i like that the faculty tie actually makes sense and they have solid motivations. it isnt just a plot device for a tie

okay hi. immediately stopping to go on a rant about the atmosphere in this caper. its. fucking. incredible. the scenery is so perfect. the right balance of beautiful and desolate, and it changes as the mood does. i could do this later but i will do it now because idk i want to its my post

notice as the episode goes on how as the tone gets darker in carmen's plotline, the scenery and mood around her gets colder and literally darker as well.

ivy's backgrounds, meanwhile, stay pretty light throughout because she has somewhat of a more comedic and hopeful storyline while carmen dies in a ditch somewhere.

also, as soon as carmen calls chief, the snow/light of the hologram/shot composition away from the dark trees shows that there is hope now

just....hope that is tinted with cop fingerprints all over it. i just GOD i fucking LOVE how you can VISUALLY SEE HOW HER LIFE IS GOING its reflected by the very environment around her. compare any shot after she gets acme in to the very last one i put in that set of five.

no moment is darker for carmen than when she gives up, on the brink of death, and calls for help, submitting herself to prison and interrogation in the hopes that even if vile wins today, she can somehow survive to take them down again another day.

man, i am barely a minute into the actual episode and i have a lot to say. that trend will continue. sorry not sorry. back to the actual liveblogging.

fun fact the first time i watched this episode i did not notice the acme agents on top of the building watching "carmen"

i love the little hints dropped to audience members who arent entirely in the know yet (7 year olds) that its ivy, not carmen, and that something is up here. lack of gigantic poofy brown hair, different stature, ivys little smile as she goes past. of course, if you're obsessive like me, youve memorized every characters outline and can tell even with wigs on

OH hey my favorite acme agent hang on

its her. she is drop dead gorgeous and has a nose piercing. she also i think gets all of one line in the s4 opener telling crackle to do whatever (or maybe its her partner but anyway i love her)

"had to loan my coat once I spotted your reinforcements!" its just a bit of information but its some that she trusts julia with. she asks julia if chief is listening but if she was. carmen would have already blown ivy's cover. i know she stole the pen for good measure but seriously she TRUSTS her

i love how julia pats her jacket and then does not react in the slightest she was just making sure that was HER pen not someone else's

ivy being horrible in snow gag is the best part of this episode

i love julia showing off. she doesnt get to infodump to anyone else but she knows carmen will appreciate it. and shes trying to be coy about knowing what carmen is there to do (sorry jules. you would have been right any other time)

i also like that as julia is infodumping shes absorbing MORE by walking backwards and gazing around the city hall

fun fact: i always wondered how the hell the acme agents got into/hid in the hall without anyone seeing them but there are doors in between all of those pillars!

i love how super serious carmen gets here. this episode is so much more mature in its theming than some other episodes. from the launch codes to the fakeout suicide to the continued death before capture thing carmen has going on. man. i cant tell if ivys comic relief section is good for lightheartedness or tonal whiplash lmao

she has for a split second the look of a mother who just heard her child say "i frew up"

ARGH and i also love how literally nothing julia can say in that time will help. she tries- oh, she tries- but "its not what you think" mistakenly sounds like she was still in on it. it looks, for the moment, like julia was trying to distract her or this acme agent missed her cue or something. of course later in the ep carmen has plennnty of time

interestingly cs does away with the doors in between the pillars for a more ethereal and sophisticated look but there are doors in my heart

i love how carmen turns to run sideways. girl even if there weren't acme agents there where were you going

i also just fucking love carmen's completely silent analysis once shit gets really serious. she calculates and recalculates what she needs to do to survive here. and she's RUTHLESS about it. i think this is kind of the one time we really see her vile training come out in comparison to someone other than vile itself. she takes those acme agents OUT

part of me wonders if carmen, in that little pause by the door, thought that maybe her chances were better backtracking but she didn't want to have to hurt jules to get out. maybe im just gay and wistful idk BUT okay here's my reasoning!! hang on! stay with me!! carmen equals BAD in tight spaces. saw it in rio, saw it in nz, saw it in poitiers. its everywhere- she does better with more space. however, she does like her high grounds, so honestly this is pure headcanon but like,,, not wanting to hurt julia. send post

also you can see in the background julia TAKING OFF after the other agents....no gun drawn of course

this fight scene with carmen is so fucking fantastic

she never. NEVER. EVER does full fight scenes where she does a lot of offensive but this situation is so different. she SPRINTS at that bitch she holds him HOSTAGE and while of course she's acting so that she doesn't get caught the fight almost portrays her a little villainously with the trail of bodies she leaves behind her as she goes

ALSO THAT FLIP OFF THE WALL MOVE IS SO DAMN COOL. she tricks the acme agent into gassing herself almost effortlessly and only takes a split second to coldly look behind her to make sure there's no one else coming before she takes off again

and then the other three who didnt get knocked out start going after her again which distracts her just enough to let zari catch her with the shot

the shaky "camera" and blurred vision pov as carmen fades in and out of consciousness while instinct alone keeps her going up the stairs is just ARGH chefs kiss

fun fact zari's "there after her" line gets reused in the series finale

i really enjoy that they show us this desolate, still shot of carmen, completely motionless, trapped in a ravine, miles and miles away from the city. she doesnt wake up. its just the cold, harsh reality. and its starting to snow a lot harder.

you know how people want that throwback spinoff series for the owl house with the lost moments. that but cs. shadowsan's malaysia mission, how the team operated and the jobs while carmen was recovering, more of black sheep's time at vile/her holdover year, her and player learning together once she tours around after escaping, the shanghai job (not the tsonts one), the cairo job, the swiss bank job. how julia got into law, how chase chose his name, more on carlotta and dexter, the two years after vile's defeat and before their reappearance, more of evil carmen, player's backstory as told in silver lion. there is. so much i want to see. tangent tally.

god. player's decision here is such a hard one. he's like sixteen, and he's potentially juggling the lives of two of his best friends with that line. the decision seems obvious, but in this case it is completely, entirely wrong. player's choice to save ivy instead of carmen damn near kills her, and there's no way he could have known. player guilt angst, please!

once again the music. thank you.

carmen's cry of pure pain as she moves juuust tickles something in my brain. she has no one to put on a brave face for and that crash landing HURT.

i love this episode for its look into carmen's psyche. so much of her is playing off of others, but in this one she is utterly alone. we see her thought processes in the worst of times with no one to fight but the weather and herself. fantastic shit. never forgiving sarcastic chorus for skimming over this episode and saying nothing happens did you watch it

carmen's tone when she goes "oookay." just is so good. gina did not skimp out on this performance and part of me wonders if she could have done better if she wasnt always trying to play the emotionless, suave hero figure and she let carmen be more human, like in this episode. carmen is seeing that she is injured, acme is trying to reach her, her glider is broken, she has no protection from the cold, and that player and any other help is completely out of range and she is not happy about it

carmen crying out when she slips even more when she's trying to climb its so tangible and delicious

FUN ANECODTE because i havent gone on enough tangents for this post already but the first time i ever saw this episode my dad came to pick me up for his half of the week right here. i had to leave the episode right here, with ivy kidnapped and mia and carmen alone in the frozen ravine, the acme pen blinking. i didnt have access to netflix to finish the episode. for. four. days. let me tell you. um. this episode literally did not let me sleep. that first night i was lying in bed i stayed up until like 3am just staring at the ceiling replaying the scenes and making theories. i was dry in the mouth. when i fell asleep i dreamed about it and kept waking up in the middle of the night. i cornered my dad and recounted the entire episode to him and then reeled off my theories to him. i reeled off my theories to my friends. i was literally consumed by the ending of this episode that i could not see. it was Not Healthy and it impacted me VERY HEAVILY as you can see.

but anyway my one theory was that carmen was going to be forced to call acme for help and be arrested because they kept doing closeups on the pen. good job, thirteen year old me. the foreshadowing worked.

i also like that carmen has to heave herself up from sitting, and that she's only standing as a last display of control when every other ounce of it has been ripped from her. she has to lean on the tree, still, even to manage it. as soon as she pushes off of that tree and starts walking towards chief she collapses.

i do appreciate that chief doesnt play dumb or think carmen is dumb. she's been calling that pen for as long as carmens been staring at it. she knows carmen knows what calling her means and doesnt try to hide that theyre coming for her.

MAN AND THEN EVERYTHING GETS SOO BAD. you realize just how serious this is when carmen drops the tough act and just reaches out. she does a quip, but her face is just hopeless and she drops like a STONE. she was barely hanging on. already dumped this onto rueitae's post but i think that as soon as she knew she'd done everything she could do and had exhausted every single option except dying on the spot. well. she didnt have a reason to hang on anymore. she gave up every single ounce of control to chief when she clicked that pen and her body needed to shut down to save her. so so so good

i really really like chief running over and hesitating before she puts her "hand" on carmens shoulder. she knows she cant do anything, but she can pretend and she can hope

i really do think she was concerned about carmen here, not just about the intel she was potentially losing. this scene mirrors her past with wolfe nearly perfectly, and it NEVER gets talked about. once again a call chief made on a person who turned out to have innocent intentions (gun was really car keys, julia going off the grid was really just her and carmen talking it out) gets them killed- or, in carmen's case, almost. chief, this time, has the power to save her and fix this mistake. parallels are also fun because obviously carmen is wolfe's daughter so double angst.

AGAIN this episode punches you like an elephant on steroids with that quiet "is she going to make it?" CARMEN IS ON THE BRINK. OF DEATH. AND HER FRIENDS ARENT EVEN CERTAIN SHES GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT. MAN. it raises the stakes up so high like obviously she wont die but in a tvy7 kids cartoon this is so fucking serious

spoilers ahead for outer banks season 3!!

lets talk season 3! so i personally really like the season! (besides big john, but we will get to that later) i loved the vibes it gave off! and we got jiara AND cleope!!! so lets start with what i loved, i really like the barbados scenes, which are like the first 2 episodes. i loved the rafe and kie scenes (im NOT a riara shipper but you do you boo) im really glad they stuck to them hating each other. also im glad that kie actually looked scared and acted scared bc she is kidnapped by a man who is threatening killing her if she doesn’t give him a diary???!!!? + she also kidnapped with her like sworn enemy who is also a killer and isnt aware of his next move. i also loved the island scenes and wish we got more :(. i loved episode 5! the train sequence was really interesting and i was laughing so hard when cleope tried to convince the police guy (so good at explaining ik ik) they were in love (but we all know they already were) and the motorcycle scenes were my favorite! the scene after jj crashed his motorcycle was also a great one! + im so glad sarah got a hug with jj rooting for cambank sibling. the “dont ever do that again” 😩✋✋😭 . i loved episode 7 too! the topper and kie interactions 💀 also the fight with jiara was AMAZING!!!! kie looked so defeated when he said it wasn’t gonna work 😭. i loved the music after the fight too (kinda random lol). for the things i wished were different…to start, big john. tbh i liked im better dead. he had WAY TO MUCH screen time! i just wanted clarification that he showered at some point this season his beard was giving me ickk. another thing, i wanted more angsty, emotional scenes. these kids have been through SO MUCH!! they showed a little bit of jj’s mental health but it was like 1/4. im glad they showed more of sarah’s as well! but i really wanted to see more of kiaras emotional side (i am kinda biased) but like she has almost drowned in the MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN holding her best friends dead weight in her arms for a LONG TIME after he got hit on the head most likely suffering from a concussion, she has almost drowned in a sewer, she has betrayed her parents trust but then again its as much their fault that it is hers, she lost 2 of her best friends only to find out they were alive again like a few months later, she has been shot at multiple times, she was kinda guilt tripped into a relationship with pope (no offense to pope, again it was both their faults), she has been abducted twice first by saving someones life then being strangled to go to this killers house, second by being strangled the same way with her parents sitting there watching her to be sent to this wilderness camp that was gonna put her on medication, also rafe said that he was gonna find her and get revenge on her-, she was rejected by the person she lovesss 😍😍 and kept on trying (but thats gotta hurt), she also was called a kook by her best friend, she knew he didn’t mean it but, she has always had trouble fitting in and wanted to be a pogue and rafe also called her “at least half kook” so thats also gotta hurt, and like so much more so I WANTED A BREAKDOWN SCENE >:( (preferably with jj comforting her ) reverse hot-tub scene anyone?? but i also wanted more scenes with all the pogues. this season felt like a constant high and i think there needed to be a break where everyone can just BE HAPPY!!! also like the 4 original pogues scenes pleasee :)! i HATED the stopper cheating scenes (their ship names stopper for a reason-) i just want jarah b to be happy and together for at least one season-, thats all i’m asking. i think overall we needed more pogues being there for each other and comforting each others. also i didn’t like the time jump-, although i’m glad the pogues got a win, i don’t want them to be separated next season. i have run out of space now and have been writing this for 45 minutes but what are your thoughts? id love to know! :)

Prologue: The Battle of Mordor

Unlike some other shows I won’t name, The Untamed kills its suicidal queer protagonist immediately, rather than waiting four seasons, so we know what we're in for.

To be fair there are hardly any suicides in The Untamed. No more than ...five? As long as you don’t count the entire population of the Wen Corporate Headquarters in Yiling or those wall bandits in Qinghe or Madame Yu or all those Wens who supposedly threw themselves into the mud puddle or that Mo guy who broke his own neck. Plus watching Wei Wuxian’s cliff drop several more times from multiple angles. So, you know. Hardly Any Suicides.

Drunk flag guy out here talking about spirits. Wikipedia tells me that In one school of Daoist thought, a human being has a collection of physical souls (魄 pò) and ethereal souls (魂 hún). Drunk flag guy is saying “hún ” at the moment. 

The many types of souls don’t translate well into English, where spiritual vocabulary has always been shackled connected to Christian beliefs, and is too limited for this context. Having one single lure flag stuck in Wen Ning’s torso caused spirits to basically eat him alive, so to catch one evil spirit, 6 disciples holding flags on the roof plus 8 more flags on the ground seems like a good amount. Wei Wuxian is like “yep, a single one of these will lure every spirit for five miles, carry on, younglings.”

Baxia Does the Heavy Lifting

Wei Wuxian is supposed to kill four people because of this curse situation, and in the course of the series they all die, and he kills exactly zero of them. The curse on Wei Wuxian’s arm should be called the scorekeeper curse. 

Baxia’s spirit pinballs around the Mo clan, rapidly killing three people on Mo Xuanyu’s list plus a couple extras for good measure.  Who's a good blade? Baxia is! Yess you are! Yes you are!

This here is the exact point in the show where your friend, who has listened to you squee about The Untamed for three months and finally agreed to watch it with you, will say “what the fuck am I watching?” and try to get up off the couch. Tackle them! 

This also the point where we all realize that the prosthetic and practical effects in this show were probably not made by the people who made the clothing, because the quality is...variable. The white eyeballs are pretty good, but the glove of death is ridiculous.

Lan Wangji shows up and very slowly kicks zombie ass with his guqin. If you are used to Hong Kong action speeds, you will find The Untamed very peaceful.

 All of the baby Lans fan squee up at Lan Wangji like he's the cultivation world's David Bowie and...they're not wrong. Jesus Fuck, he’s charismatic.

Lan Wangji is soft boi when he discovers this murderous sword full of dead-bastard energy, because it reminds him of his true love.

Like the talk about souls, the conversations about the nature of the murderous entity really don’t survive translation into English.

Wei Wuxian is soft boi when he sees Lan Wangji, but not so soft that he considers actually, like, sticking around. 

Wei Wuxian is also clueless boi, noting Lan Wangji’s white clothing and thinking, as in the past, that he looks like he’s dressed in mourning. The term he uses is 戴孝, which google tells me means the type of outfit worn by Jiang Yanli after Wen Ning rips her husband’s heart out someone who is in mourning. 

Actually, Wei Wuxian, you dumbass, he is in actual mourning, actually, for you. Dumbass. He probably packed away all of his blue outer robes 16 years ago and only takes them out occasionally to reminisce about that nice date you had on your mountain of corpses. 

On his way out the door Wei Wuxian manages to find a red ribbon for his beautiful hair, so things are looking up. 

Where to go next...hey I know, how about that one haunted mountain with the killer statue, you know, the one that all my executed friends and child came from? That’ll be fun and a great way to put the past behind me!

ooooook i just watched ditf. it was PRETTY GOOD.... i only wish there was MOOORE! watching this REALLY brought me back to 2011 times to see it and i think they did a good job with most of the character design and animations insofar as matching it to the original. (maybe i’m totally wrong but i thought it looked good for the most part... also i just really love these character designs in particular). obviously the budget is not what it would be on a feature, so there are a LOT of places where animation gets recycled and many still frames. some parts are basically a slideshow lol. but i only sort of came to that realization awhile after watching, so i think they did a fairly good job of masking this... ymmv

so let’s get into it!!! 

SPOILERS a-head! do not read until you’ve watched it because i’ll spoil everything

now obviously the thing to be aware of if you are not is the fact that this adaptation is not a panel-by-panel adaptation of the original death in the family comic. all references to jason’s mother (save one mention of her dying of illness) are completely removed, they go to bosnia instead of africa, and the circumstances around jason leaving are also heavily altered to fit the new narrative. this adaptation does slot perfectly into the universe established by the under the red hood animated movie from 2011 though, without which one would be pretty confused when watching this. it’s kind of a mystery as to why they didn’t just package this with utrh and release the entire thing as a collectors edition. instead they package it with like 4 or 5 unrelated dc showcase shorts which makes absolutely 0 sense but go off i guess. anyway

i liked that they took the time to adapt the scene from the original ditf where bruce is talking to alfred about jason! (i do not like that alfred didn’t get any lines. bad choice). tbh i can’t understand why they bothered showing us alfred, barbara and dick if they weren’t gonna give them any lines..... like come on........??

HOW INTENSE BRUCE LOOKS WHEN HE FINDS JASON IN SARAJEVO and just. grabs him lol. hes smad :)

ok so one two skip a few and we get to the first branch. instead of calling 1-900 we now get to choose whether jason lives or dies. there are 7 possible endings i think i got em all so let’s see what we got here.

“Hush” Route - Robin cheats death

hgrgdggr. i definitely think this is one of the more interesting endings, if not the most interesting one. this is also the only ending in which both bruce and jason survive the bombing. bruce is still too late, but this time jason barely clings to life and survives. as a hurt/comfort fan i was 100% on this shit from the word go but then jason? runs away from home lmao lmao i thought that was SO funny because 1) hes super messed up, how is he able to just literally run out the house that is SO funny to me and 2) implying that bruce would ever not be keeping an eye on him after that is just, lmao. it’s so zany. i call this the “hush” route because of the bandages but there are no other references to hush so ok. that’s fair. so anyway jason is now angsty for loosely explained reasons but the most fun part is yet to come.

when talia showed up, i really thought / was terrified for a second that they were gonna bring up certain “events” regarding damian’s parentage / who damian’s father is but then she mentioned bruce and i was like OH THANK GOD WE CAN STILL GO TO HEAVEN. i am so so grateful to the writers for NOT going there. cuz it was damn close ok. im not sure what the implication of this route is in terms of talia, jason and damian being a family unit but i want to believe talia sees jason as a son and damian’s brother (which is how she refers to him, damian’s brother) and not... yknow. i mean. jason raising a baby is kind of like a baby raising a baby...

no actually the reality of this scene is really dfuckin interesting like. they actually go with the “birth of the demon” (forget if it was birth of the demon or bride of the demon. one of those.) explanation for damian and that is something i’ve NEVER seen adapted so whoever wrote this can have a cookie and i kNOW this is something a certain someone will appreciate :)

not only that but the implications? are interesting? so talia’s claim is she miscarried so bruce won’t have to “choose” between damian and jason and idk if she’s supposed to be all on the-up-and-up in this universe but. i’m sitting here like GIRL YOU DON’T GOTTA DO THIS HE HAS A PRIVATE JET HAVEN’T YOU HEARD OF SHARED CUSTODY and BETTER YET HE HAS A MANSION JUST GO ON MAURY AND GET THIS SORTED OUT RIGHT NOWwwww

please lord imagine all of jason’s angst probably just originating from the fact that he has a brain injury that hasn’t fully healed and the trauma of going through all those surgeries probably gave him a lot of fear / paranoia about bruce and associating him with the joker because his neural pathways are all messed up but after he leaves he starts slowly healing back and regaining some of his lost sanity and thats when he realizes he misses bruce so much... but hes also raising his child... and every day it gets more difficult for him not to just take damian and bring him home and i ;v;

anyway i thought this route, while it had a few inconsistencies in it, was really freaking interesting and it gave me feels and plot bunnies and is probably the one i want to write about the MOST despite the fact that baby damian looks like a character from one of those web flash games in this lol

“True” End - Jason Dies

now if you select that jason dies the route basically defaults to the canon of under the red hood and the fact that utrh does not come packaged with this movie is a rather mystifying choice to me as i don’t think this adaptation would stand on its own very well. like you need quite a bit of background to really get anything out of watching this on its own, which is probably why it’s classified as a “short” and not as its own movie.

instead of showing all of utrh, it seems they took the opportunity to give a ~30 minute recap of utrh with basically entirely reused animation but they allow bruce to sort of. give his dvd commentary over it.

the biggest feeling i have on this is that it’s sad that they had to waste 30 minutes like this that could’ve been used to do something new and much more interesting, but honestly i’m not mad. it seems kind of obvious that this choice was probably made for budget and/or runtime reasons because a short does not get the same budget set aside as a full length feature film does. so they basically took the option of recycling 30 minutes of animation from the movie and dubbing new audio over it.

in evangelion they ran out of budget and that’s why the last two episodes consist of nothing more than still pencil drawings and frames while the characters engage in philosophical debates concerning the nature of reality and human connection. and i really enjoyed that. and for the same reasons, i also really enjoyed this.

i enjoyed seeing the clark kent of this universe. i enjoyed that he was basically out on a date with bruce. i enjoyed that bruce was willing to open up for once and tell clark all of what happened with jason. but what really makes this segment shine bright are bruce greenwood’s line reads. there are SO MANY good line reads in here. and i LOVED how many times he said the word “son”. very wholesome. the way he describes how he felt during the final fight with jason? probs my favorite FUCKING part.

and then him and clark joking together about contingency plans and then they’re going to work together to find jason and i ;_; this is probably the closest thing to a “good” ending but as a continuation of utrh i thought it worked really well. i really want to believe that bruce and clark did find jason in this route and that there was some closure in the end even though we didn’t get to see it.

including clark in this was DEFINITELY the right move as well, considering that he played a rather large role in the original ditf so it’s a welcome nod.

The rest of the branches exist under a separate option where Bruce makes it in time to save Jason from the warehouse... but Bruce dies......... :O

let me tell you bout it... bruce’s fucking DEATH SCENE i don’t know WHAT my man bruce greenwood is on, but the freaking LINE READS in this dialogue had me making INHUMAN NOISES. LIKE NOT ONLY WAS THE DIALOGUE GOOD, NOT ONLY DID HE SAY “I LOVE YOU, SON”, but this man is just an amazing actor. not just voice actor, but actor. he really really really really gave it the most i don’t know how else to say it....... it was very very well done and punched me sideways in the heart and i haven’t recovered and i’m not going to recover. and

ok so once we get past that.... scene.... u have to choose whether you’re going to catch the joker or kill the joker. bruce asks jason to promise not to kill the joker but technically jason doesn’t promise so........

Let’s start by choosing to kill the Joker. Jason attends Bruce’s funeral and various members of the Justice League show up to talk with him and just generally hang out. He has Alfred, Dick and Barbara as his support system, but Jason has some other plans.

This leads to a scene in a cafe where Jason meets with a man who... something something Killing Joke, flashlight, more Barbara being used as a plot device when she deserves better, Jason kills the Joker with a butter knife.

Once you do this you can choose to surrender to the police, or retaliate and escape.

Jailbird Ending

basically if you surrender to the police jason ends up in prison where he can actually attack even more criminals so.... ya

If you retaliate and escape instead you go to the Red Robin route where Jason becomes a vigilante who kills people much like the Red Hood and you get a further choice in a fight with Two Face where you can control how Harvey’s coin lands. 

Tim Ending!

If you choose the coin to land clean face up, the thing rewards you by having Tim show up and I forgot what happened (wasn’t really paying attention lol) because i was so focused on TIM!

Prolly they felt sorry for him what with Jason stealing what is essentially his outfit (ok I know it was Jason’s first, but Tim made it cool) so they let a little baby tim have an appearance :) he’s very smol

I guess in this ending Jason gets reintegrated with the family somehow and Tim becomes “Bat-kid” which is hilarious to me but you know what it’s cute. CUTE.

The one ending where the coin lands scarred side up

i honestly forget what happens if you choose to have the coin land scarred side up but let me just say this is a FUCKED route to take, not only have you had jason survive and bruce die, you’ve now chosen to kill the joker against bruce’s dying wish, you’ve chosen to attack the police, and at the end of that you really are gonna choose harvey’s coin to be scarred face up???? choosing this made me feel like a DICK because here i am supporting jason’s whole fall to madness and villainy thing the way it wants me to and now he’s gonna die HERE? i hate it here.

interestingly enough he doesn’t actually die in this route. he ends up at home with barbara and dick while dealing with the fact that he killed the joker but the route ends with jason saying “i promise” so i guess this is supposed to be kinda sad. im so confused lol ok

So that is all the options if you choose to kill the joker, I believe. You can also make the choice to just catch him instead of killing him but amazingly enough, those routes are even more FUCKED up. 

If you do this option Jason goes home, mourns Bruce with Dick, Barbara and Alfred, and becomes Red Hood BUT with a twist, he’s entirely on a bloodless operation in line with Bruce’s wishes. OR.... IS HE?

Things then follow the events of UTRH until the scene on the bridge with the van and the guys. Jason finally confronts Joker, who reveals the truth. 

Apparently in this route Jason has actually been killing and decapitating his victims just like in the original movie, but he’s repressed it so as to not even realize to himself that he’s doing it.

that is FUCKED. also. i wanna cry because jason doing all of that stuff but not even realizing it ;------; jason blocking it out, because he wanted to honor bruce’s wishes for him not to kill anyone ;______; but he’s doing it anyway ;_____; he’s actually hearing voices telling him to kill ;____; like it’s a very cheap twist in a sense and also really quite cruel but.... damn, son.

There is a branch here where you can choose to spare or kill the Joker at this point (UNDERTALE???) but from what I can tell it seems to be totally meaningless what choice you pick because you end up at the exact same point either way, I think there’s a small variation in what happens after you make the choice but after that they just coalesce back together into the following two endings. Which seems incredibly cheap to me, I mean making a choice like that should alter Jason’s path completely but, it doesn’t! So... ooook....

Either way Jason ends up on the Wayne building and Talia shows up with a re-animated Bruce from the pit. Here’s another fun blast from the 2011 past with more gratuitous Grant Morrison dreck, remember that shit? Well, they’re gonna jam it down your throat here, too.

The reanimated Bruce is the Zur En Arrh Bruce and he’s already dead so this is all meaningless but basically Jason fights him and you get to choose whether everybody lives or dies.

if you pick this, jason actually gets the re-animated bruce back to the batcave and they lock him up down there because he’s still pit-mad and the prognosis is not great. but i’m not sure what they expected, he is the zur-en-arrh guy so I don’t think he’s getting better.

pretty much there’s an explosion and all three of them die and that’s it

I think that should be all the possible endings there are.

By the way the different ways in which black mask dies in this was actually a fairly clever running gag lollll. let that mf burn we don’t need no water.

overall there are a couple of things i would have done to SIGNIFICANTLY improve this adaptation beyond some of the obvious ones.

- the fact that all of the branching options are branched exclusively under the “jason lives and bruce dies” branch is a huge wasted opportunity. imo this is the most egregious problem with this, i was really looking for a more balanced tree / explanation of different things. i am probably super biased though being a fic writer and used to fic, we’re the ones making huge ass trees every day lol.

- the fact that there is no “good” ending here is something i kind of expected but given the context of this is lackluster. i sort of get it though because granted, the original ditf ends in an unresolved manner but it’s distinctly unsatisfying here. i secretly wanted an ending where bruce, like, figures out about the different endings and hacks reality to try to find a good ending where jason lives and everything is fine lmao. like a bat mite ending.

- i was disappointed in a sense that the narrative given in here is so basically simplistic? maybe i’ve been spoiled by games like 999 and undertale where shit gets messy and that’s not what this is supposed to be but when i play something with multiple endings in this day and age, at least play with the concept a little bit and connect some of the branches together narratively. use different devices. i was also hoping some of the choices would be a little bit meatier like you could choose to “forgive bruce” or something cool like that lol. but it looks like the majority of choices have to do with who lives or dies. and i felt like they couldve been a bit more creative with that ya know? being able to control harvey’s coin was a GREAT example of having some more fun with this.

- it is a huge missed opportunity not to have a “secret ending” on something like this. like where. the fuck. is my secret ending for completing everything. come on. and in a similar vein there should’ve been at least something in terms of bruce and jason interacting in a “true ending”. even if very brief. the closest thing to an ending this has is the “jason died” route and then the ending where he’s talking to clark which i feel like was a REALLY nice good optimistic ending as far as this goes, but it comes off as kind of disappointing i guess

there were SO many interesting nuggets locked into this thing though. i can’t deny it bugs me how many wasted opportunities there were with how they chose to structure things but i guess it’s the best you can do with limited runtime. i thought it was really well done though, makes an interesting companion piece to the original utrh, and is definitely something that i will be re-watching again soon!! overall i give it a 7/10 and some parts an 8/10+!

7. At which season should SPN have ended (or, was S15 the right call)? Honestly, without changing anything about the show on the whole, there's no way for the show to reach a convincing thematic conclusion ending anywhere other than Season 15. Then again, S15's conclusion didn't exactly offer us that either? So I guess my copout answer would be S15E19. It still wouldn't be perfect (Cas is the Heart of the show imho, and any ending sans-Castiel is gonna leave me wanting) buuuuuuuut I liked "Inherit the Earth" just fine. It was a decent episode, barring the absence of Cas and of course the wacky theological problems the episode's....whole deal....poses. But "Carry On" (despite having a perfect title) was entirely uncalled for, and while the acting is spot-on and there are a couple of compelling moments, I think its tonal dissonance, narrative flaws, and thematic anti-climax are enough for me to write it off altogether as the show's "rightful" ending. All that said, my second choice would be Season 8. The season had its ups and down, when viewed as a whole, but "Sacrifice" is one of my all-time favorite episodes, and it has the combination of darkness and redemptive heroism holding it at bay that makes Supernatural the show I love so much. To my view, Supernatural's greatest strength has always been its thematic resonance and emotional through-lines, and a culmination of the show with both Heaven and Hell forever sealed off feels so, so true to the show's themes that it would be hard for me to give any other answer.

11. If you had to remove one member of Team Free Will, who would it be? Is "Jack" a cop-out? Yeah, yeah, I know. Okay so my real answer is (regrettably) Cas. I said earlier that he's the Heart of Supernatural, and I maintain that that's true - this is such a hard question because literally regardless of the answer, the show's going to wind up hamstrung even if one member of the trio is missing. But if Cas is the Heart of Supernatural, Sam and Dean are the body - it's a poor show without Castiel, but it's no show at all without both of the Winchester boys.

12. Symbolism!!!!!!! Hells yeah, symbolism. Alright so. So. Corruption and redemption as symbolised by blood. This is a symbol that is PERVASIVE. I mean it's like.....everywhere. EVERYWHERE. in this show, it's kind of wild if you pause to think about it for a few minutes like I just did. Even as I'm typing this I'm thinking, "gosh, that's a really broad recurring symbol. there's no way you're going to be able to talk about this with anywhere near the depth it merits." (and that's true). I'm unmedicated and a bit sleepy so unfortunately I will not be writing a complete dissertation on the Corrupting and Redeeming Power of Blood in the Eric Kripke's "Supernatural". HOWEVER. Demon blood as a substance that is both addictive and empowering (but also apparently Inherently Corrupt (at least in the show's symbolic language)). Angels "bleeding" grace when severely wounded (that is to say, *closer to Mortality*). Dead Man's Blood being the means by which Vampires can be stopped or even cured of their vampirism. The number of Rituals and Spells (both Divine and Demonic) that require (usually human) blood to instantiate their power. My brain is starting to fry already. Oh wait also "family don't end at blood"?? The show is so totally trying to say something here but I can't quite put a finger on WHAT that is. Anyways. The extensive analysis is Forthcoming but for now im going to. To just try an calm dowwn a bit.

30. Make up a fact about a character and convince me that it's true. Uhhhhh okay so I’ve spent a while on this one and have come to the conclusion that. Let them interact in season 3!!!

THESE TWO WHERE DO I EVEN START. I literally tear up when I think about them? Platonic or not, their love is so pure, innocent, real, it makes my heart do backflips. You have no idea how many times I cried watching them. When they’re together you can’t tell where one begins and the other finishes .... but the reason why I’m so attached to them is because I happen to have a person in my life that... she’s the Sylvia to my Wander (hey @awesome---disaster talkin to you).  I understand how it feels to have someone this important in your life. The episode “The Ryder” is particularly hard to wacth (despite it being my number one favorite) for this reason. GOD THE TEARS I CRIED.

Hello, Im so glad that you are back, I love your headcanons ! I was thinking what would happen if Candy gets unexpectedly pregnant near the end of UL when Castiel has a lot of commitments because of his career and the tour, if you like the idea and have any thoughts for that!

Ohhhhh my godddd not to be dramatic but like… this is probably the WORST thing that can happen right now lmao

As I stated in my last headcanons about “Candy having a 2 year old daughter”, the LAST thing Castiel would want or need is a freaking child. He’s got way too much going on and way too big of an opportunity to pass up for a baby. That probably sounds harsh but let’s be real here, do any of us REALLY think that Castiel would be happy about this, at this point in time? If he wasn’t about to go on tour then okay sure we’ll figure it out but now? Yikes.

His reaction to you telling him is not going to be good so don’t expect any “it’s going to be okay,” type of comfort. He’s going to be pissed. Mostly pissed at himself because at some point he MUST have slipped up. Expect him to walk away and not talk to you for a while. “I just, I need to be alone.” Yes this is an asshole move on his part but can you blame him? He won’t answer any of your texts or calls for a few days. He seemed very adamant about using protection during your one night stand, but not every method of protection is 100%, and you’re only human. Mistakes were bound to happen when it came to sex.

He tries to remember when it could have happened. He can’t pinpoint it but he was so SURE that you two were being careful. For a split second, he wants to question if it’s even his or not, because again, how? But he knows that you’d never do that to him, and he might feel just a bit guilty. At this point though he’s willing to grasp onto any possibility that maybe it was a false positive. After his days of brooding, he’ll call you finally. He’s not sure where to start, but he does want to go to the doctor to make sure it’s true. After your appointment does indeed confirm everything, he just sighs and runs an exasperated hand through his hair. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck…”

Discussing your options is definitely going to happen. He will make it very clear to you that he does not want the baby, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be a complete jerk about it either. He’s a man and he takes responsibility for his actions. He knows that he made this baby with you, so basically whatever decision you make he’s just going to suck it up and deal with it.

Now assuming you want to keep it in this case, he’s not happy about it at all. This might even put a strain on your relationship because he’s just in a bad mood all the time now. He isn’t trying to take it out on you, because again it’s not just your fault. He just doesn’t know how to handle the situation at all. How is he going to tell his band mates? What about the tour? Will he even be able to do that still? Would it be selfish? So many questions. Deep deep down though, he really just wants to do what’s best for you as well. He loves you and he would never just abandon you, but he also wants to follow his dream. Can he do that with you and a baby? I mean the plan was to break up before he left right? And now he feels like crap because what are his band mates going to say if he tells them that they aren’t going to be able to tour anymore because of him? After all of their hard work too, dammit! So this will probably cause them to fall out for a bit. I’m not sure if Castiel is close with his band mates to the point where he’d consider them close friends but I’d still like to think that eventually they’d patch things up? Just not know though, not at all.

Despite him being unhappy about it, he makes an effort. He makes it to every single appointment, he’ll help you when you’re not feeling well, and he TRIES to not be so negative around you because he knows you’re probably just as stressed as he is.

Oh god imagine having to deliver the news to the public though? Rumors have already started going around that the tour has been cancelled, but why? His band mates respect him enough to not give anyone an answer and he appreciates that a lot. But of course, speculation rises. You’re seen in public with him often, going in an out of doctors offices, the baggier than usual clothes you wear, the little bit of weight you seemed to have gained. That belly isn’t going to stop growing so people are going to find out sooner or later, let's be real. So when he does finally decide to announce it, everyone is shook.

He’s still a little bitter about the whole tour bit. He doesn’t resent you or the baby he’s just having a hard time coping with it. He thought about maybe just bringing you and the baby with him, but how would that work? Living mostly on a crowded tour bus, with multiple people AND a baby? Yeah no.

After awhile though, like some months into the pregnancy, he kind of starts to come around a bit more. Maybe when you’re almost due, like 7 or 8 months. He realizes, ‘oh shit I’m going to have a baby soon.’ His attitude towards the pregnancy shifts, a complete 180. It’s slow and subtle at first, but you begin to notice the slight smile he has during your ultrasounds, the way his face lights up when he hears the heartbeat for the hundredth time. And while you guys definitely should have done this already, things were just too stressful and busy to really talk about preparing the nursery for the baby. I’d imagine you’d be in Castiel's apartment for a little while, considering you’re in a dorm. All of the baby’s things have just been piling up in a corner, but then he gets this sudden motivation to just organize everything. You’re gone with Rosa somewhere for a while and by the time you come back literally everything is set up. The bottles are neatly put away, the changing table is set up in the bathroom with the diapers, wipes, powder and rash cream under it. It looks like Castiel's place is a studio apartment, so while the baby doesn’t have its own room, he still makes space for it in his. He clears out an entire corner and then some, and the bassinet is perfectly placed with the canopy draped over it. When you come home, he starts going on and on about everything. “I know I haven’t been the best boyfriend since we found out about the baby, but… I’m going to be there for you and for them because it’s my responsibility and I love you. And even though I haven’t met them yet, I love them too.” When the baby is finally born it’s really such a great time! It’s hard occasionally with your busy schedules, and finding time for each other is difficult. But at the end of the day, his favorite part is coming home to his little family, where he can just breathe and be himself. And he’s so good with them too, it’s crazy! It’s like he can read his baby’s mind sometimes. There will be some flops for sure, like backwards diapers or bottles that aren’t warm enough. But he gets the hang of it eventually. Oh man and when the baby gets a little bigger he’ll buy them a toy guitar it’s so cute. They’re both in the living room with their guitars. The baby is just pressing random buttons trying to imitate their daddy. Castiel applauds them as if they’re actually playing a good song lmao. He’s so proud of his mini me. I like to think he and his band mates would patch things up after a while, so sometimes during studio sessions he’ll bring the baby with him and they absolutely adore your kid! Everyone always wants to hold them, and they’re always buying new toys or bribing them with baby snacks. Ugh so adorable.

Oh yeah did you think he gave up on his dream? Hell no. Give it a couple of years, when the baby is a little older. It’ll be way easier to travel this way, and you guys have your own separate tour bus so that way you aren’t a burden to the others. Eventually you guys will settle down into a house and all, but the road trips and sightseeing with your baby is so much fun! When he’s not performing or rehearsing he spends as much time as possible with you two. And he’s very private about his child so I highly doubt they’d be in the spotlight that much, if at all. There’s like maybe 3 pictures of the baby’s face on the internet, but they’re all on your private page lmao no paparazzi has been successful yet.

Oh geez more angst with this boy. Can’t we just eat cake made of rainbows and sprinkles and we can all eat and be happy?

Okay so first of all, like Castiel a baby is the LAST thing Nathaniel needs right now. I mean the man is involved with some really shady people who will do really terrible things as proven in the last episode, and by those two douchebags who tried to harass candy and multiple other women. And we know that Nathaniel is scared to death of whoever is in charge, he knows that they’re capable of doing messed up things to people who cross them. So now not only is he putting you at risk by even being with you, now he’s got a freaking CHILD on the way.

When you tell him, he’s shocked into silence. “...What?” He’s got thoughts running a mile a minute through his head. How could he have let this happen? He somehow feels like it’s his fault even though logically it’s not, but he KNOWS he can’t afford to have a baby right now, financially and metaphorically. He makes enough money to support himself as a drug dealer, but it’s not like he plans on being one forever. He’s not going to rely on drug money to take care of you and a baby, it’s just not happening. So now he’s gotta figure out how to find a different source of income so that he can do that. He doesn’t exactly want a baby but he’s not going to let you do this alone. “I’m going to figure something out, I promise.”

He’s done a pretty good job of keeping his relationship with you hidden away from them but people are bound to notice if he’s constantly around you all the time making sure you’re okay. So as much as he hates it, he just can’t be there with you 24/7, especially with them calling him up to do work for them all the time. Expect him to miss some appointments, some classes if you’re taking any and just being alone sometimes in general. He’d love nothing more than to be at home with you making sure you’re feeling okay but he can’t, and he can’t risk anyone trying to follow him to figure out why he’s never around anymore. It sucks but it’s for the best.

On another note though, this does nothing but motivate even more him to get out of the business he’s in. The last thing he’d want is to not be able to be there for you when the baby actually gets here, so he starts taking action a lot sooner than before. And honestly, if he has to sacrifice things for your safety then he will. The last thing he wants is for you to be used as leverage against him or whatever. In this last episode he left town for not only his safety but yours and Ambers as well. So with a baby involved I don’t even think he’d hesitate to leave this time. He won’t communicate with you in any way, he doesn’t want to risk it. But, he sends you money to your bank account whenever he can, and will send baby things through the mail if it’s not too risky. He misses you both dearly even though the little bean isn’t here yet, and I genuinely hope that in a case like this he would be able to come back before the baby is born but who knows? I have no idea how this arc will play out for him.

While he’s away, it’s pretty sad tbh. He’s crying all the time, he feels like complete shit for not being able to be there for you. I lowkey feel like he would keep in touch with Amber but she doesn’t tell you because he asks her not to. She secretly shows him ultrasound pictures and updates him on how you’re doing. She feels bad about it but she feels this strong protectiveness over her niece or nephew, and you too now. She wants so badly to tell you that he’s okay but she can’t. The only thing reassuring you of his existence is the fact that he keeps sending you money. He’s fine, just really freaking sad.

For this sake of this scenario I’m just going to go ahead and say that somehow, miraculously all of this gets fixed and he’s able to come back home. You’d decided to just move into his apartment after he left considering you’d be there all the time anyways. He knows you’re there, Amber told him. He gets back and wastes no time going back to his place. He doesn’t even bother to call you because the thought of seeing you again is the only thing on his mind. He left you and Amber the keys so he’s pounding on the door. It scares you at first and you cautiously look through the peephole. When you see him you swear your entire heart stops. You’re frozen to the spot. You don’t answer for a bit, and he pounds again. “Y-Y/N? Are you here?” It’s not until he says this that you snap back to reality and swing the door open. He doesn’t say anything, you don’t even have time to look at him and take it all in before he’s throwing himself at you. Carefully because now your belly is huge, but still enough force to push you back a bit. You can’t see his face but you know he’s crying because you can feel the tears staining your shoulder, and now you’re crying too. You stay like that for such a long time, just embracing each other and crying. You weren’t even sure if you’d ever see him again so this moment feels unreal.

When he FINALLY takes a step back from you, he grabs your face and kisses you with everything he has, and then he looks at your belly and the reality of it all hits him. Obviously he knew how far along you were but seeing it in person, finally being able to touch your belly and feel the kicks… it’s indescribable. He kneels down and places his hands on either side, a sad looking smile on his face. Of course he’s happy but he’s also sad because FUCK did he miss out. Sure appointments are annoying and shopping for a child can get hectic, but he would take that any day over having to leave you again. “I missed you so so much, I missed you BOTH so much.”

At this point you’re pretty far along in the pregnancy so I wouldn’t doubt it if you went into labor a few weeks after this. As nervous as he is, he won’t even show it. This is a moment he didn’t even think he’d get to have with you so all of his worries get pushed to the back of his mind. His fear used to be not being a good dad because of everything he had going on, but then he had to leave and his fear was not being able to see his baby at all, ever. So everything he worried about in the past doesn’t mean shit to him now, he’s here and that’s all the matters. When the baby finally gets here, it’s like the world around him fades out as soon as he hears that first cry. It’s just you, him and your baby. Having a tiny human in his arms feels like literal heaven to him. Was the situation for having a baby ideal? Of course not. Were you ready for a baby? Of course not. But he would choose this over anything if he had to do it all over again.

Oh god Nathaniel is such a good daddy. He’s so patient with the baby, and he’s as involved as he can be with him working an ACTUAL job and finally being able on school. He does online classes because he hates being away from you guys. When he’s at work he’s constantly sneaking to text you to make sure you’re okay, and he loves getting baby pictures during his breaks. He has slight anxiety when he’s away but he knows that the people he had to deal with will be put away for a long time so he tries to relax. As soon as he’s off he rushes back home to see you two, and just embraces you both in a hug, kissing both of your foreheads. You spend the rest of the evening just being next to each other. Even if you have to do school work, you’re both in the living room on your laptops just enjoying the other’s presence. The baby is probably in their walker running around the house, or falling asleep in their rocker. It’s just an all around peaceful atmosphere even if the baby is getting antsy. Expect visits from auntie Amber often too! It’s really great because she knows how busy you both can get so she’ll usually stay for a few hours to help with the baby so you two can focus on school or getting things done around the apartment. He’s also extremely protective of his family so she’s like the only one who can hold your kid besides Rosa and Alexy, without him glaring at the person and telling them no lmao. And not even just a polite no, he’s just so blunt about it. After what he’s been through he’s just very cautious of who he lets into his life and his family’s life.

im bored and its Saturday night so I plan on reviewing characters from the best show: the umbrella academy

TUA SPOILERS OFC!!!!!!!

1. Luther

Luther is a character that’s really hated on, but personally I don’t hate him all that much. Sure, he makes a lot of mistakes throughout the season but he really doesn't know what it’s like to live without his everyday actions being approved by Sir Reginald. He’s got a lot of issues, and is a dick sometimes, but overall 5/10.

2. Diego

I love Diego and he’s such a good character with great development. In the beginning of episode one, I immediately thought he was a douchebag but I ended up loving his character. He’s so nice... in his own way, of course. But you can see as the series goes on how much he cares about his family and Eudora... :(!! Overall, 10/10. Kind of a dick, but I’m letting it slide because he loves his mom and his knives which makes up for it.

3. Allison

I love Allison so much, even though her “big-sister skills” are questionable. Her character is so *mwah* and I can’t help but love her. She has a big, big heart but sometimes she focuses more on herself than others in the heat of the moment. She made a lot of mistakes with Vanya in the season, which put me on edge, but I thought the scene at the concert with her, Vanya, and the gun <3, really made me SOB. Her character really portrays how nothing can stand in-between sibling bonds, especially when she chooses to save Vanya instead of the world. 8/10.

4. Klaus

I love Klaus and he’s one of my favorites, (him, Diego, and Ben). I truly LOVE how much he progressed through the season. I relate to him most out of all character’s by far. When Dave died it was so amazing how Klaus pulled through his addiction just to see him again, which I think is so wonderful. I can’t wait for next season when we get to see more of his powers!! 11/10.

5. Five

Five’s a real dickhead, but I honestly love how he risked everything to save his family from impending doom. His cocky and ambitious character lowkey annoyed me throughout the series but I was also soft for the other side of him which was trying so hard to save the world. He may not show it, but he loves his family a lot. And he loves Delores which adds 0.5 points. 7.5/10.

6. Ben

I love Ben so much. I feel so utterly bad for him and I’m dying (lmao) to find out how he died. His character is so wonderful and just improves the show by 100% anytime he’s on screen. I love and think it’s so amazing how much he’s trying to help his brother be the amazing person he sees him as. Ben is so wonderful and he needs 800 more minutes, at least, of screen time next season. Ben is one of the best characters in the show for his heartfelt nature. 11/10.

7. Vanya

I’m in love with Ellen Page Vanya. Her beautifully portrayed character makes me SCREAM. Yes, she tried to end the world and had already once killed everyone in a different timeline but that doesn't matter. She is so kickass and awesome. I feel horrible for how she was treated by her father and her siblings, which Allison tried to make up for during the season. Her powers are so cool, too. I love Vanya, but I feel as though ending the world because of your childhood trauma is a bit much. But we also should remember she didn’t have much control over her powers and her anger must’ve taken the best of her. Her sibling, Luther, also put her in the one place of her childhood that was most traumatic which was so horrible. I’m going have to take away 0.5 points, though. She kinda slit Allison’s throat :/. 9.5/10.

8. Hazel and Cha-Cha

The two most badass characters of the show. I love them so much even though their relationship is a little toxic. But that’s not completely their fault.

9. Leonard Peabody/Harold Jenkins

I hate him, I don’t even know why I included him in this. -1/10.

10. Grace 

I love Grace so much! She is the best robot mom in history and I feel so bad for how Reginald treated her. Grace gets a 200/10 from me, chief.

11. Sir Reginald Hargreeves 

Who hurt this man to make him such a monster? Reginald is the worst character by far, he hurt and traumatized all of his “children”. Sure, they’re superheroes and need training to save people or whatever but they were just kids. They didn’t deserve to be hurt so badly by the man they deemed their father. 0/10.

12. The Handler 

“Wow, what a bitch,” I said ten seconds before falling in love with her. So, whatever. She’s kind of the bad guy but she’s so funny, idk why. I love her. 4/10, just because she did a lot of messed up shit but she just gave me vibes whenever she was onscreen.

13. Pogo

Pogo was an enabler to Sir Reginald’s abuse which makes me give him a 2/10. Yes, he cared for the kids but he was an enabler to his abuse and could’ve told them the secrets Reginald kept hidden instead of forcing them all to slowly suffer as they uncover more and more. 

14. Agnes Rofa

I LOVE HER SO MUCH SHE IS SUCH A SWEETIE. 1000/10.

tips on making through debilitating depressive episodes when you got EXECUTIVE DYSFUNCTION!

i know a lot of people have made these but i just want to make one (mostly for myself? but hopefully it helps others?) idk its cathartic and im going through it so let me live!!!! also some of these are just general depression tips because um... executive dysfuntion doesnt impact everything! also my experiences are specifically with ADHD but im assuming theyll apply to others. 

1) Keep up with hygiene: this is probably the most important thing to do in my opinion. its nearly impossible to want to do anything if you havent taken care of the basics. if showering is too hard, brush your teeth, wash your face, and use dry shampoo... but honestly, even if its the only thing you do and you end up doing it at 9pm, try to take a shower. it will help. 

2) Keep the sad song playlist at bay: its sooo easy to stare at your ceiling and wallow as you listen to mitski for hours on end, but ive noticed that, for me, it just keeps my mood stagnant -- never better. usually when im Going Through It i cant bear to listen to anything up beat or happy, but an easy solution for that is listening to relaxing classical, folk, r&b, etc music. honestly as long as it doesnt remind you that you feel like shit it will be better.

3) Try to talk with your friends: yeah, yeah, adhd makes social media and texting really difficult. for me, when im in a mood, i literally can not text back, make posts, or do anything social. (even though i scroll through social media endlessly, without interacting?) but often this is simultaneously a contributing factor to why you feel bad -- humans are social creatures, we need interaction whether we want it or not lol. try to strike up a text conversation, it can be short, just remind yourself that there are people who care about you and like talking to you. and hey, if you can manage, maybe try to get a quick 30 minute meal with someone. theres less talking, social interaction, and food! which gets me too...

4) Eat as best as you can: i know some people binge eat when their depressed, but im the other side of the coin -- i never eat, i cant muster up the energy to leave bed to find food, mostly because nothing is appetizing in the first place. especially when im on my medication, eating feels nearly impossible. i try to see food as a fuel source when i cant find any joy in it -- even though the experience is unpleasant, my body is loving it. pro tip: leave dried fruits, crackers, your favorite bag of chips, etc under your bed if you’re like me! it makes the whole process a lot easier, and theres less of a hassle in getting food so you might as well eat what you stashed. :p.

5) Clean: after a few days of not doing anything, youre room is gonna start looking like shit. its just an accumulation of your depression and disorganization from adhd, and for me, it makes me feel worse and worse as my room gets dirtier and dirtier. the most important thing ive learned is to tackle one task at a time -- clean the top of your desk, shove all the clothes on your floor into your closet, make your bed... you dont have to do everything in one day. sometimes hiding the mess is a good alternative, and lets you deal with it at a later date while you still have the benefit of a seemingly decluttered room.

6) Try to do something productive: imma be real with you this is one i never follow, but its also really important, especially when youre feeling depressed at a busy time in your life. aim for 5 or 10 minutes of doing an assignment, see how you feel and if you can continue. if not -- thats ok, youve already made a dent, and you can try again later in the day! taking it in 5 to 10 minute increments makes it more manageable, and less of a commitment.

7) Vary what you do: again, so easy to get into hyperfocus and watch 8 hours of sims architecture videos on youtube. try not to let yourself fall into a hole like that. of course, video watching is great, but try to throw in some other of your interests that are more stimulating and interactive. i find myself mindlessly watching videos without even thinking about or absorbing what im watching. its important to branch out -- whether that be video games, drawing, singing... whateva!

im sure there’s more things you can do, and im also aware that these dont apply to everyone. i just think its important to have a realistic baseline of tasks when you feel like you cant do anything. obviously, you shouldnt live like that every day, and you should try to branch out more, but if you ever get stuck please try to take care of yourself! and if this helps im really glad! it helps me! oh and finally -- if youre feeling like this and you havent already, please reach out for support because you literally need it. talking to myself because im still not in therapy but im forcing myself to start this summer because c’mon man this is ridiculous. kbye<3!

It was an introduction episode, so imo, it's just there to put the basis for the rest of the season. There was a good balance between the "emotionally charged" scenes and the more quiet ones, all this accompanied with an increasing tension in the background.

I wish theyd reanimated the scene of armin talking to eren about the opening instead of just reusing the animation from season 1.

Watching this episode is bringing back all the suspense and awe I felt when I read this part in the manga. What a treat to be able to relive it!

They did a great job at keeping the tension and the "well shit everything's about to go wrong" from chapters 73 and 74, and managed to make the explosion at the end worth it, despite the fact I still think Reiner's continued survival throughout the arc is stupid and wish the anime had changed it so it'd be more believable, but here we are.

you sat on the ledge of your bay window. watching the rain fall against the glass. you sighed, missing the feeling of sebastian’s warm arms wrapped around your waist, holding you as close as possible. you missed the scent of his cologne, you missed his goofy jokes, and that smirk, you always missed that fucking smirk. you missed the way he would make your knees weak just by smiling. he was the one thing in your life that was perfect. until one day. you had a fight, a big fight. one that ended in him leaving you in your shared apartment choking out his name, begging him to stay. your mind drifted off to that day.

it was two forty-six in the afternoon, the sun was high in the sky and the birds were chirping. you sat on the couch watching an episode of your favorite show. sebastian stormed through your front door, scaring you to death, “jesus, seb. what the hell?” he says nothing all he does is hold up his phone. you squint to see it better. on the screen there’s a picture of you and your friend, andrew. andrew is known for being a class A dick to most people but he was one of your best friends from childhood.

your body shuddered at the one week old memory. in the past week you’d sent him 138 text messages and left him as many voicemails you could until it filled up. you brought your knees closer to your chest and looked to your right at your rose gold iphone 7 plus. you reached over to pick it up and dialed the number that was tattooed into your brain. the call went straight to voicemail, you furrowed your brows and tried to call him again. still straight to voicemail. then it hit you. he blocked your number. you sighed deeply and looked around your bedroom. every inch of this room had a memory. the bed; the first time you and sebastian had made love, the carpet next to the bed; where sebastian fell off the bed and you had to get him an ice pack for his head, the bathroom; where you walked in on sebastian singing in the shower, the closet; where sebastian blindfolded you and picked you out an outfit (he ended up picking a red lacy piece of lingerie). you didn’t even notice you were crying until a warm tear made its way down your cheek. you sniffled and decided to stop crying over him. you needed to distract yourself so you threw on a light blue sundress and some sandals. you walked down stairs and grabbed your car keys. you sat in your white volkswagen jetta and pondered over where to go. you wanted to talk to sebastian but you couldn’t. so instead, you called your best friend, chris. you clicked the call button and waited for him to pick up.

“hello?”

“hey chris. are you alone?”
