ok i know "Paradise City is a liminal ghost town" is a joke so overdone and dead it's gone to the same place as the people that used to inhabit it, but it's even weirder to think about knowing that this was wholly the intention. Despite the name, Paradise City is not a city. It is a facsimile of one. It is a city so anti-pedestrian that it has become a car's playground, and not even the cars have drivers within them. There are human facilities with no humans to facilitate them, buildings and sidewalks lay forever dormant, and yet the lights are still on. And the whole thing was designed this way intentionally and deliberately on-purpose.
Probably because on most days, you never really notice, or care. After all, it IS a video game.

I think it's cool how certain media (specifically videogames) that aren't necessarily horror can be if you are in different mindspaces/headspaces- my favorite examples of this I've experienced is Subnatica and What Remains Of Edith Finch- most of the time neither of these games scare me- but sometimes I find said games disturbing or find an abnormal atmosphere I don't typically experience when normally playing said games. I've experimented with this- putting myself in a headspace that makes a non horror game a horror game- my best results are with a game called Burnout Paradise- the way I turned it into a horror game was simple- first I took advantage of the games objective system- the way it works is you go to a traffic light and press both triggers (If using controllers- however if you never do this objectives never happen since you have to make them- next I muted all audio except my cars audio- so no music or anything- just car sounds- next I turn off the hud- I then put on headphones and play in a dark room-. Boom now you are stuck in a limanal space city unable to leave your ca or interact with anyone.

"Just letting you know that racism has no place in Paradise City, Races on the other hand? There's plenty of those and everyones invited. DJ Atomika, saying the only people you should hate are the ones faster than you."

Need some body work though. If only Leonie wasn't a miser on auto repairs.
At least that old Mesquite runs like a champ, right?

The dichotomy of wanting to get into more MCYT content because you fucking love that medium of storytelling versus the sheer emotional burnout of series and fanfics with too much hurt and too little comfort inflicted upon you which you still haunts you tok this day
(and also you dont have anytime you ain't reading all that but that isn't important)

extremely disappointed by the lack of modern destruction racing games. forza horizon isn't enough i need to slam the ferarri i'm passing into an oncoming bus then barrel roll off a downed bridge, stick the landing, and get PIT-maneuvered by an A-Team van going 250kph, all while some high-energy pop rock or eurobeat song is being blasted into my ears.

Katie thank you for the ask!!💞
3) Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
Ethel Cain! I got really into her album: Preacher’s Daughter in early February and it’s been a downhill slide from there lol
4) Movie of the year?
Across The Spiderverse! Every second of every scene had my little artist brain running laps
14) Favorite book you read this year?
*gazes at my shelf of unread books* so here’s the thing…
25) Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one.
Yes actually, I’ve started sketching a creature I had a dream about in 2020. It somewhat reminds me of Mari Lywd but with a deer skull.
So anyway it plucked out my eyeballs—
