*sweats nervously once again* bc as I said before I honestly don’t like to rec things bc I think my taste is all over the place... 😂 and I'm not one who really pays attention or think about the faults of dramas. I just watch and enjoy (most of the time) lol. It also has only been almost four years for me with watching jdramas so I feel like I'm still pretty new to them haha. but I will try~ and what I mention is honestly more of ones I enjoyed the most watching and can remember!

— Tadashi Koi no Hajimekata (2023) | episodes: 01. genres: romance, youth. » there's only one episode but with two different versions! the name mentioned above is the first version and then tadashi koi no hajimekata: horoama? horoniga? date hen is the second version. it basically the same but shows the perspective of the two male leads with additional scenes! i just loved the pairing of mako and eita and their chemistry was soo good and fun. i am still v sad it wasn't an actual full length drama 😭 and the song that played at the end of date version was on repeat for months! 10/10 reccomend ✨

— An no Ririkku: Sakuragi An Haiku Hajimetemimashita (2021) | episodes: 02. genres: drama, youth. » i remember enjoying this one a lot it was definitely one of my favorite watches in 2021! since this one isn't the freshest in my memory (i have the worst memory fr) i can't say much but i swear i was obsessed w this special and the leads back in 2021!! 😆

before i get into mentioning actual full-length dramas i'll mention my two favorite jmovies that i actually physically own :)) so if you're interested in watching a movie before diving into dramas 💐

— Murder at Shijinso (2019) | duration: 2hr. 0 min. genres: horror, mystery, thriller, youth. » i love this dumb (affectionately) silly movie so much!! it might also be because i love the main actress hamabe minami but it's definitely just a fun murder mystery to watch :D

— You're Not Normal, Either! (2021) | duration: 1hr. 38 min. genres: comedy, romance, drama. » i enjoyed this one a lot!!! obviously since i also went out of my way to own it haha. but yeah my reviews for literally everything i like is "i enjoyed it" 😅 but seriously i did 🙇‍♀️

— Talio Fukushu Daiko no Futari (2020) | episodes: 07. genres: comedy, law, mystery. » it's been three years since it aired and i'm still crying about it 😭 it's the one drama i never shut up about and think about all the time. it's my favorite drama of all time like nothing throughout the years has had a hold on me since!! (what i've previously said about it~) | the way both leads played off each other and their chemistry was just- a++ the soundtrack for the drama was also such a treat and the vibes matched it so well! the vibes of the whole drama though!! I think it was also shot beautifully. and the consistency (!!! the way they kept things going even the smallest details !!!) throughout was something i really appreciated and looked forward too :’) i really be missing it everyday... </3 | i literally have a talio collection that i finally completed a few months ago 🥹 i have the dvd, cd, vinyl, and the magazine the leads were on the cover of 🫶

— Itsuka, Nemuri Ni Tsuku Hi (2019) | episodes: 06. genres: fantasy, friendship, supernatural, youth. » this one still makes my heart hurt whenever i think about it and i just simply love it to pieces. it really has left an lasting impression on me. short and bittersweet. 🖤

— Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo (2020) | episodes: 10. genres: comedy, medical, romance. » ahh so i think this was my first jdrama i watched!?! i honestly cant remember if i watched any before this bc this was the first jdrama i actually made gifs of so i'm going off of that as it being the first haha. but if you want something nice and fun to watch with romance at the forefront this is for youuu! bc i feel like most of my recs aren't romance heavy! and i just remember being obsessed with the leads and pretty sure it's what made me continue to watch jdramas 🫣

— Dr. White (2022) | episodes: 10 (+ 1 special). genres: comedy, drama, medical, mystery. » also another favorite from my five favorite dramas watched in 2022! even though it wasn't finished being subbed until last year i still very much enjoyed what eps i watched back then! like i really looked forward to every episode and soo grateful the subber decided to finish it and subbed the special as well! i might be bias because i love hamabe minami who's the female lead (and is in two other things i mentioned above lol) but all the characters are v likable and they all have great chemistry together! plus i enjoyed the v subtle hint of romance between the two mains like it isn't really there but it is and i was quite satisfied with the ending. 🫶

— Ryosangata Riko: Puramo Joshi no Jinsei Kumitate Ki (2022) | episodes: 10. genres: business, drama, life. » i adore the lead so much, she's the cutest! i find this one to be such a fun and relaxing watch! and there's a cute little hint of romance which was soo good to me and wish we got more of them. 😭 there's also a second season: Ryosangata Riko: Mou Hitori no Puramo Joshi no Jinsei Kumitate ki / with same cast members but set in a new universe that just aired last year!

— Okaeri Mone (2021) | episodes: 120. genres: life, drama, romance. » the number of episodes might scare you but this drama is an asadora (morning drama) which is only 15 minutes per episode! so if you're looking for a longer watch about life with a bit of romance i 10/10 recommend checking it out!! yes hello i always miss them 😭

notes: hey anon! i’m doing really well thanks <33 stressed over the mw3 trailer and wtf is gonna happen to soap and price?! i’m so sorry for taking so long to post this but i took a break from writing for a tad too long and now i’m struggling again lololol. ghost request hopefully (fingers crossed fr) will be finished soon but enjoy this short one for the time being!

exhaustion laced every muscle as you dragged your aching body through the base. it was quiet, peaceful almost. there wasn’t many people around, it was late at night and you knew that most would either be asleep or finishing off paperwork for previous missions. that was what you were supposed to be doing right now: paperwork. after spending four days on a ruthless mission that had taken a toll on you more than you cared to admit, you weren’t even given a chance to rest without having to relive the events of the last few days.

you decided it wouldn’t be tonight that you would do it. being a sergeant did in fact have its perks in a job like this. instead, your legs carries you in a familiar direction, one you took more often than you probably should, for one reason or another.

entering the rec room, you saw ghost finishing off his last mission’s report. happy to finally see someone you knew, you got his attention, “hey ghost.”

his eyes met yours and he visibly relaxed, his rough manchester accent filling the atmosphere around the two of you, “hey y/n. long mission?”

you smiled knowingly, aware that your dark circles had only deepened since you had been away. “you could say that.”

he chuckled slightly and signed off his report, “if you’re going to see him, mind taking this with you? i would take it to him myself but i don’t want to interrupt the two of you.” he looked slightly apologetic with his request, but you appreciated his sentiment.

“of course, now go get some rest.” ghost nodded at your words and made his way to his room. you got changed into something more comfortable than your previous gear. you looked over yourself in the mirror, your dark circles were in fact worse, but the faint outline of a black eye was forming around one. you sighed, fingers reaching to your busted lip which had only recently stopped bleeding. bruises and scrapes cluttered your skin in countless different places, but you knew you’d gotten off a lot better than you could’ve done.

you sighed, but still continued on your previous path towards the captain’s office.

you knocked on his door before opening it gently, as price glanced up at you with a soft smile on his face. you instantly felt better at the sight of him, placing ghost’s report on his desk and sitting on the chair facing him. he took a quick glance through the lieutenant’s papers before placing them to the side. his eyes met yours once again and studied your face, concern glistening in his eyes as he noticed the visible injuries.

you picked up on his concern, quickly attempting to put his mind to rest, “i’m fine, john. been through worse and you know i have.”

he stands up and sighs deeply, your eyes following his movements. “i worry about you.”

“i know you do, but i’m fine. i mean it.” you reach over to him and hold his hand, feeling him relax under your touch. his chest was rising and falling more steadily, and his shoulders had fallen into a casual stance. you smiled as you stood up and hugged your captain. “can’t get rid of me that easily.”

hello. im in panic because i had this idea and I CANT GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD

so, basically y/n is childhood friends with max verstappen and charles leclerc, but y/n moved away so they lost contact. when she and noah went to the meet and greet, they didn’t see her… so, one day lando and y/n takes noah (and their little girl too, if that’s not much for you to write!) and y/n see her both childhood friends and run to them, hugging and catching up with them, and that leaves lando and noah jealous because y/n’s full attention is on the two drivers - both lando’s friends - in front of them.

that leaves lando to ask something like ‘I thought you were a papaya girl?’ and y/n answers with a ‘i always was a red bull and ferrari girl first, i just never told you’

The circuit was alive with pre-race energy as fans, mechanics and team members hustled and bustled in preparation for the big day. Among the crowd were Y/N and her young son, Noah, both eagerly soaking in the sights and sounds of the Formula 1 world. Y/N had been dating Lando Norris for a few months now and she appreciated how he made an effort to include her and Noah in his world. Today was a special treat - Lando had arranged for them to get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the entire paddock.

Noah, clutching his miniature McLaren car and looking up at Lando with admiration, was practically bouncing with excitement. “This is amazing, Lando!” Noah exclaimed. “I never thought I’d get to see all this up close!”

Lando grinned, clearly delighted by Noah’s enthusiasm. “I’m glad you’re enjoying it! We’ve got a lot more to see. How about we check out the driver’s area next?”

They continued their tour and Y/N found herself enjoying not just the sights but also the company. “Yes, it’s me,” Y/N’s face lit up with joy, “I can’t believe I’m seeing you both here!”

The three of them embraced warmly and the air was soon filled with laughter and animated conversation. They quickly fell back into their old rhythm, catching up on each other’s lives and reminiscing about the past. Noah stood beside them, looking up with wide eyes, soaking in the reunion.

Lando, meanwhile, was left standing a few steps behind. How, around the age of ten, Y/N moved to Monaco with her family, which allowed her to be closer to the heart of European motorsports where her dad used to be a karting coach. It was here that she met Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. Max and Charles were both young karting prodigies and their paths crossed frequently at various racing events and training sessions. Y/N became fast friends with both drivers and the three formed a tight-knit trio.

When they grew older their careers took them in different directions. Y/N's focus shifted to her studies and she moved to London for university. Max and Charles continued their ascent in the racing world, their careers skyrocketing as they made names for themselves in Formula 1.

The demands of their careers and Y/N’s new path led to a slow drift apart. They stayed in touch for a while but as their lives became more complex the frequency of their contact diminished. By the time Max and Charles became prominent figures in F1 Y/N was focused on her own world and then she got pregnant with Noah and they lost touch.

As the conversation between Y/N, Max, and Charles continued, Lando and Noah found themselves standing off to the side a bit. Noah, clutching his miniature McLaren car in one hand and Lando’s hand in the other, watched with wide eyes as his mother and her old friends shared stories and laughter. Lando as well observed the interaction with a mix of curiosity and unease.

Noah shifted from one foot to the other, his excitement about being at the race quickly giving way to a subtle feeling of abandonment. “Lando,” he said quietly, “why isn’t Mom paying attention to us right now?”

Lando glanced down at Noah, sensing his disappointment. “I think she’s just really happy to see her old friends,” he said gently. “It’s probably a big deal for her.”

Noah nodded but didn’t seem completely reassured. He continued to watch his mom who was animatedly talking with the two men, her laughter ringing out as they reminisced about their old days.

Lando’s own feelings of jealousy began to stir. He had been looking forward to spending the day with Y/N and Noah and seeing her so absorbed in the past while he and Noah stood on the sidelines left him feeling excluded, especially since he had no idea they even knew each other.

“Hey, Noah,” Lando said, trying to shift the mood, “why don’t we find a place to sit and watch the action from there? We can still see them but maybe it’ll be a bit more comfortable than just standing here.”

Noah reluctantly agreed and they found a spot near the edge of the paddock where they had a clear view of Y/N, Max, and Charles. They sat together, with Noah perched on Lando’s knee, both watching the animated conversation unfold.

Lando took a deep breath, trying to reconcile his feelings. He understood how special this moment was for Y/N but seeing her so absorbed in the past made him feel sidelined. He tried to focus on the positive aspects, like how happy Noah looked whenever he glanced over at his mother.

After a few minutes Y/N noticed Lando and Noah sitting together and realized how much she had been monopolizing their attention. She excused herself from Max and Charles and walked over to them, a look of concern on her face.

“Hey, you two,” Y/N said, kneeling down beside them. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to leave you out. I got caught up in the nostalgia, I guess.”

Lando smiled warmly, though his eyes betrayed him a bit with jealousy. “It’s okay, Y/N. We were just hanging out and watching. It’s important to you, so it’s important to us.”

“Yeah, mommy,” Noah nodded, his earlier disappointment softened by his mother’s attention back on him, “It’s cool. I just missed spending time with you.”

Y/N reached out and squeezed Noah’s hand, then turned to Lando with a grateful smile. “Thank you for being so understanding. Let’s make the most of the rest of the day together. I promise I’ll give you both my full attention.”

Land guided Y/N and Noah back to the McLaren area and he couldn’t help but say what was on his mind. “Y/N, I have to admit, I am a bit confused. I thought you were all about McLaren, a ‘papaya girl’ as they say.”

Y/N looked over at Lando, her smile still radiant from the reunion. “Oh, I was a Ferrari and Red Bull girl first, I just never told you.”

Lando’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Really? That’s news to me. I had no idea.”

Y/N chuckled. “Yeah, it’s something I kept to myself. I guess I wanted to focus on the present and the exciting things happening now but seeing Max and Charles again, it just brought back so many memories.”

Lando smiled warmly. “Well, I’m glad you had the chance to reconnect with them. It’s great to see old friends catching up.”

Eventually, Y/N turned back to Lando with a grateful smile. “Thank you for being so understanding,” Y/N turned to him with a grateful smile, “this day has been incredibly special.”

Lando reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “It’s my pleasure. I’m happy to be a part of this moment for you. Let’s make the most of the rest of the day and enjoy every bit of it.”

oh hey i wanna talk abt smth thats been on my mind both lately and on and off for a while in general. sorry this ended up being a hella long post lol. but i have a lot to say

so...for context, ive been in the phandom for 10 years--since 2014--though it has admittedly been on and off in terms of engagement from me. in 2017 i got into dragon ball and all but dropped danny phantom completely with a few small drawings here and there. it was only like..within the past week that i actually got back into the phandom legitimately again, actively making art and posts about it and engaging with the source material and etc

anyway, i was obsessed with dp from 2014-late 2017 (until i got into dbz). i made lots and lots of fanart, played the gba games like all the damn time (i got to where i could speedrun tue lol), rewatched the show regularly...i was even one of those fans that bought obscure merch and learned useless trivia that ive since forgotten. in 2015 a lot of you may remember that i made @doppelgangercomic, a comic about an au i had where dan got a redemption arc (albeit a bumpy one) and future vlad was there and stuff happened (go read the comic LOL). it got a LOT of love and traction! it made me really happy to see all the positivity around my work like that :) i actually got a lot of positive responses towards my work in general. i had a really great time in the phandom back then

then i changed fandoms and kinda fell out of the phandom space. after being on a hiatus from the phandom until literally a week ago, i honestly have to say ive felt like i kind of...faded into obscurity in the phandom's eyes? basically i feel like old news. people dont generally know what doppelganger is now. they may have seen my art in passing here and there but they dont know who i am anymore. i think the only place people actively still find my old danny phantom art from when i was heavily active is...deviantart lol. i get notifications from favorites literally every day there. but uh anyway--im not saying this to garner pity or tell a sob story or anything! im just expressing some thoughts and feelings ive had for a long time lol.

the reason i bring this ^ up though, is because like...i know its not true? logically, i know that i DID make an impact in the fandom i loved/love so so much. i left my mark on both the fandom in an artistic sense, and also the people in the fandom, and sometimes i forget that because i get significantly less engagement on my posts than i used to. but i know that doesnt mean that people dont like my stuff anymore, or that ive been forgotten.

i actually got a message from someone today--a friend i made kinda recently who approached me bc they liked doppelganger actually. they told me that basically its surreal to them that theyre talking to me as a friend because they remember reading doppelganger when they were younger and looking up to me because of it. and it really reminded me of what i said previously--ive not been forgotten, and people still do appreciate and love what ive put out into the world (specifically about danny phantom in this case). ive made an impact on people's lives even when i dont realize it or see it physically. the message and sentiment made me feel really really good and nice and happy and honestly relieved, because the phandom and danny phantom as a media has been an extremely important and impactful part of my life ever since i got into it ten years ago. i literally changed my name to dan because of it lol. it was the reason i found stephen silver's work and went down that path of my art journey. its the reason i found so many amazing people and friends and artists and continue to do that even now. i owe a lot to danny phantom and the phandom as a whole, and i try to give back in the only ways i know how--mainly thru showing my passion through my art and posts.

anyway erm. yeah. all of this to say i wanted to thank yall--the phandom--for supporting me all this time, whether youve been with me from the beginning or if youre just joining me recently. youve been an absolute delight in my life and i know youll continue to be for a long time. :)

I don't know if Anon wanted, or expected, a detailed response and I wasn't sure it'd be the right thing to do but I got it drafted, so I might as well post it. I'm aware that my responses might look like self defence, deflecting and discrediting the accusations, but my intention is really just to explain my line of thought and provide some context.

None of this criticism is unfair, and I will take it into consideration. It's not fun to be criticised like this, but I do appreciate it (and if you want to dismiss that as "empty words", I won't stop you).

Maybe it's time for another shift in content, a new rule to avoid drama and try something else?

Hello there, Fish. I am going to make myself as short as I possibly can, because whenever I see unfairness, I speak up. (my note: me too, that's sort of the point of this blog) You made a post a few days ago saying that you deleted a post because it was aimed towards a specific person and that it could cause issues, so why are you continuing to do the exact same thing to others?

The post I deleted was unfair to begin with, and it criticised a personal choice (that affected no one, except upsetting one or two users) rather than the person's leadership and actions of authority. I also did not agree with the anon, but I make a practise of posting anons regardless of whether I agree with them or not and that is probably where I was careless and failed to consider the implications of that post in particular.

For example, don't you think that what have been written about the people of WoOFR has been hurtful to them? What makes it okay to literally target these people so very specifically and, in my opinion, in a very cruel way but not okay to target someone else? Some posts are not even about these people's positions or whatever, but literally about their personas. No, this does not have anything to do with WoOFR to begin with, but it was just taken as an example. Scrolling down on behindthewox, you can see this sort of behaviour repeatedly.

The posts about WoO FR are a very different thing. It's several individuals, seemingly independent of each other, sharing the same concerns and expressing that it is causing harm to the site users at large. Not only that, one of the claims could be a legal issue and even if it's not, it's still a very valid concern as users could come to harm. Assuming that the Mugs only communicate with the site leaders (I get the impression that's the rule) there are only so many ways to bring issues like this to their attention. Unless you know the Mug personally and can contact them directly, an anon submission to a public forum is probably your best option. I'm not the one who set up the system that way. I only provide (and moderate) the public forum that was missing. Yes, all of this could've been avoided if only there had been a forum to anonymously share your concerns without worrying about consequences, and knowing that your submissions will be read, taken seriously and acted upon.

It doesn't sit right with me at all. If you decide to censor certain content to "protect" or "help" others, why not do that to everyone? These are all people with feelings, insecurities and (probably) a lot of stress because of what is being written about them on the internet. Are person A's feelings more important than person B's?

Hi. I am a human: flawed, biased and imperfect. I try to be neutral and fair but sometimes I'm not, because I have opinions of my own. Sometimes I'm not, because I don't always give myself enough time to mull things over, analyse the situation and weigh my words and options carefully. I do that on purpose, though, it's all part of me picking a fight with my perfectionism and rejection sensitivity. It makes a mess (sorry) but it's good practise.

Is this the community we really want to be? I always thought World of X was about finding an escape from your real life for a bit. A way to make friends, do fun homework, solve riddles and anagrams, and do what we all love the most which is to create characters and live their lives for a moment instead of our own. That is not what WoX has become.

I agree, WoX should be an escape from reality. But even so, where there are people involved there will inevitably be social issues and where there is a power structure or hierarchy there will be social issues connected to that. If handled correctly, the site should still be a positive place to escape from reality. But if it's not handled well, if there is abuse and conflict, there will be issues. Some site leaders are good at handling it, but being good at handling human flaws is not a requirement for being a site leader and as far as I'm aware, it's not something that is taught to site leaders either which leaves some of them unprepared to face the social aspects of leadership. Unprepared and likely to mess up, with a risk of making things worse and sometimes even escalating the situation.

I understand giving criticism, but this is not it. By doing it this way, it sets a negative tone to the word "criticism" and will only make it harder to deliver such feedback in the future, because this can literally traumatise people. Yes, this is the internet. We can hide behind being anons (yes, like I do right now). But the things that are being written is being written about someone who is, in the end, a real person. Not a character. Not something built from imagination. A real person.

Being called out for your mishandling of situations and lacking leadership is personal, but it also comes with the job of being a leader. If you don't meet the users' expectations and fail them repeatedly, you will be criticised for it. Whether site leaders are aware of it or not, they ultimately signed up for it.

I really, really hope none of the leaders follows this blog. Kudos to everyone who manages a site. I would never in a million years even consider doing so, and one of the many reasons for that is because of the disgusting environment that WoX is being poisoned with, and the way people decide to deal with their drama.

I have to make a puppy mod appreciation post!

I love puppy mod sm (platonically) they are one of the bestest friends and people in the world! They’re so nice to me and give me lots of love and kindness. I’m really glad we equally reached out to each other through this blog bc honestly once alpha mod and I went our separate ways I was overwhelmed and upset and sincerely didn’t want to continue to with this blog. Omegaverse will always hold a special place in my heart, but I was way too nervous to continue posting. What if people flamed me? What if people got too pushy? I’m not really good with people at all (you can tell) and my self esteem is pretty bad too, but I really like talking with people and hearing new view points and stuff. It was just ultimately scary to continue doing things online until puppy mod sent me an ask and I knew I wanted to speak with them.

I have this like intuition about people. I really like to give people the benefit of the doubt and very few people sway me one way or the other, but pupp y mod was an instant “I have to speak to this person, we must be friends now”. They are soooo creative and smart and kind. Thank you all for accepting them on this blog. It’s been really really scary to reach out to people and continue posting online, but puppy mod is always there to reassure me and give me nothing but kindness. They say I deserve it haha T~T through puppy mod and my own work and my irl friends (who follow this blog too!) my self esteem is so much better and I’m a little less afraid! Hell, I’m going to get a second degree even though I’m really really scared to do so bc I know puppy mod, my irl friends, and the friends ive made through this blog believe in me and have my back. 22 year old omega/kitty mod never thought this was even possible and I never knew people could be so kind. I get so overwhelmed so so quickly and it’s nice to have people to understand that.

Butttt anyways back to puppy mod. I would do anything for them fr. I hope you all find your own personal puppy mods (and irl friends) and love yourselves and stuff.

Posting has always been sporadic and slow and I appreciate all of you for sticking around. (As I always say lmao) I’ve been in a horrible creative slump, probably the worst one I’ve been in a long time and putting words to paper or text has been agonizing.

Thank you all so much for being kind to me. I haven’t seen a lot of it in my life and I feel so much better with kindness.

Sign - Nobukazu Takemura (2000)

my pfp !!!! i discovered the title track sign from the album hoshi no koe, but this is the record it originally debuted in! takemura is a japanese electronic musician who makes a lot of experimental music, and this album is no different. however, it has sort of a.. nintendo vibe to it? it’s difficult to describe, but it’s super fun !! i love the album art as well and the rhythmic motion of the building. the little music note guy has my whole heart too, theyre jus a little goober <3

Paraiso - Haruomi Hosono and The Yellow Magic Band (1978)

i wouldve put this in yellow but there is no option. anywayz this is a interesting album. ive recently started listening to hosono’s music and i enjoy it a lot !!! hosono house is fire, but this one is also good ! the cover art is what initially led me to listening to this, i love the beach atmosphere and the sky as space. and the little bubbles that have random monuments in them. and the palm trees n plants and agh. it’s delightfully surreal and im here for it !!!

S-F-X - Haruomi Hosono (1984)

look hosono you’re awesome and i love your early stuff so far. but i could not get into this ep at all. might try again tho !! but it’s really a shame because the cover is awesome. i love the distortion on the face and the pops of pink and yellow against the teal background. it’s very pleasing to look at and it’s been floating in my mind for awhile. very futuristic lookin !

Sail - Masakatsu Takagi (2003)

I AM THE ULTIMATE TAKAGI FAN #1 anyway. this album is so so lovely and silly. it has a special place in my heart now fr. the best way to describe it is animal crossing/picopop(??) type music. some of it reminds me of kero kero bonito’s music too. idk genres are weird !! point is it’s very upbeat and nostalgic. a few tracks are more somber sounding, especially rama. but i love the album art of this one, it’s like something you’d see in a dream or a childhood memory. i love the watercolor texture and the blend of pastel colors too!! and how it looks as if it was combined from multiple layers, as in each piece of the figure was made separately. overall takagi is a genius and this album SLAPS

Keep It Unreal (10th Anniversary) - Mr. Scruff (2009)

mr. scruff makes very cheeky and silly electronic music, but occasionally he drops an absolute banger. nah fr all of his stuff is good, some of it is just more “serious” than others. but i appreciate his sense of humor and the beats he makes ! this album of his is a great listen, but i especially love the cover. the og album cover is mounted up in the corner while these little bean guys are celebrating. truly a work of art. his other album ninja tuna also shares a similar art style !! very goofy <3

A Wizard, a True Star - Todd Rundgren (1973)

do i gotta say anything even. this is just a masterpiece of a cover. there is so much going on in the best way possible. i love the incorporation of the geometric shapes. the trippy visuals. it screams 70s. not to mention this album is fire. international feel is so good !!!

Desire, I Want to Turn Into You - Caroline Polachek (2023)

PHOTOGRAPHY JUMPSCARE ! i recently go into caroline polachek and OML where have you been all my life. this album is pure pop bliss and her vocals are so so good. sunset and fly to you are especially good oug. the album cover in particular is very simple in concept but it’s executed so well. the lighting, the sand, the bus chairs, her outfit?? absolutely stunning. this woman oozes creativity fr.

Dreams - Gabor Szabo (1968)

i could not find a better quality image of this one but holy molay this is a great jazz fusion record. is it fusion? idk anymore. but this is a great album and the art is just. mwah. i love all of the intricate details and the flowers. it’s just gorgeous !!! what else can i say !

Dead but Dreaming - vivivivivi (2023)

final one !!! vivivivivi is honestly super underrated, though her song credits song for my death has 8 million views on yt. anyway, this was a pretty recent album from her and it’s very cool !!! def gives the vibes of an rpg. i love the album cover tho!! the artist did a tremendous job with it, i love the overgrowth of the flowers and the shading. it also suits the tracks well !!

Regarding confessions, I have nothing much to say. I think other anons already mentioned lots of valid points. Sure- porn fics are obv exaggerated, characters get mischaracterized and ships get pushed down out throats all the time but hey, that's just an average fandom experience, right?

So I'm trying to ignore/filter all the negativity and allow only good, quality content on my dash. Unfortunately, the content is few and not many appreciate writers and artists here on Tumblr. So it's for the best if they'd just change platforms and try their luck somewhere else that offers more positive interaction/involvement. I miss Tumblr reblog culture and nice feedback on dif stories/art. Nothing is the same anymore...

Regarding mischaracterization- it's not a problem to headcanon things, in fact, to each their own. But it's a problem when people openly accept headcanon as canon and unapologetically fight others over inaccurate opinions. It's so beyond me. And the funniest thing- it's mostly minors. Can we get rid of the minors in for-them-inappropriate fandom spaces pls? Tumblr staff where you at?

I noticed that fans of less popular characters are more fun. I'm not that big into Choso you see, but his fans made the whole fandom experience so much more enjoyable. And I don't think that Mahito fans are weird if you compare Toji smut fics (I'm not calling out people but I'm calling out people). Sukuna fans I'm looking at you too...

I'm forever grateful for Nanami, Higuruma, Kusakabe and Shiu quartet. Gege, thank you for feeding us while it lasted. The fics are divine and I understand why Shoko didn't see the appeal in stsg, like girl I get you.

I'll come out and say it- stsg is overrated. And jjk girls deserve more content that isn't ship-oriented.

I think Gege needs to make up his mind because Yuta and Yuji can't exist as two mains at once. Everyone is taking away Yuji's spotlight, but they're dying and dying until nobody's left except Yuji... I don't know how jjk will end.

I miss Yuki and Todo's dynamic and all the funny stuff, I wish jjk was a comedy fr... Gege is writing an idol manga after this one so I can't wait for the things he has in store for us!

I agree with mischaracterization, but imo, unless a mangaka explicitly states something, then a fictional character is always subject to having HC's being formed about them depending on the writer. What gets problematic though, is when fans of a writer start looking at those HC's as an actual canon, and now they're picking fights/sending hate to other creators who have different opinions.

Fans of less popular characters tend to be more chill from what I've seen. They just want to talk about their faves and have a good time, and are less bothered with what could be canon or not. They have their HC's and are open to hearing different ones too.

I feel like JJK gave us this genre of 'tired men in suits' which is very appealing, even to us older girlies who are in the same age range as these men.

Stsg being overrated...imo I don't feel that way. I think they had great potential as a couple and I'm filled with sadness at the thought that they didn't catch Suguru's spiral when it happened. I can see them with heterosexual partners too, but I love the concept of Stsg.

The JJK women definitely need content not surrounding ships or smut. Something more action-related or just let her shine in her own right in a fic.

IDK what'll happen going forward...The story is supposed to center on Yuji but it feels like he's constantly being pushed aside. I hope things resolve soon but it looks like Sukuna might win after all this. I'm just sad thinking about it.

I miss the slice of life feel to the story as well but what can ya do...Gege is the mangaka, so he'll do what he wants. But if he brings back Nanami I ain't complaining lol.

I imagine for a few days there, Norman needed some rest after the Rubian V battle, just having gone so long without pain receptors on and Skip doing Insane Fuckin Flips N Shit in a 50 y/o man’s body. While he’s resting, Skip is catching him up on all the shit that happened cus I don’t know exactly for sure, but I imagine it’s a few weeks of just lost information, and Norman seems to have a bit of understanding about some of it in the finale, but I think could benefit from a full run-down. That time of simultaneous resting and being caught up on events forms a lot of their inside jokes, where sharing that headspace kind of tunes Norman into more of Skip’s thought process during it all. Stuff like “Wait, you thought you were totally undetected? You were so for sure that you hadn’t been made? Skip, bud. You were chewing popcorn and spitting it out. THEY KNEW!!!!” And then cut to Skip showing him later events and gets to when Sidney offhandedly mentions it was obvious and Skip got so damn offended despite. The Symptoms LMAO that Norman has to mentally pause for a minute to laugh. Sometimes Norman will just mutter “Are you kidding me right now. Are you kidding me,” when shit’s going sideways cus the way Skip said it just lives rent free in Norman’s head (literally in a way)

AND YEA I think they’re VERY good at making each other laugh at silly times!! A lot of Norman thinking of/referencing something Skip said or did, and Skip gets some genuine delight out of The Thoughts Norman Will Not Say Out Loud. The crew gets in the habit of getting on their ass whenever one of them just laughs seemingly out of nowhere cus THEY WANNA KNOW MAN!!!!!
