I think, with Anna, they're actively trying to undo C&D's damage in everyone kissing Sonny's ass as the town savior, even though her change was too rushed and based on complete hearsay. I can appreciate more Sonny haters; can't just have it be Scotty.
With Anna, it's "Sonny needs to go because he tried to kill a technical innocent man," but with Joss and Dex, it's...not. Not even close, at least it's not as believable.
Dex is easier to explain: he confessed to all this shit because he was upset that Joss dumped him. While the show didn't state the exact reason Dex fessed up, it can be one of two (or both) things: 1. He blames Sonny for Joss breaking up with him, or 2. He wants to 'right wrongs' and take Sonny was down with the latent hope Joss takes him back. Either reason makes him look pathetic, and as someone who also came from a bad home, we don't claim this bitch or his "love" or his "feelings" (considering she was barely legal when they fucked sooooooo yeah he's trash).
Josslyn...there's two parts. The first is cut-and-dry: they're attempting a reset of the character to make her more like Jax. And like they're doing with Anna, it's forced and makes no sense. Joss is actually worse because she actively endorsed mob shit and bullied her friend/ex-boyfriend over him hating the professional killer Sonny had employed at the time.
This goes into the second thing: the change in the show's moral center. The Benson Triumvirate currently runs that show and likely always has the moment C&D took over, but when CarSon was a thing, Sonny was included. When CarSon split up because Sonny cheated for the umpteenth time, he was drop-kicked. You can see it in the way the show treats their shared behavior:
Michael: He gets Willow to cheat on Chase, who was literally dying at the time, and the second Chase finds out, he's mad for a hot second before forgiving Michael and praising his intentions. He also decides to place a mole in Sonny's business to take him down because "he's a criminal," but actually because he cheated on Carly...ignoring how he is also a cheater AND a criminal. Ha.
Josslyn: Emotionally and physically cheats on Cam with Dex because "her feelings changed," which the show backs up to Cam's detriment (and Cam also swiftly forgives her). She's also the mouthiest detractor of Sonny's business despite using his name to threaten people she doesn't like. But whateverrrrrrr.
Carly: Commits a major white collar crime and the show bends over backwards to blame the whistleblower instead of the lawbreaker. She's the only Benson who technically gives Sonny a break on his crimes, but she was absolutely frothing at the mouth over the cheating...as if she has never done that to anyone in her life. LMFAO.
That's the core here, y'know? The Bensons cheat with or on people, and it's justified as "protecting the victim" or "the feelings were gone and shit happens yk?" The Bensons commit major crimes, from bribing a federal official to obstruction of justice to kidnapping to insider trading, and it's justified with "oh the bribery is fine considering who the Defendant is" or "the victim kissed her as thanks at the end so he's fine" to "well snitches get stitches bitch" and it's very eyeroll-inducing.
But Sonny cheats, and it's "he doesn't love his family" or "he's a selfish little prick," and Sonny does crimes, but it's "omg that mobster man was defenseless you monster" and "that legal deal is still shady and thus worth scrutiny" and it's very apparent the agenda shift/revelation. And honestly, Nina was just the picked woman, because something tells me this shit still would've happened if a different woman was in her place.
I think I said this when Sonny finally found out about Dex, that this whole grudge and revenge story has made Sonny the victim despite their efforts to claim the opposite. Like I've seen neutral or anti-Sonny people (and neutral or anti-Nina/anti-Sona people) side with him because the other side is fucking ridiculous and coddled by the story to an extreme degree, and audiences do not like it when you try to make them pick the side you want them to pick.
Been thinking about this one for a good while because with the recent Sonny talk going on for the past few episodes, but now I gotta talk about it.
So right now we got some characters (Joss, Anna, Dex) villifying Sonny's attempt on Cyrus' life, which like I get, but it's just got me thinking about how aside from 2 moments which I'll talk about in a little bit--nearly all of Sonny's crimes for the past few years have been done to generally shitty people.
Oh, Sonny tried to fatally poison a man in prison? Oh that's terrible, it's--oh, it was done to Peter August, a crazy murderer.
Oh, Sonny had a man beaten to a pulp in an alley? Horrifying! How could he--oh wait, that man is Smoltz/Felty, who tried to profit off of Sasha's suffering.
Oh, Sonny tried to assassinate a man in their hospital bed? What the--oh, that's Cyrus, a guy who held a mother and daughter hostage and all-around untrustworthy dude (plus isn't Laura and others legitimately suspicious of him???)
Now, to give credit to the Anti-Sonny side on this, the last one Sonny did to pretty much cover his ass when he thought Cyrus would press charges for his violent temper tantrum, but it's still just a bit...confusing to me that THIS is the part where everyone in Port Charles draws the line.
Now the two things I mentioned earlier are torturing Dex in the Meat Locker Incident, and the Pikeman Deal. Yes, torturing Dex was pretty messed up and inexcusable, but at the time, Dex seemed to be the prime suspect in the Hook Killings (him being present at Ava, Brando, and Diane's stabbings, and him being a complete stranger to PC). As for the Pikeman Deal, yes that is not good, but I SWEAR, the show initially said that "Oh yeah, the deal is actually Legal."
So I just find this whole "Oh we GOTTA bring Sonny down because he tried to kill a villain" thing strange.
#general hospital#the story makes you pro-sonny when it's trying to do the opposite - it doesn't mean you're actually pro-sonny for everything else#like me - don't care for sonny/nina/sona one bit but the story has put me on their side in the present circumstances#and yes everyone is a criminal on the show and that's part of the charm - the show likes to cherrypick whose crimes are actually crimes#peter was evil. felty was scummy. cyrus was and still is bad and shady. they each deserved an equivalent exit for their bullshit.#and yes the pikeman deal was legal! the show just wants to gaslight us all the fucking time to keep the pro-benson agenda#anyways don't you love it when i invade your posts with analysis? i can't help myself smh lol

“I have no problems creating my own fun.”
CARSON ELIZABETH BENSON is a SEVENTEEN/ EIGHTEEN-year-old VAMPIRE (BORN) and is attending SPELLBOUND ACADEMY as a SENIOR. SHE currently identifies as BISEXUAL and is CURRENTLY SINGLE. Her FACE CLAIM is NINA DOBREV.
CARSON is ALERT, CAPTIVATING, and SARCASTIC, but can be AGGRESSIVE, BRUTAL, and SELF-INDULGENT.
X QUICK FACTS…?
DATE OF BIRTH: March 6th, 1993 PLACE OF BIRTH: Sofia, Bulgaria PARENTS: Jonathan, Elizabeth SIBLINGS: None HEIGHT: 5′7 EYE COLOR: Dark Brown HAIR COLOR: Brown
X HI, MY NAME IS
Carson Benson is a brunette with a pretty fucked up past, but of course, no one truly knows that. Most just assume that she’s a bitch with no heart or soul. It’s clearly obvious that the teenager is just clearly misunderstood. She didn’t know what to do with all of the hurt, pain, and anger that she felt inside so she projected it onto others by being a world class bitch. Underneath her bad ass attitude is a young girl desperately searching for someone to understand her.
Carson’s childhood was pretty rough. With a single mother and a more-than-invisible father, she was left to fend for herself. Don’t get her wrong, Carson adores her mother, but that clearly wasn’t enough to stop her from running away the year she entered Spellbound Academy. She wanted to be around more people like her and was looking for some change of scenary.
Carson does what she wants whenever she wants to. Despite her tough exterior, she is capable of being hurt though it only further pisses her off and she ends up wrecking havoc. She especially loves the fact that she’s a Vampire. There are certain perks that come with being a Pureblood Vampire. She quickly built a reputation for herself and is not someone to mess with. She’s a big bitch to put it lightly and only hangs out with people that she thinks can keep up with her.
It didn’t take her that long to find some people to keep her entertained, but when she’s not with her friends, she’s definitely doing something that she shouldn’t.
X THESE ARE MY FRIENDS & THESE ARE OUR STORIES
✘ BROOKE ADAMS: Carson Benson and Brooke Adams became friends after being introduced to each other by their mutual friend, Blake Lawson. When they’re in need of some serious fun, the two know that they can go to the other. ✘ CORDELIA BENJAMIN: Cordelia Benjamin & Carson Benson are close. The two were roommates when Cordelia was a Freshman and she was a Sophomore. ✘ AUDREY GANNER: Carson Benson and Audrey Ganner have a weird relationship. The two did not get along when they first met and now just have a mutual understanding because of Blake Lawson. ✘ RACHEL JAMES: Carson Benson and Rachel James do not really speak to each other unless they have to. Carson sometimes pities her because of her crush on Blake. She thinks she’d have a better chance once she realizes Blake doesn’t do relationships. ✘ SAMANTHA KEELER: Samantha Keeler & Carson Benson are close friends after Samantha grew close to her best friend, Blake Lawson. The two clicked because of their bitch sides. She would most likely be a part of the Evil Geniuses Club. ✘ BLAKE LAWSON: Blake Lawson and Carson Benson met after being paired for a school project. It was surprisingly easy to open up to each other. They’re each other’s lookouts and usually go hunting together. ✘ LINDSAY MCKENZIE: Carson Benson & Lindsay McKenzie only spoke due to events and classes. The two saw more of each other because of Lindsay’s relationship with Blake. After the breakup, Carson is not really sure where their relationship stands.

Q: How much do I know about sports off the top of my head? I’m bored, so let’s find out.
NFL:
NFC West (one of the strongest divisions ever):
Seattle Seahawks. Key (and less-key) players: Russell Wilson (QB), DK Metcalf (WR), Tyler Lockett (WR), Freddie Swain (WR), Greg Olsen (TE), Colby Parkinson (TE), Damien Lewis (G), Duane Brown (T), Ethan Pocic (C, I think?), Chris Carson (RB), Rashaad Penny (RB), Travis Homer (RB), Michael Dickson (P), help what’s the kicker’s name, Jamal Adams (S), Quandre Diggs (S), Bobby Wagner (LB), KJ Wright (LB), Jordyn Brooks (LB), Poona Ford (DI), Jarran Reed (defensive... line somewhere), Shaquill Griffon (CB), Quinton Jefferson (CB), Tre Flowers (CB), Benson Mayowa (DE), Carlos Dunlap (DE), Alton Robinson (DE), Shaquem Griffon (DE), god I can’t remember the new slot corner but he’s pretty good I think. Coach: Pete Carroll. OC: Brian Schottenheimer. DC: Ken Norton, Jr. GM: John Schneider. Owner: Jody Allen. Notes: Every game is close. Used to always run, but this year always throws. Quarterback is basically magic. Defense is severely lacking. My home team, obviously.
San Francisco 49ers. Key players: Jimmy Garoppolo (QB), George Kittle (TE), many fast running backs, Raheem Mostert is one of them, Trent Williams (T), Richard Sherman (CB), Nick Bosa (DE). Coach: Kyle Shanahan. Notes: Running game scheme is a work of staggering genius. Best player is a tight end for some reason. Went to the Super Bowl last year.
Arizona Cardinals. Key players: Kyler Murray (QB), Larry Fitzgerald (WR), DeAndre Hopkins (WR), Christian Kirk (WR), Budda Baker (S), Patrick Peterson (CB). Coach: Kliff Kingsbury. Notes: Runs many wide receivers, in scheme Kingsbury got from coaching college. Used to be bad, but getting better each year. Kyler is very small.
Los Angeles Rams. Key players: Jared Goff (QB), Cooper Kupp (WR), Andrew Whitworth (T), Darrell Henderson (RB), Aaron Donald (DI), Johnny Hekker (P). Coach: Sean McVay. DC: Used to be Wade Phillips, but not anymore. Notes: Runs a lot of plays from the same formation. Coach is very smart. Made the Super Bowl two years ago. Best player is a defensive tackle, for some reason.
NFC East (the worst division in NFL history):
New York Giants. Key players: Daniel Jones (QB), Saquon Barkley (RB). Coach: Joe, uh... Douglas. GM: Dave Gettleman. Notes: Spent a huge amount of draft capital on players the numbers said weren’t worth it. Seems accurate.
Philadelphia Eagles. Key players: Carson Wentz (QB), Jalen Hurts (backup QB), literally everyone else is injured. Oh, Jason Peters (T). Coach: Doug Peterson. GM: Howie Roseman. Notes: Everyone is injured. Everyone. Went to the Super Bowl 3 years ago and won with their backup QB.
Dallas Cowboys. Key players: Dak Prescott (QB, injured), Andy Dalton (backup QB, injured), No one of note (third-string QB), Amari Cooper (WR), CeeDee Lamb (WR), Ezekiel Elliott (RB), Leighton Vander Esch (LB), Greg Zuerlein (K), I could probably name more if I tried hard enough. Coach: Mike McCarthy. GM: Jerry Jones. Owner: Also Jerry Jones. Notes: Every year they have good players and lose anyway. Paid their running back instead of their quarterback. Also, now they have no healthy quarterback.
Washington [used to have a racist name]. Key players: Dwayne Haskins (benched QB), Alex Smith (QB... whose leg does not work), Kyle Allen (QB), Terry McLaurin (WR), Chase Young (DE), Montez Sweat (DE). Coach: Ron Rivera. Owner: Dan Snyder, who is the worst human being in the NFL, and that is saying a lot. Notes: No one cares about the football, Dan Snyder should be in jail. Also, Ron Rivera has cancer and Alex Smith’s leg injury almost killed him, so those guys deserve better.
NFC North:
Detroit Lions. Key Players: Matthew Stafford (QB), um, I should remember some more. Jeff Okudah (CB). Coach: Matt Patricia. Notes: Stafford deserves better. Patricia keeps signing ex-Patriots players, and it doesn’t work, presumably because the good ones are current-Patriots-players.
Minnesota Vikings. Key players: Kirk Cousins (QB), Adam Thielen (WR), Justin Jefferson (WR), Dalvin Cook (RB), many good defensive players whose names I don’t know. Coach: Mike Zimmer. Notes: Historically a good defense and just missing a competent QB. Paid a lot for an average QB; defense sucks now for some reason. Also, runs a lot.
Chicago Bears. Key Players: Mitchell Trubisky (QB), Nick Foles (QB), Allen Robinson (WR), Khalil Mack (DE). Coach: Matt Nagy. Notes: Has been wasting great defensive performances with poor to average quarterback play since World War II.
Green Bay Packers. Key Players: Aaron Rodgers (QB), Davante Adams (WR), Allan Lazard (WR), Aaron Jones (RB), Jamaal Williams (RB), Robert Tonyan (TE), David Bakhtiari (T), Za’Darius Smith (DE), Preston Smith (DE). Coach: Matt LaFleur. GM: Brian Gutekunst. Owner: “The fans.” Notes: Has started a hall-of-famer at quarterback every season since before you were born. Winning big but the analytics say they’re getting a bit lucky lately.
NFC South:
Atlanta Falcons. Key players: Matt Ryan (QB), Julio Jones (WR), I forgot the new WR’s name but he looks legit, Todd Gurley (RB). Coach that was recently fired: Dan Quinn. Notes: Have become known for inexplicably blowing enormous leads late in games. It’s quite funny, at this point.
New Orleans Saints. Key players: Drew Brees (QB), Michael Thomas (WR), Alvin Kamara (RB), Taysom Hill (listed as backup QB but just kinda does weird shit on offense), Jameis Winston (backup QB), Cam Jordan (DE), I should remember the cornerback’s name. Coach: Sean Payton. Notes: Known for having tons of talent every year, salary cap be damned, and then losing in heartbreaking fashion in the playoffs. Brees is getting old.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Key players: Tom Brady (QB), Mike Evans (WR), Chris Godwin (WR), this one WR who can go eat shit, Rob Gronkowski (TE), Antoine Winfield Jr (S), Vita Vea (DI). Coach: Bruce Arians. Notes: Signed Tom Brady. It’s working pretty well. Defense is top-tier. The most balanced team.
god, who is the other NFC south team, uh... hold on, lemme get back to you.
AFC North:
Baltimore Ravens
Pittsburgh Steelers
Cleveland Browns
um... Cincinnati Bengals? Maybe?
AFC East:
New York Jets
New England Patriots
Miami Dolphins
Buffalo Bills
AFC South:
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars
Tennessee Titans
uhh... Indianapolis Colts.
AFC West:
Denver Broncos
Kansas City (I think this name should be changed too, honestly)
Las Vegas Raiders
I guess this must be the Los Angeles Chargers?
Oh, so the other NFC South team is the Carolina Panthers. Of course. Key players: Teddy Bridgewater (QB), Christian McCaffrey (RB and also arguably their best receiver), Yetur Gross-Matos (DE). Coach: Matt Rhule. Notes: Rebuilding their team this year, but quietly doing pretty well, considering.
Alright, I’m gonna stop there. Didn’t even get to the other half of the NFL, let alone started to try and list NBA/MLB/NHL teams, which would have gone extremely poorly. Story for another day.
Also, uh, yeah, this is a normal amount to know about football as someone who doesn’t watch football, oooobviously...

“I have no problems creating my own fun.”
CARSON ELIZABETH BENSON is a SEVENTEEN/EIGHTEEN year old VAMPIRE (BORN) and is attending SPELLBOUND ACADEMY as a SENIOR. SHE currently identifies as SEXUAL ORIENTATION and is CURRENTLY SINGLE. Her FACE CLAIM is NINA DOBREV.
CARSON is ALERT, CAPTIVATING, and SARCASTIC, but can be AGGRESSIVE, BRUTAL, and SELF-INDULGENT.
X LAST TIME ON SPELLBOUND…?
Last time we saw Carson Benson, she was currently not playing by the rules. Spending most of her time between Samantha Keeler, Brooke Adams, and Blake Lawson, she definitely chose her friends wisely. What will she get up to this time?
X HI, MY NAME IS
Carson Elizabeth Benson was born on March 6th, 1993 in Sofia, Bulgaria to Jonathan and Elizabeth. She has brown hair, dark brown eyes, and is currently five feet seven inches. She is currently an only child.
A brunette with a pretty fucked up past, but of course, nobody truly knows that. They all just assume Carson Benson is a bitch with no heart. She’s clearly misunderstood. She didn’t know what to do with all of the hurt and anger that she felt inside so she projected it onto others by being a world class bitch. Underneath her bad ass attitude is a young girl desperately searching for someone to understand her.
Growing up, her childhood was pretty rough. With a single mother and a more-than-invisible father, she was left to fend for herself. Carson adores her mother, but that wasn’t enough to stop her from running away the year she entered Spellbound Academy.
Blake Lawson is the one who is often her lookout, they go hunting together, and he’s really the only person she trusts at this school. Another person is Samantha, they both have a bitch side, which is why they clicked. Audrey Ganner told her that she reminded her of Sam, so away Carson went, looking for this mysterious Sam. By the time their first conversation was over, they had an understanding of each other, and were pretty much friends.
X THESE ARE MY FRIENDS & THESE ARE OUR STORIES
✘ BROOKE ADAMS: Carson Benson & Brooke Adams are close friends as well. The girls are always up for having some fun. ✘ CORDELIA BENJAMIN: Cordelia Benjamin & Carson Benson are close. The two were roommates when Cordelia was a Freshman and she was a Sophomore. ✘ JULIETTE COHEN: Juliette Cohen & Carson Benson are unlikely friends. It must’ve been Juliette’s bitchy attitude that drew her in. ✘ RACHEL JAMES: Her roommate. ✘ SAMANTHA KEELER: Samantha Keeler & Carson Benson are close friends after Samantha grew close to her best friend, Blake Lawson. She would most likely be a part of the Evil Geniuses Club. ✘ BLAKE LAWSON: Blake is probably Carson’s best friend. He’s always up for whatever she wants to.
CARSON BENSON IS OPEN/CLOSED.

The Press - Week 9 @ Buffalo
The Press w/ Chris[tian] & Spense[r] Week 9 @ Buffalo Back on track. I admit--early on, it was tense. Coming off a crushing loss where injuries and bad voodoo magic spelled chaos at the halfway point, Seattle regained their composure thanks in large part due to the equal (if not worse) woes San Francisco has faced this season. Kittle went down, Garoppolo went down, and the 49ers went down last Sunday. It looked sketchy early--this team hasn’t been at full health defensively all season and DeeJay has been an unknown quantity in a sea of unknown Seahawk RB quantities. It was a division game against a team needing a win to stay alive in the playoff hunt. Instead, Seattle all but ended their season thanks to strong showings from Russ, DK and DeeJay. Bobby Wagner blitzed! The score was 27-7 at the start of the 4th, and while SF was depleted by then, the 20 point cushion Seattle built was more than enough to help the squad coast to a bounce-back victory and leave the empty home stadium 6-1. Yes, the defense leaves much to be desired. Yes, we will starve if Russ Doesn’t Cook. But this team is in the driver’s seat for a playoff berth, with the only bye ours as of this article being finished, and the rest of our schedule more or less a cakewalk.
This game against Buffalo is the most loseable game left in the regular season. Out-of-conference, on the road, against a playoff-caliber team--all signs point to a tough matchup for every phase of the game. Carson is still hurt, and Shaq Griffin is out. Mike Iupati and Benson Mayowa will miss another game. Josh Allen is a playmaking QB who will make a devastated pass rush and secondary tired from the jump. Still no “Snacks,” but Carlos Dunlap is here, Jamal Adams has returned, and Seattle is still--say it with me--the best offense in the league. This team will rise and fall with our Once and Future MVP, so strap in, enjoy that EST start time, and let’s just pray we make it through the week. Stefon Diggs will beat us over the top, Josh Allen will be impossible to bring down, and you just know we’re due for a weird turnover 5 minutes into the game.
I see Seattle winning 34-24, with a #BobbyBlitz and a DeeJay score up the gut. This is a get-in, get-out game. Winning will be nice, but staying healthy is the goal. There’s room to breathe, and, worst case scenario, we ask Russ to bring his delicacies across the country on a roadshow. The separation is in the preparation, and you’re dangerous when you’ve already been dead. Stay neutral. Go Hawks. -C
---
The Seahawks arguable won 1.5 games last weekend. With JimmyG and George out for while (and possibly the year), the 49ers appear to have finally hit the wall. It’s sad that the best roster in football has gone to this place so fast. It may make the road for the Hawks easier, but it’s those games where you’re outmatched that you can really grow. I’m not big on the 49ers by any means, but imagine if in ’13-’14 it wasn’t just the playoffs that destroyed our health—imagine if it was Russ, Doug, Marshawn, Sherm, Mike B, KJ, and it started in Week 1 and didn’t stop. Yuck.
The Hawks survived and the magic number is probably 4 still. Win three games and you’re most likely in the playoffs. Win 4 though, and the 49ers, or Panthers, or Lions, would essentially have to go 7-2 to make a push, 6-3 is unlikely, but at least doable. The Hawks have breathing room, and more than the bye week, we need to hope for little injuries, and some momentum. I’d rather the Hawks lose the next three, stay healthy, and be the last wild card—then lose 4-5 guys in the process of securing a bye.
The Bills are a weird team. That’s all I can say. Will we face the 35 point Bills? Who move the ball, who through Josh Allen look to be a top 4 team, with a possible MVP candidate? Will we see the 20 point Bills? Who look they could lose to anybody? With a QB who might be replaced in a couple seasons? Are their offensive woes in part to defenses playing better, and sub-par weather for a few games, or the signs of things to come? Here’s what I’m confident in for Sunday. The Bills offense will be good to above average, the Bills defense will be good to below average. The Hawks on the road against this team probably win it 70% of the time. This is a game on paper the Hawks should win. But anytime you go across the county and play a QB who can be as good as Josh Allen was to start the season… you never know what the outcome will be. I’m going Hawks 33-24, with Metcalf and Dunlap coming through.
Go Hawks.
