yeonjun’s heart shattered at the sight. he had to leave you behind , after promising to never leave your side. why couldn’t you just last a few more minutes , you were nearly at your final destination. you were so close , almost arriving at the quarantine zone.

you had watched as your group struggled to fight off a handful of zombies. watching as yeonjun fought off a zombie , not realizing as one started running behind him. you knew that you didn’t have a weapon , but you couldn’t just stand there watching your boyfriend get bit.

your feet led you over to yeonjun , defending him from the other zombie. placing your forearm in the zombies mouth. yeonjun turned over , as he finished off the other pale figure. he pushed the one that was biting you. holding it against the floor , before an arrow goes through it’s head. but it didn’t stop him from taking out all his anger , punching the zombie repeatedly.

you put your hand on his shoulder , there were no more left. everybody looked at you , eyes full of sympathy for yeonjun and you.

“it’s okay..” you calmly stated , taking a seat on the floor next to yeonjun. his lower lip quivered , eyes filled with tears. he looked at you , his arms wrapping around you , holding you tightly. he took a peek at your forearms spotting a tear in your school uniform , as well as the bite. “jun , look at me ,”

he pulls away from the embrace looking at your bite , seeing the imprint it left , and the large amount of red liquid that was dripping. his eyes saw as your white button up began to stain. tears began pooling , holding them back , although he couldn’t help but let his bottom lip quiver. your heart broke at the sight , but you couldn’t let him get hurt.

“you big baby , don’t cry , you think the only thing i want to remember is you crying.” you put your hand on his chin , letting him see your soft smile. “you gotta get to the quarantine zone , jun. go with hari and minju , you’ll get there safely.. ‘kay ?”

he nodded smiling , as tears fell down his cheek. “don’t worry about me-“

“what if she turns into a half-bie ?” daesu speaks up , looking down , hiding his tears.

“even if i do , i’d be a danger to everyone there , you guys have to go.” you said , hugging yeonjun one more time. before pulling away , giving him a kiss on the nose. “go , okay ? i’ll be completely fine i promise.”

“y/n , maybe we can still make it ? maybe they have a cure ? or maybe they can just put you separately until they find one !” yeonjun wishes , praying that he could stay with you till the very end.

“yeonjun you have to go , they’re coming okay , you can’t be here any longer.” you stood up , hand in hand , pushing him into suhyeok. as he unwillingly restrained him from running back to you. here you were , the school’s most cutest couple , finally one thing found it’s way to make you two go different ways.

yeonjun felt his throat clog up , watching as you walked away from the group , tears flowing out of his eyes.

why couldn’t you have just let him get bitten , if he was more aware of his surroundings then maybe he could’ve taken both of them down. but instead he let you get hurt , he wouldn’t stop blaming himself.

his mind ran back to when he promised to keep you safe , to stick by your side.. so why was he letting you leave without him..
