Stickmintober 2024 Day 12: Prized Possession

...I'll be honest, I didn't have a lot of ideas for this one. I remember a bit from Game Grumps I saw a while ago where Princess Zelda gives Link (Loafus?) a dead rat as her most treasured possession.

Is the rat actually important to Henry, or is he just crazy? Who knows, but Charles can't back out now, even if he wanted to. That's what friends (?) are for!

honestly, i dont really have much to say about the route itself... as said before, convict allies basically stays the same.

but i do have some thoughts about how henry and charles think of each other throughout the route;

Charles' view on henry stays quite positive. after henry proves himself to not only friendly, funny, but also smart (sometimes) and innovative (and quite odd, like where does he get all that stuff from? it's not... bad, though, so charles won't question it yet). maybe (if you like stickvin, idm any ships at all for this au) he falls for this stupid little man when saving him from dmitri. i think he gains a lot of trust in henry throughout the small amount of time they're together in convict allies, with charles trusting henry would be back for him when he runs off and leaves him with dmitri (just like how, in canon, charles believes henry would help him after not only deviating from the plan and stealing the toppat's ruby, but also running to the toppats to join them with ellie in the tr/pp route).

meanwhile, i think Henry would hold Charles at somewhat higher regard as a toppat or if he went through the pbt route. i feel he'd have a bit more respect for fellow criminals such as the toppats and, in this case, charles. it's much easier for him to trust and get along with charles knowing they're both criminals. meanwhile, he'd be a bit hesitant and puzzled with the government route charles. wondering why this guy is even here. but he eventually gets to know and trust him as well. it just... takes much longer.

day 9 and 10 baby!! ive been drawing so much recently and i think i feel a sort of burnout coming so uhm. thats wonderful. but ill try and persist and finish stickmintober impossibly late because i refuse to give up. school is starting soon though so these drawings will be slow sorry!!

anyway. for day 9 i interpreted the jewels as kids - specifically, henry’s kids, and in the drawing theyre arguing over whos henrys favourite. i think they would definitely be little rascals - i mean, look at their dad/old family (the toppats). i made their ages based off of when henry got them, so diamond is oldest, ruby is the middle child, and emerald is youngest. also, theyre all adopted since theyre all different nationalities - diamond is tunisian, ruby romanian, and emerald norweigan, as stated in the games.

for day 10 - im not sure if dave x charles is a rarepair, but i havent seen a lot of content for them - ive seen two oneshots max. anyway, i think theyre pretty cute together, and since they were the most rarepair-y ship that i could see myself shipping, i decided to draw them! yes, i know theyve never met, but if they met i think they would definitely like eachother. i do still ship polythreat/stickvin but i am, after all, a multishipper.

This is Ask Inherited Curse! Charles.

Inherited Curse is an AU for Henry Stickmin that I created where after an ending Henry's "curse" of being able to go back from death and to pause time to make a choice is passed down to Charles.

There will be a more detailed explanation further down, a LOT of this is based on headcanon.

You can ask other characters, too! It's just called "Ask Inherited Curse! Charles" because Charles is the main focus of the AU.

This is a more lore-focused blog, though I will indulge in silly goofs.

ALSO!! I am a Stickvin shipper, though I will try to not really include a lot of that in the AU as to not make it seem like Inherited Curse HAS to have Stickvin to exist.

This specific blog will take place after the Triple Threat ending for a good character pool, though I will take asks about other endings too.

I'm perfectly chill with rps, just know that unless it would actually be good for expanding the lore then nothing from rps will be canon in the au.

So, what IS Inherited Curse? Henry's ability to be able to make choices and come back from death is more of a "curse", and once he gets an "ending" in Completing The Mission that curse is passed to Charles, being Henry's closest pal.

Charles discovered this suddenly when he was on a mission and got a bit cornered. Everything suddenly paused around him and three little floating buttons appeared in front of him. Confused, he pressed one at random and time unpaused as he died from his slow thinking.

He was sent into shock once he woke back up, soon realizing that he's basically immortal and now instead of just making a choice, he has to choose between whatever he was given.

And yeah, that's basically the AU! Hope you like it!

Alrighty so I've pretty much made it an unspoken rule that I make an edit of a fandom I'm currently in with training wheels by melanie martinez

Ever since I started making edits I stg every single fandom I've been in that I've made an edit for has some kind of training wheels edit. First Danganronpa, then OMORI, then Eddsworld, then Inanimate Insanity. And it makes sense actually--training wheels is my favorite song to ever exist I love it so so much <3

So now I'm in the THSC fandom so I gotta make an edit with the song. Only thing is I dunno what the edit should be. A ship edit or a character edit? Bcz I've made 2 ship edits and 2 character edits with the song so far, so THSC will have to be the tie breaker.

There's not a lot of options for ships bcz most popular thsc ships (except for like rosemin and stickvin) don't have any screen time😭like bro how am I supposed to make a curtisson ship edit if they're not even in the same room during the game. There's not a lot of scenes with them in general either so I don't think I could make an edit with just Sven or Burt (unless I snatch fanart or use the same picture over and over again which I'm not gonna do LMAO)

Character edit might be easier tbh--there's more options there. That being Henry, Charles, Ellie, RHM, Reginald, Dave, and maybe Rupert bcz they get a fair amount of screentime throughout the game. The question is though...who? Hmm...I'm leaning more towards one of Triple Threat or Dave bcz the thought of the other three in a training wheels edit cracks me up so I probably wouldn't even be able to make it properly PFF

I'll have to think on it more--probably go for the easiest option bcz I haven't edited since like November 2022
