#TBH it went 10x better than I expected it to go #I was going to be really frustrated if they took the whole season to say those things #the way Blitz was like ‘is the sex not good enough? Rewatching DuckTales for the first time since 2020 is great because I’ve forgotten like 90% of the jokes which means they’re all freshly funny again.

Holup, they’re all rocking the same inclement weather gear

#ok the ascent is season 5 of ds9 and they are still in the black uniforms #they switch to the new uniforms LITERALLY the following episode #the timeless timeline is 15 years in the future but they stole the delta flyer #conceivably they outfitted the flyer with the uniform cold weather suits #when Chakotay and Harry got back they decommissioned the Flyer as is #but damn space ships require a hell of a lot of maintenance so how is it still up and running after sitting for 15 years #like how long was it sitting in the shipyard? the whole 15 years?#also they have two suits when quark and odo had to share the one #I’m as confused as the EMH #also lmao at the cold weather overalls #they’re so shiny and quilted I love the costuming so much #it’s been a minute since I’ve seen the ascent but do we see the overalls or just the jacket?#have we even seen these outfits on commissioned officers? hmm #oh god does this mean these ridiculous suits are going on my never ending dream cosplay list? oh god #Actually the timeless cosplay is uniformed and frozen sprayed down with fake snow hilarious #how easily I latch onto the costuming like damn

Ended up rewatching children of the gods last night and yeah I think it’s pretty solid for the first episode of a show

#everything with the goa’ould was still as weird and uncomfortable as the first time but minus that? good tv.#if i were to recommend sg1 to someone we could start with the first ep #we would definitely skip like 5 other season 1 episodes though #stargate sg1 #star speaks into the void #not like i’m keeping track or anything but daniel does cry in this one. starting off strong

not to sound like a broken record but i love my friends so fucking much

#this week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me but seeing my friends has been a life saver #genuinely my friends are so incredible #yesterday i went down to the river with two of them #the first two of us who got there read for a bit and then got in the water and did some really stupid splashing around #and it felt so free and it was so nice to laugh and act like an idiot and not just not feel self-conscious #but actually feel appreciated #(at one point they said ‘dude you look so gay right now’ and that’s the BEST compliment)#and then we spent like twenty minutes just throwing rocks #not skipping rocks #literally just finding big rocks and seeing how far we could throw them and enjoying the PLUNK they made #then we found a spot where the current was really strong to sit against and acted like idiots a bit more #and then our other friend got there and we all talked for a long time and read a bit more #and then today my other friend came over to body double for me while I start packing to move #and we found old books from when i was little and the things i’d written in them and had some good laughs #and then watched Babylon 5 (the episode itself was. kinda a downer and that’s an understatement. but it’s still Babylon 5)#tomorrow i’ll go see Papa again if he makes it through tonight. i think he will.#and then on the weekend i’ll see my other friend! and that’s always fun. plus i’ve been very physical affection driven lately #and they’re good for that. AND they have a cat AND a dog so like. ideal all around.#anyway my friends are my family and i’m totally not crying rn bc i’m so lucky to have them #personal

not people on reddit saying episode 5 of tlou was better than episode 3 because episode 3 was too “sentimental” while episode 5 captured the brutality of the game as though a huge part of what made episode 3 great wasn’t the fact that it was an unexpected spot of beauty and tenderness and love in the middle of an otherwise bleak story the same way bill and frank’s town was an oasis of peace and comfort in a harsh world

#to be clear this is not at all a universally held reddit opinion but i’m shocked by how many people are saying episode 5 is better than 3 #i thought episode 5 was like….. good but not anything groundbreaking no pun intended #also the tonal contrast between the two episodes was very intentional #the despair of ep5 wouldn’t hit as hard without the sweetness of ep3 and vice versa #i think some people are still just looking to see their favorite moments from the game brought to life #and that’s fine but as a non-game player i don’t have that same attachment to things like the bloater or the sniper nest #it admittedly doesn’t help that while i knew things ended badly for sam and henry #i didn’t know exactly what happened until it was spoiled for me only hours before the episode came out #so i spent the whole episode just waiting for it to happen and didn’t get to be shocked by it #the last of us

Watching other anime makes me so unbelievably grateful and appreciative that eva doesn’t assume its audience are the dumbest people on earth and over-explain literally every detail of what a character is doing and thinking at all times
