i don't like who i am now. i remember climbing trees and days when my hair flowed free but now its held in place with hairspray and my limbs are fastened in a pose that is a convincing replica of those around me and as the weight of my lie grows, my legs begin to quake and i teeter on the edge of a pit with no railing, arms flailing, everyone is staring as i fall, no hands reaching to grab me because i'd pushed them all away in the the name of perfect poise i never found and before i hit the ground i have enough time to scream, but there is no reply, not even an echo.

Guys, I published a book!!! So excited to share this project with everyone, now that it’s out in the public. Last year I worked on an illustration book with The Quarto Group Publisher in London. I drew over 800 illustrations within a short period of time while juggling a few other jobs and school… now it’s done and available for everyone! His name is Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, but me and my friends call him Ax. Ax is bad at speaking about himself, so I often ask him this and that. He is an alien, after all! Of course I am interested about how many hearts does he have. (Three.) Altough he could speak about quantum physics and still every part of my body would be tingling.

With all due respect, I think Jake wouldn’t get it, Tobias would tell Ax about it immediately, Rachel… Well, it is easiest to tell to Cassie. She is smiling, when I complete my story. She tilts her head, puts her digging fork to lean against the wall and sits next to me on the hay bale. ’’I know’’, she says. I laugh, slap her tenderly with my hoodie sleeve, and ask her to tell me what to do. 

Thanks to Cassie, I have the courage to tell Ax about my feelings although it doesn’t happen until many years after the war.
