our timezones are NOT in alignment (booo timezones) so i ended up listening to ttpd first and THEN i read atkh!! the only thing ill say about ttpd is that but daddy i love him was a win in my books and watching the hateful swifties lose their minds over the fact that a lot of the album was ab matty was gold. ANYWAY

todays chapter omg the build up i’m so excited to see what’s next with george maybe (hopefully?) talking to matty and more tragic matty backstories!!?? i love how charli is like “u guys are so dense ofc yall would be perfect together” and omg carly being protective over matty is the best thing ever i just need to wrap him up in a blanket forever

Timezones really are the worst! Mixed with me not getting it together and posting the chapter during my lunch break like I said I wasn't going to do lol But alas I couldn't sleep last night and woke up late and was rushing to get to work a lot more than anticipated lol

I had a lot of very complicated feelings about the album - but you're right, I'm glad that But Daddy I Love Him was at least a middle finger to the "fans" who were so awful about Matty last year. In terms of the rest of the album, I hope he's actually doing alright like that US Weekly article said. That was like... the perfect PR move and I'm so glad that someone on his side got it together enough to make it happen.

Now on to ACTUAL important things (at least in my delusional world lol) Thank you SO MUCH for reading omg I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the new All the King's Horses chapter!! I love Fictional!Charli so much and was like I must find a way for her to be there again lol She just wants Fictional!George to be happy and she is fully convinced getting together with Fictional!Matty would make them BOTH very happy! Fictional!Carly is also very much looking out for Fictional!Matty- they grew up together, she knows what he went through with his mother when they were kids- and she knows a lot more about that situation with the jockey than she's sharing... Fictional!Matty keeps everyone at arms length, even her, and if fictional!George gets past those defenses she will NOT be letting him hurt Fictional!Matty.

mmm if i was doing a sequel to comphet koncass (one plus one, easy math) to highlight comphet kon, i would still want a fake dating side plot with cass...

ive been listening a lot to chappel roan lately, i know good luck babe is kind of the opposite of this, but it is still about the agonies of being in a relationship with someone who's closeted and afraid of being happy. so anyways. casskon fake dating round 2. cass knows good and well she's a lesbian but when kon says he feels safe with her and if she wouldn't mind being his date to some superhero thing, please? it doesnt have to mean anything. she's out to quite a few people but shrugs and agrees to do it as a favor even if it might confuse her friends and family.

i really do like the idea of cass knowing and understanding she's a lesbian, meanwhile kon still hasn't really moved past the idea of "well as long as my partner's happy with the relationship (and i'm safe because i have invested 0 real love or intimacy) it's fine." his exact dialogue was meant to be ambiguous, and more pan or bi-leaning, but truthfully even back then it was meant to show that he hadn't really examined what he wanted or who he was attracted to.

“What, who am I going to dance with?”  She nods.  Kon lets out a long breath, leaning backwards, elbows brushing the railing. He’s not sure himself. “I like dancing, just not the boring, stuffy kind,” he finally says. “As long as my partner’s having fun, I don’t really care how I do it, or who I’m dancing with.” 

basically he says this because he has never really been able to recognize attraction because he's been with a lot of people who groomed him. it didnt matter that there was no real attraction because he was playing a part and going along with whatever attention he was given. and now he has trouble recognizing a good idea when he sees it.

so fake dating casskon. as superheroes rather than civilians, because most of kon's deepest relationships arent as a civilian (especially with the universe reset......... though idk if im adding that to this fic, that's a LOT...)

and tim's at this party :) and cass finally sees kon looking at someone he wants but he doesnt really know how to recognize it in himself. so much like kon did for her, she kind of nudges him in the right direction. i just think it'd be neat :)
