Hello. Sorry if this question is out of place, but I don't really know who to ask, and I saw that recently someone sent you an ask about the gego vs satosugu dynamics

What does that mean?

How are they different from each other?

I'm new to the fandom and I don't have much idea about that stuff, so I would love if someone could explain more to me.

hi! don’t worry, i only figured the terminology out at the tail-end of 2023, so you’re good!

this all relates to sex dynamics, or put simply, who tops and who bottoms. generally in the eastern fandom, the character mentioned first in a ship name tops, and the following character bottoms (hence why you might see people describe their ships with the terms “left” and “right”!). however, within the western fandom, the ship name “satosugu” is an umbrella term of sorts (also called stsg). to differentiate between sex dynamic preferences, we have subfandoms! people who like satosugu (sometimes called stsgists) would either call themselves gego (夏五, or getogojo) or goge (五夏, or gojogeto). there are people who like switching dynamics, too (gegoge—夏五夏 or gogego—五夏五). some stsgists don’t even bother with terms at all! and that’s really it!

though satosugu is the general ship name, occasionally people do use “sugusato” or sgst to show their preferences. also, within the eastern fandom, geto and gojo have numbers associated with them because of the kanji characters in their names. geto is 72 because the character in his name (夏) is pronounced “natsu.” the “na-“ in 72 comes from “nana(tsu)” (七つ), meaning 7, and “-tsu,” which sounds like “two” in english. gojo is 5 because the character in his name (五) is pronounced “go” and translates to 5. thus, geto is 72 and gojo is 5—725 and 572 are also ship preferences! so are the terms “natsugo” or “gonatsu”!

this (夏) character in geto’s name also translates to the word “summer,” so you might see variations of the terms “summerfive” or “fivesummers” as ship preferences! there are also the colors black and white, which are pretty self-explanatory—🖤🤍 and 🤍🖤, or ▪️▫️ and▫️▪️, or any other variation of emojis. you might also see yellow and blue emojis; yellow is geto’s usual designated color in official art and merch, and gojo’s is almost always blue, so you might see 💛💙 or 💙💛.

usually, the character who tops also leads, but leading (and dominating and giving) is not synonymous to topping. the same goes for bottoming. the ship preference name always refers to who tops and bottoms, regardless of how it happens. of course, topping and bottoming mean nothing to their characters (and they don’t determine your identity in real life, either), they are just preferences, but there are the typical overlapping interpretations of characterization when it comes to each stsg subfandom. i recommend looking them up on either twitter or tumblr to see for yourself!

whenever i refer to them as satosugu, it’s usually because i’m talking about them in a non-sexual way. sometimes, i use satosugu instead of “geto and gojo” to refer to their canon character dynamics, just for the sake of convenience. (i try to be as objective as i can when i’m doing these types of analyses!) personally, i like top!geto and bottom!gojo, mainly fixed. whenever i refer to them as gego, it’s usually because i’m talking about them in a sexual way or it’s of an implied sexual nature. sometimes, i refer to them as gego just because i can! this is headcanon territory! it’s all fun!

what software do you use for art and for animation?

I usually use photoshop, but only because I’m in college for graphic design and have the subscription anyway. If ur looking for a free alternative I’d recommend medibang!!!! I used to use it exclusively and loved it :) both are great tho! As for animation, I used to use windows movie maker but it’s discontinued :( so I have to find a new one

If the horizon characters are connected to the classical elements(as in Avatar: The Last Airbender related stuff) what would they be?

Ooh lovely question! I just watched atla for the first time a year ago, so I think I'm ready to answer this 😎

The idea that Aloy could be the Avatar is so good to me bc she could struggle with all the 'bring peace and balance' thing in the same way she does in the canon hzd universe. She's pretty good with all of the elements, even if Rost only taught her how to use earth bending. She has many tricks up her sleeve and manages to fight using all four incredibly.

Elisabet was the previous avatar too, and Beta could also be a (much less experienced) avatar, seeing as we can use the clone cheating code to have two twin avatars in one timeline.

Then for the other characters, I think Varl would be great as a water bender! He was calm and nice, and he had quite a tendency to look out for the others... so he could work as healer too.

Zo could be a strong earth bender, sad that not even her bending could help her tribe with the blight. She uses it lightly when fighting, but when she goes all in she's powerful af. (Also it would have made it easier for her to bring all those pots and plants inside.)

Erend could be... you know? I had this small atla au once that had him come down from a line of powerful fire benders, Ersa being the best of all of them ( managing to control lightning!) And all of a sudden either Erend is a non-bender (Later discovering he can actually bend fire, then trained hard to harness lightning (inspo from his lightning hammer) ) OR that he got stuck being a water bender, having developed accidentally after Ersa got in the way of their father's tantrum when they were kids and he healed her. He doesn't use his bending except on extreme emergencies bc you know, he's insecure about it. So people think he's a fire bender or an earth bender because how could he not? He's an oseram. But yes, either fire/lightning or water for the boy.

Kotallo can definitely be a water bender with an ice specialty, he's a master at it and fights with it quite gracefully. Total pro. His new prosthetic arm was made specially to control water bending, with special materials so it resists the frost and even lets the element flow through it. For a special attack he could coat his arm in water, then freeze it with ice spikes on the shoulder.

For Alva I think air bender suits her quite well, seeing as there were air nomads in atla and since she's a Quen diviner, the same dynamics could be used there! Alva was sent to the forbidden west looking for the Avatar to help the Quen with their blight problem, and when she meets Aloy she realizes its quite more difficult than it already is 👀

Sylens is a non-bender but he's damn fearless and makes up with his sheer wit and intellect. I like the idea that he can make special weapons that can mimick bending perfectly, so it always looks like he can bend the elements, making it difficult for random people he meets to actually know his origins.

As a lil bonus characters I'll have the showmen trio as earth (abadund), air (morlund) and fire (stemmur). Together they make a MASSIVE show of their bending, and it racks up the good shards.

So as a relative newcomer to AOT, I'm curious what exactly the Smart Passes are? I've heard them mentioned fairly often. Are they light novels or short stories? Are they all collected in a compendium or were they all released in magazines?

what’s ur diet and workout for ellie’s physique?

i don’t gain any weight so i don’t really watch my diet, but i definitely don’t eat any junk food or candy. just have a nice balanced diet with protein, veggies & fruit is more than fine. and for working out, i workout pretty much every single day. i do a lot of sports to keep me in shape. those days where i’m not doing sports i go and workout at home.
