or a lemonade with ginger and a lot of mint because he wants to commemorate someone through the drinks.
The Accomplice: She gets the either the newest thing on the menu or she will convince the barista to make her a complicated drink of her own invention. If she will feel generous she will order the most expensive item on the menu, but that rarely happens. She doesn’t like milk or cream. She is partly okay with vegan milk for the added favor. She cares only about the taste, not the feelings a certain beverage might invoke. If she wants to wake up she will get a large black coffee, no sugar or milk and with as many shots of espresso as possible.
3. If they get a snack, what do they get? (See above for similar questions to ask. Another good one is: Are they allergic to anything? Are there health concerns? Do they have to worry about their digestion for any reason? Or is their stomach made of steel?)
Buach: He generally has a slice of cake or some cookies with his first drink. He likes them warm and not particularly sweet.
The Accomplice: She might have something with fruit, like a small salad. If she is the mood she might get a carrot cake or an apple cake, but not that often since she thinks that her husband makes the best cakes.
4. How do they pay? (Are they rich? Poor? Do they count their pennies or do they throw a whole bunch of gold on the table? Or are they rich and stingy, counting their pennies because that’s how they got rich in the first place? Do they run out without paying? Do they not give a shit about the law? Are they desperate for a feed and want to pay but just can’t?)
Buach: He pays cash. He gets a bit worried sometimes since most of his money comes from his Accomplice and he doesn’t want to depend that much on her.
The Accomplice: She looks at the price, shrugs and takes out her card.
5. How do they interact with staff? (No eye contact? Lots of smiles? Friendly banter? Awkward conversation?)
Buach: It depends on his mood. Sometimes he is charming and friendly with everybody, other times he is cold and morose, but they got used to him since he is a regular at this point.
The Accomplice: She is charming in a commanding sort of way. She is friendly with the staff, but cold and most often than not exhibits a “you are here to serve me “ kind of attitude.

Lethal Line Tag
Guide: Answer these questions for whatever characters you want, then tag some people.
Tagged by @inexorableblob whose gang gives me chills and I love them!
I’m going to do this for Buach and Mary.
Have you ever killed someone? Who? Why?
Buach: *counts* Was it twenty or twenty - one, or nineteen. Somewhere around those numbers. I din’t waste brain cells on memorizing their names. As for for the reason *smirks* they had something I needed and I took it.
Mary: Me? Never?! How dare you accuse me of such a thing! Apologize! Now! *rolls eyes* okay, fine, maybe I did, indirectly! For reasons that are mine alone! Now go on, you are boring me!
How do you feel about it? Would you do it again, given the choice?
Buach: *shrungs and chuckles/looks to the side and frowns/mumbles* Oh? If you say so... *louder* Thought you were joking there. I did not care then, I don’t care now and yes *threatening glare* I will do it again, easy peasy! *smiles*
Mary: Do it again? I don’t know. If I have to then yeah, I’ll get someone to do it. It wasn’t as well done as I would have liked it to be. But what can you do, humans make error.
If yes - Do others know? Have you been punished for your deeds?
Buach: *glare intensifies, blue eyes darkening* Spent three years in prison, drugged and tied up, thanks to that bitch! *looks to the side again/calmer* Yes I know and I will keep calling a bitch a bitch. Stop fucking defending her!
Mary: *nods towards Buach* He knows, and my sweet, darling husband and no, I never get punished. Why would somebody be such a fool as to punish me. Ha!
In a fight, having the chance of a final, lethal strike, would you hesitate?
Buach: *grins* I don’t do close combat, but if I was forced to, then no, I will not hesitate... or she *moves head towards Mary* will make them kill themselves.
Mary: Excuse you, sir! I will not! So tasteless! I will have them stop and beg for forgiveness. Unnecessary killing is so... what’s his name’s style... the Chinese guy!
If you are a potential killer, do you have any rules? (No backstabbing, only bad guys, no children,…?)
Buach: No. Everything goes.
Mary: Oh, definitely no children! I can't stand their screams and all that crying and things coming out of them. Disgusting!
If you had the chance to murder your enemy and get away with it, would you do it?
Buach: Bold of you to assume I will get caught again. *smirks*
Mary: I have no enemies. Everybody likes me and wants to make me happy.

Storyteller Saturday! 💖 Let's give each of your ocs any pet they want! What is everyone's choice, and do you think they would actually be responsible enough to care for them?
Hullo and thankies for the ask, Quill!
Pet/companions are actually quite important in my wip and almost all my OCs have one. Since these companions have a strong bond with the humans, similar in some way with a witch’s familiar, my OCs already have the ones they want, well most of them.
Elise grew up raising snakes and although she doesn’t have one currently she has Nathair, but he doesn’t count because he is made of metal, not flesh and bone she wants one or several! She would take good care of them, maybe a bit too much even because she will tend to get overprotective and overbearing.
Tarioush’s wanted a bunny rabbit and his husband, Osgar, got him Fumi as a birthday present. They take turns taking care of it, but since Fumi is still young she gets into a lot of trouble around the house. Tari stopped taking her to work because she would run and chew on everything and bother the other companions because she wanted to play.
Osgar loves wolves! However, he will not be the best person to raise one. He would spoil him rotten, feed him way to much and will get extra overprotective even when the wolf if a full grown adult.
Takeru’s favorite pet would be a squirrel. He has a peregrine falcon now, which he is still learning how to take care of He had one for ten years, a grey and red one which he named Kiku. It was a mess! Kiku figured out how to get out of her cage and she used to steal small objects in his room and hide them. She had gotten out of his room numerous times because he left the windows wide open.
Vincent would like something big and strong, a panther or a snow leopard. He has a dog now and he takes a lot of care of him. With a big cat however, ho would not do so great, at least in the beginning. Feeding would be pretty irregular, he would let him free at the office, which is not really that dangerous because he is the head of a department, so he has his own private office. However, he would not feel comfortable putting a collar and a leash on the animal anyway, so that would scare quite a few people. So yeah, until he finalli figures out the ins and outs, it would be a mess.
Ingrid’s favorite pet is the Norwegian Forest Cat. She has one now named Freya. She takes the cat with her everywhere she goes and always checks to make sure everything is all right with her. Her mother’s instinct extended towards Freya as well so she knows what she is doing in educating and raising her.
Buach doesn’t want a pet, but if he has to, he would go for a baby lamb. He would dot on that baby and make sure he has everything he needs. He would pull all nighters researching and making sure he does everything right!
And then there’s Mary… we do not give Mary pets! She would be absolutely awful with them! Not because she is irresponsible, she just doesn’t care for them and would treat them as an inconvenience in her life. She has a history of “accidentally” hurting animals before, especially if she thinks they stand in the way of what/who she wants.
This turned out way longer than intended! I know most f the ones mentioned aren’t even pets, but wild animals :)) sorry about that!

Happy MGM from writingamongthecoloredroses! Are any of your OCs bothered by blood/gore? Is murder a solution?
Hullo and happy MAGM and thank you for the ask @writingamongthecoloredroses
Buach: Blood and gore are necessary and so is murder. You have to do what you have to do. Necromancy is not done by snapping your fingers. There is a lot of sacrifices to be made. Revenge also entrails sacrifices. The bitch has to pay for what she has done.
Mary: Blood can be used in sex. My husband likes it a lot *smiles*
Buach: *squints* I am pretty sure those screams meant something else.
Mary: Oh, no! That is just him being a bit whinny until he readjusts. He always does that.

HAPPY STS!!! Are there any cultural references that highly influence your writing?
Hullo and happy STS! thank you for the ask ^^
Silver Serpent takes place in a fantasy version of Scotland and Ireland, but it gets influences from a bunch of other countries.
Romania:
Vincent in half Romanian, his car is a Dacia Duster
- food - he cooks a lot of Romanian dishes, a veganized version of them, but still Romanian
- music - not traditional Romanian music, but he listenes to Romanian rock bands and has shared/introduced people to them
- language - if he goes home for a while he gets a bit stuck on some words for a while, most of his curses, mumbled as they are, are Romanian ones, sometimes he uses Romanian version of words intentionally because he likes it more Elise always gets confused by it, Takeru has gotten used to it and doesn;t even ask what he means anymore, but uses Romanian words he has learned in response
Japan:
Takeru and his cousin Rika are both Japanese
- allll the bowing! Takeru might be the lider of the criminology department but he still bows when he gets to the office - just a bit for his inferiors, 45 degrees bow for his supperiors
- language - Rika and Takeru talk in Japanese with each other and banter in it. Since he is not that talkative in general, he uses informal Japanese and short forms, Rika uses keigo (formal Japanese) just to annoy him
- Akumu - part of Takeru and Rika’s ancestral magic, he is a powerful youkai - japanese spirit - that sort of lives inside them
- food - altough they both have learned and are accustomed to different European quisines, they prefer Japanese food
- Hiei - Takeru’s companion a peregrine falcon, he is named after Takeru’s favorite anime character and mine as well but shhhhhh the demon Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho. Takeru might or might not still have a poster on his wall with Hiei and Kurama
- music - Takeru listens to mostly Jrock/Visual kei bands
Irish/Scottish
- Elise’s (born and raised in Ireland) first style of dance was Irish stepdance and she integrates parts of it when she dances (contemporary dancer)
- Eimear - she is a banshee and has been with the O’Duinns for at least 600 years
- language - Elise has learned and is fluent in Irish, Osgar is fluent in Gaelic, Vincent is slowly getting a Scottish accent, Takeru tried learnign Gaelic at some point, Tarioush speaks with a mixed accent (Scottish, Irish and Egyptian Arabic)
- whiskey - mostly in the form of banter: Elise and Tarioush against Osgar
- food - Osgar and Tarioush take turns in making dishes that partake to the cultures they greu up in
- celtic christianity - no longer activelly practiced, but the O’Duinn belief system has roots in it
Nathair - spirit of a great snake, legends place him during the picts era
- catholicism - not actually practiced, but Buach leans towards it from time to time
- Irish fiddle - Eimear and Valen’s instrument of choice, mostly EImear, Valen would borrow hers
There are also some Algerian, Nowegian, Egyptian and Muslim influences expressed through Tarioush (ex muslim - deconverted starting with the age of 14, born in Egypt to a very strict and conservative family, moved to Ireland at the age of 7) and Ingrid ( practicing muslim, half Algerian haf Norwegian) but I need to learn a bit more about those cultures before I feel comfortable talking about how they are part of the story.

cut open with a really dirty instrument, later getting a nasty infection that ends up killing them
Hullo and thank you! Now I know how one of my OCs is gonna suffer :)) They will not be mentioned here cause spoilers
It took me a while to figure out which of my Ocs wouldn’t go like “oh shoot, time to use a healing spell/get someone to heal this for me” after they cut themselves :)). Vince would probably die like this if he relapses because then he no longer cares
Both of my villains would kill like this. Buach would do it as a way of experimenting and figure ways to kill people more painfully without directly torturing them. Mary would do it just to test her abilities and maybe feed her ego.

Happy STS! if your characters had the opportunity to study anything they wanted, with no restrictions (I.e. worldbuilding, money, travel), what would they choose? why?
Hullo, happy STS and thank you for the ask ^^.
I'll go with the supposed main 4 and one of the villains.
Takeru - he'd probably study animal biology, behaviour, welfare and a bit of first aid if not full on veterinarian practices so he could maybe help his cousin a bit more at the animal sanctuary, resque and reabilitation center they own
Buach - he is studying/reasercying necromancy and blood magic now which is something he has set his eyes on fir the past ten years at least, but only recently got the chance to get more into it. He also reaserches how to properly take care of sheep since he has a baby lamb as a companion
Tarioush - he has so many interests, this kid! He'd probably focus on fine arts and wood sculptures/carpentry
Vincent - medicine probably so he can improve his healing spellwork and definitedly some psychology and pharmachology as at this point he is extremly careful with the oills he takes (other than his prescrived ones) and what they contain
Elise - mythology! She's always loved it. She keeps borrowing books on it from Osgar who has a secondary degree in it. Also snake behaviour and how to care for them. She's been raised near snakes so she knows how to do stuff in practice, but lacks the theory

WIP blind date info
Title of your WIP: Silver Serpent
Genre: Urban/Contemporary Fantasy with some sprinkled mystery and romance
Trigger Warnings: trauma, ptsd, domestic abuse, implied drug use
Stage of writing process: first draft that doubles as an outline
Synopsis: At 28 years old, Elise Dunne is relatively pleased with her life. Descendant of an old and respected Irish family, she is at the beginning of a promising career as a criminologist in Glasgow. Things change on a winter afternoon when a news announces that a well known serial killer, Buach Mulloch, whom she helped lock up three years prior, has escaped a maximum security prison without anyone noticing.
Now a certain target she gets sent to a safe house. Her quick temper and anger management issues do not bode well with this new situation as being left out of the investigation, the now limited contact with her best friend, Tarioush Burns, and her mentor, Vincent Morgan, and the knowledge that Mulloch is out there, scheming, plotting his revenge makes the control over her abilities slip.
Character information [OPTIONAL]:
Some of the fancast

Matsuda Takeru

Face Claim: Odagiri Joe
Companion: rescued peregrine falcon, Hiei, named after his favorite anime character
Age: 46
Height: 1.75 m
Sexuality: aromantic bisexual
Occupation: Criminologist, department chief
Main ability: able to detect lies and persuade the truth out of people
Family/Ancestral Spell: Invoking and controlling the Fear “demon”
Takeru was born and raised in Japan until the age of 16 when he moved to Scotland to help his cousin, Rika, with the animal rescue and rehabilitation center. Part of a former aristocratic family, Takeru has lived a semi sheltered life and had the opportunity to pursue any field of study he wished. He eventually settled for criminology, which he studied with a passion.
Not very talkative and prone to secrecy, Takeru seems intimidating and unapproachable. In some chases he has been described as unpredictable and cruel, the second one due to the Fear “demon” that was passed down from one generation to the other in his family. Since controlling the ability is not easy he meditates a lot and chose to lift walls around himself becoming closed off and apathetic.
Osgar and Tarioush

Fantasy writer questions: 7, 14, 22, and 35 please.
Hullo and thankies for the asks ^_^
7. has there been a war? if so, tell your readers about it!
Not recently. I mean except for the World Wars and Ireland’s muddy history. Now I lowkey want one, a civil wars of sorts in ancient times between powerful families. And maybe now this thing is treated as a myth *has a revelation* omg I know how mind reading disappeared now * runs to write ideas down*
14. who are the main antagonists? do they have any special weapons?
The main antagonists are Buach Mulloch and his accomplice, who still doesn’t have a name, so I’ll refer to her as The Accomplice for the moment.
So Buach is an Illusionist and has great control over his powers which makes him highly dangerous. He is also a bit of a sociopath and serial killer.
The Accomplice is a seductress/can make people want to please her and be somewhat happy about doing what she tells them to. She doesn’t control minds, however, she is no Killgrave :)), but sees like she is.
22. are there certain plants? flowers? spices? poisons?
For the moment Silver Serpent has some medicines and potions for which snake venom ( willingly given, no snakes have been hurt ) has been used.
In Raflec’s story there was this plan that depending on how it was used it could be either medicine or poison. It’s leaves and petals affected the blood of the person who ingested them. It is especially dangerous if nothing was done to it before being consumed.
35. are there any laws in your world/region that are important to the plot? any restrictions on magic?
Yes, for the general population their innate abilities are related to their energy levels and the limitation of the human body (e.g. Elise can turn giant boulders to mere pebbles with one punch, but the bones in her hand will break in the process).
There are laws for the spells that only the old families can do, it can only be taught by one family member to another (there is an exception when it comes to adoption and spouses but there is a limit to that as well). Also if someone leaves the family, no matter the reason, the spells and all abilities related to it, get automatically erased with no possibility of getting them back.
Send me a fantasy wip ask.
