So the other night I had a dream. Where first of all, HBO Max dropped all of S2 with no warning and no lead up at all, which pissed me off because I had to call out of work because gay pirates come first. BUT I remember some of what went down, and I had to share:
Don’t remember much about the rest of the season, but I remember episode eight (the season finale) was called Pirates In Moonlight
The ending shot was on the Revenge, after some battle. Everything around them was all battered but it seemed like the ship had survived
They were standing in silhouette of the moon again like in ep 5 but it was a thin crescent moon, not full. Personally I assume it was a waning crescent bc the new moon symbolizing new beginnings and all that
They were wearing ragged, bloody clothes, because they’d just been through a battle
Ed was proposing. He didn’t have a ring or anything though, so he had that FREAKIN RED SILK and he tied it around Stede’s wrist
Anyway I need them back I need them to be happy together 💖 please and thanks
crying thinking about Your Name hours anyway I can’t get over the date scene where Taki is absolutely crashing and burning and Miss Okudera says it’s like he’s a different person and how they walk through a museum showing pictures of Mitsuha’s town before it was destroyed but the audience and Taki don’t Get That Yet and the entire time her voice over explains the date and her theme plays in the background and at the end Taki finally tries to call her only for it to not go through because she’s already gone like ough the entire scene is defined by Mitsuha’s absence despite the fact that she’s EVERYWHERE in it
like it’s the moment that Taki realizes maybe he’s been in love with her the entire time but it’s narratively essentially Mitsuha’s funeral because it’s too late she’s been dead this entire time and it isn’t until Taki literally begs the gods for a chance to go back and save her that she returns to the story...
and even then, after all of that, he spends the one final chance he has to talk to her and maybe see her again telling her that he loves her....because that’s what’s important to him, that’s why he did all this, that’s why he nearly died to give her a chance to save herself and so many others, because he loves her
Loki looks down at his hands. They do not shake like he had been expecting them to. He clenches them into fists, just to prepare for the possibility, but when he loosens them again, his hands remain relatively still.
"Loki?" Thor asks cautiously. Loki looks up and spots the concerned glint in his eyes. He isn't frightened like Loki feels like he should be.
Of course Thor isn't frightened.
He knows nothing.
"What is that ship, Brother?" Thor asks, like that title is not a lie. "Who is in there?"
Loki could say many things. Thanos, the destroyer of worlds or Thanos, the Mad Titan. He could say, the harbinger of my doom or the one who promised me something worse than death, and I don't know what exactly that is. He could even say, the one who destroyed me and tried to build me back up.
But Loki still has invisible cracks that only he can feel, and he doesn't think he will ever completely heal.
Thor doesn't need to know any of this, though. All Thor needs to know is how to survive this, how to escape this, and Loki will help him get there.
