This is purely fueled by petty rage and caffeine so buckle the fuckle up.
There has been a lot of talk lately about if Celine was a good person, how bad Actor Mark was, blah blah blah. This is been a topic from pretty much day one of WKM but recently it’s popped up in relevancy. I’ve never really vocalized my thoughts on the matter, despite having many. I’m the kind of person who tears stories apart for fun, so I know a bit what I’m talking about. Get ready for these spicy hot takes, cause guess what:
They’re all bad. All of them. Including everyone's favorite boy. That’s right, the uwu-too-pure-for-this-world-boy, Damien.
Now put down your pitchforks for a second and hear me out. You can send me hate later. What I’m here to do is take a look at Mark’s characters, look at their actions (both implied and shown), and then show that none of them are innocent. If this is a mess, uhhh sucks to suck I guess. (the person sucking is me. hah gottem)
First, before I get into the characters however, we need to discuss Mark’s storytelling. Personally I like it quite a bit. It’s interesting and it’s engaging, but it does have its quirks and flaws. You can see the improvement, but it does effect how his characters have come across. Mark himself has admitted to writing Celine poorly in WKM, and I would tend to say that much of WKM should have been adjusted. It’s not “Who Killed Markiplier” but “Why Killed Markiplier” as Mark has said, and the why was never really shown in the series. It’s explained in a live-stream, and if you can’t get your intentions across in the series then something in the script is wrong. Having said that, Mark has improved his writing immensely and I applaud him for that.
Mark prefers to tell a singular story, leaving much of what he intends up to speculation. He doesn’t tell you the story of how Wilford became the insane goofy murderer he is today; he shows you a moment of weakness and connection between Abe and Wilford. He doesn’t show you how Damien and Celine became Dark, he tells you the story of two siblings protecting each other and being backed into a corner in which playing the part of a villain is their only escape. The intention is plainly there, but you have to understand the characters to truly get the story. “You’re too focused on the minutia” is true. The fans pay too much attention to the details of the story. You have to focus on the characters and their motivations to understand the tale Mark is weaving. Don’t focus on Wilford being in two places at once, or Damien’s hand turning gray in one shot. Focus on the characters and who they are because in the end that’s what they are: characters. With the release of DAMIEN, Mark has made it clear that the characters are the important things, made to be placed into whatever story he pleases. (uh Mark if you’re reading this that is a dope idea and holy fuck im hype)
Now to actually talk about the characters.
Let’s start with Celine, since she is the main focus of this debate. First and foremost, Celine is manipulative. She knows what she wants, and she will get it at any cost. This is shown from the moment she steps into the manor. She turns everyone against the DA. Isolating us, and making us feel vulnerable. Then, with a gracious olive branch, she let’s us help. We are now special, but we can only trust Celine. An interesting parallel to “Don’t Trust the Seer.” After the DA has the fall, Celine is there yet again. Forcing Damien asleep, she uses us to gain a body, and then kicks the DA out into the mirror, making us now a viewer of this world. In DAMIEN, she manipulates Damien into sleeping. Keeping him tucked away and safe. Celine’s primary characteristic is manipulation. Getting what she wants, no matter the cost. She is protective, she is abrasive, she is determined, and she is cold.
Now let’s look at Mark. His personality isn’t so plainly laid out as the others (seeing as he fuckinn dies in the first five minutes), so we’re going to have to rely on what the others have said about him to get the picture. The first thing we hear about Mark is from the Colonel. Obviously, a man with prejudice, but still has an insightful look into who Mark is. “My name is Markiplier now! Forget that my friends are the ones who helped me along the way. Just look at me and my money. I need to pay people to be my friends. Ahaha. Oh you like me, too bad.” Then, even Mark himself has said: “I used to be somebody. Maybe not somebody good, but I was somebody.” (Granted this is from the meta ending, but I’m still going to use it because ADWM still applies and I’m an asshole and you can’t stop me) Both these sentences are inferring to a man who was changed by fame and fortune. This infers to a man who took and took, so up his own ass that he started ignoring his friends in favor of becoming richer and increasingly powerful. I think that is that crux of Mark’s character: power and control.
In DAMIEN, Mark has some insightful comments that back this up. “You stole everything from me.” ... “Well you wouldn’t even have anything in the first place if it wasn’t for me.” ... “You were never good enough for Celine.” ... “I gave up everything for her!” This exchange back and forth between Damien and Mark leads me to believe that Mark, through his power and fame, gave the twins everything they had. He gave Damien his mayor position. He gave Celine money, influence, power, and his love. Mark might have thought he was doing these things for them, but if you look at who Mark is, he was doing these gracious actions to have control over the twins. Damien now owes Mark for giving him his job and his power. Celine owes Mark for her comfortable home and a loving husband. This is further proved by Mark’s interaction with the Colonel. Using the money that William owes to Mark, the guilt of cheating with his wife, Mark controls the Colonel and makes him work for him. Controls him, up til the moment that William looses his mind. Mark values control, and he values power.
I don’t think I need to explain how Wilford is a bad person, but ya know let’s just say it: cheater and murderer. His character is insanely fun, and I love the depth and nuances to it, but he’s not the one we’re focusing on today. Here’s just here for me to say that I love him, and he was just a pawn in the backstory of WKM.
Now, for the controversial opinion. Damien. Everyone’s sweet, innocent, could never hurt a fly, mayor. Well, sorry my guys but that is just not correct. Damien’s role in this story is integral, and let me say the misjudgment of his character annoys me a lot but that’s just cause I’m salty all the time so let’s just jump into it. Damien is not innocent. As Mark says, “Always the righteous crusader. Pure as the driven snow. Acting like you’re the only one without blood on your hands.” There is blood on his hands. Good intentions aside, Damien has a fatal flaw and that is that he is a coward. He may want what is best for everyone, but he cannot find his own spine. Throughout WKM, despite being the mayor - a fuckinn leadership position - he takes a backseat of running after the Colonel, running after the DA, and running after Celine. He is easily used, and easily discarded. He lets others walk over him, and in doing so lets everything around him fall apart. It isn’t until DAMIEN when he has lost literally everything that he finally sheds the title of pawn and becomes a player. Damien isn’t pure. He is soaked with the blood of every dead body he could not lead and he could not protect because he was too much of a coward to do what was right.
Looking at all of these characters, I hesitate to label them as bad or good. I know I just said that they’re all bad, but welcome to clickbait. Celine is manipulative, but she cares about her brother and she fights for herself. Mark is power hungry, yet he loved and he lost. Damien is a coward, yet he cares for others. Looking at them as they are, I cannot say that they fit perfectly into role of villain or hero. This story isn’t that simple. It’s created to flip the script.
But, everyone is arguing about Celine and Mark’s past so let’s jump into that mess of a conversation.
Celine is a manipulator. Mark wants control and power. Damien wants everyone to be happy. William/Colonel has a one track mind and currently it’s set on fuck. This is who they are, and from this we can try and determine their backstory. Granted, this is my view and my speculation but I think I’m pretty on track. I can honestly say that at one point, Celine and Mark loved each other. They are both too obsessed with having what they want to settle for marrying someone they hate, or even marrying someone they were indifferent too. They loved each other, and they had to have each other. Things can change, however. What started as something fueled by love can turn into something fueled by vengeance.
Mark is obsessed with control, and so he tried to keep a tight hold on what he loved. Celine detests being the pawn when she is the player, and so when she wanted William, she had to have him. Throughout the series it is shown that Mark viewed Celine as his. William/Colonel stole her from him. She was his, and she was taken. On the opposing side, Celine is no prize to be kept. Her love shifts from Mark to William/Colonel and she takes what she wants. At the end of the day, she would carve their hearts out for attempting to keep her in a cage as their pretty songbird. Also, I believe that Damien knew that Celine was cheating, but he couldn’t bare being the one to break apart his childhood friends, so he said nothing. He let his cowardice destroy what he only wanted to preserve.
Celine and Mark could have never worked together, because they both want to control and they couldn’t control each other. Damien could not lead, and was used and walked over until he and those he loved were dead. William/Colonel barely had a say; each step he took was a line in Celine and Mark’s strategy. It wasn’t until he broke that he was able to break the script.
So what does this mean, Eli? Who is the good guy and who is the bad guy? Why doesn’t this story play into exactly what I want? Why don’t these characters fit these little tropes I want to place upon them?
It means none of that, reader. You can call them bad, and you can call them good. You can make Damien into a hero, and you can make Celine into an abuser. You can say Mark was taken advantage of, you can blame the manor, or you can call him evil. You can do whatever you want with them, but that is only possible by ignoring that they are so much more than that. This story is not meant to fit into a square. This story at its basis is to show that these are stereotypical characters, meant to play a role, who have broken it.

Republicans Abandoning Gop Under Trump: Justin Amash Joins Growing List Of High
Donald Trump poses as the biggest threat to Republican Party
Representative Justin Amash announced on Thursday that he was “declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party,” joining a growing list of lawmakers and pundits who have abandoned the GOP in the era of Donald Trump.
In an op-ed published by The Washington Post, Amash wrote that “modern politics is trapped in a partisan death spiral.” He encouraged Americans to join him in rejecting the country’s two-party system in order to “preserve liberty.”
“No matter your circumstance, I’m asking you to join me in rejecting the partisan loyalties and rhetoric that divide and dehumanize us. I’m asking you to believe that we can do better than this two-party system and to work toward it. If we continue to take America for granted, we will lose it,” he concluded.
Amash was the first Republican in Congress to call for impeachment proceedings against President Trump. He argued that special counsel Robert Mueller’s report showed Trump engaged in impeachable offenses while in office and that Attorney General William Barr knowingly misled the public about the key findings of the investigation.
In June, Amash stepped down from the House Freedom Caucus, a group of hardline Republicans who have become some of Trump’s biggest supporters. Amash was a founding member of the caucus.
President Trump reacted to Amash’s departure on Twitter, calling the Michigan lawmaker “one of the dumbest & most disloyal men in Congress.”

Louisiana Voters Have Left The Republican Party Since Us Capitol Insurrection
BATON ROUGE, La. Party registration data from the secretary of states office reveals that roughly 7,800 Louisiana voters have left the Republican Party since the attack on the Capitol on January 6.
Dips in registrants for the party have been seen around the country. A report from The New York Times found more than 100,000 Republicans left the party in a number of states in the weeks after the U.S. Capitol riots, and Louisianas voter registration numbers mirror that trend.
Tanner Magee, the second-ranking Republican in the Louisiana House as its speaker pro tempore, cited the challenges national politics creates for public officials at home.
;Im not sure theres anything that I can do on a state level other than try to be the best legislator I can and do the best for the state of Louisiana, and hopefully, if you have some people out there that are more state-focused in their thoughts, that might mean something to them, said Magee.
The Republican Party lost 5,503 registrants in January, 1,709 in February and 598 in March. The three months of losses came after more than 12 months of steady increases in Republican registrations.
Democrats lost over 8,000 voter registrations in Louisiana between January and April. But unlike the Republican Party, Democrats saw losses in most months in 2020 and 2021.
Many of the rioters have said they swarmed the Capitol to try to prevent Congress from certifying an election that former President Donald Trump had disputed.

Gop Registration Drop After Capitol Attack Is Part Of Larger Trend
WASHINGTON In the weeks since the January riot at the Capitol, there has been a raft of stories about voters across the country leaving the Republican Party. Some of the numbers are eye-catching and suggest that the GOP may be shrinking before our eyes, but a closer look at the numbers over time shows that a larger change has been working its way through the party for some time.
In fact, when one takes into account shifts in the composition of the Democratic Party, the real story seems to be more about a deeper remaking of the nations two major political parties.
To be sure, the headlines from the last few weeks have been striking, with multiple states reporting large declines in Republican voter registrations.
In Pennsylvania, more than 12,000 Republicans dropped the “R” from their registrations in January. In North Carolina, the figure was close to 8,000. In Arizona the figure was about 9,200 through late-January. And in one county in California, San Diego, more than 4,700 Republicans left the party last month.
Those are sizable changes and they are much larger than the moves away from the Democrats in those places, but they come with some caveats. There are always some losses and gains in registrations for the Democrats and Republicans. Partisan identity can be fluid for a large chunk of the voters, and remember: just because a voter is registered with one party doesnt mean he or she always votes for its candidates.
Analysis: Exodus Of Republican Voters Tired Of Trump Could Push Party Further Right
By Jason Lange, Andy Sullivan
6 Min Read
WASHINGTON – A surge of Republicans quitting the party to renounce Donald Trump after the deadly Capitol riot could hurt moderates in next years primaries, adding a capstone to Trumps legacy as president: A potentially lasting rightward push on the party.
More than 68,000 Republicans have left the party in recent weeks in Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, crucial states for Democrats hopes of keeping control of Congress in the mid-term elections in 2022, state voter data shows.
Thats about three times the roughly 23,000 Democrats who left their party in the same states over the same time period.
Compared to the Republicans who stayed put, those who fled were more concentrated in the left-leaning counties around big cities, which political analysts said suggested moderate Republicans could be leading the defections.
If the exodus is sustained, it will be to the advantage of candidates in the Republican Partys nomination contests who espouse views that play well with its Trump-supporting base but not with a broader electorate.
That could make it harder for Republican candidates to beat Democrats in November, said Morris Fiorina, a political scientist at Stanford University.
If these voters are leaving the party permanently, its really bad news for Republicans, Fiorina said.
U.S. elections are administered by state governments rather than by Washington.

The Three Types Of Republicans Donald Trump Created
Never Trumpers, the unlikeliest group of RINOs and Trump loyalists are fighting for the future of the party.
Donald J. Trump departed the White House on Wednesday and left a Republican Party turned upside down.
Many Republicans tried not to let Mr. Trump change things, vowing never to vote for him or work in his administration and to publicly shame those who did. Others bit their tongues and looked past his erratic behavior and racial grievances, justifying their indifference by pointing to the conservative policies he championed.
And there were others comprising the most vocal segment of elected Republicans and a considerable portion of the voters who helped Mr. Trump win 10 million more votes than he did in 2016 who are still with him, defying every last-straw prediction about the end of the iron grip Trump has on the G.O.P.
Here is a taxonomy of the types of Republicans Mr. Trump leaves in his wake.
Insurrection As A Turning Point
How much sway does Trump still have over the Republican party? | The Bottom Line
Roughly 4,000 of those who left the Republican Party did so after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in Washington An additional 69 Republicans left the party briefly, only to return during the same time period; they are not counted among the 6,670.
Since then, Republican leaders at the national level have chosen not to rebuke U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has suggested that the shootings at Sandy Hook and Parkland, Florida, were staged. Last month, only 10 out of 211 House Republicans voted to impeach Trump for incitement of insurrection.
These new Connecticut laws take effect on Oct. 1, from growing your own marijuana to new rules for employers »
Wharton, a former New Haven GOP chairman, said we probably wont know how many Connecticut Republicans make a permanent jump until things play out on the national level over the next few months.
We need to see national party first in terms of whos going to be taking charge and leading the effort to either a rebuild the party or continue with the message of the former president, he said. Im certain theres been multiple people in the U.S. Senate who will take note of this, and a couple of people in the U.S. House are developing a plan and an idea about rebuilding the Party.
The current numbers represent a quantum leap in terms of voters fleeing the GOP compared to the same period of time after the 2016 election, when Trump beat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Polling Data Shows Republican Party Affiliation Is Down As Independents Leaning Toward The Democratic Party Surge
Democrats have a nine-percentage-point affiliation advantage over Republicans at the moment.

The GOP is losing its grip, according to the latest Gallup poll.;
The number of Americans identifying as Republicans or as independents who lean toward the GOP dropped to 40% in the first quarter of 2021, compared with the number of Democrats or independents leaning toward the Democratic party hitting 49%. And that nine-percentage-point lead is the greatest Democratic advantage that Gallup has measured since the fourth quarter of 2012, when former President Barack Obama was re-elected.;
Gallup routinely measures U.S. adults party identification and the political leanings of independents. The latest poll surveyed a random sample of 3,960 U.S. adults by phone between January and March of 2021. And while Democratic Party affiliation actually dropped by one point from the fourth quarter of 2020, to 30% where it has hovered for most of the past eight years the number of Americans identifying as independent rose to 44% from 38% last quarter. And this growing number of independents came at the expense of the Republican party, as 19% of independents said they lean Democrat, compared with 15% leaning Republican. Most of the remaining 11% of independents didnt swing either way.;
And several events have happened during those three months that could position the Democratic Party more favorably in voters eyes, the Gallup report noted.;
The Message Hyperpolarization Doesn’t Work
Theres a message in the voter numbers. Republicans still lead the state, with nearly 35% of the vote. But independents aren’t far behind with more than 32% … and growing.
What it shows is the hyperpolarization seen in politics between the two major parties has been pushing folks to the independent column, pollster Mike Noble, of OH Predictive Insights, told me.;The only issue is, more are leaving the Republican Party than the Democratic Party and thats because they have a brand issue.
Noble chalks the declining Republican ranks up to their Looney Tunes audit.
We know a majority of independent or moderate voters dont believe the election was stolen, he said. Yet there is this audit going on that is not very transparent or professionally run.;The GOP as a brand, I believe it is impacting them and the registration numbers reflect that.
I hear from those voters all the time, principled Republicans who wonder when the party of conservative values became the cult of Trump.
Count Gary, of Scottsdale, among the 23,559 Republicans who have fled the party during the first three months of the;year. He’s been a Republican since 1972.;In February, he re-registered as an independent. He emailed me in a few weeks ago, right after Fann hired a member of the Stop the Steal movement;to conduct her independent audit of Maricopa Countys election.

But, for all the anxiety among Republican leaders, Goldwater prevailed, securing the nomination at the Partys convention, in San Francisco. In his speech to the delegates, he made no pretense of his ideological intent. Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice, he said. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. Goldwaters crusade failed in November of 1964, when the incumbent, Lyndon Johnson, who had become President a year earlier, after Kennedys assassination, won in a landslide: four hundred and eighty-six to fifty-two votes in the Electoral College. Nevertheless, Goldwaters ascent was a harbinger of the future shape of the Republican Party. He represented an emerging nexus between white conservatives in the West and in the South, where five states voted for him over Johnson.

THE STORY
They call you Hyperion. You lure those poor souls with sticky-sweet words, velvet smile and eyes that tell no story. But those who have seen you for you know better than to stay close. You are no longer the small, frightened figure from your past. It was all real for you, the smell of rotting food in the fridge, white powder and smoky crystals on the coffee table while your parents drifted off into another dimension. You do not know when your childhood ended and the rest began; what you do know is that somewhere in the middle, the anger and the frustration and sheer loathing began to pile up inside you, always threatening to spill over. Now, you pull the trigger a little too fast, and maybe you enjoy it just a little bit too much. Power is an addiction - you hold fear over your enemies’ heads but you must learn to look back, Hyperion. The darkness that rests inside may one day consume you whole.
CONNECTIONS
ORPHEUS - Naturally, not everyone was exactly welcoming towards Orpheus when they first officially became a part of the Titans. But they were the first to want to get to know you - the real you, and the two of you have been inseparable since then. Orpheus’ hurt is your hurt, and you’ve vowed to stay by their side until they’ve gotten justice for Eurydice once and for all.
ARES - It’s nothing personal against the new Ares that’s popped up after you’d killed the old one, but you don’t like unfinished business, and this is exactly what it feels like. There’s no rush, though - the new kid doesn’t look like they’ve got much up their sleeves, and you don’t really see any harm in toying with them for awhile, until you decide it’s the right time to finish them off.
PROMETHEUS - Just because you’re on the same team doesn’t mean you have to get along with Prometheus. Most people find you charming, but Prometheus seems to be able to see right through your mask. They always seem to be trying to get a rise out of you, and though Orpheus seems to think it’s Prometheus’ way of showing their fondness, you want nothing more than to bring them down a peg or two.

The first thing you ever learn is to stop asking for other people to save you.
Your mother is a wispy, pretty girl who feels alive with a joint between her fingers and white powder matted onto the seven dollar deep plum lipstick she wears when she is entertaining. The clients like her high and moaning and wanton, your father likes her worse. They think they are Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare pouring between yellowing teeth and growls from a toddler’s aching stomach.
Exit hope, pursued by a bear.
You learn the feel of your sister’s hand wrapped around your wrist in the dark of the closet your parents forget exists. Money comes and goes, but food is never there and you are hungry more often than you are fed. Vanessa learns to hide food from school in her bag and use it over the weekends. You learn to devour food when it is presented to you, swiping extras from the cafeteria kitchen and abandoned trays in the lunchroom. Teachers look at you with an equal amount of pity and disgust. People love poor children on television, when they can coo and aw and talk about how they wish they could help. Being faced with the reality of poverty make people turn and walk away.
Hands do not like to be dirty in real life.
Your father laughs and laughs and laughs at the look on your face when he finds your sister’s stash of food and swallows it early Friday night. Your father laughs and laughs and laughs when he gets high and starts undressing your mother before your sister can grab your hand and lead you out the door. Your father laughs and laughs and laughs, and he dies laughing, spit choked around a cigarette while he bleeds out in the belly from a gunshot hand delivered by his best friend.

You think, Augustus Ramsey introduced you to an evil you sit in the bottom of your stomach and the back of your throat like a lesson to be learned, a medal to be worn, a fear to be swallowed and swallowed and swallowed.
He is kinder, at first. There is food on the table, at first. Your sister stops shaking at night in fear of what comes through the door, at first.
At first.
Isn’t it the most tragic thing, “at first?” Isn’t it the most terrible and terrifying betrayal?
Augustus Ramsey is not a bad man, at first, not the kind of bad man you know. There is more than one type of cruel, and he has a talent for embodying as many as possible.
He sits in the dingy apartment like a tyrant over his kingdom. Your mother is a haze of pills and drugs and empty eyes that stare blankly into yours until the blackness of them bleed out onto the floor.
You think, there is more than one way to die.
You think, there are fates far worse than death.
Vanessa learns hiding and fear and soft spoken words. She hides behind the curtain of her hair, although the hand she keeps wrapped around your wrist is always strong. The look in her eyes in the wake of drunk anger and high indifference is always strong.
You learn to stop crying out, because it makes him laugh.
You want to learn strength, but strength seems so far away in the face of fear.
Strength is a strange thing when you’re ten. It’s knights battling dragons. It’s your sister standing tall as you walk down the street to her friend’s house, one hand in yours and the other wrapped around a pocket knife. It’s the calmness in which she walks into your classroom one morning and tells you you’re leaving.
You are fourteen years old, and your sister picks you up from the dirt and blood and muck and you find yourselves in Germany.
You don’t ask. She’s eighteen now and fresh out of school. She doesn’t speak German, but neither do you and, isn’t it fun, Alex? An adventure in a whole new world. The apartment is still dingy but you share it with two laughing, dreaming girls who reach for the stars and go through German vocabulary lessons with you between shifts and restaurants and dates with equally laughing and dreaming boys. You don’t ask, and you think, maybe I can be happy like this.
Maybe I can love this.
It’s a mess, but it’s good. It’s your sister breathing easy and smiling with dimples. It’s not looking over your shoulder for the first time. It’s not hiding in the closet with every slamming of the door. It’s not makeup routines designed to cover bruises instead of pimples.
It’s happiness, a strange kind, but you’ve already given up on the ones shown in the movies.
You were not made for soft, lovely things like happy ever after’s, but you think this is close enough. This, this can last.
Of course, you’re wrong.
You are fifteen and your sister dies in a car accident on a sunny day that stinks of intent.
You live with the two laughing, dreaming girls for another year before you move in with your boyfriend and follow him to Berlin. The old apartment is filled with the empty spaces your sister left. You feel like there are gaps in the expanse of your skin. Your wrist is empty and cold and thin and you never knew how breakable it was without your sister’s hand like armor around it.
Funny, how you realize things when it’s too late.
Your boyfriend has a dimple on his left cheek when he smiles and curly blonde hair and dark brown eyes that you can lose yourself in. He always carried flowers in his left hand and pulled you in for a kiss with his right. You don’t love Grant, not really, but the gleaming look in his eyes when trouble starts and the infectious sound of his laughter when he wins board games and pool is enough to make you think you could learn to trust him.
And baby, isn’t that something else?
He starts running with a gang in Berlin, some boys stirring up trouble and running on the high of luck. You smile at their antics and you keep your pocket knife on you at all times. You start running with them too after a few months. You can’t pinpoint why: maybe it’s the rush, maybe it’s because you’ve known for a while now that you were born to die young and you want to go out with a bang.
Your hands shake slightly the first time you use that pocket knife. You leave a trembling cut across a grabby man’s throat and Grant leans in and whispers in your ear:
Inhale courage.
Exhale fear.
The next time you cut someone, you do it like you mean it. There is a rush there, over the look in their eyes, that stark fear when they realize they’re bleeding out. It feeds your courage.
Inhale courage. Exhale fear.
You’ve always wanted to stop fearing the monster in the dark, so that is what you become.
And damn, you look so good as the devil. Walk into the club like trouble dressed as an angel. Your dark hair and dark eyes, a smile like you know exactly when the world is going to end. You’re a thief stealing hearts and charms and money, your red lips an imprint on their skin as you leave. Your little gang gains notoriety, and your own hand escalates. It feeds on you like an addiction, and it’s the closest you ever come to understand the high your parents chased to their graves.
How unforgettable this is.
How wonderful this is.
The world may think your boys are the ones to fear, but you and your little knife are the punishment people face when they cross you. The little one. The pretty one. You are the last one standing when they are all taken, one by one, for crimes they have and haven’t committed.
People underestimate you because you are young and pretty, and the world has always coveted young and pretty things to be glass and porcelain. Lovely, wonderful, breakable.
How wrong they are.
Richard Johnson walks into your occupied warehouse on a Tuesday night in a bespoke suit and he smiles as you turn to face him. There is something terrible in that smile, something earthshaking. In hindsight, you can’t be blamed for the way you smiled back. There sits something earthshaking in you too.
He asks for you. Not by name, no. No one has called you your name since you were sixteen and still breakable. He asks for you by reputation.
“Der kleine Mörder.” The little killer.
You step forward, little pocket knife in your right hand, and you ask this well dressed man what he wants.
“You.”
It is almost like wooing, after that. You learn about his reputation. His story. The King. The King wants you for his court, and for a moment you think he wants a pawn. A knight.
No. He wants a magician.
And haven’t you always been magic, learned charm and ease? Ruby Woo lipstick and smoky eyeshadow and everything the world has ever wanted? People feel at ease with you. You can shift and change shape. A cutie with a yellow hair ribbon and a heart too big for you not to trust. A beauty with winged eyeliner and high heels and a body they want to pray to. A terror with a knife and a wild smile and wilder eyes.
You are eighteen, almost nineteen, when you say yes to the King.
You are eighteen, almost nineteen, when you say yes to the rest of your life and the first group of people you will ever call family and mean it.
He gives you a test run when you are still new and you both don’t completely trust each other. He spent six months wooing you into this job. Now is time to prove you were worth it. You are a killer first, not his, but just a killer. It take adjusting, but your talent has always been in getting people to tell you things. Perhaps it’s because you understand fear and want and pain and need. It’s a power you keep close to your chest that makes you smile.
It’s not that you’re power hungry, no, but you understand the complete lack of it and you never want to go back to it again.
They name you interrogator. You are the truthmaker. Truth teller. Everything about you is a truth, even when it isn’t. The name you have Richard is a lie, but it is also your new truth. (“Ryan. Ryan Lee.”) The mask you wear is a lie, but it’s the truth others need to see to love you. To trust you. To fear you.
He names you Hyperion. Titan of Heavenly Light.
So you shine, darling, shine so bright the world goes blind before they beg to see you again.
It takes so long, but, you find yourself caring about this. Caring about them. Trusting them. You whisper your real name to Richard in the dark of the night. You hold Orpheus’s hand when it shakes with grief and pain and you are starkly reminded of your sister because like her they see you. They see you.
You are anger and pain and terror.
Inhale courage.
Exhale fear.
You, like all wolves and witches and monsters before you, bleed. Bleed. And bleed. And bleed on everything the world loves. They love you, anyways. They trust you, anyways. They encourage this, anyways. Power feeds you like blood feeds the gods. And you hold power over your enemies. Over their enemies. Over Berlin.
You will never have history books printed in your name, no statues erected in your honor, no priestess on a pedestal regaling your honor, but in the moment with your gun in your hand and your finger on the trigger, you let yourself think this: I am a God.
You are young and beautiful and terrifying, and hasn’t the world always trembled before such things? Before glorious things?
You are ready to be unleashed and Richard points the Titans to New York.
“Make an impression. I want you to tell the world, ‘Here I am.’” Richard tucks the request under a smile like family, holding it above you like a challenge he knows you are dying to conquer.
Make an impression.
And damn, did you fire the gunshot heard around Olympus.
Olympus’s own boogeyman falls and they find him in pieces across the dock. You tie your favorite ribbon around his head like a present and sign your name
Hyperion.
The Titans are coming for war, for revenge, for chaos, for the throne.
Are you ready?
You’ve always been half heaven, half hell. Give them a crimson smile, my love, they will never be prepared for you.

MASTERLIST KO-FI.
It could be argued that coincidences are a myth. After all, the universe is rarely that lazy…Though believe it or not, sometimes this all mighty power comes to rest for just a moment and let’s fate run its course in whichever way it pleases.
It was a rosy spring afternoon in your 6th year as you made your way to the library, confined by your own presence – the fancy blue tinted robe, neatly polished skirt and a dress shirt of the finest cotton was ironed to perfection, the tight braid of chocolate hair curved nicely, though making you seem stiff and cold. With your eyes directed at the edge of your shoes, you continued in a much faster pace, alone. No surprise there, you were always alone.
The smell of parchment and ink, the pleasant creaking sound of a newly opened book and the buzzing low chatter, one that closely resembled gentle rain hitting glass, always made you feel at ease and you relaxed, inhaling deeply before giving a meek nod at the librarian who only greeted you with a fake smile. You got lost in the maze of shelves, reaching way above your head, as your eyes ran over series of titles and colorful covers. Every so often you’d stand on your tippy-toes and reach up to grasp an edge of an interesting tomb, letting it rest in your embrace as you continued to move with no particular direction in mind. You faltered when a sharp, though suppressed, laugh hit the back of your neck and you turned back: by the tables, illuminated by open windows and carrying a scent of wet wood and ink, sat three Ravenclaw students and a Slytherin, all eyes directed at your form. You faltered. The free flow of your thoughts came to an abrupt stop. They were talking about you again. Of course they were. They were always talking. The nameless students continued to whisper, even after you left with shame heating your cheeks.
You found an empty table, which was relatively easy – everyone was mostly enjoying the weather outside or still droning away in classes. Placing the books by your side you took out everything you needed to start on your essay – granted, not all of these writings were needed to finish homework, some were just picked for your own personal enjoyment. You carefully unwrapped the parchment, tenderly inked your quill and delicately swirled the letters of your name on the top of the paper. It was almost like a carefully rehearsed scene from a play.
Down two paragraphs, and completely immersed, you didn’t notice a figure hoovering above your neck watching your graceful movement with a sense of awe and confusion. The screeching of a chair coming from your left ear made you halt and stare at the student who decided to take a seat beside you. Draco Malfoy wore an indifferent expression, taking out his things with little grace and only when he was finished did he finally acknowledge you. His piercing ice eyes connecting with your own and instantly making your nervous. Your fingers tightened around your quill. Draco flicked his brows up as if to ask whether you had a problem with him occupying a spare seat. You were tempted to say that yes, you were, but couldn’t bring yourself to do so.
“You’re as strange as everyone says you are.” The comment struck you and you hurriedly looked away, your cheeks flaring a bright red as a certain bitter taste settled on the edge of your tongue. “Don’t act like it’s a bad thing. It’s refreshing.” Your heart skipped a beat and you managed to form a small innocent smile. You almost thought the conversation, completely one sided mind you, would end there and so you leaned into your essay about to get back to writing when “—You’re (Name) (Lastname), right?”
You cleared your throat, “Yes.” You replied softly.
“I guess I don’t need an introduction?” Was that really a question?, “How come I never see you around?”
“Is…is there a specific reason why you should?” You questioned, uneasily flicking your eyes up to see what he was up to. You wished you hadn’t. Lazily he rested his head in his hand, bored icy eyes carefully examining your face: from the nervous tick of your brow, to an array of freckles, like stardust, dotted over (colour) complexion, the cupids bow of reddened lips you bite so often, and lastly the long forest of lashes that hid a magnificent (colour) iris. You felt a strange sense of purpose as he looked at you – neither ashamed, nor confined or as if a bug under a magnifying glass. On the contrary, it was pleasant – it felt as if he saw you, the you behind a pure-blood name and expensive chic clothes. The you behind a book, or a shade of shyness. It was scary, in a way, but completely freeing.
He shrugged, an action that seemed so terribly late in your inner clock when in reality only but a couple of silent seconds had passed, “No, not really.” He told, a confident smile pulling on the corner of his lips, “I wouldn’t mind, though.”
They say love can bloom in a gaze. And they, whoever they are, may be right in this case.
It took a great deal to realize so. Years passed, changes were quick and concrete and absolutely terrifying. Whilst you didn’t have it as rough in your final year, some of your unlucky muggle born friends were tortured and humiliated and there wasn’t much you could do. It took all of the courage you had to step in and stop a Slytherin student from crucifying an innocent second year, and even more of a stone cold face to make him apologize for defying you. The power was in the blood, you had learned, but you didn’t have the heart in you to use it for ill gain, despite everyone around you tempting you to do so. You joined an alliance – while you never exactly fancied Harry Potter, nor had the pleasure of conversing with him outside of a shy hello from his part when he wanted to copy homework – you admired his love for his friends and his cause. In a way you felt as if you were betraying your love, Draco Malfoy, as you couldn’t help him with whatever he was going through. Over the time the two of you had spent together, mainly somewhere remote since you’d feel more relaxed there, he has carried many secrets either to save you the pain of knowing them or not trusting you enough to come clean. You hoped it was the first.
And now, as you lay in the rubble of the Finale Battle, disoriented and in pain, you gasped for air and felt tears prickle on the surface of your eyes. Dust and shards tickled your throat, the disgusting smell of spilled blood making you nauseous. You coughed, trying to free your lungs of pests and it was good that you did so – distant footsteps grew louder and harsher and before you had realized what happened you heard your name leaving trembling lips. It was Draco, you conducted, though could not find the energy to look at him, instead staring at the clouds of smoke melting into the clear blue sky. You were exhausted. You were hurt. Your wand most likely shattered, and so did some of your bones. But what you had shown there, in from of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was as brave as it was idiotic, and while you shone like a star in your friends’ eyes you now paid for it with nearly losing your life. The cruciatus curse is not deadly, the very core of it is to torture enough to keep alive, but madness after a public display of intense suffering was welcoming. Bellatrix Lestrange did you good, you recalled, how blissfully she laughed as you screamed while the rest stared in disbelieve. There was always hope, however, and your suffering despite being agonizing didn’t last long.
Bits and pieces of what happened started to resurface in your mind along with a headache. He called you by name again, pushing away heaps of debris with his hands before waiving his wand and creating a clear path to you. He was almost desperate, shaking with relief as he threw his wand to the side and knelt before you. His rough hands came to roam on your face, making sure that you still had a shed of consciousness left, before with a low mumbled he easily picked you up. The sudden action made you flinch and spring to life, your neck cranking to look at him before you groaned and closed your eyes from the shooting pain. The spinning yard did not help either.
“What you did…” He spoke lowly, almost venomously, but you knew it was his strange way of expressing worry, “Was stupidly dangerous.”
“But it worked.”
“Barely.” Draco spat, “You’re hurt.”
You cracked a smile, “Figured as much. But please…I can stand on my own.”
“Don’t. Don’t even suggest that. I’m carrying you there whether you like it or not.”
The humorous smile eased and shone with certain softness, your iris implying a tone of affection that was directed at him, only at him. Draco failed to notice this, too caught up in his own whirlwind of feelings and the shattering relief of you being alive. You came to rest your head on his chest, the rapid thuds of his heart echoing into your earlobe. You closed your eyes, the quietness of the yard, the sense of freedom from the won battle, and the security and warmth from being in your lovers arms providing a shed of happiness – a feeling you didn’t have the luxury to feel for a very very long time. You didn’t feel an ounce of gloom as silently you drifted off to sleep.
Draco didn’t stop to mumble, though. His eyes never stopped to rapidly roam the ruined castle, or to admire the peaceful expression on your face. He stopped on the top of the stairs, knowing that once he enters the castle, once he sets foot into the Great Hall, your family will rush you and pry you away from him. Then his parents will come and escort him home. Who knows how long it will be till he sees you again?
Perhaps this sudden shyness was something he picked up from spending so much time with you. He was calmer knowing you couldn’t hear him. This wasn’t the most romantic setting, but the weight in his heart urged him to say it and say it now before he’d changed his mind again. He inhaled, sharply, hating the scent of your blood clinging to his skin, instead pushing himself to focus on the happy things, as chiche as that would sound.
“I love you.” A confession had never been so swift and freeing.
REQUEST:  So: Draco x Ravenclaw girl. They are maybe on 5th/6th year in Hogwarts. She is shy and cute brunette but also she is pure blood, from this big well  known respected family, with ‘big name’ who everybody knows. She wears this new fancy clothes, have everything new and clean and all but she doesn’t like it. She is shy, clumsy, goofy while she should be a lady. She has no friends because everyone thinks that she is just like Draco: rude and mean but really? She totally isn’t. She is helpful and cute, kind and smart and not asshole at all.She have only a few true friends in her house, nowhere more. They (Draco and her) met by accident, idk, near library or something. He looked at her and find her really attractive but not because she is well-dressed and rich. He looked at her face and just knew she is good person. Expensive stuff,  respected name and all of this - it was just a addition. He fell for her because who she was, not what she have. Of course people were mean to them, tell them “you are worth yourselves” and stuff but. When the Battle of Hogwarts was fought this girl show, that she is worth so much more than she have. She fought so bravely, nearly get killed, almost lost an arm. Everyone was wrong about her. She deserved respect and friendship because of this battle and she totally get it.And! They find each other after battle, Draco found her in ruins in blood and we have happy end. Of course he expose himself to Voldemort and almost get killed but he want her, all he want is to see her alive again.
