ghosting by antimonicacid: really fantastic character study for claude and dimitri. honestly has one of my favorite pre ts dimitris in a fic bar none maybe. this has very quintessential dmcl energy bc theyre so… gentle w each other in this fic? idk i love it. great dedue cameo

the ground all around, it was always holy by themorninglark: really beautiful pre ts dimitri character study from claude’s perspective. the writing in this fic is stunning, and the development of their relationship is so compelling and wonderful. this one sort of breaks my heart but it’s not sad the writing just kind of makes me ache a bit.

dreams, they’re for those who sleep by longboyzone: really intimate moment near the end of white clouds that really captured me. i’ve reread this one a lot and i think abt it. also features gentle dmcl. would recommend the other two one shots by this author as well. they’re all really good

celestially written by aetherae: this fic is so good to me i’m obsessed with it? the whole series actually. it just hits so many dmcl buttons for me but basically it’s a joint route vw/am fic where claude takes the hit for dimitri after gronder rather than rodrigue. except like instead of being abt any of that it’s like 13k of people gossiping abt when dmcl is actually gonna get together and it’s. so. good. the outsider pov dmcl in this one just hits idk what else to say. they also have a bunch of other dmcl fics i’ve read that are really good but they’ve written like 30+ fe fics so i’d say just check their profile out!

lion in the mist by trilies: this fic has really stuck so me since i first read it probably because it’s so unique? this has claude (+ the deer) coming across dimitri midskip while traveling to fraldarius. i really love how both dimitri and claude are handled in this fic, idk you can tell the author is handling them both deliberately and with care? and the atmosphere this fic creates is really fantastic. they also are rather prolific so i’d check out their page as well. bc they have so much good dmcl

wear your colours by metallic_sweet: okay i said i wouldn’t do anything you could find on the first few pages of the ao3 tag but this was my first joint route fic and it lives in my heart for a lot of reasons. honest to god some of the best fe3h world building i’ve read in a fic like fodlan feels like a place here that contains 3 nations with distinct cultures. also this fic really takes seriously how dark the world of fodlan truly is without making dmcl ‘darker’ than they are as well? it’s a delicate balance and they do it fantastically. has an unfinished sequel (also worth reading—the whole series is, but dmcl isn’t the focus of every fic) that breaks my heart every day.

Like it isn’t old information we’re going off of. This happened like four chapters ago, and the story’s Deus Ex Machina admitted it himself without a single ounce of guilt, literally complaining that the world tree asked it of him.

A while ago I fought with an avid Lucas stan who absolutely refused to believe Lucas was a bad person. I brought up that one scene where he literally went “If Athy dies, I will blow Obelia and the world up” and they went “but he only thought about it so he didn’t do anything wrong :(((“

And I could literally only stare at the screen. Blinking my shock away. Like ok, if I think of committing mass genocide, it’s ok? Not a single thing about me is flawed or a heavy red flag, I’m the purest bean in the world?

I pray to the gods that Athy doesn’t marry Lucas because he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Obelia or the world. All of the men in the story suck, but please don’t give the throne or shared title of the throne to a man who openly admits and bemoans about how their parent told them to save a civilization from perishing from a slow, painful death giving disease. If you’re going to marry anyone, meet a new person idk, just someone who’s a decent person? Especially when lately. Athy has been so serious and focused about becoming a good empress and ruler. Like she’s actually serious serious, I don’t think she’s ever been so determined about something other than living. The first step would probably be to make sure your partner at least cares about humans.

I feel like avid Lucas and Claude apologists would acknowledge how terrible the two are if the story actually framed their actions seriously. Claude’s done so many things people love to ignore and/or forget about I could practically write a book, and we’ve already mentioned the thing about Lucas. The story mentioned it so quickly and almost like an offhand comment. When you’re scrolling really fast because you’re reading or mostly look at the pretty art, you don’t notice the heavier, more implied and intricate details.

There was maybe three panels of that one scene. Him going “oh yeah, sometimes the world tree would tell me annoying stuff like ‘go save these people suffering’ and I was like nah that’s stupid because you’re annoying”, and then Athy making a face. But that was literally it.

I’m honestly kinda?? Lokey disappointed it didn’t focus on that fact more? Like Athy was an orphan, she had to fend for herself just to survive. And this man just admitted to her. This all powerful, practically godlike plot device. He just admitted he has the power to save multiple countries suffering all over the world. But simply doesn’t because it’s annoying. It honestly reminds me of billionaires, officials, and etc in our modern world? Like you have all this money and power, and you use it for either luxury or proffit or just plain old selfish hate when you could end poverty and world hunger. We are literally taking our steps into a world war three, people are dying and suffering everywhere, and people who have the power simply choose not to use it.

If people liked Lucas because of his looks and personality, Athy could easily just find someone similar to Lucas. There are so many handsome men in the world of WMAMP who have a sarcastic, teasing nature that I’m pretty sure her options aren’t limited to the Apathetic Plot Device Who Would Definitely Call Me Slurs If He Found Out I Was Gay and The Kid Who Walked Into Her Private Library Once. We literally have Helena’s brother and ‘the lone wolf’ as potential interests right there. Or hell, what about Cabel or the Arlantan Prince? Siodonnan Royalty??? Why doesn’t anyone make self insert OCs to ship with Athy, because honestly any option is better than the two we have.

I’m not asserting my opinions or conclusions as the only viable to interpret this media, and if anything I say offends you then I am sorry, it was not my intention but I acknowledge that I have hurt you. This is not the exhaustive list of my thoughts on the whole thing, there’s a lot more depth and detail I didn’t go in to.

My favourite thing about Edelgard is the Everything, but notably I really love her proud nature and how in VW it quite directly gets her *spoilered*, and in CF it’s integral to her success (bc it’s her own rigidity within herself that keeps her standing i think) and I Like Tragic Characters (and it’s very elinor dashwood). because it’s one of the qualities that can throw her character into a villainous light & it’s really interesting !! but at the same time.. it’s not quite ‘pride’ purely, and it’s kinda the wrong word. it’s some mixture of determined/stubbon, anger, self-reliance, and that really hard veneer of personality u develop when you’re around people who aren’t healthy for you to be around, and the very very critical need to be right about the choices you made because the weight of the  consequences would kinda ruin you if you weren’t. (the dean winchester effect huh) and wrap that up together with a big scoop of ‘i believe my way is right’ (’and my way Has to be right’) and then u get a lot of what i LOVE about Edelgard’s character

My favourite thing about Dorothea is really how she was the character that Hated the war. genuinely the contrast between white clouds dorothea & timeskip dorothea Breaks My Heart EVery Time I See Her !!!!! that and Spoilers!!! (her last words in AM unrecruited is edelgards name and i literally had to stop and cry about it for five minutes.) she’s one of the characters that post-war doesn’t have a Massive political stake in the war - like there’s her anger towards the current class system (another reason i bloody love her PLEASE give me angry feminine characters) but i think it’s her bonds with edie (or byleth&whoever if recruited) that keep her actually fighting in the war & it’s kinda different and i like that (actually i think she parallels/sends up/contrasts really really nicely with mercedes in that way)

my favourite thing about Marianne is just everything. how she finds worth within herself if you play VW (and the very very harrowing hc that she didn’t if you don’t), how she’s full of a quiet rage for the crest system but you eek it out of her as you play the game. how she’s still loved by the deers despite her appalling mental health (fight me on that canon) and the game essentially has her ‘save’ herself by finding worth and life within herself. i love her so much ok. (i also love her because she committed identity theft.. she and i share a name with the second dashwood sister oho (but i don’t use that name on the internet hhh) (also because my favourite shakespeare play is king lear (no really it is), my birthday is in red wolf moon too, i used to have very long hair i wore in a plait most days for school, little 11 and 17 year old me acted Exactly like white clouds marianne did & genuinely i love marianne von edmund to pieces but God it hurts to see her in game sometimes bc her journey mirrors a lot of mine & i love this character. so much.) WOW that was a lot. am i sure im not still drunk

so claude is not only one of my favourite characters in the whole damn game, but also shares the name of one of my favourite painters so i simply have to love him ;p however i can’t give a proper opinion on him yet because i haven’t finished playing deers yet :( but !! i love how (as is with all the lords) he has a veneer of personality to him, but in contrast to Edie where it’s quite seemless with her actual personality, Claude’s veneer of personality seems very opaque and plastered on. i may or may not just be wildly imagining things but he’s a very different personality in his lower supports with Lysithea than he is in his B support with Marianne, for instance. like, i love characters that are obviously a lot more socially intelligent than i could ever be, and claude is *chef kiss* BEAUTIFUL ON EVERY LEVEL.

i’d wax lyrical about Ingrid too but honestly there’s many better people out there with the good ingrid content than i could do. shortly, i love the New Take on the pegasus knight archetype she brings, and i really like her perspective on femininity !!! she’s such a good character & she brings so much to the game and to the pegasus knight character too!!!!! she’s such a bright personality and altho i wish so many of her supports weren’t centred around make-up (hhh dorogrid fans i pray for you), i think she’s really going to pave the way for whoever’s next in that character slot. (like, you can’t tell me she’s not an offshoot of Phila from awakening lmao)

no ok i’m adding in Hubert because i love this vampire man. i really really love the devoted servant archetype and we all know i love edelgard’s tragedy. and i love hubert. so much. the way he enables edelgard in pretty much everything is just so so interesting to think about, and i love his intensity about it. he’s like the ever present reminder that edelgard’s will kinda has to work otherwise the potential consequences of her being wrong are personified in hubert imo. it’s only touched on in VW in his letter but like. god i wish we got more but it’s a wonderful starting block. i love his comic relief as well, he’s such a fun character to have !!!! and also i have so many hubert fics in my bookmarks that just Get him. i love hubert. oh i love hubert.

i’m going to cut myself off there because . that’s just a LOT. 

as for characters i would sell a limb to have them talk to each other, honestly it’s Edelgard/Marianne. (and only 51% because of all the projection i have going on with those two ok don’t at me i  k n o w). that support chain would be too powerful and honestly i wish they had one becuauese it would have gone so Hard about what Edelgard was doing and what Marianne thought about it, and how they connected over it & they probably would have had their supports set over cups of tea or smth .. it would have been amazing. 

(but i’d rather have nothing than an awakening-level-content support where they talk about eating fucking bear meat instead of talking about how they grew to trust each other with and their ability to save the fate of the world HUH AWAKENING. (i’m salty about fredrobin forever)

also hilda/dorothea supports . we were robbed. they’re best friends and you can’t actually tell me otherwise. they run the disaster bi chat of garreg mach. honestly i just would Love a support chain for them that starts with them talking about self care routines and something really small like accessories or perfume and it goes into how self-esteem and how dorothea has to find the same worth in herself as hilda so easily can. (hilda’s the queen of self esteem she’s a babe) and in CF they could have dialogue and then we cry about it. and in SS they talk about how they both chose their place with Byleth and not at edie/claude’s side like i’m just free balling here it could be Anything and i’d love it. 

also big shocker .. dorothea/marianne supports . they both hate themselves in their profile CAN THEY PLEASE CHAT. 

also i accidentally fell in love with the claude/edelgard ship and i desperately need them to interact on the same level that edie and dimitri get to because.. aren’t there supposed to be three main characters huh intsys .. and like i get what the game goes for with two of the lords embroiled in a personal war against each other at the heart and the third actually finding something close to the truth because he’s not involved in age old grudge matches but at the same time That’s one of the things that really really falls flat for me in the game. dimitri’s villain is edie, edie’s villain is big dragon wife, claude’s villain is the lack of communication that everyone in fodlan suffers from apparently. lack of communication and lies. ymmv with what im saying rn but i would have preferred if all three lords had strong personal ties to each other and in Each Route it was brought up. or just snip dimitri’s dialogue out of CF because i have beef with how that WHOLE moment went down on so many accounts hhhh honestly it makes me angerey to think about lol

.. back on topic- can the lords pls talk to each other because it would be SO interesting in white clouds and i like seeing how their personality presentations clash

First off, obviously Claude is my favorite in terms of being best husband and also being the one to unite Fódlan. When I first played fe3h and read the books on how the church of seiros started, i immediately start to suspect them of not being the "pious" leaders of Fódlan, especially when during a quest, Rhea says something along the lines that those who oppose the church will suffer fates worse than death (or smth).

I love that claude doesn't pay heed to the rules and wants to know the truth of things. Why do people do this? Why do they decide to listen to a woman that never comes down to Fódlan? It's this curious and never-back-down nature of Claude that I love him so much.

There's also the thing where Claude truly didn't want to kill Edelgard or Dimitri. Im at that point in verdant wind where they'll prepare to trek for Shambhala and i really cant pinpoint on how big of a weight claude must be weighing on his shoulders. Sure, the Empire's done for but the fact that he couldn't rest and mourn (or maybe it happened off-screen, who knows) for Dimitri or Edelgard is making me wonder how much he's hiding from his friends and the player.

(also long post ahead) im a new kuro blog and i just wanted to share some of my standings/opinions on certain kuro topics and certain things/characters/ships that i like and also some things i don’t like ! (also u can ask if i dont state smth u wanna know) i wanted 2 do this just so ppl know in case they rly dont or do agree w/ me on smth

 so 2 of the most important things to state for me just to get it out of the wat, seba//ciel and other pedo/incest ships are freaking gross and dont follow me if u support them!! ciel and alois are csa survivors and its nasty that yall would ship em with adults!

i use she/her pronouns for grell bc she is a trans women!

personally i hc grell as straight but ive seen a lot of other ppl call her bi or lesbian which i also think is cute!

some of my most favs are grell, undertaker, (those 2 are my most favorite), seb, claude (ill talk a lil bit more abt them after this point), snake, william, ronald, othello, basically all the shinigami lol, bardoy, finn, lau, ash/angela, joker, doll, vincent, agni, soma, and probs a few others i cant think if rn. and i havent read a lot of the manga as of rn (but i know whats happening) so sry if i didnt list a lot of the characters that have been shown in the manga and not the anime !

im rly invested in this franchise and i love all the characters and they story is so interesting and cool, i love the theories, fanart and fanfics ppl share!!

grell is such a strong and important character and i love her!! i could write a whole essay abt her but i might save that for later :,,))

i like to think that in modern age a lot of grim reapers from the show would still be serving their sentence

and since its been shown the grim reapers are much more advanced than humans, i think that at some point othello studied trans surgeries and was able 2 give grell the sex change shes always wanted :,,) 

i personally agree with the theory that ut is o and r ciels grandfather and was someway in a relationship w/ claudia whether they were married or lovers. i like 2 think they were married even though it would make some more things confusing but i just think theyre so dang cute!! i think most ppl agree w/ this theory lol

ut just wanted his family and funky grandkids 2 be happy and everything turned to big poopoo garbage and i feel so sad for him :(( i think he got messed up even more after the manor burned down and wanted to use his doll expeiriments to try and bring back rciel (even tho thats not how u mourn but hes just that desperate) he might not be as close to the phantomhives in his backstory as i think he is but i just like to think he is lol bc i just rly like cute happy families

ive seen only a few ppl do this, but ive seen ppl that hate on seb for being horrible and abusive and like i dont rly get why? like obviously hes not the best bc hes a literal demon and just wants his soul in the end and in canon they arent friends but hes never literally abused ciel :/ bad morals and bad ppl is like one of the main themes of the show so its not supposed to be all sunshine and rainbows lol. if u rly look at it, all the characters in kuro have an unlikeable/bad quality abt them. theres barely any characters that havent dont anything wrong. not saying that ciel and all the characters are monsters tho! yana stated herself that ciel is supposed to have bad qualities. idk if any of that made sense lol its like 3 am rn

personally i like to hc that seb and ciel r like funky pals that care for eachother even just a lil bit (not in a shipping way i mean a friend/guardian way). maybe in an au lol

i like the aesthetic and characters in season 2, but imo its the worst season in the anime bc the story line and motives of the characters kinda flopped lol. even tho i know its bad, i still like it mainly cause of the characters that were introduced

i like claude, i like his aesthetic and he actually differs from seb in a lot of ways. his plan 2 achieve his motive to eat ciels soul was super dumb tho, hes a cool character but also a dumbass lol which is why ill laugh at jokes making fun of him.

but unlike seb i actually do think claude emotionally manipulated alois and killed him even tho he didnt deserve it. claude didnt “care” for alois like how seb “cares” for ciel (if that makes sense) seb actually had done a lot to protect ciel and obey his orders and the contract, but claude literally just said fu and killed him just so he could get another kids soul lmao

and once again, pedo ships are gross and horrible!!!

Favorite soundtrack?oh hmmm.. they all have great osts but.. sonic mania? i love all the different songs for each zone, the ones that weren’t new to mania getting remixes that make the classic songs have even more of a charm to them.. each one sets the mood for the specific zone you’re in.. rush also has some really nice songs that  get me pumped up22.) IN LUDICROUS DETAIL.ohhhh boy i wanted this one!! i’ve had quite a few actually. aaahhhuh i dont remember all of them too well? but ill talk about the most memorable. first off, once i had a dream that took place in a few of my mutual’s discord server. stahn/claude was one of the main people in the dream, because they were kin mario and suddenly had a sudden urge to fucking murder me, because i was a sonic kinnie. i mentioned it in a rabbit once and everyone went wild. i should clarify claude is not a mario kinnie. this was only in the dream

the second one. it was right before e3, and i knew mario and sonic would be playable at e3 so i was really hyped for, maybe gadget or infinite in it? but the in the dream i had. 1: sakurai lied about a new dlc character being announced. 2, what’s actually sonic related: i pictured a really really cool reveal for ray and mighty in the olympic games in my dream. i wanted to draw it eventually but idk if ill ever find time anymorethird.. uhhhh. it was waaay different. i was literally sonic in the dream! it wasnt a kin memory dream cause it was such a weird dream it wasnt even possible in the sonic universe. possible tw warnings: guns, injuries, blood, bladesso uhh basically. almost every single fuckin character. i dont remember exactly where we were. but we were all together. and for some reason we were in danger (again i forget why) and there was this chest full of diffferent types of guns. everyone got a gun, even the children. the funniest fucking image is seeing charmy and cream with guns. and then me, and sonic, being a dumbass, decided to grab one of the weirdest looking guns and test it out if it had ammo. it shot out, like, a blade? and it cut the bottom of my foot. it was bleeding like crazy but it only felt like a fuckin. cat scratch. so i didnt really mind it. i got use to the gun after a while, it was kinda like a bow n arrow in gun form except the bow was this big blade. i wish i could explain it betternjdfngkjfdanyway uhh smth happen and 90% of the characters were about to be trapped in like. a cave? and i either had the choice of going down in the cave with them to try and help or stay outside with cream and a few others (i only remembered cream through out this whole dream honestly). i decided not to go into the cave and cream got really fucking mad at me. and then it ended. i.. dont fucking know eitherKJFDNJKIFGNIDStw endmore below it gets kinda.. angry and ranty and long so Be Careful im angery

Ramble about anything that’s Sonic-related! :> im so sorry anon. i wanted to ramble about something happy and positive, really, but.. im really angry about the writing. it’s more of a rant, then a ramble..i get mad about sega’s writing when it comes to sonic in this so if you dont wanna read that. you can skip it. also tw bestiality mention and i do talk about the recent okko episode a bit

uhhhh hmm.. well. i really like the series! it has a lot of good things.. but it also has bad things, as everything does.notably, the writing.it was good at first! im glad it had any big story at all and didnt go the path mario did, with barely any lore and, oh no peach is gone you gotta go save her the end (paper mario has lore but thats like. spin off so it doesnt count). the series instead went with lore. the sa1-shth games have wonderful writing, characters showing actual sympathy, not being douchebags. amy wasnt so much of a “my only goal in life is to be with sonic” character during those games. in sa1, she had a friendship with gamma. she was upset that eggman created gamma and the other e series robots without any emotion, that they would never be able to feel. she felt bad for the poor robot. how could you live a life without feelings? when gamma eventually had become emotional, that was when amy had to set free the animal inside of them, thus ending gamma’s life, when they just learned to feel. in sa2, shadow was seen as a copy of sonic, called a faker, just another villain. but we’re shown his backstory, a tragic one at that. he misses maria, but continues to move on for her. the others try to help him, specifically rouge. shadow isn’t a dickhead to her. they’re like family, despite not knowing each other that long. heroes. amy has more of the “sonic is my boyfriend haha” attitude but some of the writing is still very good. big is written especially well here, caring for his other teammates. shth, shadow isn’t a dickhead. even in the dark endings, he isnt a huge asshole. sure, he’s evil in those endings, but he doesn’t have a huge fucking attitude. in the true ending, he discovers, he isnt a weapon. he is himself. he’s told this by his own creator- hell, someone he probably considers his own dad. gerald even calls him son in this specific cutscene. the development is heartwarming, how he may not know too much about his past but as he comes to understand and remember certain things, shadow can become the opposite of the weapon he thought he was and black doom intended him to be, and save the earth.and then the modern games come in.sega pushes sonamy on us harder than ever before. shadow’s an asshole. rouge is 18 so she gets to be the sexy character. big is treated TERRIBLY (yes this is about tsr). shadow basically fucking doesnt CARE about not being a weapon. all his fucking development in the past games. he’s just “i have to beat sonic no matter what haha” and its so fucking frustrating. im sick of the tiniest references to maria and gerald. with his fucking douchebag personality in the modern games the whole sa2 shth backstory may as well not have happened! would someone, still recovering from amnesia, but knowing stuff about his family and knowing that they want him to have fun BE A GIANT FUCKING PRICK?and then oh. amy. amy. i fucking HATE what they did. they fucking think an UNDERAGE relationship is ok. amy’s whole fucking character: yeeted! cya! goodbye! whahahshsgs fucking. knuckles and big. they had an actual good personality but now they’re just the big idiots! knuckles is gullible as fuck, and we make fun of big so our game is funney..sega YOU CAN MAKE SHADOW BE COMPETITIVE WITHOUT HIM BEING A PRICK06. a great idea. AND DONT YOU BITCHES SAY ‘WHO ELSE’ ORBOT AND CUBOT COULDVE SHARED A FUCKING CAR) olympic games (he was in the trailer but not the player select screen. odd but he’s most definitely in there) most of the fanbase fucking hates him. if yall like him and the other zetis ur valid but like. im just fucking bitter. out of all the fucking characters why do you choose zavok. why do you throw away the good characters that everyone likes but keep the characters a majority of people HATE? yes this is about the babylon rogues but others too. who’s stopping you from bringing gamma back? literally the fandom has all these fucking ideas and IT. CHECKS. OUT. yall are just being lazy as shit. tsr did give me hope though with all the different character interactions- some who i dont think have even interacted before. i’m hoping for better modern games. colors 2. a remake. for fucks sake whatever the big different thing is that’s planned for sonic’s 30th anniversary please. please let it be fucking good im begging you. also since the past olympic games have had story modes.. i want a story mode with like, the mario and sonic characters actually interacting more. cutscenes. not just the opening stuff. sega please. idk what happened but the older games had much better writing. if they do a remake of an older game i think they’d be able to like. reflect on what was better back then from now? so. idk.thank you for asking anon, sorry i got like That at the end..
