Where it all began
I started out making jewelry in 2015 as a hobby while I was on my first deployment in the United States Navy. Soon after returning home I made a couple pieces for close friends and family but never thought about making a business out of it. In fact, I tried a few multi-level marketing (I guess that's what they are called) Itworks, BeachBody, Amway, basically a few things where you sell products and try to get others to sign up to sell products "with" you. BOO! Not a fan. I wanted to run a business but I felt no passion for the products of services. The only thing I was proud of was things I made myself.  Fast forwarding a few years, (a lot happened but this is the summary). I was still in the Navy and it was taking up ALL OF MY TIME but I managed to fall in love <3 and get married in 2021. I decided to leave the Navy in 2022 to start a family and pursue something I was passionate about, but the only PROBLEM was it had been YEARS since I had really been creative or had a creative space to work in. But we just bought a house so space wasn't the issue anymore.  I had to take some time to "re-discover" myself, which any veteran can tell you after they separate from the service, you sort of forget a lot about yourself when you assimilate into the military because individuality really isn't a thing (no regrets though). I worked as a contractor for the Navy from March 2022 - Nov 2023 but decided to step away from that with the help of my supportive hubby :) I really needed to get my own identity back. I did some spring (REALLY FALL) cleaning, which led me to breaking out the cases of jewelry making supplies that were long forgotten in storage. It brought back some wonderful emotions! And that's when I remembered how much I enjoyed making things with my hands and coming up with creative designs.  And just like that, I got bit by the creative bug and I couldn't be happier about it. I began creating pieces like a mad woman and now with the confidence (thanks Navy) that I COULD DO THIS FOR A LIVING!! MAKING THINGS! AND BEING HAPPY DOING IT! So that is what I am doing. Making things whether by hand or designing in the digital space (which I have also been really enjoying). I have sold my pieces at several markets and pop-up locations since December 2023 and I am still deciding what I want to go back to school for (Also HUGE THANK YOU NAVY) but I am leaning toward graphic design and business. I am in the middle of building my web-site for my online Gift Shop (cuz Mamas got plans) which will be coming SOON. I have been making moves like mad...tripping, stumbling and blundering my way through Etsy and social media. But it is all for a greater goal and that is to build a successful business that I can run from my home while I raise our future children. And lastly that brings me to tell you about the name "Eudaimond". It's a name I made from the word Eudaimonia, which translates to happiness, or more accurately "human flourishing". This resonated deeply with me and it became the name of my business. It represents my current journey for a happy and purposeful life. When you shop with Eudaimond, you shop with a purpose. Whether it's a gift for others or yourself, the act is intentional and your time is important. And I want to provide intentional products worth that time.  Thanks for being here.

Hi🖤 abelia, nutmeg, papyrus
Hi Layla 🤗🖤🫂🌻, first of all thank you so much for sending me this ask.
Let's see...
abelia ⇢ do you have a particular piece of jewelry you always wear or can’t part with?
I have many I can't part with but the only thing I actually always wear is not really jewelry but a scrunchie around my right wrist. But I have to say I bought a butterfly choker necklace thingy and some kind of pearl necklace not too long ago that I really fell in love with and that I am both wearing pretty often now.
nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?
I don't think there is anything really special about my room. I do have a weird but fitting mix of furniture that is mostly hidden by pictures now. I also have two posters (tour posters of two of the most special concerts I attended), many candles and a collection of concert cups. Oh and I have a special cup that has bumblebees on it. I actually have apiphobia and got that cup when I decided to try to get over it. Those are the most mentionable things in my room I would say...Wait there are also always some dog toys lying around in my room.
papyrus ⇢ if you put your ‘on repeat’ playlist on shuffle, what’s the first song that comes up? what do you like about it / associate it with?
I swear I didn't make that up. The first song that I shuffled was "Zitti E Buoni" by Måneskin. And there is so much this song has changed for me. Like without my dad telling me on the day after the ESC final in 2021 (because I actually didn't follow ESC that year), that he can't believe a song like that won, I wouldnt be here on tumblr like that today. I actually became curious after also hearing that a rock song won because it made no sense for him not to like that. So I listened to the song/watched the performance...Fell in love with them. Found BC through ESC interviews and fell in love with them even more. Both of those bands helped me become more confident with myself, and without them I wouldn't have met all of you. 🖤🖤🖤

Can You Really Find Luxury Items on Amazon?
Yes, you can find luxury items on Amazon. I’ve explored Amazon’s luxury offerings myself, and there’s more than just everyday products. Amazon has a section called “Luxury Stores” where you can shop for high-end items. These stores feature brands like Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, and more. You can find everything from designer handbags to luxury watches. Amazon has partnered with these brands to ensure authenticity, so you’re not getting knockoffs.
When I first heard about Amazon’s luxury section, I was curious. I’ve always seen Amazon as a place for everyday shopping. But I decided to check it out. I found that the selection is impressive. You can browse through a variety of categories, including fashion, jewelry, and beauty products. The luxury items are presented in a sleek, sophisticated layout. It’s a different experience from Amazon’s regular shopping.
My Experience with Amazon’s Luxury Items
I decided to test Amazon’s luxury offerings by purchasing a designer handbag. I chose a brand that I knew and trusted. The process was smooth, just like any other Amazon purchase. The handbag arrived in a few days, packaged beautifully with all the original tags and packaging. I compared it to a similar handbag I bought from a high-end store, and the quality was the same. It was clear that this was a genuine luxury item.
Amazon’s customer service for luxury items also impressed me. I had a few questions about the return policy before making my purchase. I contacted Amazon’s customer service, and they were quick to help. They reassured me that luxury items have a similar return policy to other products on Amazon. This gave me peace of mind, knowing I could return the item if it didn’t meet my expectations.
Another thing I liked was the variety. You’re not limited to a few brands or items. Amazon’s luxury section has a wide range of products to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a statement piece or something subtle, there’s something for everyone. I also noticed that some items were exclusive to Amazon, meaning you can find pieces that aren’t available elsewhere.
Tips for Shopping Luxury on Amazon
If you’re interested in buying luxury items on Amazon, there are a few tips I can share from my experience. First, make sure you’re shopping from Amazon’s “Luxury Stores” section. This ensures that you’re buying authentic products from reputable brands. Look for the “Ships from and sold by Amazon” label to avoid third-party sellers who might not be as reliable.
Second, read the product descriptions and reviews carefully. Even though Amazon is known for quality, it’s always good to double-check. Reviews from other buyers can give you insight into the item’s quality and authenticity. I always take a few minutes to see what others are saying before I make a purchase.
Finally, take advantage of Amazon’s return policy. If you’re not completely satisfied with your luxury purchase, you can return it. Just make sure to keep all the original packaging and tags intact. This makes the return process easier. I’ve used this policy once when I wasn’t happy with a pair of shoes I bought. The return was hassle-free, and I got my refund quickly.
The Benefits of Buying Luxury on Amazon
One of the biggest benefits of buying luxury items on Amazon is convenience. You can shop from the comfort of your home and have high-end products delivered right to your door. There’s no need to visit a physical store or deal with crowds. Plus, Amazon offers fast shipping, so you won’t have to wait long to receive your items.
Another benefit is the variety. As I mentioned earlier, Amazon’s luxury section offers a wide range of products. You can find something for every taste and occasion. Whether you’re looking for a luxury watch, a designer dress, or high-end beauty products, Amazon has it all. The selection is constantly updated, so you’ll always find something new.
Finally, Amazon’s pricing is competitive. While luxury items are never cheap, I’ve found that Amazon often offers deals and discounts that you might not find elsewhere. For example, I once found a luxury fragrance at a lower price than at a department store. It’s worth keeping an eye on the prices, especially during sales events like Prime Day.
Conclusion
In conclusion, yes, you can find real luxury items on Amazon. My experience with their luxury section has been positive. From the variety of products to the quality and authenticity, Amazon offers a convenient and reliable way to shop for luxury goods. If you’re like me and enjoy the convenience of online shopping, Amazon’s luxury section is worth checking out. Just follow the tips I’ve shared, and you’ll have a great shopping experience.

✂️ Upcycle Overview ✂️
Starting Item: Forever 21 white linen button down dress, size small (not my photo) Finished Item: White linen shift to wear under dresses
🧵 Summary 🧵
I bought this white button down at a thrift store a few months ago, but unfortunately it just was not working in my wardrobe the way I hoped it would. I bought it to wear as a layered item over long sleeve shirts in the fall/spring. However, it ended up being too short & sheer to really work for that. It also suffers from something that many fast fashion garments in this style do - ridiculously large armscyes. Being unable to wear it layered or by itself meant it needed to be cut, in some way or another.
I however have a weakness for linen, so I decided to upcycle it into a shift since I have been wanting a linen shift for some of my summer dresses. I became particularly aware of this need, as this summer has been the hottest on record in over 100 years.
First off, I removed the collar. My sister mentioned recently wanting a faux collar to add to the 'dark academia' wardrobe she's building. So I carefully picked it off, and then hand stitched the opening back together. She likes wearing gold jewelry, so I added a fun antique gold crest button.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was a super easy accessory to pull out of this item. I was surprised how well it stayed tucked into the shirt I tried it out on. Honestly, I may need to make one for myself in the future. 😅
Tumblr media
Once I pulled off the collar & cut off the button plackets, I serged the open front seam together. Thankfully, the garment wasn't very fitted (I did a check BEFORE cutting off the plackets) so I had plenty of room to still pull it on. I then tried it on with the lowest cut dress I have and marked how low I needed the neckline to be. I trimmed the neckline and bound it in some single-fold bias tape.
Tumblr media
While sewing down the binding I did almost have a heart attack. About 1 cm from the last bid of bias to be stitched down, I ran out of bobbin thread. Thankfully there was enough of a tail that I was able to tie it off on both sides. But I was lazy (and needed to switch to red thread), so I decided that it was close enough and I didn't need to go back over it.
Tumblr media
My one other mishap occurred when I was cutting off the placket and accidentally nicked one side. I covered the majority of it in the serging, but I stabilized the last little bit with a small patch of iron-on interfacing. A silly mistake, but not a huge issue for a undergarment.
Tumblr media
I will not be posting a photo of myself wearing the final piece, but it fits great and is going to be a perfect addition to my wardrobe along with my silk and cotton shifts.
Tumblr media
Happy sewing ✂️🧵 ✂️🧵,
~ Mrs. Crow

Sooooo I just bought myself a fancy-ass (and in my opinion quite feminine) watch, and this is not a normal thing at all for me (it is my first time buying a watch that's over 40 bucks & not purely about function) and I'm excited!! Like, it's functional jewelry I can wear all the time and it's actually gonna provide me with legit useful information! Wow!! (It even has a lil crescent moon hand that points at the day of the month for Pete's sake. UGH!)
I... also have some mixed feelings (lol) because the world of watches can be so goddamned ridiculous (see: exorbitant prices) and it seems like it's some Deep Capitalism shit a lot of the time.. and I suppose I'm buying into that? But it ain't like this is a six-figure ~TiMePiEcE~ or anything extreme like that... I suppose "extreme" is relative, but this is a battery-powered quartz watch that barely has any precious materials in its construction: just stainless steel, and eleven(? nine?) little bitty probably-lab-grown diamonds on the face. It's fairly chill.
But it's so prettyyy! And it's a quality unit so it will likely be with me for decades. The MSRP for this one is $625 CAD (omg) (I say omg, but the company can decide on whatever freakin' price they want, can't they? It's not like that reflects how much the thing is actually worth, which is about to become evident). With discounts I was able to get it for $422 plus tax {$472.49 all in), which is a lot of money for a watch, considering that a sub-50 dollar watch tells the time and date just fine.
But now we get to what this is really about. It's about feeling special. It's about owning things that spark joy. And it's about celebration, too. I've bought this watch to celebrate my coming out as a feminine person (hard femme, specifically). I'm a goddess, really, and I deserve to adorn myself with items that are lovely if I so choose, y'know?! (Disclaimer: being a goddess is by no means exclusive to me. Anyone can be a goddess!)
Ehem... real talk though, I get BIG autism energy from watches and watchmakers and watch collectors. Watches are so... THING. They are such object, undeniably. "DON'T TALK TO ME I AM LOOKING VERY CLOSELY AT THIS LITTLE PIECE OF METAL," said the watchmaker, a totally normal person who would fit in with zero issues at any party...
Expensive watches are all about the attention to detail (my experience as an autist is so detail-heavy it's not even funny). And honestly I am here for it. If you can afford to buy a mighty fine watch and it makes you feel good, freakin' buy that shit and enjoy it, and thank a watchmaker for its existence maybe.
Once this lil moon-goddess accessory arrives at my home I am gonna spend so much time looking at it and obsessing over its details. I'm stoked. It's a special thingy just for ME! Plus low key I feel like it gives off lesbian / witchy vibes (depending on how you style the rest of your look) and just, yas.
P.S. - The first image is from Citizen's website (they're a Japanese company by the way eh! As an otaku/weeb [depending on who you ask], I dig). The second image is also from their site but was posted in the review section by a person who only put down "Picky" as their name. Thank you Picky, it's a nice shot.
P.P.S. - Let me be clear: Japanese culture is rad because there really seems to be an emphasis on pouring your heart into your craft or whatever it is you do, hence Japan producing so much high-quality stuff (cars are a big one; like goddamn). I will say though, from what I've seen, they've got a long ways to go when it comes to work-life-balance, and like... uhhh sex positivity and queer rights, and drinking Respect Women Juice. Anyway I'd rather my money go to Japan's economy vs. that of the USA (for the record I was considering buying a Timex watch).

#Black opal direct how to#
From Justin’s legendary live cutting sessions to learning how to tell the difference between a black opal and crystal opal, we have you covered. We’re second-generation passionate gem merchants who believe in the power of information freely given – mostly with a laugh! Are you ready to choose your adventure? We’ve got hours of how to and entertaining videos for you to watch. Our challenge now is not, how do we find what we’re looking for, but more, who can we trust? Who is going to give us the right information and who has that gem that we’ve been dreaming about? We might not be the answer to all your questions, but we welcome you to explore and learn about opal. Now we have access to literally everything at the touch of a button or voice command. The internet was in its infancy and finding information was a treasure hunt which wasn’t always successful. Back then in 2002, we needed to physically meet all the opal lovers. She loved opal and wanted one but had no access to achieve her goal until Woody made it happen. I bought it because I loved it on sight and also to remind myself to listen to my own voice – we know what we love!” Katherine isn’t with us any longer, but her ring was passed to her daughter who wears it proudly in memory of her Mom. When I looked at the opal it looked like the earth, like a world of wonderment and every time I look I see something else that amazes me. Tonight, I am the proud owner of a black opal ring I shall treasure. I looked at the opals and wanted them all! It took me a while to decide what I really loved. I watched the video, listened to your stories and all the questions you patiently answered for everyone. “I once saw a black opal in a book but until today that is the closest I’ve ever been. Not many jewelers seem knowledgeable when I ask questions” she said, sadly. The rare ones I saw in a jewelry store were always milky and didn’t have much play of colour. I have quite a few jewels in my collection – all signifying a special moment in my life but no opal. Katherine’s Story “I’ve loved opal since I was a girl but my mother told me they were bad luck. She had been at one of the presentations earlier in the day. The mood was up, people were excited, and we were sitting in a restaurant having a celebratory drink when an older, well-dressed lady approached. In 2002 we found ourselves in Springfield, Missouri, close to Kansas but a long way from home! We had just delivered a day of presentations about opal to jewelry lovers at our friend Woody’s store.

Natasha x reader (romantic) and r spending lots of money to buy gifts for nat just because they miss her for 1000 followers celebration plz
A/n: I wasn’t sure if you meant after a break up where r is trying to get her back or they were dating but not in the same place but I decided to go the less angsty route because I’m in the mood for fluff. And I accidentally wrote too much oops.
Three days of you being on a mission and Natasha is officially bored. She didn’t realize how much of her day was taken up by you until you left and she had nothing to do and nothing to look forward to. It should scare her, how much she’s come to rely on you, but right now the only emotion she can feel is loneliness and worry. She doesn’t know much about the mission other than it’s classified and you would be gone for a month. Before you left she tried to pry information out of you but apparently Fury had caught on to the fact that you tell her everything because you were getting briefed for the mission on the plane.
Tony’s teasing voice brings her out of her thoughts. “Missing Y/n already?”
“No,” she denies despite the fact that she was just thinking about you, “I was just thinking ahead to the dinner with government officials next weekend.”
“So you wouldn’t be interested to know that a package arrived at the compound today addressed to ‘My Tasha’ from Y/n?” he asks, obviously pleased with your use of a nickname.
She scowls at him. “Give it here.”
“I don’t think I-” Tony’s eyes widen in fear when she starts stalking towards him. “What I was trying to say is that I don’t think I have any more time to waste talking to you so here is your package, goodbye.”
He places a small package on the table and leaves the room quickly which Natasha cannot help but be satisfied with. She takes her time opening it, smiling at the wrapping that isn’t quite perfect. Inside she finds a folded piece of paper and a jewelry box. She opens the letter first.
Dear Tasha,
I’m writing this before I leave on the mission so that I can send it but you’re reading this after I’m already gone. I don’t know the exact day that this will arrive but what I do know is that I will already be missing you when you read this. I love you so much and I can’t imagine how hard it will be to stay away from you for a whole month but I know we’ll get through it together.
Love always,
Y/n
P.S. I hope you like the necklace, I bought myself a matching one (sort of, you’ll get what I mean when you see it).
She smiles at the letter and holds it close to her chest before she realizes she’s acting dangerously close to how the girls in romcoms usually are. Moving onto the necklace she opens the box to find a silver chain with a charm that says your name in delicate cursive. The cheekiness of the gift makes her shake her head, still smiling. Your matching version must be her name. It’s cheesy and possessive and everything she would have hated in the past but it’s you and maybe it’s strange but she likes that she can wear your name and you can wear hers. If the others notice when she starts wearing it around the compound they wisely decide not to comment.
A week later she receives another small gift and letter. You tell her about how the mission is going well so far and you thought of her when you saw the book of Russian jokes so you just had to buy it for her. It’s nice to know that you think of her when you’re in the field because god knows she can’t stop thinking of you.
The gifts keep coming, accompanied with short letters. Each one of them makes her smile, the only disappointment being she can’t respond. The packages increase in frequency when your mission gets extended to two months instead of just one. They’re completely random, some cheap and some expensive and all different types but she appreciates all of them. She doesn’t understand how every single one of them can make her feel so special and she relishes the feeling, unused to being the priority in someone else’s life.
Nothing compares to having you next to her though so when the day finally comes that you’ll return from your mission she is practically vibrating with excitement the entire morning. She keeps it cool in front of the team but as soon as you step off the jet she can’t help herself and runs to wrap her arms around you, pulling you in for a kiss.
“That is quite a welcome.” you say once you pull away.
“I missed you.”
“I missed you too,” you tell her, “although I’m sure you could tell.”
You notice the necklace you gave her as your first gift on her neck and pull back the collar of your shirt so she can see you’re wearing the one with her name. She reaches her hand out to fiddle with it for a second before leaning in to kiss you again. The gifts were nice but having you here is much nicer.

Coincidence (Spencer x GN!Reader Onseshot)
Tumblr media
Category: Fluff
Summary: Spencer and Reader accidentally have a museum date when they run into each other.
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: none <3
----------------------------------------------------------
“Y/N!” A familiar voice called your name. You turned around and faced a familiar man whom you’d met through your friend Penelope. Spencer stood smiling at you with his hands in his pockets. He energetically waved at you.
You grinned back at him. “Hey Spencer! What a crazy coincidence, us both being here at the same time.” You had spontaneously decided to visit the National Gallery of Art since you had a free day to yourself over the weekend.
“Totally!” He responded. “I’m supposed to have the whole weekend off so I thought I’d revisit the gallery. How are you?”
“I’m alright! You’re revisiting? How many times have you been here? This is my first time seeing the gallery.” You had been to other art museums in Maryland but never the National Gallery of Art since you had recently moved to D.C. a year ago.
Spencer chuckled lightly. “This would be my ninth time coming here. I saw the gallery for the first time when I was nine years old  and couldn’t keep myself away from this place.
“Wow!” You exclaimed. “I don’t blame you, I’ve only seen the sculpture garden and the first few pieces in this wing so far and everything is gorgeous; I’m in love already.”
“You know what, I’ve got the building memorized!” Spencer eagerly informed you. “If you want, I could be your personal guide and show you the best parts of each exhibit and take you on the most efficient path through the museum! I mean, you don’t have to say yes, it’s up to you.”
“Spencer, that’d be awesome, I’ll totally tag along if you’re cool with that!” You beamed at him, trying to hide your excitement. You usually went on trips like these alone so it was nice to have someone who could enjoy the same thing as you by your side.
“Great, let’s go!” Spencer turned and gestured towards the next exhibit.
------------------------------------------------------------
As you and Spencer explored the museum together, you noticed how abnormally comfortable you felt around him. You two had never hung out without Penelope so this was a first for you both. Even without your mutual friend, you found that Spencer was both easy to listen to and easy to talk to. He of course knew a lot about the art in the gallery and thoroughly explained each piece to you but you appreciated that he never talked to you like you were dumb or lesser than him. He regularly asked if you were okay with his infodumps as well, which you completely didn’t mind. You could tell that he undoubtedly had a passion for the arts, and you liked that he was so enthusiastic to share that with you.
While you did certainly find Spencer’s interesting facts to be intriguing, you couldn’t help but let your mind wander as you looked at him from the side. He didn’t notice your looking as he faced the painting while he talked to you, completely occupied by the piece that was on the wall in front of him. You liked the way he spoke about the art that he showed you. Spencer was very animated, clearly demonstrating his excitement about whatever he was explaining in the movement of his hands. His face was quite expressive too. His eyebrows rose and fell as he talked and his eyes squinted and widened as he conversed with you. You hadn’t noticed how pretty Spencer’s eyes were until now, how his irises were brown but with little gold specks on the inside. You liked that when he wrinkled his nose in the middle of a sentence, his scrunch reached the top of his nose bridge between his eyes. His nose was a nice nose, you thought. It enhanced his side profile and turned slightly upwards when he smiled too. And his lips. Today you noticed that his lips were quite… pink. And full. And plump. You had to catch yourself when your eyes traveled down from Spencer’s eyes to his mouth when he spoke, then hope that he didn’t notice your distraction. You just liked that way he smiled, that’s all, you told yourself. He often kept his smile as he talked and continued to smile when you spoke to him too. You liked the way his lips puckered when his smile grew bigger as he finished his sentences. It seemed like an uncontrollable habit of his-
“Y/N?” Spencer interrupted your thoughts. He looked at you with his brows slightly raised.
“Hm, yeah?” Your mind snapped back to the present moment. “I’m sorry, could you say that again?”
“Are you okay? Am I boring you? We could stop here if you want!”
“No, Spencer- it’s fine!” You jumped to explain. “You’re good, I promise! I’m not bored, I just got lost in my thoughts for a second. Um, the only da Vinci painting in the U.S. right? Is this one here?”
“Exactly!” Spencer lit up and straightened his posture. “Da Vinci painted less than 20 oil paintings throughout his career; this one was bought for $5 million and arrived in D.C. in 1969!”
“Damn!” You exclaimed. “So that makes this portrait like, the Mona Lisa of the National Gallery, huh?”
“Absolutely!” Spencer agreed with you. “The gallery has other Da Vinci pieces displayed but none that are as rare and valuable as an oil painting of his. This one, Ginerva de’ Benci, is a portrait of a daughter of a banker, most likely commissioned when she was about 16 and just engaged. You know, the juniper bush is what’s in the background. Juniper represents chastity which was one of the most significant traits of a woman in the Renaissance era. It’s kind of a subtle little pun, including the juniper plant, because in Italian the plant is called ginepro.”
“Oh! Ginepro, Ginerva! That’s so cute, I love it!” You told him. “I like how there’s like no fancy jewelry or finery on her in this portrait too. It’s different from the Renaissance portraits of the other ladies that we saw.”
“Yeah, it’s a little bit of a surprise when it comes to a portrait like this that she isn’t completely dressed up! It doesn’t reveal her family’s wealth like portraits commonly do. I love that you noticed that.” Spencer’s lips turned at the corners in appreciation of your attention to detail. “Let’s move onto the next one!”
------------------------------------------------------------
You and Spencer moved on through the exhibit, then through the rest of the museum. You two enjoyed each other’s company for the day and were able to see all the art in three hours. As you exited, you found yourself laughing as you and Spencer recalled the events of the day. “I still can’t believe they kept trying to pay you for a private tour even after you insisted you weren’t a museum tour guide!” You laughed into your hand which was clapped over your mouth, trying not to draw attention to you and Spencer.
“Shut up!” Spencer jokingly rolled his eyes at you. “I hate that they were gathered around me too, attracting a crowd while trying to hand me money. I don’t even wear a uniform like the other employees!” Spencer cracked up along with you, shaking as he pictured himself standing next to you, explaining to a group of strangers that he was just visiting with a friend, not working for the gallery.
You shrieked with laughter, uncontrollably gasping for air as you tried to calm yourself. “Then when they said they would call the gallery and get you fired for denying customers!” Tears were coming out of your eyes from being unable to stop laughing. “And you just went ‘Okay!’ and walked off without me!” You missed a step and tripped, grabbing Spencer’s arm as you fell into him.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” You were half still dying from laughing and half freaking out from your mistake. “I didn’t mean to grab you, I know you’ve got a germ thing! I think I just got a little carried away and wasn’t careful enough to watch my step!” You frantically apologized to Spencer. “Are you okay?”
Spencer grinned at you and dusted you off on your shoulders. “Relax, Y/N. I know you’re not germy; I’m not gonna freak out if you touch me. And I’m fine, you’re the one who fell!” He reassured you. “Are you okay? Do you need a second? You’re pink in the face, I don’t know if from laughing or from tripping on the step.”
“I’m fine, I’m good! Thank you Spencer.” You replied, still hot around your face. “Let’s just get out of here before I start to laugh and embarrass myself again.” You chuckled. “Are you free for the rest of the day? We could get something to eat if you’re hungry!”
Spencer smiled at you. “Yeah, I’m free! Do you like Indian? There’s this new place that’s about 10 minutes from here-”
A loud ringing cut his sentence off. Spencer sighed and apologetically looked at you before whipping his cell phone out of his pocket. “Yeah?” He spoke into the phone.
He listened for a few seconds before speaking. “I’m in D.C. but I’ll be there as soon as possible. Thanks, Penelope.” Spencer hung up and shoved his phone back into his coat.
“Got a case?” You asked.
“Yeah. I’m so sorry, Y/N, I know we were supposed to-”
“Spence!” You stopped him. “You don’t have to apologize, we didn’t even plan on hanging out today!”
Spencer’s eyes softened; he expected you to express disappointment before anything else and was surprised that you were understanding instead. He smiled and nodded. “Okay, but we could still check out the new Indian place another time, yeah?”
You felt butterflies in your stomach emerging. “Of course. Thank you for today, Spencer. I had an amazing time.”
“Me too, Y/N. I’ll text you when we get back!”

Creating Sango Part 2: The Props
Of course my favorite (and original) demon slayer needs her props! Right away I knew she absolutely had to have her signature weapon, the Hiraikotsu. It’s a giant boomerang, so how could I not make that? That wouldn’t be hard, right?
I started by looking up real life boomerangs, but they were all bent too much to be the right shape. Fortunately, my husband has a Glow Forge, which is essentially a big laser cutter. It can’t print things in 3D (everything is flat, it just depends on the thickness of the material used), but for this, that wasn’t necessary.
So I started by printing out the Hiraikotsu in various sizes on printer paper and holding it next to the doll to get an idea of the size it needed to be. I settled on 12 inches tall. I gave hubby the file he needed, and the Glow Forge went to work! He used draft board, which is the cheapest material but totally fine here, and coincidentally it was almost the perfect color!
I then took some sandpaper and sanded down the edges to get rid of the black edges that result from the laser cutting. That’s just how the Glow Forge is. No problem. Got them all sanded off, and on to painting! I found a shade of paint a little lighter than the draft board, applied it, and BOOM. Hiraikotsu!
Tumblr media
Next was adding details to the Hiraikotsu. It has wraps around it, three tassels (one with a bead), and, when Sango is wearing her kimono, it has a black strap with two gold buckles for her to hold in order to carry it. And of course, my doll is wearing the kimono, so the strap is necessary. Oh well, probably easier than trying to get her hand under a strap or tassel in her slayer outfit LOL.
I found lots of mini tassels at various craft stores that appeared to be the right size and color, so I grabbed them! I also got some leather strap for the wraps and found some cheap red beads to apply to one of the tassels. I planned to make the gold embellishment on the strap with jewelry wire like Miroku’s ring.
First up was determining the type of wrapping to use. I’d bought some actual leather strap, but it turned out to be way too thick and it didn’t look right. I’d wrapped Kagome’s bow in bias tape, so I got some of that out and tested it. Lo and behold, it was perfect! In fact, the printout I had to help determine the appropriate size really helped me here, because I was able to hold it against the real version to determine where to put the straps. And the printed straps? Turned out that the .25″ bias tape is a PERFECT match to that size! Hallelujah!
Tumblr media
(That’s literally how I expressed myself every time something went well during all these doll transformations LOL)
The only issue was I couldn’t find brown bias tape in that size. Tan, yes, but not brown. So I got the next size up and tried to cut it in half. My cutting abilities aren’t professional, let me tell you. So then I thought, thanks to going nuts trying to find the perfect shades of brown for Kagome’s and Sango’s eyes, why not use some of the dozens of bottles of brown paint I’ve got? So I dug out a few potential candidates and painted little sample parts on a scrap piece of bias tape in the appropriate size (1/4″) before choosing the ideal candidate. I started dark, but then decided to go a bit lighter. The wraps are lighter than Sango’s hair, but obviously darker than the weapon itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dug out all my figures with their Hiraikotsu, but of course they’re not consistent lol. Toynami’s entire weapon has a yellowish hue to it, making the wraps more of a reddish brown. The Kotobukiya figure’s wraps were close to the dark color I’d already used and the Hiraikotsu colors even matched pretty well, and then a Gashapon wrap was a little lighter than the Kotobukiya. Looking at various pictures and episodes, it seems it’s meant to be a lighter brown than I’d painted. So I went back over the dark paint with light paint and I’m very happy with the result!
Tumblr media
Granted, I did have to make a second bottom wrap because, despite measuring the first time, when wrapping and gluing it after it was painted, it didn’t go around seven times (you can see seven wraps on the source photos), so I had to take it off and make a longer one, paint it, then glue it LOL. But at least it was an easy fix, and I have plenty of bias tape and paint! I’m guessing the paint caused it to shrivel up a bit, which would also explain why the top wrap isn’t completely enclosed in the back, but no one will see that so it’s staying!
For the ties/tassels, like I said, I had gotten a lot of miniature ones to use for this purpose. But the shapes were a bit off. They were more wide than long, and I had no idea how to attach a bead to them. So  I practiced making some of my own tassels with embroidery floss and decided that was the best course of action.
So I was able to make the tassels. Then came the question of the bows that seem to wrap around the brown leather and hold the tassels in place. I tried tying bows with the embroidery floss since the color matched perfectly, but it definitely didn’t give the right illusion. Ribbon had the same problem. So I dug through my stash of craft supplies and almost fell over when I found these:
Tumblr media
I’d purchased those bows last year to make Barbie-size wreaths, and the tops of them are perfect! They’d just need to be painted! Fortunately, I had some paint that was very similar in color to the embroidery floss, and I knew I could always paint it too if need be.
My original plan was to somehow tie the bows around the wraps, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to pull that off, plus the thickness of these bows might have made the wraps stick out too far. So I decided to glue them in place.
Before I did that, however, I painted the bows, and then I held one next to the weapon to see how it would look. Sadly, they were entirely too big.
Tumblr media
I didn’t have anything else in my stash that was the right shape, so I had to cut these bows down to size and reassemble them. That was intense! When that was done, I was able to glue the tassels on top, which also made the center of the bows. Perfect? Maybe not, but that’s part of what makes it unique! hehehe I did have to mix the paint with some white to make it lighter so it would match the embroidery floss, but it came out pretty darn close, so I’m happy with it!
Tumblr media
The hardest part with Hiraikotsu was definitely the little buckles. They seem to have almost a chrysanthemum shape to them, and it appears that two ends of the strap goes through each one, probably to give the illusion of the strap being adjusted to fit around Sango’s torso.
Tumblr media
So, how to make those. Well, looking closer, I thought they resembled fidget spinners. So I found some fidget spinner files online and modified them in Photoshop so they’d be the right shape. Then I printed them out in three different sizes to determine which one would look the best, and then I used an Xacto knife to cut the centers out of all of them so I could see which size worked for sliding the strap through. I settled on the .5″ option. Yeah, that’s tiny LOL.
Hubby managed to make some fidget spinners on his Glow Forge, but I told him, “Thanks, these are adorable, but I need the centers cut out completely.” Well, due to how small they were, they were way too fragile and just fell apart. So that was out.
So I printed out several of the .5″ buckles I’d made, cut them out, and stacked and glued like six together to give it some depth. When the glue was dry, I sanded down the edges to round them off, then I painted them gold and sealed them with Mod Podge.
I was afraid that, being cardstock, they wouldn’t be too durable, so I got to looking at my little paperclips and saw the smaller bend on them. A lightbulb went off and I thought those would be perfect! So I cut the rounded ends off three small paperclips (I even used yellow since that would be the best base coat for gold), then put them together and super glued them onto wax paper. When that glue was dry, I used the Xacto knife to cut out the inside where the glue had settled (I wanted to make sure I’d used enough so they’d stay together lol). Then they got painted and sealed with Mod Podge as well.
Tumblr media
(Top two are cardstock, the rest are paperclips)
I wound up making three sets of the paperclip versions because they were significantly easier than the paper option. Once they were all set, I prepared to test them with the strap I wanted to use before deciding on one.
Well, I wanted to use black bias tape for the strap because it’s the same thickness as the brown wraps (and that seems to be what it looks like in the anime), and bias tape doesn’t fray/shred like ribbon does. Well, sadly, none of the buckles I’d made were big enough to allow the bias tape to go through. So I got some 1/8″ black ribbon, and it fit, but it was just too thin and didn’t look right. So I looked closer at my bias tape, and I realized that it’s double fold bias tape. I looked up 1/8″ bias tape and single fold .25″ bias tape, but neither of those seems to exist. So... I took to the scissors and cut the bias tape in half, then used Mod Podge to glue the two (no longer four) layers together to make one solid piece and to make the fabric stiff, which would keep it from being too floppy and help it maintain its shape better.
I then tried all the buckles again, and despite it being the more difficult option, the cardstock buckles were the only ones that fit LOL! But being cardstock, I was able to maneuver/shape them enough to get them to fit right, and with the paint and Mod Podgeon them, they were more durable than they’d been previously.
So I used glue to wrap the strap around the Hiraikotsu (there’s really no other way I could secure it since I can’t sew snap buttons, and they wouldn’t look right anyway), leaving enough slack to allow it to slip on and off the doll, and then added the buckles by sliding the strap through them.
And at last, the Hiraikotsu was complete!
Tumblr media
Another reason I decided against the slayer outfit - I’d also have to come up with a sword LOL. I mean, I probably could have found one easily enough. The doll I used for her head actually came with one, it’s just stuck inside the sheath and not meant to come out. But oh well.
Another definite prop needed was Kirara. I have yet to find an actual Kirara figure in her transformed state apart from a miniature Toynami figure, and for one Sango is riding her, two half the body is missing, and three she’d be way too small for Barbie. Yet another reason to go with the kimono option!
I’ve had the Toynami figures since high school, and looking at the Kirara that came with Sango, I thought she looked pretty close. So I took her out of the cabinet, put her in a Barbie doll’s lap, and was pleased with the scale. So, to eBay I went to find a second Toynami Sango just for Kirara! But it’s okay, because I have a dear friend who’s a huge Inuyasha fan as well who was missing the Sango Toynami figure, so I sent her everything but Kirara to help complete her collection. :D
So boom, Kirara was done!
Tumblr media
But... that same dear friend and I got to talking, and inspiration struck. She took an old off-brand Barbie horse (honestly it looked pretty scary LOL) and completely transformed it into this:
Tumblr media
Yes! She turned a horse into Kirara! Now that’s impressive talent! I love her!!! Click here to see her process: Progress and Complete.
OMG the post office though... poor Kirara sat in Kansas City for THREE WEEKS, a whole week past the ETA, and I had to file three claims and angrily call twice and send an irate email for there to be any progress. We were both so afraid that she’d never show up that my friend is currently in the process of making a Kirara 2.0, new and improved, that she’s going to ship via UPS to ensure it does actually arrive! Don’t get me started on the postal service...
Anyway, there she is! Next for props...
Nothing! LOL Sango had the least amount of props, and I dare say the easiest props of the bunch. Will I make a demon slayer outfit version of her in the future? Perhaps. But for now, I’m totally happy with these!

Of ginger and cranberries
Fluff!
LevixYou
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
It was a cold Sunday morning of early winter. You were walking through the market stalls looking for the most important ingredient for your ginger cookies: ginger. The town's main square was crowded, the bustling sound was getting louder and the smell coming from the different food stalls engulfed the place. People were gathering supplies for the upcoming new year celebration that would take place within a week.
After stopping by several stalls without success, you found an empty bench and took a seat. Walking around with a heavy jute bag on the shoulder was exhausting, and you deserved a rest. You placed your cane next to your leg where you could feel it and put the groceries bag on you lap just to make sure ginger was the only ingredient missing.
As soon as you opened it, a smell of cloves and cinnamon greeted your nose making you smiled. That's how winter is supposed to smell. Putting your hand in the bag, you hissed. The only thing you hated about winter was wearing mittens. Hands were the eyes for people like you, and having them covered make you double blinded. You took one of the mittens off and proceeded to check the content.
Flour. Checked.
Sugar. Checked.
Eggs. Checked.
Butter. Checked.
Cinnamon and cloves. Double checked.
You put the mitten on again before your hand froze and rolled your neck to stretch, placed the bag strap on your left shoulder and took the cane to continue your quest. Ginger was not slipping away from you; but the smell of freshly-baked cranberry pie filled the air forcing you to take a little detour. Your pace fastened following the source of the sweet, luring scent; however, someone blocked your way and in matter of seconds your bottoms hit the cobblestone ground. You whined, and your hand patted your surroundings looking for your guide.
"Tsk. Are you blind? Watch your step, brat" You heard and turned the head towards the voice's source. The man you had bumped into turned around and facepalmed inwardly.
"Sorry, but you're right, as you can see I am blind" You chuckled and waved a hand in front of your face. Levi sighed extending a hand and 'tched'' at himself when he realized his idiocy, you could not see his gesture.
"Give me your hand" He ordered.
You raised your hand in front of you, waited for him to take it and stood up with his aid. "Thanks" You smiled at him, or so you thought.
"I'm right here" The man lifted a brow crossing his arms over his chest.
"Oh" You turned towards the voice and thanked again.
Fortunately, all the ingredients were safe and sound in the bag, even the eggs. Nonetheless, your cane was still missing.
"Do you know where my cane is? I couldn’t find it" He looked around and found the stick broken in two. "I don't think it'll take you anywhere" he replied.
"Holy Walls!" You scratched your head and sighed. "Hey, stranger, are you free until noon?"
"I have no intention of becoming your guide" He harshly responded.
"But... would you let this poor, blind girl wander around on her own?" You sniffled with your bottom lip jutting out.
"Alright" He rolled the eyes. "What's our next stop?" You celebrated your little victory by throwing your arms in the air. Levi, indeed, was free until dinner time. Hange and the others had kicked him out of the headquarters and told him not to be back before seven bells. That's why he decided to go to the market and try his luck finding rare herbs and special blends.
"Wait, I'm not supposed to leave with strangers" You said adjusting your woolen cap. "I'm (name)"
"Levi"
"Pretty name" you noted. "Well Levi, I'm on a special mission to find ginger; but first, we must make a strategic stop at the cranberry pies stall" He took your hand and placed it right above his elbow. "Thanks" You muttered and gently squeezed his arm, feeling the muscle beneath his coat.
"Oi!"
"Sorry about that" You lowered your head in embarrassment, your cheeks getting warm. "but, you feel good" You mumbled. Levi snorted and shook his head, the corner of his lips lifted. "You're not bad looking yourself"
You lifted your head batting your lashes in a flirtatious manner and leaned closer to him. "You think so? Well, you're good looking too" You laughed. "No, but seriously, your voice is really attractive and I like the smell of fresh lavender of your hair"
Your words made him blush slightly.
As you walked, Levi studied you and found odd that your coat, cap, mittens, scarf and boots were all the same blue color. "Who picks up your clothes? An eight-year-old?"
"A ten-year-old actually. But my winter clothing is all blue because it's my favorite color, and I don't have to waste time matching each piece"
"So, you know about colors" His curiosity sparked.
"Yeah, I wasn't born blind. I lost my eyesight due to an infection when I was a child" you explained. "At first, I felt insecure and vulnerable, but as I grew up I started to accept my reality and learnt to adapt. Besides, I've been blessed with the people I've come across, they're always willing to help." you smiled.
You reached the pastry sale and bought two pies to go. You wanted to surprise your older brother, and if you were lucky enough, he would forget about your broken cane;  the other one was all for you.
"Aw, you two make a good couple" The old lady commented while packing the sweet treats, making you blush hard. Luckily, you couldn't see the red shade creeping across your companion's face.
"We're not dating" You stated in unison. Levi shoved his hands in his pockets and his eyes darted around while you toyed with a lock of hair.
"I thought someone had finally stolen Captain Levi's heart" The elder woman winked and handed the bags to the ravenette. "Have a good day!"
When you were on your way to get the spice for your recipe, you were first to break the silence. "Captain Levi from the Survey Corps? Humanity's Strongest Soldier?"
"Are you a fangirl?" He lifted a brow looking at you.
"Nope, not me. My nephew is the fanboy" A chuckled scape your lips. "He wants to join the Scouting Legion when he grows older. My brother is not so happy, though." You shrugged.
Once you found the final ingredient, Levi offered to take you home. You didn’t live far from the main square and, even though you insisted you knew the way by heart, he didn't feel like taking any risk. In truth, he wanted to spend as much time as he could with you. In such brief time, he had fallen into your spell. It might have been your looks, or your charismatic, cheerful personality; or perhaps the combination of both. He wasn't sure about his feelings, but he wanted to learn more about you.
You didn't want to say goodbye either. The little time you had spent with him had sparked your curiosity. You had heard the rumors about Captain Levi, but you knew there was more behind his unfriendly personality and sarcastic remarks. There was more behind that hard shell and you were willing to crack it.
"Here" he handed you the two bags of pies and only released his grip when he made sure you had them secured in each hand.
"This one is for you" you kept one of your arms extended in front of you for him to grabbed the bag. "Happy Birthday Captain Levi"
Levi was taken aback and shyly took the craft paper bag from your hand. "Thanks, but..."
"I told you my nephew is a fanboy, and that lady said cranberry pies are one of your favorites"
You remained silent for a while; you opened your mouth then closed it again, as you regretted what you were about to say. Your heart was beating fast, and the warm feeling invaded your cheeks again. You removed your mittens off and put them in your pockets. With your bare hands you took your necklace off and walked closer to him, patting his coat until you found a pocket and put the piece of jewelry inside.
"What are you doing?" He asked squinting his eyes.
"I'm making sure we'll meet again. You already know where I live, all you have to do is to knock on my door"
"Clever brat" He admitted.
"And, I'm giving myself an excuse to touch you" You winked.
Levi leaned closer and whispered to your ear. "You better have freshly baked cookies for the day I come back"
"Count on it" you grinned.
After that day, you woke up every morning to make a batch of your best recipe of ginger cookies, yearning for his return.

“Shoto-do you really have to go?”
You asked, a pout on your lips as you gazed at your boyfriend.
You were still cuddled up in your shared bed, the heat from Shoto’s skin already dissipating out of the sheets.
You pursed your lips, sitting up crossed leg as You watched him slide each button of his shirt sleeve into their slots, his washed, bi colored hair slightly wet from his shower.
“You know it’s not fair to look that good and then just leave,” you gave him a fake, stern look, earning a small smirk from the man.
He continued working up the shirt, looking sleek yet-well-delicious.
Shoto was just too handsomr for his own good-sharp jawline, perfect skin, piercing bi colored eyes, not to mention his amazing body….sometimes you had to wonder how you were able to get such a flawless man to end up with you.
He finished with his other sleeve, peeking a look at you as he slicked his hair back with his right hand, the strands mixing and framing his face perfectly,
why’d he have to look that good?
“It’s not as if I want to leave, dear-but I do have work,”
You cuddled deeper into the sweatshirt you were wearing, your hands dissappearing in the sleeves.
“But you’re always working-you cant take one day off?”
Shoto chuckled at your obvious neediness, making his way over to where you were sitting. He leaned across the bed to be in front of your sulking form, brushing a piece of your bed head from your face as he laid a gentle kiss on your lips.
“Evil doesn’t take a day off love,”
“Why do you always have to be so-so stoic all the time,” You giggled, playfully placing your hand on his chest and pushing him back.
Even though you and Shoto had been living together for over a year now, it never ceased to amaze you how much the man worked. After working at an agency after UA, Shoto had been incredibly busy-and being the #3 hero, you could see why. If it wasn’t a late night call, he was patrolling, interviewing sidekicks, training, teaching students on their hero studies, interviewing with magazines….he always had something to do.
You couldn’t get mad at him though-he had warned you in the beginning, but you were also accustomed to the hero life as well- well, somewhat.
You had gone to UA to be part of the hero suit course, and had become suit designer for the top heroes (hence how you met Shoto). You witnessed day in and day out how difficult it truly was to be a hero, even if you weren’t one yourself, so you didn’t mind when Todoroki was gone all the time. Yes, it got lonely at times, especially during the holiday season, but you made sure to keep a smile on for him.
“Don’t forget, I did take Christmas off,” Shoto gave you a small grin, his bicolored eyed searching to please you.
You smiled back, your heart thumping out of your chest as you poked him gently in the chest.
“After I asked you too,” you corrected, a teasing tone in your voice.
-And thank god too, I would have so lonely by myself,” you tried to chuckle at your remark, making the situation light.
Shoto knew you too well though-something about your voice didnt sound as happy and light as before. When you joked with him, your laughs were more cheerful and your smile was brighter-but something about you right now felt strange...as if you were holding something back from him.
Shoto’s grin turned into concern, his digits cupping your cheeks gently and guiding your eyes to look at his.
“Have you been feeling lonely lately?” He asked bluntly, your eyes growing wide.
Man-you couldn't hide anything from him.
You chuckled nervously, looking to the side, guilt beginning to fill your chest.
“I-I, no, it’s fine, really, I was only kidding,” you chuckled, your voice taking on a higher pitch.
“You don’t seem to be kidding,” Shoto bite the side of his lip, trying his best to make eye contact with you, “if you want to tell me something, you don’t have to be afraid.”
“Be afraid of the number three hero-“ You rolled your eyes playfully, a soft smirk on your lips, “-never.”
Shoto gave a small grin, worry still in his eyes. He knew something was strange about you lately, the way you seemed to be always craving for him. He hated to admit it, it boosted his ego somewhat to have you were so desperate for his touch- but he knew it wasnt healthy for you to be always missing him.
With him being a pro hero, he had quite alot more duties than most could imagine- which sadly left little for him to indulge in his own personal life. Shoto felt deeply lucky to have someone like you who understood his busy schedule, never batting an eye when he had to cancel yet another date or leave you by yourself on countless nights...but it still left a gnawing sensation of guilt sitting in his stomach.
“Im fine Shoto,” your voice broke into his thoughts, your tone gentle and sweet like a sun kissed cloud, “really.”
Shoto sighed, his thick lashes fanning his cheek. You were stubborn at times, especially when you wanted to reassure him-which only affirmed that you really werent feeling all that great as you said you were. But Shoto didnt want to push it any further- maybe you were really okay, and he was overthinking it….and he was going to be late if he didnt leave soon-
“Go kick some ass for me, kay?”
you gave him a wide smile, placing another quick kiss on his lips.
Shoto blinked a few times, a rush of adrenaline filling his body as he felt your skin against his. His lips tingled from the agonizingly quick touch-he took it upon him to give you a deeply intense kiss, the rush making you breathless.
Shoto pulled away, his eyes having the rarest glint of mischief as he stared back into yours
“Of course love,”
。・:*:・゚★ 。・:*:・゚★
“Ya ready Shoto?” You grinned, your body snuggled into your comfiest pair of pajamas and your fingers warmed by a hot cup of cocoa.
Christmas Day has finally came, and thankfully, Shoto kept his promise-he would be staying the whole day with you with no interruptions.
You were just so excited to finally have one day to selfishly love your boyfriend, and on a holiday too!
The room almost felt surreal-it was early morning, the Christmas tree you two decorated light up like a Star, class Christmas music playing in the background, homemade cookies littering the apartment in a sweet aroma and the room in a romantic warm haze of lights.
It just felt so unbelievable perfect and comfortable, Shoto looking sheepishly excited and nervous.
“I think you should go first,” you smiled up at him as he sat down next to you, black coffee snuggled into his hand (in a DynaMIGHT mug, of course gifted to him by the hero himself).
Shoto bit his lip, seemingly trying to hide a smile as he set his mug down on the coffee table.
“Not to be rude love,” he grinned, his hands gently grabbing a large box from under the tree. The paper was a shiny golden hue, snowflakes on the paper reflecting like glitter from the lights on the tree. He slide the box against the wooden floor, being strangely gentle with the contents.
“But my gift cant wait.”
Your eyebrows were knitted together, a confused grin on your lips.
The box was pretty big-what did he get you now?
Shoto never seemed to give you endlessly expensive gifts, having no concept of what was considered fancy or exorbitant- trips to places you could only dream of, hefty amounts of clothes and jewelry, merchandise from your favorite shows...hell you had to talk him out of buying you a car one time-this guy would drop anything to get you whatever you wanted.
And that made you guilty as hell whenever he did-so what did he give you this time around?
Your mind was racing as you looked at the box, trying to read whatever he was thinking about on his face.
“I swear to god Shoto if you bought me that expensive gaming system-“
He chuckled at your obviously guilty face, shaking his head as he smiled.
“No, no it’s nothing like that-“ he said, giving you a mischievous grin, “I think you’ll like it much better than that.”
You blinked a few times, your mind going completely blank.
What could be better than a PS5, Xbox, or Switch?
You looked down at the box, feeling strangely nervous as you obeyed Shoto’s wishes, slowly opening the top lid….until it rustles.
The box.
Moved on its own.
You squeaked out in surprise, your hands slamming the barely opened lid back down and looking at Shoto for help.
He had never seen you look so adorably confused in his life, a rosy hue on his cheeks as he looked at you with a loving expression.
“It’s okay,” he whispered reassuringly as he wrapped his hands nervously around yours.
You felt him guide your hands up, you both now lifting the lid off the large box.
Shoto took it and placed it gently on the ground, sitting back to watch you look into the box.
The box rustled again, your mind so utterly confused….what could make a box do that?
“Shoto I-“ you tried to ask, but all he did was nod to the box, signaling for you to just look.
You did as you were told, getting on your knees to peer inside…
A gasp left your lips, your heart beating out of your chest as you looked inside at the sweet little baby kitten playing with their bowl of yarn in the box.
“Hi baby,” you cooed in awe at the little baby, your hands scooping them out and snuggling them to your chest.
They were so soft and warm, their fur as white as a snowball with rosy pink paws.
“Oh my god-Shoto-you really didn’t- are they really-?” You were in such a state of shock, you couldn’t seem to form any coherent words as you looked at your sheepish boyfriend.
“I-I didn’t know exactly what to get you...but after seeing how much you missed me throughout the day, I thought it was fitting to get you a companion for when I’m gone,” he smiled, his digits nervously fidgeting in his lap as he waited for your approval.
You petted the little creature on your chest, it’s big doe eyes staring at you with such confusion you couldn’t help but giggle.
“Shoto…it’s perfect,” you smiled at your boyfriend, leaning in to plant him a kiss on his lips.
You giggled at his expression, clearly not expecting your show of affection as his cheeks turned a fiery red.
“I-I’m glad to here that,”

Can I get some Naga slight angst/fluff? Maybe an enemy group took the s/o and Naga has to negotiate getting them back (like $12 million) and daddy gets them back because “$12 million is a cheap price to get you back” idk I’m in love with how you write for the cod operators ❤️
Need this 😌💖💖💖💖 I turned it into a whole little fic, so I hope that's ok! This got pretty heavy, ngl, but I think it turned out sweet, so I hope you enjoy!!
Reader Pronouns: she/her
Warning: strong language and some pretty disrespectful language towards women, including implied physical violence if you squint, so be careful while reading guys!!!
Naga clears the trinkets and fine antiques off his desk with a full sweep of rage. A vase shatters and a small, crystal idol chips, but all he sees is short, typed ransom note before him.
A rival gang managed to snatch you up in the streets not two days ago. He's been worried sick ever since you didn't come home that evening, and even now it hasn't abated by much. No, instead an anger just as intense as the worry and fear rises to join the others. His entire being trembles almost imperceptibly as he reads the details of the letter.
They want 100 billion kip in gold. He has three days to bring it to the drop point in exchange for you. No guns or weapons on him or his men.
He slams a fist on the desk and collapses his head into his hands. Naga clenches a fistful of hair in one hand and swipes the note out of his sight with the other. He weighs his options only to realize...
Well, he doesn't really have any, does he?
He's very familiar with this group. They're ruthless cutthroats and, if he's being honest, he wouldn't out it past them to have killed you already and be stringing him along right now. In fact, as much we it makes him sick to say so, he almost hopes they've killed you.
It would be a much better fate then what they usually do to their victims.
Even three days is far too long to be in their captivity. God, just the thought of their hands on you... He shrieks in rage, wishing there was something else in his vacinity that he could destroy. But he knows that wouldn't help.
No, the only thing that would help him right now is having you back.
Kapano calla in his right hand man and throws the crumpled up letter to him. "Get the money", he growls.
The other man opens up the paper and reads the sum. His eyes go wide and before he can even suggest that he might protest this plan, a stiletto knife buries itself in the wood beside his head.
"I said get the fucking money!", he screams, eyes wide, teeth bared, and every muscle within him bristling. The second in command bows his head quickly and dashes off before something far worse is thrown his way.
Naga swears and applies some pressure to his forehead. It feels like his skull is about to split.
He spares a glance outside, then trudges to his room. Your, room. The sun hangs low in the sky and he has yet even more to do tomorrow. One piece at a time, he sheds his combat attire, nursing a headache all the while.
On a normal night, you offer to help him out of all the buckles and straps, and oh what he'd give to take you up on that offer now. At last he unclasps his jewelry down to one final necklace. This is a recent one, a locket you gave him with a tiny picture of the two of you inside. He loved it so much, he's since had it encrusted with a ruby heart and wears it daily.
At the memory of you, suddenly he feels unable to part with it, not even for just a night's sleep. He takes it off reverently and clasps it tightly in his hand. Poping open the little door, he fixates on your lovely face as he trudges to bed.
Naga crawls into his side, distracted for a long moment by the perfectly undisturbed second half of the bed. He knows how much you hate a cold bed. On any other night he'd lay in your spot for you until you join him, just to warm up the sheets for you.
He places the locket on your pillow, a shakiness starting to overtake him as he wonders if he'll ever have the chance to warm your sheets and share a bed with you again. At last he lays his head down, and yet he's unable to take his eyes off your half.
Even still, your pillow smells like oils and creams he bought you for your hair. He suspends his hand just over the pillow a moment, thinking of you. And when he lets it drop, he can't tell if it's the cause or the result of the tears flowing from him.
He can't fucking stand it anymore.
Kapano pulls your pillow close to him, holding it tight as he would you. At least tonight he'll have the comforting scent of you as he suffers another fitful night.
The following days up to the trade are slow and painful. Every night is worse then the last as he consumes himself with the stress and worry surrounding you.
He can't get to the drop point fast enough. In compliance with the ransom note, he and his men are unarmed. So they wait. And wait. And wait....
And just as he's ready to pull his hair out, a truck slowly rolls up the abandoned dirt road.
A small squad of men hop out and approach Naga and his gang. Then, bringing up the rear, the boss shoves you along, a gun pressed snug against your head.
"What the fuck is this? You said no guns!"
The rival boss spits, as though Naga's mere presence leaves a foul taste in his mouth. "What? You think I don't know about them?", he nods his head up.
Far, far in the branches, hidden from view at this angle, more of Naga's men wait in the tree canopy, armed and ready for any sign of foul play.
Damn it.
Naga glances over at you. You're looking pale and rather bruised and beaten. A far cry from the carefree, sun kissed goddess he usually knows.
"Alright, there's the fucking money, now give her to me!"
The other man clicks his tongue and presses his pistol against your temple, "Wait until we're loaded up first, then you can have your precious whore back"
Naga seethes at that, but is afraid to make a sudden movement last he lose you for good. And the rival boss notices. He smirks, a gratingly patronizing tone to his voice "Oh, I'm sorry? Did I insult your little harlot? We both know that's all she is...", He leans in far to close and licks your neck slowly, teasingly, before nipping your earlobe, "Isn't that right, bitch?"
This has gone on long enough. Naga's body quivers with boiling rage as his temper shoots through the ceiling. He shouts a command in his native tongue and a hail of bullets rain down on the opposing gang, the first several of which bury themselves in the man holding you hostage.
Behind him, Naga's men on the ground unsheathe small throwing knives and daggers, taking advantage of the surprise gunfire to press the attack.
But, at the death of their leader, the remaining crew scatters like flies and before long, all is quiet.
Kapano rushes forward to pick you up off the ground. He kneels down and cradles you in his arms as he removes your blindfold and cuts your hands free. Your tears carve small rivers through the dried blood running down your cheeks. You try to speak, but all that you can manage is a choked gasp.
He's never seen you like this before. And he never wants to again.
Naga shushes you, holding you against his chest while he strokes your hair. "Shhh, he's never going to touch you again. I promise", he kisses your forehead and helps you slowly to your feet, "Now let's get you out of here baby"
You don't say a word the whole ride back, but Naga holds your hand and rubs your back all the while. When you get home, he sets up a bath for you with all the salts and fragrances he knows you love. He offers you some help, but you say you'd like some time alone.
Somewhat reluctantly, he respects your wishes and sets off to make a meal and some tea for you both. It's all set up on the mat and pillows adorning the main hall. You look lovely as ever in your silk pajamas and lacy robe when you join him after your bath.
Slowly, you find your voice to speak, but it feels as though your mere presence is enough to earn you the praise Naga is showering you in. He's so focused on you, he nearly forgets to eat.
Once you're all finished, he decides to leave the dishes for later, and instead he pulls you onto his chest as you both recline into the fortress of pillows supporting you. Naga nuzzles your hair and kisses your temple.
You smell like jasmine and fresh citrus, infinitely better then the stench of stale sweat and musk of other men that he received you in.
He kisses your face gently, rubbing some warmth into your shoulders. You enjoy the quiet, but a small sniffing sound interrupts you.
"...Kapano?"
He sniffs again, wiping his eyes with his free hand. "Sorry, I just... God, I-I thought I'd never see you again", tears stream down cheeks, he rests his forehead against the side of yours.
You sigh, wishing you could just forget it all, "I know how you feel"
At that he tenses, and a quiet growl escapes your little tiger, "It'll never happen again, I swear it. I wish I could've pulled the trigger on the bastard myself... He deserved worse then what he got. Far worse"
You press a kiss to the broad tip of his nose and smile softly, "I love you, little dragon"
For the first time since he lost you, all those days ago, he smiles. He's not a big fan of when you first gave him that nickname. He hates to be described as "little", it's not very intimidating. But... Suddenly, it sounds quite endearing.
He kisses your perfumed lips, stroking a thumb over your battered cheek. "I know", he smiles. That night, you sleep out amongst the pillows, right where you are.
Tomorrow night, he'll be looking forward to warming up your side of the bed for you.

Delicious Recipe
I would soon be at an age where I could envision my 50’s. My only daughter was a college student. I didn’t think of myself as too much of a passionate clerk, but I was fond of my current job at a mass retailer. Said shop was on the line of so-called “luxury supermarkets” in a way, so it had many products that weren’t available at supermarkets in my neighborhood, which meant stocking shelves was a hassle, but it was fun to look around. It had things such as assortments of high-quality cheeses or pouches of cold soup called vichyssoise. Since the shop was within walking distance of one of the largest stations in Tokyo, its clientele was diverse and there were many first-time customers, but on the other hand, that was exactly why it was so easy to remember the face of repeating customers.
“Hmmm...”
The young man glaring at the syrup shelf for a while now, who seemed old enough to be a university student, was actually a regular customer as well. Said regular – who stood out like a sore thumb in this shop, which had an overwhelming elderly customer base – always asked for simplified receipts. The name on them was “Jewelry Etranger”. Must be from a jewelry store. I believed him to be about as old as my daughter.
He was pacing back and forth in front of the shelf. Even though he usually came to buy snacks such as youkan and cookies, he was groaning in front of the cocktail syrup shelf today. Was it for private use instead of an errand? While I was staring at him, our eyes met, and with an apologetic face, he came over to my counter. There were no other customers.
“Hum, excuse me.”
As I welcomed him with a “yes, what might it be?”, he asked for a strange piece of advice.
“I want to make melon soda.”
“Haa.”
“The kind that you can quickly make into cream soda, with vanilla ice cream floating on top...”
“Haa.”
Then wouldn’t it be all right if he just bought the melon-flavored shaved ice syrup and carbonated water over there and mixed them in the appropriate proportions?
Before I could say this, he cut off, a crease rippling between his brows as he furrowed them, “I want it to be tasty. Very tasty.”
“Haa.”
A tasty melon soda. A very tasty one, no less. What kind of melon soda would that be?
I fumbled around my memory for the latest experience I had with a melon soda. The last time I had gone to a fast food was when my daughter was about ten years old. It had already been quite a long time. But I didn’t think there were any revolutionary changes in taste since then. It was carbonated, green and simply sweet. It didn’t have the same variety as tea or coffee. As if pressed with a stamp, melon soda was just melon soda. It was different from those confusing flavored-tea leaves.
He had actually already bought the melon syrup, he told me. But no matter how he changed the proportion of carbonated water, it didn’t have enough of a punch to it.
“I did some research at bars about how different the taste was from the melon sodas that we drink out there, but I kind of couldn’t tell... I think it might be best if I mix it with something. That’s why I’m looking for syrup, hmmm...”
With the exception of standard syrups for shaved ice, all syrups we handled were meant for cocktails. Bottles of vivid colors, in flavors such as apricot and mint, were lined up there. But I didn’t know whether any of them could be the secret ingredient for melon soda. The prospects were dim.
For starters, why had he decided to make something so troublesome by hand? To the point he was thinking of purchasing a bottle of syrup that was by no means cheap.
Of course, I didn’t say such things in front of the customer, but as if seeing through my hesitation, he smiled, as though a bit embarrassed. “No, hum, I have a friend who likes cream soda. She will be coming to the shop I work at one of these days... so I wanted to surprise her. Ehehe,” he laughed, looking happy.
I would guess that I did nothing but blink silently for a moment. It was an astonishingly good motive. I didn’t know what kind of friend she was or what kind of shop she would be visiting, but if nothing else, she seemed to be someone important to him.
If it were me, that would probably become a memory to last a lifetime.
A secret ingredient for a sweet juice. What suddenly crossed my mind was a time when my daughter was still little. A time when she caught a cold. I once made her a sweet juice when she didn’t want to take her medicine. I had a memory of being troubled as she was reluctant to drink water, saying it was painful. This had happened either in September or October, so there was still some leftover shaved ice syrup from the summer in our fridge. Making sugared water using it as colorant apparently gave it a special vibe, so she cheered up and drank it. Was it just sugared water? Hmm, if I wasn’t mistaken, in order for it to feel refreshing in the mouth, I had added—
“Ah, lemon juice.”
“Eh?”
“Mr. Customer, I’m not a bartender or anything, so I might be giving a wrong guess, but...”
Lemon went surprisingly well with sugared water.
As many cocktail recipes had lemon juice in them, I believed it strained the flavor that tended to unilaterally turn into “sweetness”. I didn’t think there was freshly squeezed lemon in the melon sodas of fast food shops, but if he was in pursuit of tastiness, wasn’t it a possibility?
When I told him this, he looked at me with a happy face, bowing his head with a “thank you very much”. And so, when he was about to leave the store without buying anything, he came back as if remembering something, lining up in front of the register and buying a package of specialty cookies from a certain place. When I was about to make the receipt, he told me he didn’t need it today, so I could tell it was his own pocket money.
“Really, thank you so much,” he said with an uplifting face, and this time, he exited the shop for good.
I didn’t think the suggestion I gave him warranted such consideration, and yet, what a proper child he was. His mother certainly must be happy to have a son like that, I thought, but afterward, I changed my mind, as he might surprisingly not be like that at home. My daughter, too, was an unfettered general at home, but the boyfriend that she discreetly brought over at the end of the previous year said some dreadful things about her, such as that she was a “refined young lady”. I thought they wouldn’t last for long, but it seemed they were still dating. It might be that people possessed many sides, just like those stylistic syrup bottles. Like the gemstones sold in jewelry shop. And he had showed me a wonderful, brightly shining side of his.
As a clerk, I wished from the bottom of my heart that his peculiar act of hospitality would go well.
On Thursday morning, while I was extremely busy with stocking items, someone called to me with an “excuse me”. Even though I wished people wouldn’t talk to me at times like these, I couldn’t let it show on my face. When I turned around with a “yes, what might it be?”, my facial expression froze up. A blond, blue-eyed man was standing there. He was such a beautiful man that you’d end up asking yourself if it was okay to be breathing the same air as him. My face stiffened. He was speaking in fluent Japanese.
“Do you have canned cherries?”
“Eh, hah—aah, cherries?”
“Cherries. I need them urgently,” he said with a sour face.
Whatever might be the situation that required such a pretty young man, who looked like he had fallen from Heaven, to purchase canned cherries, it was beyond me. Anyway, with a manner of walking that looked like a frantic penguin, I guided him to the canned fruits corner and bowed with an “it’s this way”. He smiled as if relieved, leaving me floored.
“Much obliged.”
You’d think of it as an ordinary expression, but it was difficult to describe this with any word other than “bombshell”. His smile was like the glowing summer wind. As a result, you’d find yourself wondering about even unnecessary things, such as if this person had lived a life full of hardships. Was he an actor? Could be a model. His beauty was so removed from this transient realm, so I couldn’t think he was someone from the same world as myself. If a person like him were playing the hero in a tragic drama, I had the feeling that the audience would be a bit turned-off. As in, wouldn’t the role of charismatic villain suit him better? After a brief moment of escapism from reality, I came back to my senses and returned to stocking the items.
Once the checkout of the canned cherries was finished at the register, the elegant man left the shop while cursing someone’s carelessness with an “honestly, that heedless guy,” using a word that even a Japanese person seldom would.
At that moment, for some reason, the figure of that regular customer boy suddenly surfaced in my brain. The one who had told me he wanted to make melon soda. The kind that could quickly be made into cream soda, with vanilla ice cream floating on top. Melon-flavored soda aside, if you wanted to make a cream soda, the cherry was the last thing you should forget - that was what I had always been thinking, but unfortunately, he hadn’t showed up in the shop yet ever since then. Well, someone who had been so obsessed with the melon flavor probably wouldn’t do something like forget about the cherry, but there were instances such as the blond Onii-san of today. If he ever showed up again, I would make sure to mention the cherries.
On that day’s afternoon, I finally gave it a thought, and just as I was going home, I went into a family restaurant for the first time in ten years, and while tasting an awkward embarrassment, I ordered a cream soda. I had actually been wanting to drink it all this time ever since I saw him. My first cream soda in a while had the painfully sweet flavor of childhood.

Darling, it's not me who is trying to kill you! It's just that the buckets are too skkskskhsslsk 🥵
Paz and you playing hide and seek in the forest?
He'd go 100% soldier on a mission mode and find you in no time,
''Looks like I found my precious target'' ,
You being all smol and scaweed 🥺😫,
Then he goes apeshit, wrestling you so hard against the tree that it'd leave marks on your back,
If you were camping in the mountains, he'd pack the tiniest tent and sleeping bag possible to stay as close as it'd be possible,
Paz thinks when you are with him there is no personal space,
Omg, you on top of him, being pounded mercilessly as he'd trap you so hard with his hands around your back,
He'd also press his palm against THE BULGE and nut instantly after he felt your pussy gripping his dick,
Okay, let's stop because, dear god we 'bout to bust, aren't we?
One day you decided to surprise Paz at his work,
You sneaked to the kitchen by the back entrance and hugged him from behind,
He'd slowly turn to face you big smile plastered on his face,
Until he saw what you were wearing,
You put on this baby blue flowy dress,
''Sweetheart, you are looking like a snacc''
My lovely little cupcake, might as well eat you here and now''
He just lifted you with one hand like you weighted nothing and sat you on a counter,
He quickly got rid of your panties (he totally stole them from you because he loves your taste and smell) and was eating you out like a starved man,
Even tho he was cooking all the time, he'd always be hungry for you,
You trying to cover your mouth with your hands so his employees and dinners wouldn't hear you,
But he was fast ro grab your hands and just chuckle saying
''Sweetness, I am the ownere here, right? So let me hear these pretty noises of yours, let people know how good I make you feel''
DID I SAY WE NEED TO CHILL OUT? GUESS I CAN'T STOP MYSELF SORRY
Din would text you through the day and it's a mix between:
''Good morning, my sweet girl, Did you sleep well?'', ''Baby, remember to eat your breakfast'', ''Have you drink enough water today?'',
''Daddy, can't wait to get back home to you'', ''Babygirl, my dick is painfully hard right know, been thinkin' too much about your pretty, little pussy'',
Din is a SHY 😊 and sweet mean, he loves being silly with his class, but the daddy thing makes him wild,
Din you better wash out your mouth with a soap lol,
When you visited him and Grogu to catch up with them, he couldn't keep his cool,
Seeing you playing with Grogu and being so motherly towards the kid sparked something in Din,
When Grogu settled for his afternoon nap, Din would grab you and pin you against the wall, one hand resting on your chest the other tucking hair behind your ear, growling in this rich chocolate timber:
''Sweet girl, you have no idea what you do to daddy'',
But when you innocently sit in his lap in public, he gets all shy and blushy, hesitantly resting his hands on your thighs,
Umm dirty secret? He once stole your white bra and used it to relieve himself when you were away 🤭,
Don't wear low-cut clothing around him or he'd end up crashing into something or landing on his ass,
9/10 times you'd catch him trying to sneak a glance at your tiddies and being all embarrassed when caught,
Giving him a tiddy job but being also able to succ his tip too because he is so well-endowed, Din.exe has stopped working, nutted to death,
If there were more buckedheads I don't know if we could keep on writing these,
Boba lives off his authority and power,
You wanting to keep your relationship professional impressed him a lot,
You weren't another young, stupid girl chasing after his money,
There was going to be another charity event, he send you a beautiful Tiffany choker to pair up with your outfit,
He almost came in his suit pants, when he noticed you giving a speech at the event, wearing his present,
After you were done speaking, he came up to you and the group of other attendees you were talking with,
'' Miss, your speech was really touching and thoughtful '' you instantly feelt so proud, being praised for your hard work in front of all of these people, cheerfully smiling at him,
Before you had time to respond, he got closer to you, smirk crawling up on his face and whispered:
'' Also, this necklace suits you so nicely, princess''
You just got flustered and said to him:
'' Thank you, sir'' while bitting your lower lip,
Well next thing you knew, you were being kidnapped to the parking lot, Boba literally throwing you onto backsit of his car,
Thank God you decided to wear garters and stocking that night
I have nothing more left to say. - 🐣
This AU is just getting better and better, you are such a genius...
Hid and seek with Paz 3729201/10, best fucking idea
Paz just goes absolutely ape shit watching his cock buldge out your belly
Paz stealing your panties whenever he can 😭😭😭
Paz does not understand personal space when it comes to you
He HAS to be touching you in some way when you are around
Holding your hand, hand around you waist, arm around your shoulder, slipping his hand into the back pocket of your jeans
When he first sat next to you in your booth at his restaurant and your thighs touched, his heart soared when you didn't pull away from him
Paz and yours first date, was really like your 12th, but Paz took you to a strawberry farm
Held the baskets as you picked the fruit, constantly telling you that you picked the best berries
After he bought a bottle of strawberry wine, which the two of you shared over a small dinner that he made
Then the next thing you knew you both were on your couch, you on his lap, having a very heated make out session
Which lead to Paz picking you up and carrying you to your bedroom, where the two of you had a very passionate and intense wrestling session
Now, Din, my sweet himbo
He gets soooo flustered with PDA
You once kissed his cheek in front of some people, and you could almost see his brain short circuiting
Din constantly checking on you throughout the day 🥺🥺🥺
He always calls on his lunch break, just to talk with you and see how your day is going and talk about his class
One day when you came to check on Grogu at school, the rest of the kids convinced you to read to them during playtime
Din had to sit behind his desk for a while because just seeing you like that made him so hard
That night he wrestled with you until he passed out
Din once asked if he could keep his cock inside of you all night long
You woke up aching and leaking from how many times the two of had cum during the night
Din had moaned when he woke up and just spulled you under him for an early morning wrestling match
Now for Boba....
Boba always makes sure that you have some kind of present waiting for you in the mornings
Flowers, clothes, jewelry, a five star breakfast, himself
Boba totally gets you the prettiest tiara for his princess
Everything you own soon becomes namebrand, because only the best for his little
The first time Boba seen you wearing one of his gifts he had dragged you into the closest empty room, and left you marked and jelly legged
Boba totally gets you a custom gun for you to carry around for safety
Its inscribed with little one
Boba likes to always have your neck covered in hickies so that people know who you belong too
Boba took you to an art show once and every painting you showed interest in he bought for you
Don't mention liking any famous painters because he will get his hands on an original piece for you
Sorry its not much but these boys are driving me up the wall....
(SEND ME THOTS!!!!)

Traps and Sneaks: Chapter 2 (of 2)
As the Guardian, it’s Marinette’s job to protect the Miracle Box and all of the Miraculous inside of it from evil. Obviously just sticking it away somewhere hidden isn’t going to cut it, so Marinette makes a box to hide it in. A booby-trapped box. A very dangerous booby-trapped box.
And if a certain someone gets their thieving little fingers caught in it, so be it.

Lila sniggered to herself as she snuck up the stairs in the Dupain-Cheng bakery, unnoticed and unhindered.
Really, it had been way too easy to get in. All it had taken was feeding Alya a lie about how she had lent Marinette something to help her finish with their most recent Literature project but hadn't gotten it back, and she was worried about approaching Marinette to ask for it because, well, Marinette had been so busy recently that she probably thought that she had returned it. Lila was worried about appearing like she was accusing Marinette of stealing it if she asked about it, and they were only just starting to fix their relationship after getting off on the wrong foot. Alya had swallowed the lie like it was the most believable thing in the world, clearly thrilled that Lila and Marinette might be on the road to reconciliation, and from there all Lila had needed to do was suggest that maybe it would be easier for her to just fetch her things herself than it would be to ask Marinette.
Alya had been too eager to help, going into the bakery herself and getting permission from Mrs. Cheng to go in. Then she had let Lila in the side door- "I can't possibly go through the bakery myself, what if they recognize me and blame me for the time when Marinette got expelled and don't let me in!" Lila had exclaimed when Alya suggested that she just go in through the front herself- and made sure that she knew the way up before leaving. There had been a dicey moment when Alya moved to come up with Lila and help look, but Lila had waved her off with another excuse, insisting that she didn't want to eat up more of Alya's free time, especially when she knew that Alya and Nino had been thinking of going out for ice cream.
Alya had left, Marinette's parents would be busy in the bakery for hours, and Marinette herself was across the city at some sewing techniques workshop that she had won a full-ride scholarship for and hadn't shut up about all week. There would be no one to catch Lila and plenty of time for her to investigate Marinette's room and find- well, anything she could use against her.
A diary with embarrassing secrets, perfect for blackmail. Money, perfect for- well, money was always a good thing, and so was jewelry that she could pawn. Photos, also for blackmail. Sketches of designs for any other contests Marinette might have her eyes on, to copy and claim that Marinette had taken Lila's ideas. Maybe in-progress commissions that Lila could mess up, all the better to put a dent in Marinette's reputation if the damage wasn't found before she sent the pieces off to whoever had bought them.
One last flight of stairs, and Lila pushed open the door to the Dupain-Cheng apartment. Another set of stairs led up to a trapdoor that Lila could recognize as Marinette's (thanks to Alya's instructions), and she scampered up the steps and into the obnoxiously pink room at the top of the stairs.
The first thing she noticed: it was neat, unlike what Alya had warned her. There wasn't fabric draped all over the place or notebooks left out. On one hand, that would make things more difficult because she would have to search to find anything interesting, and unless Lila wanted to raise suspicion right away, she would have to put away anything she took out. On the other hand, well, it would probably be easier to find some things if she didn't have to dig through piles of fabric scraps or whatever it was that Marinette apparently usually had scattered around her room.
"Okay, first impressions," Lila said out loud as she glanced around. Marinette's school bag was by her desk- maybe she could tear out a couple pages of notes, so Marinette wouldn't have them to study from on the next exam. Next to the desk was a mannequin with what looked like a fairly complete outfit on it, leather pants with a lot of detail work and a matching jacket. Lila fingered the material, glancing at the seams on it. Since the piece was complete- or at least it looked complete- Marinette probably wouldn't look at it too closely before sending it off to its recipient. The recipient who, if the size of the pieces and the look of them was any indication, was probably Jagged Stone.
If she could mess with Jagged Stone's perception of Marinette and maybe mess up their working relationship, that would be perfect. Then he wouldn't feel inclined to do Marinette any favors like, say, coming in to call Lila out on her stories.
Lila decided that she would look for a seam ripper later, when she was poking around the desk. There was no point in stopping her assessment of Marinette's room now for that. After all, she had plenty of time.
The desk was otherwise pretty clear of anything interesting, though Lila was sure that she would dig through it later if she had time. The boxes on it probably just had sewing stuff anyway, and that- well, mixing it up or taking things might annoy Marinette, but she probably wouldn't think that much of it.
Across the room, though- well, there was a storage chest doubling as a bench, and Lila would be very surprised if there wasn't anything interesting in there. There might be a lock to deal with, but she had expected that and brought along her lock picking kit along. A few pokes and she would be in, ready to find out any secrets that Marinette might prefer stay hidden.
"Why couldn't she leave her diary on her desk like a normal person," Lila grumbled anyway, because it was also very possible that she would unlock the chest and find...nothing. Maybe Marinette didn't have any juicy secrets for Lila to exploit, and this whole trip would be- well, not for nothing, because she was still fully intending on causing ill-intentioned chaos, but not nearly as productive as she had hoped.
And considering that Lila was running quite a large risk with her lies to Alya about the thing she had 'loaned' to Marinette, a large payoff would be really preferred.
After a few more minutes of poking around- Marinette didn't keep a diary up near her bed, either, or any jewelry of any value, not that that stopped Lila from pocketing a few exotic-looking necklaces that she could always claim were gifts from people that she met around the globe- Lila turned her attention back to the large storage chest. The lock gave after a minute of working on it, and she flipped the lid eagerly, hoping that- well, hoping that there would be something interesting inside. Instead, she came face-to-face with...presents.
Boring. Knowing Marinette, they were probably all homemade and not worth anything.
Lila scoffed, wrinkling her nose at the pile of gifts. There was nothing interesting about Marinette being so disgustingly organized that she had gifts for her friends prepared well ahead of the holidays and their birthdays. She shoved a couple of the presents to the side, her nose wrinkling further at the next row of equally neatly-wrapped presents underneath.
Except... they were all labeled as being for Adrien.
Lila's eyebrows raised as she glanced at the top row of presents and- yep, all for Adrien. On closer inspection, all of them had little post-its on them with what event- and what year- they were meant to be for.
She sniggered. Marinette was a little obsessed, wasn't she? But as interesting as this was, it wasn't exactly something that she could easily use as blackmail. A bit disappointed, Lila kept digging, shifting packages aside. One more layer, and her fingers brushed against a dark wooden box, one that looked like perhaps Marinette had put it together herself.
It was exactly the sort of thing that a girl like Marinette- someone annoyingly craftsy- would store her diary in. Jackpot.
Smirking, Lila pulled the box out and considered it, her smile dropping as she did. Really, upon second glance, it was surprisingly sloppy, with uneven, dripping varnish and wonky nails. It was ridiculously heavy, even for its size, and especially considering that it was clearly made out of some cheap plywood. And oddly enough, it had two locks on it.
Frankly, the locks were the only reason why she didn't immediately lose interest. If they hadn't been there, Lila probably would have assumed that it was actually a failed project that Marinette was trying to hide.
"Well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out which lock to try," Lila scoffed, setting the box on the floor in front of her and settling down more comfortably to work on it. "That second keyhole isn't even in the right spot!"
Really, had badly had Marinette messed up that she had managed to insert a keyhole in middle of one of the side panels, nowhere close to where the box and the lid had come together? It wasn't even straight- in fact, it was upside down. Shoddy craftsmanship, all around.
(The fact that Lila had never made anything like the box and had no idea how to even approach putting a lock like that on a box or even make any sort of box herself was, of course, completely irrelevant.)
Unlike the lock on the storage bench, the lock on the box wasn't very straightforward. There were more pins in this lock, and each one had to be individually maneuvered into place. Lila worked on it, scowling in concentration as she slowly picked it open.
Either Marinette had just happened to have a lock sitting around that she used, or there was something good inside of the box. No collège student was going to spend the amount of extra money it would take for a fancier lock like this for no reason at all.
With one last careful nudge, the lock gave. Lila grinned in triumph, flipping the box open. The lid seemed a bit heavy- for some reason it seemed to be lined with a strange metal band, but who cared- and there were a few stray papers and a thin journal sitting in the top compartment, on top of a wooden shelf with- you have GOT to be kidding me- another lock, just barely visible. Lila reached in to move them, and suddenly metal flashed, quick as a blink. Lila shrieked in surprise, automatically yanking her hand back, but she was far too late. Pointed metal teeth had snapped shut around her arm, keeping it in place, and- oh god.
They hadn't just closed around her arm. No, they had gone straight through the skin and- oh god the pain-
Lila fainted.

Marinette had been having a lovely time at her sewing techniques workshop. Their instructor had walked the small class through all sorts of different ways of handling material, and next week they would be covering more tricky materials. They had gotten an entire binder with step-by-step photo reminders of what they had learned, and Marinette's already had notes scribbled up and down the margins.
She was so glad that she had won the scholarship to the class. It wasn't that she couldn't afford it herself- after all, with the commissions that she had done lately for Jagged Stone and Clara Nightingale, she wasn't left wanting for money- but considering that she often had to miss things because of akuma attacks, Marinette wouldn't have wanted to spend the money on something that she might not even be able to attend. With the scholarship...
Well, if an akuma showed up, that would still suck. She was learning so much from the class and it would definitely up her design skills. Having to duck out on the class because someone got upset and Hawkmoth had to akumatize them would be a huge disappointment, because she would miss out on so much valuable instruction. But at least she wouldn't be spending her own money on it.
She still felt a bit guilty that she was doing the class and not spending the spare time working on learning more Guardian stuff, but the Order and Master Norbu had assured her that she should make sure to balance her superhero duties and her civilian life. After all, they didn't want her coming to resent her duty as Guardian because of everything that it made her miss out on.
The last section came to an end, and everyone turned off their machines and started packing up. Marinette tucked her sewn samples into her bag with her binder- at some point, she wanted to actually file the fabric pieces in next to their respective instructions, but that was a project for another day- and pulled out her phone, opening it up to check for messages. She had put it on silent for the class- silent with the sole exception of akuma alerts, thank you Max for that setting modification- so that no one would accidentally distract her. Sometimes the class chat blew up over the weekend, and having that pinging constantly throughout the class...
Well, it wouldn't give anyone a very good impression of her, that was for sure.
-and oh boy that was a lot of messages.
"My parents tried to call me ten times, Tikki!" Marinette hissed, all of the relaxation and good feelings from the day gone in a heartbeat as she tried and failed not to catastrophize. "Oh my god, what if one of them had a heart attack or a machine broke and sent pieces everywhere and they're at the hospital and it's really bad and I should have been there and-"
"Call them back!" Tikki urged, sticking her head out of Marinette's jacket as soon as they were clear of the rest of the group. "And- look, it was both of your parents calling, not just one or the other. So that means that they're probably fine, right?"
"Oh!" Marinette considered that for a minute, then dove straight back into her worrying. "Then maybe the bakery caught on fire and burned down and we're homeless and-"
"Just call them back, Marinette!" Tikki exclaimed, though she was looking worried, too. "Then they can tell you what actually happened."
Marinette wavered, then pressed Call. Her mom's phone rang once, twice, and then she picked up.
"Marinette! Ah, is your class over?"
"Yeah, we- we just finished," Marinette responded, her heart rate slowly dropping back towards normal. Her mom didn't sound overly upset, so- maybe it wasn't super-serious? "I- I saw you called? And papa?"
"Yes, I hated to call during your class, but- well, there was an incident," her mom told her, sounding a bit hesitant. "Right away- your dad and I are fine, the bakery is fine, the house is fine. But your classmate- Lila Rossi- she broke into the house and into your room. She got into your storage bench and- anyway, long story short, there was a box in there that was, ah, quite severely booby-trapped?"
Marinette's heart skipped several beats, jumping straight into her throat. The- that was the box where she hid the Miracle Box. It was very well hidden- after all, it had been in a locked storage bench, hidden under Adrien's presents, and then locked (several time over) itself- and she had assumed that that would be enough to keep it undiscovered. If Lila had gotten into it- even just into the first layer- that could be enough to put the Miracle Box in danger. The police might want to know what was in the box, or they might have broken it open to get Lila's hand out- because presumably Lila had gotten her hand caught when she tried to get the box open, and getting the trap open wasn't exactly straightforward- or maybe Lila hadn't been caught too badly and had somehow persuaded someone to open the box for her. "It- yes?"
"Whatever the box is hiding- well, it's still hidden," her mom assured her, and Marinette couldn't stop herself from letting out a sigh of relief. "The second level is still locked. And the doctors did manage to get it off of Lila's arm- well, after a bit of puzzling, at least, they said that set-up was very clever. That was why we called you, actually. We didn't want to bother you, but it was just taking the hospital and the police so long to figure out that lock mechanism and they had been hoping for a clue."
...well, at least her mom didn't sound upset with her. Yet, anyway.
"We've gotten the box back now," her mom continued. "And we've already dealt with the police, so you don't need to worry there. They understand that Lila wasn't meant to be in our house, much less your room, and that the box was securely hidden and locked up. The only reason they might want to talk to you is to learn more about why Lila might have broken in."
"To make me look bad, I bet," Marinette said dryly. "To steal things, or plant evidence, or try to find something to blackmail me. Why else?"
"Lovely girl." Her mom said something to someone else on the other end of the line, muffled and indecipherable, before she came back. "That's all, really. Will you be coming back soon?"
"Yeah, I'm heading for the bus stop."
"All right. See you soon!"
With that, the call disconnected. Marinette stared at her phone for a minute, then glanced down at Tikki. Her kwami looked just as worried.
"I thought that you had hidden the Miracle Box really well!" Tikki exclaimed. "That was a really nice place, and no one ever goes digging in there! Add in the fact that you had it locked, and it should have been fine."
"Yeah, but clearly Lila was digging around with the intention of finding anything that I had hidden," Marinette told her. She let out a sigh, the stress starting to inch back in on her, taking all of the relaxation from her sewing class away. Maybe the Miracle Box hadn't been found today, but- well, this was hardly going to be the end of this whole fiasco. If (when) Lila got akumatized again, she would probably go after the box again to see if she could break it. She might tell people at school about it- changing, of course, the reason why she had been in Marinette's room in the first place and making up completely different circumstances as to how she had ended up with her hands on the box. While Marinette really had no choice but to return the box to its previous spot for the moment- after making sure that it was re-set, of course- it wouldn't be completely safe for the long term.
At least summer break was coming up soon and she had already been doing research on how to DIY hidden compartments. Clearly she would need to use that knowledge earlier than intended.
"Maybe she'll actually get in trouble this time," Tikki offered hopefully. "I mean, breaking and entering, trying to steal- you could try to press charges."
"Maybe, but considering how injured Lila probably is, she'd probably pull the sympathy card." Marinette groaned. "I don't understand how she even got in! We've been keeping the side door locked, and mom knows better than to let Lila into the house."
"If she got through the locks on the bench and the box, Lila probably knows how to pick locks," Tikki reminded her. "She might have just picked her way through the door downstairs."
That was a terrifying thought, honestly. That someone like Lila could just pick her way past a door lock and get in her house...
"If that's what happened, I'm definitely going to petition my parents to get better locks." Marinette checked her room again, then headed back down the stairs. Tikki flew after her, phasing into her purse. "I don't think they would agree to put in booby traps, too, but- ugh, I'm going to be worrying about people getting into the house now."
"Maybe it's just a matter of the lock being old and needing to be replaced," Tikki suggested. "Hopefully your mom knows more."
"I hope so!"
It felt like it took forever for the bus to come, and then it trundled along the streets far too slowly for Marinette's taste. She spent the entire trip worrying over different scenarios where Lila could twist things around to make Marinette look like the bad guy and trying to figure out where she could add a hidden compartment to her room, somewhere where no one would notice the addition.
This far, she was coming up blank. Maybe she could put something on her balcony- but that just didn't seem secure enough. It would be far too easy for a passing akuma (or, perish the thought, a passing supervillain) to accidentally knock into and destroy a hidden compartment. No, it would be better to get creative inside her room.
Once she hopped off of the bus, Marinette wasted no time in hurrying home. The bakery was still open- hopefully business hadn't been interrupted too much by Lila's injury- and she headed in, sparing a quick smile for a few regular customers that she recognized. Her parents had one of their normal bakers working the counter in her mom's place, clearly finishing up the day so that the Dupain-Chengs would be able to deal with the mess going on in their home.
Hopefully it wasn't messing production up too much. If both of her parents were upstairs and they had one of the normal back kitchen bakers at the counter, that meant fewer hands on deck to start preparing things for the next day. And since the staff wouldn't stay overtime, that meant that her parents would end up working long hours.
Freaking Lila. Of course she just had to make life difficult for everyone else simply because she was spiteful and fixated on revenge.
Not wasting any time, Marinette headed upstairs. Her mom was in their kitchen and on the phone, her back to the door, but her dad wasn't anywhere in sight. That meant he was probably downstairs, which suggested that she actually wasn't in trouble because she had the trap. If she had been, her dad would be there too, his arms folded and a frown on his face.
Her mom, though, was more than making up for the frowning as she argued with whoever was on the other end of the line.
"No, I am not arguing the definition of 'breaking and entering' or 'trespassing' with you," Mrs. Cheng snapped into the phone, mere seconds after Marinette entered the room. Marinette paused, blinking over at her mom in confusion. Normally her mom didn't raise her voice over the phone. "You are not a resident here, you do not get to let people in who we don't want inside. That is outright irresponsible behavior- no, I do not care what your interpretation of the situation was, I already told you that. And I will be contacting your mom about this. Perhaps she can get it through your head how unacceptable your actions were. Good-bye."
With that, Mrs. Cheng hit the end call button with a flourish, scowling at the phone for a moment before noticing Marinette. Her scowl was promptly replaced with a smile. "Marinette! How was your class?"
"It went well," Marinette told her, biting back the urge to gush. That could wait until dinner, after the more pressing issue of Lila's break-in had been dealt with. "Who was on the phone?"
"That was Alya," Mrs. Cheng told Marinette with a sigh. She pocketed her phone and washed off her hands before returning to her dinner prep. "I was calling to ask her if- well, she stopped by earlier to get something, so I wanted to know if she saw or heard anything out of place while she was here. I just wanted to try to get a better idea of when Lila might have broken in so we wouldn't have to go through as much security footage-"
"Wait, why did Alya come over?" Marinette interrupted, frowning in confusion. She hadn't borrowed anything from Alya recently, and normally Alya at least texted her to let her know if she was borrowing anything from Marinette for some reason while she wasn't home.
"I was getting to that, don't interrupt," Mrs. Cheng gently chided her. "Anyway, Alya seemed pretty surprised about us having a break-in... until I mentioned that it was Lila."
Marinette groaned. She was getting a sinking suspicion that she knew where this was going. "Please don't tell me that Alya let Lila in."
"...Alya let Lila in," Mrs. Cheng confirmed, sighing. "...on the plus side, at least she didn't pick her way in through our doors. I would be looking into swapping out our locks if that were the case."
"Why on earth would she think that that would be a good idea in any way?" Marinette exclaimed. "And- well, presumably she let Lila in and then just ran off instead of supervising her, which- even if Lila somehow made up some reason for having to stop by my room, why wouldn't Alya at least have the common sense to stay with her?"
"Well, from what Alya said, Lila said that she had loaned you something and you had forgotten to give it back, and she was worried about bringing it up and making you upset... because you might think that you had already returned it and think that she was trying to frame you. Or something." Mrs. Cheng pinched the bridge of her nose, clearly exasperated. "It sounded like Lila was making it sound like you two were starting to mend bridges. And I told Alya that Lila was found with a lock picking kit and some jewelry from your Nonna Gina in her pockets, but she's still insisting that it was all a misunderstanding. "
"How- how much did you tell Alya?" Marinette asked suddenly, brain all of a sudden dancing with pictures of Alya hearing about the trap and trying to dig into what, exactly, Marinette was trying to hide. She presumably had enough sense to not go digging through Marinette's things in hopes of an interesting discovery, especially considering how hurt Lila had gotten, but that didn't mean that Alya wouldn't incessantly ask her questions, and within hearing distance of other people, too.
Not that Lila probably wouldn't bring up the trap on her own- or would she? Why would she? There would be no way to talk about it without making herself look bad. But if Lila's reputation was tanking anyway, maybe she would bring it up just to make Marinette look bad, too.
"Not much," Mrs. Cheng assured her. "I didn't have to. I implied that Lila got into a locked box of sewing things and cut herself that way, which is very believable. Your fabric scissors are sharp, as are your rotary cutters, and it's not hard to believe that someone who wasn't familiar with that box might get themselves injured. I'm not going to tell your most inquisitive friend about your very mysterious and heavily-guarded trap box."
Marinette breathed out a sigh of relief.
"On a related note, I suspect that Alya might not be very keen on coming over here for a while," Mrs. Cheng added. "I was not subtle about how irritated I was with her. And she just kept on digging her heels in more whenever I pointed out things that she wasn't considering or just flat-out missed." She paused, looking slightly sheepish. "And I may, before you got back, have insulted her investigative and observational skills. Just a little bit. I just got too mad about the fact that she fell for such an obvious lie and didn't even try to check with you about it before she went ahead and let Lila in."
Honestly, Marinette couldn't blame her mom for exploding. She couldn't believe that Alya would have done that- and apparently still thought that she was completely justified in doing it. If Lila hadn't gotten herself injured and had gotten away without being caught, who knew what sort of damage she could have caused or what information she might have gotten her hands on?
Frankly, if things had gotten to that point, once she realized what had happened, Marinette probably wouldn't have been able to resist the urge to pull out the Horse and Portal Lila to somewhere dangerous. The arctic, maybe, or the surface of the Moon. She wouldn't be able to cause trouble there.
After a pause, Mrs. Cheng nodded towards the couch. "Your box is there. I think the police said that it's currently disarmed, but be careful with it."
Marinette nodded, scooting around the table to grab the box off of the couch. She was planning on being super careful. After working so hard on the trap- well, she had once gotten a cut on her finger while she was assembling the booby trap, and that had been without any force behind it. She had no intention of becoming acquainted with those same blades with force behind them.
Besides, the box was completely safe when it was disarmed, and Marinette really didn't think that she was likely to ever just forget to disarm it, not with all of the safety measures she had deliberately built in. All that took was unlocking the second lock first- the crooked one that looked like it had been a mistake, or just a practice run on a spare piece of wood that ended up not being a spare piece- and then she could unlock the lid itself. There was a visible latch on the inside that would give away- to her- if the trap was set or not, and she always checked it just in case before sticking her hand in.
"I know how to open it safely and make sure that it's disarmed before I put my hand in," Marinette assured her mom. "After all, I designed it. I won't forget how to do it."
"Honestly, I figured that much. It wasn't a reassurance when I looked at the box at first because honestly, it doesn't look like an expertly engineered box." Mrs. Cheng smiled over at Marinette. "But that's deliberate, isn't it? No one would suspect that there's anything inside when it looks like a beginner's project."
"It was either make it look like that or try to make some sort of ornate box with a hidden key hole so that no one could figure out where the lock was, but- well, I don't have the time or skill to do that sort of carving." Marinette ran one hand over the box, remembering how much effort it had taken to make the box really solid and then go back and make it look like a beginner's project, ramshackle and not at all sturdy. If the person looking at the box knew anything about construction, the presence of the lock would probably give away the fact that she knew what she was doing, but Marinette was willing to bet that most people wouldn't know that. "It would have been cool, though. I've seen some locks online where people would never figure out how to open it unless they had been shown how, and that would have been nice."
Hawkmoth would probably just try to slice the box open then, but- well, if he did, he was in for a surprise. The wood might crack, but the enchanted metal underneath wouldn't budge.
"You've done quite a bit of research about this, then." Mrs. Cheng considered Marinette for a long moment, and she resisted the urge to squirm. "Honestly, there's a part of me that really wants to question the box and say no to you having it, because it's clearly dangerous- I mean, I saw the damage that it did to Lila- and even though I know you'll be careful, it's hard to be comfortable with the idea of that being in your room. But clearly you've been responsible with storing it, and I trust that you wouldn't have gone so far out of your way to get the materials and do the modifications to that trap if you didn't think it was important to protect whatever is in there." She took a deep breath, and Marinette could tell that her mom was severely torn about whatever she was about to say. "So your dad and I are going to allow it, and we won't ask about what you have in the box. Heaven knows you deserve some privacy."
Marinette let out a sigh of relief. "I- thank you."
"And- I didn't want to say anything over the phone, but the police had originally wanted to talk with you about why you had that trap on the box," Mrs. Cheng continued, and Marinette's heart dropped right back into her feet, the moment of relief gone. "Because- well, normally kids your age don't have stuff like that. But- oh, you should have seen it. Your dad got very puffed-up and huffy with them about how this was the second time in less than two years that a classmate of yours had been caught breaking into your room with ill intentions and were you not allowed to protect your things? And one of the police was Officer Raincomprix, so of course he was in a pretty big hurry to drop that line of questioning. Particularly when he was reminded that his daughter was the other classmate that had snuck in."
Marinette hastily muffled a laugh. She would have loved to see that, honestly. "And they didn't say that they would, like, come back later or anything?"
"Only to get a statement from you that Lila wasn't meant to be at our house at all. Your father and I discussed it, and- if it's all right with you- we'd like to pursue pressing charges. We've heard enough about Lila that we want to make sure that she won't be bothering you in the future. Breaking and entering is just- she's taken it too far. She's been taking it too far, and I apologize for both your dad and I that we haven't taken it seriously. No disorder is going to compel someone to target you to the degree that she has been, much less plot to break into your room." Mrs. Cheng shook her head, clearly disgusted at herself for having fallen for the lie. "At the very least, we want to look into getting a restraining order. That should keep her away from you."
"What if Lila spins some tale or tries to get sympathy and we can't get the order?" Marinette asked. Even with their evidence- well, from the sounds of it, Lila's hand was probably pretty mangled, and she didn't have the magical healing potion that Marinette kept on hand just in case to put it back to normal. "What if they decide that her hand is punishment enough?"
"Then we'll argue that." Mrs. Cheng's voice was firm. "If you testify about what Lila has been like, then the courts will know that she's likely to just go back to school and cry about her wrist to get sympathy. And they've seen people like her before, I'm sure. They're not going to be as easily fooled as your teachers and classmates and- well, and your dad and I."
Marinette swallowed and nodded. That would be nice. That would be really nice.
"And if they do- well, and even if they don't- I will be talking to Lila's mother. There's no way she knows what her daughter has been up to, if she still was letting her run around." Mrs. Cheng nodded once, sharp, and Marinette knew that there would be no stopping her mom now. She was determined to keep Lila away from Marinette and force her to see the consequences of her actions, and so it would happen.
Honestly, Marinette had the best parents ever.

Marinette let out a sigh of relief as she tucked the box back in its spot, piling the presents for Adrien back on top of it and shutting the lid of her storage bench. It locked with a thud and a sharp click, sounding sturdy and secure.
It was too bad that that was a lie. Marinette ran her fingers over the lock, wondering if she should try switching out the lock for a different style, something that would be harder- or, even better, impossible- to pick. It might be hard to do that without attracting attention, though, and if she messed it up?
It would be better to not have signs of tampering on her bench, just in case. Maybe she should practice with putting in and taking out locks on a bit of scrap wood first.
A blanket went over the bench, set at a jaunty angle, just casual enough that it didn't look arranged. Marinette's backpack went next to it, the perfect picture of nothing here to see.
And still Marinette worried her lip.
"It'll be fine, Marinette!" Tikki told her, zipping up next to her shoulder. "Downstairs is all locked up, the box is hidden, and the bench is locked. No one is going to be breaking in- and Lila is in the hospital anyway."
"I know, but..." Marinette trailed off, glancing around her room. Whenever someone entered her room without her consent- when Sabrina broke in, after Jagged Stone's camera wandered in while broadcasting live to all of Paris, and then now with Lila- she always felt thrown off kilter and uncomfortable, out of place and not as secure as normal in her own room. It wasn't ever a nice feeling.
She couldn't even safely leave her diary out in her room. Not her diary, not anything that might be the least bit valuable, not any signs of her crush or anything that might even hint at her double life. Maybe it would be a good idea to tuck those things away anyway, but there was a difference between having to simply put things away instead of leaving them out in the open and having to lock everything away under several layers of protection.
Marinette was starting to get the feeling that once she was older and had her own place, there would be a lot of personalization with false walls and hidden compartments where she could hide away- well, everything, really. All of the parts of her life that she might be at all leery of anyone finding out about.
It was always going to be a good idea to hide the Miraculous stuff, especially while Hawkmoth was active, but Marinette should be able to expect some measure of privacy in her own room. The fact that she apparently couldn't...
Maybe it was a better idea to not dwell on that too much. And, with any luck, they wouldn't have any trouble going forward. She and her parents had talked over dinner and come up with a new rule for letting in friends and classmates: all visits had to be approved by Marinette before they set foot through the door. If she let them in herself it was fine, of course, but if they came in through the bakery and wanted to be let up then Sabine had to have a text on her phone from Marinette approving it. There would be no more surprise visits from her friends- or at least no truly surprise visits, since she would at least get a couple minutes' warning from her mom's inquiry text- and no more people going up to her room when she wasn't there 'just to grab something really quickly, honest'. If someone tried to come over as a surprise and Marinette didn't see her mom's text right away- either because she was just busy or because she was out as Ladybug- then that was just too bad. They didn't just get to saunter up and poke around in her room unattended until she got back.
That- well, security reasons aside, it was a really good change. There had been multiple times lately when Marinette had been in the middle of trying to catch up on homework and one (or more) of her friends burst in and interrupted her, and that had both thrown her completely off and eaten up time that she really didn't have to spare because she felt bad about sending them away when they had come over to see her. There hadn't been any times yet where Marinette had been out as Ladybug and came back to find someone in her room, but, well, she couldn't get lucky forever. If they hadn't made the change, then it would probably only be a matter of time before Ladybug slipped into her room after a long fight and found Alya waiting there.
(That would be a disaster.)
"At least I hadn't gotten around to painting the trap with the poison that the Order sent me," Marinette commented after a pause, pushing away thoughts of her new visiting arrangements and how she really should have implemented them earlier for the time being. The poison was a new suggestion from the Order, something to completely ensure that Hawkmoth wouldn't be able to steal the Miraculous, and it was a suggestion that made her really, really nervous. She fiddled with one of the tassels on the blanket, then resolutely turned and headed up to bed. "The police might have been fine with the bear trap- if only barely- but a bear trap coated in poison? I would have gotten in so much trouble."
"I still think it would be a good idea to put it on," Tikki told her. "I know it ups the scary factor even more, but in case Hawkmoth finds the box and he doesn't pass out from the trap- or if it doesn't catch him as much as it sounds like it got Lila, since he might be expecting a trap!- then it should still keep him from getting away scot-free. You have the antidote and the healing potions, so you should still be safe!"
"In theory, at least." Sure, the Order had assured her that it would take some time for the poison to kick in, enough time for her to get to her remedies- a delay of sorts, followed by it absolutely flooring the unfortunate person affected- but that still depended entirely on her keeping her head long enough to actually get to them.
Maybe she needed to consider a rearranging of where things were so that there would be less distance between the box and the antidotes, just in case that very dangerous and (hopefully) very unlikely scenario of the box snapping shut on her ever happened.
Ugh. More things to do, as though she didn't already have enough on her plate. But Tikki was right- Hawkmoth was too much of a threat to keep putting off the secondary level of protection. She would just have to be super careful around the box- even more than she had been before- and prioritize getting her remedies located closer to the hidden Miracle Box.
That, and she definitely had to make sure that she kept her remedy up-to-date, no slacking and letting it come close to expiration. And, well, she had to make sure that she didn't use up the healing potion- the potion that would immediately reverse the damage from the trap in case something went wrong- with injuries that she got while sewing or tripping over her own feet.
At least she knew how to make the healing potion. As long as Marinette kept an eye on how much she had- and her (poorly) hidden supply of potion ingredients, those had to be next on her list of things to build hiding spots for after a new spot for the box and a close but not too close location for the remedies- and made sure to top it back up whenever she got low, using it for other injuries shouldn't be a problem.
"I'll tell Mom no babysitting next weekend, and do the poison then," Marinette said, realizing that she hadn't said anything for a minute. "If I do it right away and the police end up wanting to see it again, then that'll be an issue. If I give it a little time, then I won't end up putting the poison on and then having to take it right off again. And I need to get some more supplies- a dedicated paintbrush, and some gloves so that my skin doesn't come in contact with it at all."
Tikki nodded, approving. "I didn't think of that! That's a good thought. I think that should be fast enough. And it'll give you time to think about ways you can shake up your set-up so that no one else will know about it again!"
"The biggest changes there might have to wait to summer, honestly," Marinette admitted. The amount of work it would take to make a hidden cubby- and to make it fast enough that no one would notice it- would be absolutely insane, her biggest project yet. "But I'm sure that I can make some changes to up my security before then, and dream up improvements that I can make so that I'm ready to hit the ground running as soon as I have enough free time."
Her mind was whirring with more ideas already, actually. She would have to ask the Order to enchant more metal so to be Miraculous-resistant, pieces that she could put inside of the storage bench and keep it from being destroyed. If Hawkmoth (or his akumas) couldn't pick locks, that should be enough to stop him. And then if she practiced with taking out and putting locks in, then she could put in a lock like one she had seen online most recently, the one that had a hidden keyhole. Both improvements wouldn't affect her ability to get in- which was a good thing, since speed was super important during akuma fights- but should make things for difficult for anyone with nefarious intentions.
It would be a lot of work, of course, and might mean skipping out on a few outings with her friends to get things done quickly just in case, but she could make the Miracle Box safe and secure again. It might even end up helping her in the long run, since now she knew where the weak points in her security were and could fix them before they were put to the test by an akuma or Hawkmoth. Sure, it wasn't ideal that people knew about the box at all, but- well, it wasn't worth crying over spilled milk.
Marinette would come back from this, and she would come back stronger.
