caught the second half of evan almighty on the tv. i hadn't seen it in like ten years and it really tickled my brain. i was very surprised by the tension between the quite biblical notion of faith - a no holds barred surrender, a complete abandon of control over to God's design that you don't understand, can't see and don't want to be a part of but decide to trust anyway - and the very wishy washy, american brand of christianity where it's all in service of your own personal growth and it all fits neatly into the american dream and you're the main character of your salvation.

it's especially weird because i think that the scales are tipped towards radical faith in the movie, while maintaining that aesthetic of the comfortable american faith—almost like it's trying to reassure its audience it's not actually challenging the status quo. except it is, because it keeps deconstructing that comfortable habitual religion even as it wraps itself in it. i should write something about it because there's a lot to be said but it struck a chord. which, huh, it shouldn't have. because it's evan almighty lol

There is a 10 page scrapped Popeye the sailor man story where he visits a gay planet. It’s only a small part of the story, but it’s nice to know that in the Popeye universe there’s an entire gay planet.

Forgot pics but we found a 125 stego with a baby, then grabbed the highest-level doedic near our base (85, so not too bad), so now base building is a go! \o/

We had one casualty tonight. The doedic was far enough away I rode Spaz the raptor to get it, then had him following while I tranqed on foot. And for some reason a bear aggroed in the middle of it, then a second bear joined in and they killed me before I could mount again, then killed poor Spaz as soon as I got back in render. :'(

Kel found a 145 male raptor to replace him, though Spaz II's stats are nowhere near as nice. But we also got a female while waiting for the stego to tame so we can breed them now, we've already gotten one egg from our other male and another 1-2 will make a really nice pack.

Kel's also increased the iggy herd, we've found two really nice females by the base and grabbed them. Gonna breed them too and get imprinted ones to ride on, and once the actual base is built we'll start the hunt for spinos/ravagers. \o/

okay, the question is: do I grind the Golden Troupe/Marechaussee Hunter domain, where both sets currently seem to have good use on multiple characters and thus I can actually use my discards elsewhere, or do I grind the Song of Days Past/Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods, so that I can build the absolutely best Navia possible?
